As a regular visitor to Lymington Town Quay on our boat, weāve never ventured to the opposite side of the river! The Ferryman is an absolute gem - with garden bathed in sunshine today in May, we opted for Sunday lunch indoors in their tastefully decorated restaurant. We all had the beef - a stunningly cooked, 28 day, dry-aged beef rib served with the freshest veggies, Yorkshire pudding and silky gravy! We opted also for two sides of cauliflower cheese which was exquisite. Definitely heading back there again! We didnāt realise that dogs were not permitted in the main restaurant - a welcomed rule given the behaviour of some owners dogs, but an exception was made for our very well behaved Dalmatian - who didnāt make a sound for the entirety of the meal. Thank you for being so welcoming. Best roast Iāve ever had!

Friendly welcome and first class food at a reasonable price. 10% service charge added, but could be removed if requested Cosy marquee outside to shelter from the warm sun. Food was well cooked and arrived quickly. Would definitely return if in the area

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds. The staff were extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We missed breakfast in the morning, but the staff very kindly sorted a lovely spread out for us, even though the kitchen had closed. The terrace at the back of the house is a wonderful sun trap and the perfect place for an evening glass of wine. We shall definitely return to this delighltyly tranquil hotel.

Found an absolute little gem in Lymington, my new favourite place in The New Forest, The staff where wonderful, couldnāt of done more, the food without doubt is the best Iāve tasted, we sat in the beautiful garden although I did venture into the actual restaurant where there was magical atmosphere being one of the oldest pub/restaurant in Britain. Thank you to Steve and his brilliant team, we will be back,

Been here a couple of times before and have drove out of our way to go. We both had lasagne as it has been amazing before and probably the best weve probably ever had. However, last night was disappointing, the lasagne had no meat in it, I didnāt eat much of it, the chips were fries and were over cooked. Not what it normally is like. Very disappointing this time and unfortunately wonāt be returning.

Hilarious , first time Iāve had to pay for gravy because they donāt give enough and the chef reason because we have to buy the jug it comes in and they get broken every week so itās to cover cost not the cost of the gravy ! Why not just put enough gravy on food instead of serving it so dry itās not nice without enough gravy. Or even just put price up by 50 p an serve enough gravy . Other customers also raised this when we were there. The carrots an broccoli were dried out an reheated . Mash was dry as anything shame as the rest was nice. Never before have I had to pay for extra gravy because you donāt serve enough in the first place. Bar area lovely warm but the back room is too cold for comfort in the winter months.
