The best restaurants in Boldre and Sway New Forest South East

A lovely hidden gem of a hotel, yes it's a bit faded, but it's relaxing, has better kept gardens than most National Trust gardens....a genuinely nice place

Had an excellent Sunday lunch. I had pork belly which was lovely and my husband and father in law had the beef which was beautifully cooked. There were plenty of vegetables to accompany the meal. I'm gluten free and there were numerous delicious options on the dessert menu to choose from. There was a nice fire going and a band singing in the back ground so the atmosphere was very nice. It was our first visit and definitely won't be our last. The only slight negative, but just being picky really, they could have done with another member of staff as the girls serving us were really rushed off their feet and just about coped. Despite that they were pleasant and friendly given that they were really under pressure.

Our first visit to the Silver Hind and enjoyed lunch here. I had bean and lentil stew and the girls had burgers. We were all very happy. I saw they have proper chefs working in the kitchen and it all looks professional. Friendly staff so all in all satisfied. Oh and they do not automatically add service charge to the bill which is how it should always be.

12 of us went for a meal on Sunday 29 Dec and the food and service were amazing! Every meal was cooked to perfection and our waitress was so friendly. Well done all and Happy New Year!

Nothing special We use to come last year really often chef was more creative food ok but nothing special taste wise so no recommendations

As a family we have eaten here many times and on only one occasion was the .meal / service below its normally very good service and honest tasty food. Take a chance and be pleased you did .

It was a lovely place to visit for some quiet time and lovely food and friendly staff. The 5 acre grounds are perfect and dog friendly. We stayed over Christmas and really enjoyed it. It was very relaxed and quiet if that's what you're seeking over a normally chaotic time 🙏😊 The food was fresh, produced, and presented beautifully and tasted great. The decor of the hotel was very tasteful and all very comfortable. The room was really clean and had everything we needed. we particularly liked the shower, although the shower glass didn't seem to cover it enough, so make sure you put a towel down because it does spill over the bathroom floor and could be slippery. Other than that, comfortable beds with heavy blackout curtains and the room is warm and snuggly.

Great friendly service. Buffet food good quality and plenty of it. Definitely recommend.

Been here a couple of times before and have drove out of our way to go. We both had lasagne as it has been amazing before and probably the best weve probably ever had. However, last night was disappointing, the lasagne had no meat in it, I didn’t eat much of it, the chips were fries and were over cooked. Not what it normally is like. Very disappointing this time and unfortunately won’t be returning.

What a brilliant pub! A beautiful part of the New Forest.. Stunning inside and outside. Easy to park. Delicious food. Generous portions. Great prices for food and drinks. Dog friendly. Excellent staff. Going back tonight for food and Christmas carols.

My friends and I visited on a Sunday afternoon from out of town at a local’s recommendation. I loved the atmosphere - lots of plants, lots of seating. There weren’t many customers, so it wasn’t loud. We were hoping for afternoon tea, but sadly it is not available on Sundays. Some of us got the Sunday Roasts instead. More in our party (of 10) would have liked to try the Sunday Roast, but they only sold it to some of us due to limited staff & presumably limited ingredients. The rest ordered sandwiches. I’m sorry to say I was not impressed with the starter or main course (the meat, potatoes and vegetables were a bit dry), but I did enjoy the crème brûlée for dessert. Afterward, we visited a gin distillery around the corner. They allowed us samples, and I was impressed with the flavor and smoothness.

Exceeded our expectations, friendly staff in a wonderful setting, matched with quality food. Highly recommended 👌

We booked for Sunday lunch and it was so worth it. Huge portions of meat, lovely big yorkshire pudding and tonnes of veg. We added the cauliflower cheese which was excellent. The service was great and the beer was well kept too. Absolutely 10/10
