Lovely village pub staff helpful and friendly had a lovely time there

Best take away fish and chips Fast fresh and very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately I don't like giving a bad review. But food ok. But had no atmosphere. Bar staff stroke waitresses didn't seem interested in customers at all. Did no check back to see if all was OK. Didn't ask would you like another drink. And I was the only table with two water glasses that was sat there god knows how long. Bar staff should be attentive and friendly that's what makes you go back

This was our first visit and we were impressed by the high standard of the ploughmans we ordered. The ham was delicious and thick cut. All the ingredients were top mark and the staff were pleasant & friendly. Prices are not cheap but if the standards are always like this that's fair. Plenty of choice on the menu and drinks too. It was Monday and the place was quiet.

Good pub lovely menu and food was plentiful, worth a revisit

We have eaten here 4 times in the past 6 weeks. Hugely impressed by the food which has been restaurant standard at a high level. We have always opted for the specials menu which is unlike many places a proper specials menu utilising produce they have carefully sourced. Their Lobster and hand dived scallops were the best I have ever tasted. There is a great local atmosphere in this pub with extremely friendly staff.

Living close by this is our favourite pub to cycle to Sunday lunch is always delicious Succulent roasts with cauliflower cheese Very good value Even better that this summer they have had dived caught scallops and lobster on the specials every weekend The lobster has been delicious Always great service from Joe and the team

We was out walking from Bashley, got caught in a mini hail storm in the open forest area and was in the need of some dinner. The staff were very friendly and able to accommodate us and dog even though we had not booked a table. Food absolutely delicious and a very welcoming/attentive pub ☺️

Family get together and having had a great meal here before, Silver Hind was an obvious choice .. and it didn't disappoint. Excellent food, 5* service and although a Wednesday night, lots of locals dining. Well worth a visit if you're looking for great food, varied menu and top class service 👍🏻🙂

Had a lovely meal here whilst on holiday in the New Forest. The menu is typical pub food and the food itself was absolutely delicious! The desserts were especially incredible!

We were staying nearby & visited the pub for drinks on a couple of occasions and to celebrate my birthday we had a meal there. The food was excellent and we can certainly recommend the pie of the day and the red Thai chicken curry

Tucked away in a quiet road, we were lucky not to have missed this gem. Lovely food from a kitchen with a quality vegetable garden just outside the door. Add to that a friendly welcome and good service. First class.

Fantastic pub, friendly staff and outstanding manager Jose who juggles the plates and the tables making room for everyone. Food is fab, I have eaten here four times during my week stay in Sway. a woman on her own with 2 x little dogs, always felt comfortable !!

Starter was gorgeous (mushrooms and poached egg). The rest let the experience down. Almost as if the starters were devised and prepared by a different chef....

I have eaten several times and for different occasions at the Silver Hind. The food has always been really enjoyable and tasty. The customer care is exceptional, nothing too much trouble. We would have no problem recommending this venue to anyone.

Decided to have a sunny Sunday drive across the Forest to try the pub out on the basis of the reviews. Managed to park outside on the street (I don’t think there is a car park). A friendly welcome and there is a pleasant outside seating area. Food was ok perhaps not quite up to what I had expected given the reviews. Service was a little uncoordinated and I am sure I ended up paying someone else’s (more expensive) tab at the end. Not sure I would go back.

Very pleasant pub and meal. The food was better than average pub grub, and the menu had a wide choice of options. It was reasonably priced and the service was friendly.

Stopped with 3 adults and 4 children. Got Ice cream and drinks in the garden. Lovely helpful staff. Really relaxing atmosphere.

We booked a table for four on Mothers day. Good service, friendly staff, great food. Will absolutely go again soon. When we arrived, mum got a glass of prosecco. We had starters (calamari, garlic musrooms in cream sauce, ham hock terrine and prawn cocktail) which were very tasty, and well presented. For main we all had roast (2x lamb, 1xbeef, 1xpork). There was plenty of vegetables - crispy roast potatoes, a yorkshire pudding, carrots, parsnips, leeks. We added a side of cauliflour cheese. It was all delicious and we even had room for pudding - two creme brulee and two sticky toffee puddings. Despite being very busy on Mothers day, the service was prompt, and food was hot.

Staying in Sway, close to the Silver Hind for a family Christmas. Two from Boston & two from London. Eat here last night and all agreed that the food was superb. It's probably one of the best & tenderness burgers I've had and a special mention for the chips that accompanied the Haddock. Thanks guys.

Spot on. Good service at a great price and great food

Last minute choice and what a wonderful place. Lovely welcome and offered a choice of tables and a very sturdy high chair for the Grandson. Great menu options and excellent service. Well the food was just perfect and a good price. Their attention to detail was 1st class and we were so impressed with the whole visit. Looking forward to our next visit. We visited this pub for a Saturday lunch when staying at a local campsite. Had a very warm, friendly welcome and was fortunately dog friedky. The food was superb !! Menu choices were extremely varied and we opted for a bajhi burger and home made burger, both with triple cooked chips and coleslaw. Wonderful!! Would highly recommend this pub.

On a train based pub crawl,very close to station,good selection of beers and wines .did not eat but menu looked interesting .very clean and staff were wonderful .recommend

For a freehouse (free of tie) why are there no local beers? The 2 on offer are bland and boring national products. Support local? Not on this occasion.

Not a deadful gastro-pub just a good quality kitchen with well prepared food by compitent chefs. A very enjoyable evening with attentive but not overbearing staff. Also seems to be a local takeaway.

Nice place to have lunch and dinner, the service was excellent, the food was good. It is a dog friendly place where there are dog water bowls in multiple places.

We were staying in Sway for a few days. We popped into the Silver Hind for a quick drink and then decided to go the next evening for dinner and to take part in their quiz night. We had a lovely warm welcome from both the staff and the regulars. It was a really fun evening. The beer was well-kept and my food was delicious (pizza with a side salad followed by a creme brulee). Only 4 stars for the food though because my other half's a vegan and there wasn't a great choice for him. If it was just me it would be 5 stars! We would happily go there again if we were in the area.

Delightful, professional, friendly staff. The food was excellent and very good value for money. We were there for a family lunch, with our youngest member being 9, it was nice to see a children's menu that offered items other than the usual, chips with everything. I would highly recommend this venue and hope to return in the not too distant future.

We booked for an evening meal on Saturday 9th September and were not disappointed. The warm and friendly welcome and attentive service was part of a fantastic dining experience. Great cocktails, beautifully cooked food and a relaxed atmosphere only enhanced our experience. We will definitely be visiting The Silver Hind again.

A busy restaurant for local people and visitors, service for food and drinks was friendly and prompt . I was especially pleased when I asked and was kindly given extra vegetables that I needed with my fish , prices were average / reasonable. There were tables outside . The pub . is a few minutes down the road from the |New Forest and dogs were allowed

A relaxed birthday meal with an old friend. Enjoyed a lovely meal and a good old “chin wag”. Agreed probably the best Bakewell tart and Lemon posset we’ve had - and we’ve had a few in our time 🤗. Delicious.

My 3 friends had the Thai green curry, they all agreed it was delicious. I went along for the Quiz night it was great fun, we didn't do toooo badly and some varied interesting questions. I would definitely go again 💯

We enjoyed a Saturday evening meal in the restaurant area of this busy village pub which had a range of local beers on tap. The atmosphere was lively but not overly noisy, service was good and the food great. We both had mains of sirloin steak cooked to perfection with mini vine tomatoes, mushrooms, chips and a small salad. Desserts were of an equally high quality. Altogether a satisfying experience and good value.

Having been let down by our chosen venue we had to search around for somewhere to eat, we telephoned the Silver Hind who said yes they could do us s table, but warned us that there was a charity quiz night on, that night, having little choice we took the chance and booked our first ever visit to The Silver Hind. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our table by two extremely pleasant young ladies, one returned for our drink orders following that she came back for out meal orders. The service was quick and efficient, we all started with prawn cocktails, two had fish, one had a steak and kidney pie and the other had a burger and chips. The food was served quickly, arrived hot and well presented. Deserts chosen were apple crumble and custard and Sticky toffee pudding, all perfect. The evening went so well with a terrific atmosphere and we were made so welcome by the other customers as well as the management, that we joined in with the quiz night. Superb evening at a great venue, would recommend the Hind to anyone

While staying in a nearby shepherd's hut, we chose this pub to celebrate my husbands birthday. What a fantastic find. Wonderful service and delicious food. The price of food and drinks was very reasonable. The staff were courteous at all times. We stayed after the meal and chatted to very friendly local people. I would definitely recommend it. We walked from our shepherd's hut, but we did see parking available by the train station, which was just around the corner from the pub.

Really friendly staff, good beer and my bacon/brie baguette was lovely. We always visit when we stay at Setthorns and are never disappointed. Update. Returned and had the steak pie with cauliflower cheese. Best pie I have had in years. Full of good quality meat and very tasty. Service was excellent. Great pub.

Excellent roast, fab and delicious vegetables to go with it, not all overcooked and watery. Had an extra side of excellent cauliflower with leek gratin. Very hot and well served by friendly efficient staff. Followed it with a delicous creamy crème brûlée and an Eton mess. Would certainly recommend and come again

Car parking was difficult- they have no dedicated car park. We chose the chilli and red Thai curry. Both needed more flavour and the ratio of chilli to rice needs adjusting - more chilli!

Been staying in Sway, Lymington for a week visiting The Silver Hind pub every day. The staff (Leia in particular) and locals are very friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere. The menu is very extensive and we've just had Sunday dinner which was excellent. I forgot to take a pic of the Cajun Swordfish lunch I had but it was amazing. I did remember to take a photo of the desert 😊 I highly recommend this pub 😍

What an amazing find. Great menu , correctly priced and beautifully presented and well cooked. Our young waitress (Leiha) was lovely and made a nice evening even more pleasant. Well done!!

Down for my wife's birthday, we arrived for 1pm table as party of four (plus dog). We were met with a warm welcome. The atmosphere was friendly. Food was great. Decent beers and wine. Good service. In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much - that before we knew it, it was 8pm! And we'd been there most of the day. Best pub in the area.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Fantastic service and excellent food. Possibly one of the best roasts I have ever had plus the other food selected was really good. Also a great dessert selection. The Sway Thursday Club held their Christmas lunch at the Silver Hind. Really good food, excellent service. The whole atmosphere was excellent.

It has a very friendly atmosphere, prompt and friendly service, the waitress was very accommodating and friendly. I had the steak and definitely would have it again. All in all a good venue and will definitely go back soon.

My wife and I had dinner here last evening. We sat in the outdoor area which was comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. The food and service were excellent. We always enjoy our times here and can't wait to make another visit.
