At the moment, Jason only organizes an evening meal occasionally. On this occasion he had opened prior to a film being held at the Village Hall. A small group of us met and enjoyed a two course delicious meal with wine. The first course was a salad, comprising, Isle of Wight, Heritage tomatoes and fennel, beautifully presented. My main course was a chicken schnitzel, with ratatouille and potatoes that have been tossed in buttery herbs

This is a lovely little café and such a welcome addition to Sway. I know the cafe has been here a while but I understand the management is relatively new (last 18 months). I must say they are doing a great job!! I've just devoured the English breakfast washed down with a lovely coffee ☕ Nice atmosphere, great friendly staff and local produce. It's a winner 🏆

Five of us attended a pre-cinema meal at The Forest Deli At Sway last evening. It was the first time that Jason had been able to do this and serve a glass of wine or a beer. We had a really great meal comprising two courses. A delicious first course followed by a chicken schnitzel with new potatoes and an Isle of Wight Heritage tomato salad. A great start to an interesting evening. We saw the film the longest day at Sway cinema.

When we were served, I did a tiny dance, a pirouette, just in my head, to celebrate the simple beauty of a white cup and saucer. Now you may say I am being flippant or facetious - no, but how many times have I been served flat white in a glass? Serving a hot drink in glass is stupid - for the obvious fact it is only drinkable once tepid. Whose idea was it to serve coffee in a glass in the first place? Maybe an Australian lumberjack with giant hands of ox leather. Once I had recovered from the pleasure of the crockery I could concentrate on the coffee itself - it had that delicious dark residue I always long for, and this rich, brown swirl against the white cup was a pleasure in itself. And then the moment of perfection, that first sip, the caffeine zipped through my blood and pinged in my brain - I saw stars, a galaxy, a fizz of black diamonds. These people know how to make coffee, how to serve coffee. I spoke to one of the staff afterwards, was told of the training they had to undertake in order to be purveyors of the bean, sourced from Bad Hand roasters in Bournemouth. One of the greatest flat whites I’ve ever had, maybe the even the best. (I should add I am not a friend or relative of anyone associated with this deli or the roasters. I am a coffee addict, fed up with tepid, milky slop.) The Forest Deli is a fortress of perfection. Let no mediocre coffee crusader scale its walls.

As Jason approaches his first anniversary as the owner of Sway Deli, I'm delighted to report on another great lunch. I love pea and ham soup, but he'd used split peas that gave it a really smooth and comforting taste. Congratulations Jason. Iris had ham, egg, tomatoes and fried potatoes - she had substituted tomatoes for the mushrooms that were offered.

The new owner was so welcoming and hd many visions for the deli which he shared such as introducing a 'daily speacial' light lunch (sounded delicious), and making more of the Deli side of the business (something Sway needs). The ham in the sandwich was great quality and the quiche was really tasty: both accompanied by a fresh and varied UK salad. I also went home with a dozen eggs and a locally produced venison chirizo.

Went into this shop this morning with my dad. I was in the middle of ordering when a female waitress did something wrong with the coffee machine, like put caffeinated coffee into what should have been decaf or something, and the man, who I think maybe the manager, lost his temper. He shouted at the staff member who I felt really sorry for and then turned from me and started slamming and banging around with the coffee machine. I didn’t actually get to finish my order. It made me so angry how he spoke to his staff and behaved in front of the customers. I decided to leave there and then. The female staff member was nice though and I don’t know how she puts up with her colleague. I would’ve walked out had I been spoken to like that.

First time ok if a little pricey, second time my husband ordered the omelette with chips and peas but only got the omelette, however they were very apologetic and the food that came was tasty. Today soon after we sat down we were warned by other customers that they had been waiting a very long time. Most of the customers left soon after but still our food - a jacket potato and an omelette, took a long time. When my husband asked if I could have a fresh pot of tea as we had been waiting so long it had got cold, the owner was extremely rude and shouted at him to leave and not to come back. Since we had already paid we waited for our food and ate it. Definitely not service with a smile!

I can honestly say this was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in and eaten in so many. The restaurant has a lovely, relaxed but special vibe. The staff are exceptional. The food was out of this world!!! Incredible ingredients, flavours and beautifully presented. We chose a red, an expensive red, but instead of taking our order, we were told it’s tanning and mix might not go with our dish. We were instead recommended a different wine that was so yummy we ordered a second. Super impressed. This is a destination restaurant and we’ll be back again and again

This review is based on my experience on the day and could be different for you, but I doubt it. Superb service from this F&C take away and excellent food to boot to. Called ahead and asked if they cooked Gluten Free on a Saturday - was advised it was cooked Tuesday to Saturday- as one member of our party had an eating disorder. Complied our order and called back a 2nd time and placed the order and was told it would be made immediately. Drove there and collected it after paying. Superb service. FYI- they do not deliver so collection is the only option. F&C was excellent and tasty all found, no complaints and empty plates as was the add on food expected within a fish and chip shop that we purchased. Have to say the Saveloys were superb and very tasty. So to summarise, superb helpful staff, fantastic food, good for people with food allergies, all sorted very quickly Try it you will be back Trudy me on this.

Just a quick shout out to the Cliff house. Usually put a review on every now and then for the Cliff house. Ate here last week and yet again exceptional service, great choice of drinks and good menu. Had a chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly. Price is ok for location. Thoroughly enjoyable

As usual we had a very enjoyable lunch here today. Despite having two vegetarians and one gluten free out of the five of us, nothing was too much trouble. We all had different very tasty roasts. Followed by some good desserts, the toffee roulade was great. The Ship’s Sunday roast is definitely the best around here.
