Angie is a wonderful host. She makes the difference between a place to visit and a place one wishes to return to. Lovely rooms, which are warm and well laid out with very good toiletries. Good local walks and good local pubs. The breakfast was noteworthy - hot, tasty and well served.

Stayed at the Manor at Sway for 2 nights with friends. We booked to dine in at the hotel restaurant on the first night and after our evening meal we decided to dine again in on the 2nd night. It was more expensive than we would normally pay but the food was well cooked exquisite taste and a good variety of dishes. Don't expect potatoes and the normal 2/3 vegetables on your plate. Friendly staff who were very attentive Would have preferred nicer glasses for our water!

Had a really lovely Father’s Day lunch at this gem. Service was fab and very accommodating for my sons allergies. The owner pulled out a box of duplo / Lego just as my kids were getting a bit twitchy at table and then we went for a beautiful walk round the grounds after which are stunning (think rewilded woods with secret paths)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Manor. The food served there was good - two criticisms, I'd have liked baked beans with my fried breakfast & the chips with the fish were dry & certainly not triple cooked. The table service was better during the evening than the morning - Cat was brilliant during the evenings, she made our stay there magical. We chose the cosy room which was fine, but the shower made the floor wet & we had to use the towels to mop up the water - it really needs a sliding screen door. The Manor is located in a quiet area that's just a couple of minutes walk from Sway train station & there's a Co-Op right across the road which is handy. If those few things mentioned above were rectified, I'd certainly give it five stars.

Breakfast and Dinner were exceptional. Two of us are Omnivores and the other six are Vegetarian or Vegan. Ages range from five to 77. All were catered for handsomely in a spotless and bright dining room for the three days we stayed at The Manor. The staff attended our needs and requests with politeness and enthusiasm including hot drinks and sandwiches for an ad hoc Birthday party in the lounge with no notice in mid afternoon on day two. Highly recommended for food and accommodation. Well done to Tim and his staff.

We dined here last night - family of 4. The food was really good - confit duck, tempora, pork belly and other hearty classics - and there were some excellent desserts too. Nice atmosphere in restaurant and welcoming and helpful staff. I agree with the many positive reviews in here - really good meal and one to highly recommend.

A typical hotel dining room, rather soulless. The menu sounded promising but the food did not match up to the expectation. I think the chef has rather grand ideas which he can't quite achieve.

We had dinner included as part of our hotel stay package. The dining room was beautifully decorated and we secured a window table. The menu had approx 5 or 6 dishes per course to choose from which was plenty and the menu was well thought out. My wife and I had different dishes for each course and they were excellently presented and tasted great. Looking at the prices on the menu, I would say very good value. If one SMALL comment, it would be that the menu is left on the table, or the meal introduced, so you can identify and appreciate all the components. Excellent place and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The food at this hotel restaurant was excellent. The range is limited but everything we tried lived up to expectations. Some of the food was unusual but worked. Starters wise we would recommend the Cured Trout and the Baked Beetroot with Goats cheese. All main courses were good. The lamb was particularly good. The sweets were also imaginative, custard cheesecake with glazed banana worked well. Service is good and relaxed.

We were disappointed that the (somewhat) limited menu did not change but the food is good enough that several of our party were happy to have the same thing again the next night. The staff were delightful and efficient though our meal took a while to complete on the second night. No draught beer but there is a good selection of wines and bottled beers. The desserts are particularly good

Over 40 years we have dined at most of the restaurants in the New Forest and Lymington area. This was our first visit to the Manor. It will not be the last. We rate it very highly.....among the top 3 in the area for quality of food, ambience and all round dining experience. Goat's cheese croquette was a good starter, with a crisp and tasty coating. Guinea fowl can be dark and bitter. Not this time, I liked the leg meat made into a coquette and the breast was tender, served with an enriched gravy. My husband's pig belly had been well trimmed of fat. In both cases the accompaniments were suitable and pleasing. Both the cinnamon panna cotta and dark chocolate cremeaux finished our meals perfectly. There is plenty of the menu for us to return to another time. Two vegetarian options available on mains. Cost p p about £33 without drinks or coffee. Ample parking, but difficult to find on a dark winter's evening. Satnav or similar should tell you when you have arrived!

The terrace is lovely: a great place for pre or post meal drinks, or maybe even to eat. The dining room is formal, and very nicely set up, but not really atmospheric. We had the set lunch: reduced price through Groupon, but the regular price would have been acceptable, considering the type of restaurant. All three courses used quality ingredients, well prepared and presented. The four main course options (fish & chips, chicken, risotto, blue cheese pasta) were good although not inspiring, and possibly indicated a low budget for raw materials. Drinks expensive: e.g. £5 for a bottled beer. We enjoyed the meal, although the end was rather underwhelming. A new waiter visited our table twice, to clear dessert dishes and wine glasses, didn't offer coffee or the bill, but we assumed he would return. Ours was one of 3 tables in use. After 15 mins, he had not, so we decided to go to the bar lounge area for coffee, to be told that the coffee machine was broken. Not what I would have expected from a place of this kind.

We bought a Groupon 5 course tasting menu. Won’t go again. We were treated like poor relations. We told them on booking that my pregnant daughter was a pescatarian. On arrival we discovered, to my horror, that we were all given the same menu and two of the main courses were fish. I hate fish! On asking the very unhelpful manager, could this be changed. He was very off and couldn’t understand anyone not liking fish. He said the chef was busy, although there was only three tables with two and four people on them. How does he cope if it was full. He came back offering rabbit. I said I was sorry but I keep rabbits as pets and couldn’t possibly eat rabbit. Again he went off in a huff and came back offering pork, that I was very grateful. One of the courses was tomato jelly which my daughter couldn’t eat as it had gelatine in and we never finished as it was disgusting. The fried courgette wasn’t cooked inside. The manager said that everyone in the restaurant, all three tables, had ordered from the menu and he was busy too. No one else in the restaurant had the tasting menu. If the hotel don’t want people to use the Groupon offer, they shouldn’t use the site. It’s a shame as the hotel is lovely and the patio is lovely too. The other waiters were excellent and very helpful. They did make a lot of money out of us as we spent £100 on drinks and coffees. We won’t go again. We travelled from Fareham and it took an hour to get there. We should have stayed at home!

We had booked back in September, as all our other choices were already fully booked with a long wait list. On arrival we walked into a cold, poorly lit and largely empty dining room which lacked festive cheer. Not a great start, but the crackers were nice so we pulled those and put our hats on, hoping things would improve. The first course was soup, no-one bothered to tell us what flavour, it was just ‘soup’. Tasted OK, if not very warm. Next was a ham terrine, also ok. The gaps between courses were getting longer and the next was some very ordinary quiche. Looked like it had come straight from a supermarket deli, more Lidl than Waitrose. Just plonked on a plate. After another long wait, a heap of poor quality smoked salmon. Unadorned and plonked on a plate. After the big build-up, the turkey arrived after another long gap. Vegetables had been cooked to mush, potatoes were boiled not roasted, no stuffing, turkey itself was ok. The whole dish was lukewarm at best or cold for most of our group. The vegetarian option was an awful lumpen nut roast which looked pre-digested and under-cooked. Another long wait and the Christmas pudding was delivered, again cold and unappealing. There may have been coffee afterwards but we just wanted to leave by then so didn’t bother waiting to find out. So we ate cold food in a cool room with cold and unfriendly staff. My poor mum was mortified that she’d booked this place and it was awful and way over-priced. The wine list was also uninspired and hugely marked-up. Never again.

Bit disappointing. Friendly staff, not enough signs around the hotel to show entrance or that we were in the right place. Lovely selection of cakes but the sandwiches were not great. Four small triangles each, bit stale at the edges. One of us vegetarian so all sandwiches where vegetarian except one small triangle of ham which was served touching the vegetarian selection which may sound petty but the done thing would be to serve separately. Just didn’t feel like the lovely treat it was meant to be and I sadly wouldn’t go back.

As our kids were away at camp for 5 days, my wife and I took the opportunity to make the most of our grown-up time.We booked lunch at The Manor at Sway, via the web site, for a Saturday lunch and within the hour I had a phone call to check if there were any allergies, but also to find out if we were paying cash or voucher - it turns out they also they do Groupon. They have a Mon - Sat lunch time offer on the web site - 3 Courses for 2 people for £29 from a set menu. When we arrived, it was very quiet and there was a man sat working at a desk inside of the main entrance who looked slightly startled to see us. We were then shown into the bar, seated and given the drinks and lunch menusA small glass of prosecco was £5.95, a Diet Coke was £2.20, however, it was a 200ml mixer bottle of Diet Coke making 500ml costing £5.50 compared to a 500ml bottle of Ringwood Fortyniner beer at £4.60! I complained to the bar staff / waitress about the cost for the size and was told 'that's the way it is - that's what we're given'The menu had a choice of 3 starters:Soup of the Day - Tomato!Asparagus and poached egg.Smoked Salmon and cream cheese.I ordered the asparagus, my wife the salmon. The three mains were:Sea bass and crushed potatoes.A supreme of chicken dish.A vegetarian option. We both went for the sea bass.Dessert was:Panna cotta with candied walnuts and rhubarb (despite been told there were no nuts on the menu when they phoned)Banana and chocolate cheesecakeCheese board at a £3 supplement. We skipped on dessert as my wife has a nut allergy and neither of us like banana. We were taken to the dining room where just two other couples were seated. We were shown to a fairly dim corner away from one of the three windows. It was very quiet and there was no background music to break over the obvious silence. We were given a plate with two half slices of an artisan bread with unsalted butter, which was fresh and very moreish. There was also a small carafe of water on the table. The starters were then brought to the table by a member of staff who had been in and out of the bar, but was not dressed in any hotel livery or waitress white and blacks, but a bright pink summer dress and cardigan. What was unusual and I have never seen in a restaurant of any description is that she and the other waitress wore white gloves. I've only ever seen that in a catering kitchen or on Downton Abbey and it looked very odd - wrong in fact. The asparagus and poached egg had sat in the pass too long so the hollandaise sauce has split and the poached egg had continued cooking so it was hard. The dish was under-seasoned and the only thing on the plate that was tasty was some sort of pea puree. The smoked salmon and cream cheese was simply that with a few bits sprinkled on the plate, with no bread. The pink lady came back and rather than ask how our course was, simply stated that she hoped it was OK whilst quickly whisking the plates away.Main course was brought out by a different member of staff and was actually very nice. The sea bass was a small fillet, well cooked and served on top of crushed potatoes with stem broccoli on the side. There was a delicious buttery sauce to accompany and it was a well seasoned and well balanced dish.By this time a table of 8 ladies had arrived for cream tea and sandwiches and there was a complete lack of attention from the staff at that point. Eventually, pink lady said she would bring the menu for dessert, but we said we would just do the two courses. We waited 10 minutes before anyone appeared to ask for the bill, then after another 10-15 minutes waiting to pa, I eventually had to get up and go to the bar to pay.No one asked us how are meal was, we were not offered more drinks or coffee. This is truly some of the worst service we have experienced. We had driven for 50 minutes to get there and wish we hadn't bothered.I considered rating at 3 stars as the food wasn't terrible. However, the customer service was not good at all and the drinks were ridiculously over-priced, so for those reasons I am only going to rate it 2 stars.

We booked with a voucher which was a birthday lunch for my mum. The booking was not in the diary even though I had booked in advance. This was no problem as it was not busy. The food was fine apart from my mum had the Gnochi which was supposed to be served with Parmesan. My mum did not get this and complained that it had been tasteless. We did notice that our portions were considerably smaller than the other customers. Not sure if this was simply with a voucher or the 'special' menu. The waitress was clearly very busy as she was greeting guests, serving drinks at the bar, serving food, clearing and taking payments. She said at the end that the chef had indeed forgotten the Parmesan. I was slightly annoyed that they did not offer a discount or let me off the cost of the side order I had had to make up for this. Too be honest, they didn't seem bothered. The puddings were the best bit. My mum was disappointed with her meal which was a shame.Beautiful setting and decor Probably wouldn't bother to visit again

Booked for the five course tasting menu which was simply the worst we have ever tasted. The food was bland & every course except for the dessert needed seasoning & lots of it.First course was the amazing tomato soup2/3/4 Courses had the same vegetable combination - carrot, beetroot & so called charred but actually completely burnt kale. The burnt & inedible potato gnocchi was served without any sauce. The only saving grace was the vanilla panna cotta for dessert, the rest was truly dreadfulThe 2 serving staff did their best to cope but were clearly rushed off their feet.#And to top it off the unisex toilets wre not clean nor did they have any clean hand towels in much to the disgust of myself & the lady at the next sink, dirty hand towels were scattered over the surface. In over 40 years of travelling around the world this would rank as one of the worst we've ever experienced.

Arrived for a family lunch, was greeted by staff, very warm and friendly. Shown to our table and was offered drinks, prior to our meal. After choosing the 3 Course menu, we enjoyed some drinks and shortly were served with great Gin and atonics. I selected the Black Pudding and Poached Egg starter which was excellent. The Sea Bass main was delicious. Highly recommend the food, which was of a high class.

Greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table in the well appointed dinning room overlooking the garden. We had the three course lunch. I had the black pudding and poached egg starter which was well presented but the egg could have been a little warmer. Still tasted nice. To follow we all had the chicken dish off the menu. Unfortunately on arrival the dish looked rather pale and required something green on the plate. The chicken was very moist and tasty - pity that it was served with pale white leeks and mashed potatoes - no colour. For desert both my husband and myself had panna cotta served with fruits of the forest which was delicious. The service was excellent and can I recommend this lovely restaurant on the edge of The New Forest.

We visited here on a Sunday lunchtime for afternoon tea. We had pre booked so when we arrived we did not wait long at all for it all to be brought out. The staff were attentive, very polite and looked after us well. We decided to sit outside as the day was gorgeous, we also took out dog with us and again we were shown to a table in the terrace, they brought out a water bowl for the dog and we all enjoyed a very nice afternoon. The afternoon tea was a mixture of sandwiches, cheese, ham, salmon and cucumber. Two scones each with jam and cream plus cakes. I could not eat everything so they boxed the, up for me to take away. We had two pots of tea, more if we had wanted. We moved down to the garden to enjoy the sunshine more and relax in the beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend and will be looking forward to another visit.

We have been a number of times for meals and afternoon tea. Each time the food has been excellent and the service very attentive! The garden is smallish but very pleasant. We are planning other repeat visits so we clearly rate it highly! It is on the edge of the new forest so ideal for a little bit of tourism!

Visited this charming hotel on a sunny Saturday lunch time. Having been given a voucher for Christmas. The staff were friendly and efficient and most welcoming. The restaurant is modern and stylish. The three course meal was delicious and the waitresses were attentive and helpful. Although the meals were tasty they were quite small . They were enough for me but I think someone with a larger appetite might be a bit disappointed. All in all it was a very enjoyable visit and we were invited to have a stroll in the lovely gardens afterwards.

The most disappointing afternoon tea I have ever experienced. Scones which resembled rock cakes and crumbled so that it was impossible to spread the jam and cream although we did attempt this and discovered that the jam was a flavourless red jelly. Just one piece of cake on the stand which was verging on stale, one shortbread biscuit so hard the only way it could be eaten was to dunk in tea and an overly sweet chocolate square too sickly to eat. The saving grace was a few finger sandwiches which were fresh and tasty and the pot of tea was good. We were seated at an old coffee table with no cloth in what was possibly a drawing room which was dark and dingy. We had a word with the lovely young waitress (and only member of staff we saw), she apologised and said we were not the only ones to complain about the quality of scones and cakes and many people like us had left them uneaten. This had been a Christmas gift toenjoy in January, sadly it was just too disappointing. I wrote to the Manager but did not have the courtesy of a reply. Needless to say I would not be returning to The Manor at Sway and would not recommend based on the experience we had on the day.

Lovely location, hotel beautifully decorated. Welcomed by Tim, food was excellent, sandwiches really tasty with lovely fillings, particularly the cheese, the pickle was really different and tasted homemade. The cakes were delightful, the chocolate one was fantastic and the scones fresh from the oven and still warm. What a treat on a miserable damp day, thank you

We received a voucher as a present for the 5 course tasting menu in the hotels restaurant. On booking the man was very nice and even asked if we had any dietary requirements for the evening. We arrived and were greeted in the bar, offered drinks and sat in the lounge area while we perused the menu for dinner and the wine list. All reasonably priced for a hotel. We were shown to our table, first to arrive, nicely decorated, subdued lighting and music playing in the background. First course was a mushroom soup, served in a tea cup and saucer, butter and sourdough also available on the table. Then followed the terrine of ham and chicken, next the pigeon breast, then the duck with various veg. All cooked well, duck slightly over, but very tasty and just the right size portions. My only criticism (a small one) would be that they could leave more of a gap between courses and we had to ask to order wine. Lastly followed the dessert, fantastic! The coconut ice cream, salted caramel, white chocolate fondant was delicious. After the meal we were able have coffee back in the lounge area. A very nice evening and I must get the recipe for the dessert! Thank you for a nice, relaxing evening.

We were recommended this hotel for lunch. We arrived just before 12-00 noon and asked if could have lunch. It was greeted with some surprise and were asked if we had vouchers. The receptionist asked a very casually dressed man if "two walk in could have lunch?" We were looked up and down, we were on our way to a funeral in the local church, so felt we were respectably dressed. We were led into an impressive, but empty, dinning room and seated. Unfortunately, there was a low hanging pendant lamp at shoulder level between our table and the next. The table was exquisitely set, Swedish style glassware, starched white napery and white crockery. We were given the menu and wine list. There were starters, main and puddings. We made our choices my husband Tomato soup, we both choose Chicken Supreme and I had Chocolate Pave. We were brought a plate with slices of brown bread and a small slate with a small but thick butter pat. The soup was very tasty and boiling hot, accompanied with more bread. The Chicken Supreme arrived, two large chunks of chicken resting on with what turned out to be heavily buttered puréed potatos with a thin yellow jus. We both found this disappointing. This was not my idea of Chicken Supreme and if there is one food item I detest it is mashed potatos and butter! My Chocolate Pave was nicely presented, a good texture and tasty. This was a moderately priced meal, for a hotel which by the impressive decor, but the could do better. Giving something a continental name leads one to expect a dish resembling the suggested concoction.

Lunch time dining with a 5 course taster menu proved an excellent experience. The quality of the food, the service and splendid surroundings made for a lovely visit to this establishment. Food and service could not be faulted, such that we will definitely be visiting again. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a scrumptious taster meal everything we had was lovely. We were welcomed in, sat down with a drink whilst our table was being readied. Once at the table wine, service and food was excellent my favourite was the bream but the Duck was close. I can't criticise but more beetroot purée would have been the icing on the cake. We will go back

We purchased a Groupon to give this a try out and my goodness what a fantastic experience. The food was exemplary. Each course was delivered and savoured. I do wonder at some other comments. Some people obviously measure against pub meals and this is just stupid. Our son is a qualified chef and the one thing we have learned is the quality not the quantity. The service anticipated water and this was delivered and on the table. Our greeting was pleasant and not over the top. This hotel has obviously gone through refurbishment and has been tastefully delivered. The staff appear dedicated and the chef clearly knows his stuff. You would be mad to miss this gem in the forest and we will be back.

We visited The Manor at Sway today for afternoon tea. I'd never been here before and to be honest it looked a little dead from the outside. There is one sign outside the car park but no indication on the building that we were in the right place. Once inside though I was very impressed with the decor - the hotel was refurbed a year and a half ago I was told. Lovely colours and soft furnishings in the bar. We were sat overlooking the rear lawns and it was lovely. And the afternoon tea was tasty too. Standard afternoon tea fare but nicely presented in a lovely setting.

We went for a celebration meal, with fifty others....whoever the chef de patisserie is, he needs to have a gold star! the mince pies we had were simply superb.Unfortunately that was the best bit of the meal. The starter was tasteless, and the main course was cold, and inedible. The veg weren't just overcooked, they I should think they had been boiled since nine o'clock, and then left to get cold. One to forget.

Service was superb, very friendly and efficient staff. Food was delicious, very small portions at big prices- but that's fine dining for you. I had the pheasant as a main, very well cooked and tasty. But would have been nice served with some vegetables. To finish I had the parfait; very very small portion, and clearly not homemade. Other than that was very good

You may be tempted to eat in the elegant-looking dining room if you're staying at the hotel but you'll get better value for money at the pub next door. The chef is clearly a lingering exponent of Nouvelle Cuisine so unless you are on a diet, or a fan of tastfully located vegetables (in single figures and possibly not as described on the menu) then you are going to be disappointed. Complain if you like but don't expect an apology...

Original twists in the dishes on a menu that can satisfy all, omni, veggie, fishy and pud lovers alike. The puds in particular had interesting and successful innovations, being as described on the menu.

went here recently on a groupon voucher for afternoon tea. we bought three vouchers one to be used with friends and one for our Son and daughter in law. we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. it was such a lovely day we sat in the delightful garden. it wasn't long at all before the tiered tray of delicate cakes and scones arrived with the clotted cream and jam, together with a long platter of 4 sandwiches each. the choices of fillings were nice, other than the cucumber most of which we left! it might be a nice idea to put mustard separately as it's not always appreciated on a sandwich to be honest and is overpowering. the scones and cakes were very small and bitesize and would have preferred one decent size scone with a bit more soft insides than 2 smaller ones which can be a bit more 'solid', but overall were nice but not fab.the service which was given by a French lady was excellent. she was very attentive to us and chatted too. we had top ups of tea and coffee pots without having to ask they came to us and offered which is very good, normally at an afternoon tea some restaurants leave you to it and don't come back, but this one did which showed good training in my opinion.we thought the room was a bit stark to be fair and a bit retro for our taste with solid wood floors rather than plush carpet, but that's they way of a modern makeover these days and always looks clean and tidy which is nice. a lot of money has been spent in upgrading and has made the place a totally different one for the better.we noticed on leaving that they do a Sunday roast and will definitely be back in the winter afternoons to try that too! this place is suitable for all. couples and friends and business, but probably not a true family venue as it would spoil the ambience!a lovely journey through the forest both going and coming home made the day complete.thanks to all.

I stayed at the Manor with a small group of girl friends in May. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were absolutely delicious! We all enjoyed the fresh, locally sourced food which was imaginatively prepared and beautifully plated. The service was very kind, efficient and attentive. We really enjoyed the wine list and also had a few drinks at the beautiful hotel bar, which had a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend both staying at the Manor and dining at the restaurant - both are lovely, relaxing, and restorative!

We have heard about the Manor at Sway and decided to give it a chance for Sunday Lunch. The food was excellent. I had chicken ravioli to start followed by roast beef My wife started with smoked salmon and cod for the main course. The service was pleasant and timely and very informal - OK for us. My only observation is the use of wide bowls rather than flat plates on some dishes which would be better suited to pasta dishes using spoon and fork rather than knife and fork. We would will visit again, perhaps for afternoon teas after we saw the spread that was being served.

When visiting here the first thing we noticed is how under trained the staff were and that there is no welcome .Either if staying or just eating , or having a coffee .None of the staff seem as if they want to be there .They dont seem to have much knowledge of what they are doing and management must take responsibility for this .We came in for a drink and were looking to stay in the area .But after the cold feeling we got and how quiet it was we decided this would not be the place to stay .we had no conversation from the staff , they didnt know anything about the hotel and didnt seem interested in finding out for us .New staff needed and lots of training im afraid .Giving off a bad impression .good luck for the future it will be very much needed , not a good reputation when asked about either .

Very empty restaurant so not much atmosphere. We also found the waitress inexperienced but this is down to management and training NOT her capacity. Prices were OK for the dinner but the quality was hit and miss; my main was good (even though it lacked a key element on the menu) but my daughter's dish of the day (mussels) were overcooked. We went to one of our regular restaurants the second night of our stay where the food is pricey but worth it. We don't mind paying for good food but this restaurant needs to train its staff and try much harder!!!

Watch out for the lighting which hangs down between some of the tables! Does provide a talking point though when diners come into contact with them when going to/from their tables. We had the 5 course tasting menu and very good it was too. Our empty gin and tonic glasses remained on the table throughout the meal. No offer or attempt was made to kep our wine glasses topped up even though we were more than happy to help ourselves. After the final course we were deserted. No offer of coffee, liqueurs, a brandy perhaps - was made. Opportunities for additional sales missed! Service is more than just bringing the food to table and clearing the plates away. The food was excellent but the overall experience should have been better.

We dined here for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. The venue is nice and looks modern and fresh but the portions were rather small and the service by the young waitress was a bit hit and miss. Once we had paid the bill the change came and she kept it in her hand and asked if wanted it back!! Now I always tip whether I like it or not but I'd never come across this before and I didn't like it. Overall, nice venue, ok food, portions could be bigger but service really needs attention.

We were the only people in the bar and dining room for most of the visit and the striking modern decor felt a little bare and cold. I think more people would have made a difference, although I was in good company so we soon made up for it. The food was delicious, although quite expensive it was worth it for taste, although quantities were not huge. There were some unusual dishes and combinaions of flavours and it was good to have local venison and guinea fowl on the menu (at least, I am assuming they were local) The young lady serving was new and was very sweet and eager to please. If I had looked at the tles round the bar for too long I might have developed a migraine. Something a bit more relaxing might be good.I would go there agan for a treat but a bit expensive for a regular visit.

We went for Sunday lunch in early December and had a delicious meal. The roast beef was perfect as were the traditional accompaniments. We have been several times before and have tried different items from the menu and have not been disappointed. The only negative is that the dining room can feel a little cold so a wrap would be useful. Otherwise a most attractive venue with excellent service.

I booked a table of 7 for my birthday yesterday. All the food we had was lovely (it's unusual for not one to be picky and have a complaint) We could hear each over talk, although my grandad decided not to put new batteries in his hearing aid! The service was great. The lads were enthusiastic and accommodating. Putting a candle in my crumble was really cute! We will be back, thank you!

We had gone for a roast dinner with my 1.5 year old daughter, which was a lovely roast. Unfortunately at the end of our lunch my daughter was finishing her peas when she started to choke on them. I could not thank your employee Josh enough for his help. He came straight over the second he realised something was wrong and offered his help right away. He then called an ambulance and stayed with us until he left, constantly checking on us and offering to get things for us. Thank you so much Josh for helping us in that scary moment and I hope his efforts will be appreciated.
