Average meal; not a patch on Otter Nurseries, Devon. We ate lunch here ordering a jacket potato and a tuna panini. The panini was bland with very little filling and arrived with a side salad consisting of one cherry tomato and a few green leaves. The potato filling was equally uninspired. We eat regularly at Otter Nurseries, Devon and have always experienced far higher quality than here so why would the Lymington staff/manager allow such average offerings of food? There are other restaurants and garden centres locally that provide more inspiring lunch. We will not be returning.

Loads of parking, toilets well signposted. Wheelchairs are available for customer use, very useful as Otter is huge. Would be useful if location of chairs was more clearly advertised, as unless you use customer wc you would not be aware that they are available. Café is great, but could be more accessible for wheelchair users as space is tight. Overall, a great day out for anyone of a certain age,or who loves their garden.

The plant centre was great. The restaurant had a nice layout, spacious. The staff were nice, although wouldn't supply cutlery when the food atrived, but most of all - shame about the food. Wow! I’ve never been to such a huge garden centre. There was everything you would ever need there. I could have spent all day there but my husband had to keep me from emptying our bank account 😂 We had a cooked full English breakfast to start the day which there was plenty and tasted very nice and was obviously a favourite on a Sunday as there were lots of people / locals arriving all the time. The staff were very friendly. It’s a shame that we have nothing where I live like this…. or maybe just as well we don’t as I’d be forever visiting.

Went in to have a morning coffee, and chose one of the Cheese and Bacon scones, which was absolutely delicious. These scones are excellent value for money being quite large. I have also had the cheese one, and my wife usually has the fruit scone with her latte. Having been to several of the garden centres cafe recently, where I have found the scones to have got smaller and smaller but still charge the same price, these at Otters are by far the best value.

Bright, modern, well appointed tea rooms located in the garden centre. service is quick and friendly. Quality coffee and teas so why the poor rating. I have never had such horrid cake. Chocolate and orange cake was smothered in a tasteless whipped up topping. seriously just tasted of margarine, revolting. owners need to be more selective about what they serve as it could be exceptional. Cutting corners using cheap ingredients or cheap suppliers really let this one down.

Our first vist - a lovely relaxed lunch, followed by browsing and buying some plants we'd been looking for.As garden centres go, it's large, with a generous selection of many plants, from favourites to some really interesting varieties. In the café for lunch: my wife really enjoyed her ham and cheese pannini. Again, with salad and crisps. Teas for two. Total: £17.20. Very good value we thought. It's self-service, with the very nice staff bringing hot food to your table. Such comfy seating too, in the large café.Lots of parking, easy to find, very nice toilets just inside the entrance, (how about adding a plant or two?), with everything well laid out and easy to find, inside and out. Lovely clean cafe with friendly helpful and happy staff. The food was delicious, not greasy at all and cooked very well. Tasted like local fresh produce and plenty on the plate even though it was a breakfast offer. Staff anticipated plenty of people in for breakfast as voucher expires end of this week so tables were cleared quickly after people left to make room for people paying in the till but there was not a sense of being rushed and plenty of tables overall anyway. Such a beautiful garden centre so it’s nice to have a potter around after your food.

Whether you are going just to sample the food in the restaurant or go to buy plant etc, you will not be disappointed. The choice of plants and ancillories is huge and the site is well laid out both under cover and indoors. The restaurant is self service ie you place your order at the counter and if it is a meal, they give you a display number and bring your food to the table. There is a facility by which you can place your dirty dishes back on your tray and place it on a tiered trolly on the way out. Not compulsary, but nevertheless appreciated by the staff, particularly in busy periods. (Rather like Ikea!) The site is very wheel chair friendly.

We come here on a regular basis and have not only been delighted with their set up as a garden centre, but also rated their cafe and have had lunch there on many ocasions. This time however was a let down. Keeping it simple we both ordered a prawn sandwhich with marie rose dressing in brown granular bread. First of all the prawns were tiny and were probably of the fresh water variety. They were also completely tasteless. Marie Rose sauce? where was it. Is was so meagre it was hardly worth their while putting it in and as for the bread, it was granular but white (well sort of off white) and definitely not brown.

We booked for our two children (3 & 4) to see Father Christmas at the nurseries, bit we as parents were very disappointed. The grotto was nice and the area Father Christmas Day was nice but there was no place to ba able to take any photos of your children’s faces while speaking to him just the backs of their heads. Also Father Christmas just asked loads of questions and did not listen to anything the children said. When it come to the photo at the end it was tragic. There must be a better way of taking a photo of warmth without breaking ridiculous rukes around being close to children. Parents are there so either. Have the children sitting on his kneee or at least close enough for a hug. After they got to pick a present each and this was exciting until you realise the presents are repeated on the walls and the choice is very limited. Our children chose the plasticine heads and the 3D puzzle. The plasticine heads were thrown away within an hour as the box was incomplete and did not work and the 3 d puzzle was good for one build.

One of our favourite places for a cup of tea and coffee and delicious cake. The surroundings either inside or out are very pleasant and it was a joy today to enjoy our coffee in the peaceful autumn sun surrounded by plants and flowers, or so we thought until we realised that a Christmas display of laughing reindeers was so loud that we could hear it from ouside. This spoilt the experience and we couldn’t wait to leave. It is still October, nowhere near Christmas, and I pity the staff who have to put up with the constant loud noise, at least we had a choice and we choose not to return until after Christmas.
