Otter Nurseries of Lymington in New Forest

We had gone for a roast dinner with my 1.5 year old daughter, which was a lovely roast. Unfortunately at the end of our lunch my daughter was finishing her peas when she started to choke on them. I could not thank your employee Josh enough for his help. He came straight over the second he realised something was wrong and offered his help right away. He then called an ambulance and stayed with us until he left, constantly checking on us and offering to get things for us. Thank you so much Josh for helping us in that scary moment and I hope his efforts will be appreciated.

Disappointed to see a huge range of artificial plants which surely goes against the ethos of a garden centre in supporting our natural world and ecosystem.

First visit reasonable prices and good variety of goods and plants. Friendly staff, nice caffeteria and food We are now frequent visitors to our favourite garden centre. Excellent choice, quality and priced products.

First visit in about 7 years (apart from Covid I have no excuses for not visiting sooner). Took mum with me. Firstly, an increase of disabled parking spaces from my last visit. Walking in, spotted toilets and a coffee shop that weren't there on my last visit, I shall frequent them in my next visit. The inside area has been greatly expanded to now include non-nursery items such as cards, gifts etc. A great range that I haven't seen at other local nurseries. The Christmas displays were excellent although I really despise Christmas displays as early as September (I'm sure others do too). Was looking for two shrubs, lavender and hebes. A well-known nursery in Christchurch was charging £25 for these items and far too much money for me. These were of a good size and less than £20 per item. Having searched I couldn't find them at first. Was helped by a lovely member of staff who showed me where they were, she even went and fetched a trolley for me and offered to push it (I needed it to lean on so declined but a lovely gesture and not encountered this at other nurseries). She mentioned that they had displayed at The Chelsea Flower Show and ended up buying some lavender that had been part of that display. Got lost in time and was told they were now shut and so made my way to the check-out. Mum had bought some things that she was happy with. Definately making another visit and woukd advise others to visit too.

Decided to give the Lymington Branch as we are holiday and live near the Ottery St Mary Branch which we visit regularly. Brilliant store and the food in the Coffee Shop was fantastic probably be back again before we go home⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely garden centre. Masses of different plants, household items, at reasonable prices. Also great cafe with some fabulous cakes. When we visited, just over a week ago, they were flooding the place with Christmas stuff 😥

Allow alot of time to look round and buy as a big place. Sunday lunch ok but not as good as I was expecting and won't be buying it again. Meat was very grisly although my partners was much better so varies.

Rubbish out of date store. Not allowed in with well behaved puppy. Will not be going again, nor will my friends. Not very friendly.

We have been going here for years, probably our favourite. Dan, Karen and Sam are friendly and helpful and the rest of the staff work very hard. However, will someone please tell the kitchen staff that well done toast is not burnt toast as it so often is and inedible. The nursery is well stocked with helpful staff but the lock on one of the ladies toilets is missing and has been so for many months. There was a notice on it for a while but that has disappeared.

Came for breakfast at a cost of £26 all in …….food overcooked and oddly served almost cold. Usually good so very disappointed this time round.

Very well laid out, nice food too

This was our first visit today. Before you get in there is a big well appointed car park. What a place, absolutely huge with such a great stock and displays. I should think if there was something they didn't have.... You didn't need it in the first place. A clean, tidy space with plenty of room to walk around. Appears to be great value for money as well. Came away with a couple of plants.

Very nice garden centre. Usual sorts of things available to buy. These change seasonally. There is a cafe which does reasonably priced food and drink. It does have vegan and gluten free options. There is a dog friendly space outside the entrance for eating/drinking with a furry friend.

Everything is nicely set out,staff are very helpful and friendly, we had a roast dinner when we were there, it was lovely.

I visited Otter nurseries today and what an absolute delight the plants are so well kept it is extremely well organised and I only wish I had a bigger garden. I also visited the cafe were my husband and I had a lovely meal. I will definitely be back. Well done to you guys exceptional ♥️♥️♥️

Excellent selection of superb plants, gardening equipment, furniture, and accessories for your garden. Restaurant has a superb menu as well.

We are often in otters to have a look round and buy plants and knickknacks. Everything is very well priced. We always have a drink there and my husband likes to go early so that we can have breakfast can’t sort the food very nice and well priced.

Dropped in for a spot of lunch with the old folk. Quick service and all went down well!

Very nice. Lots of different stuff there, from plants, to ornaments, to garden accessories. Even a food court (cafe/restaurant).

We visited the Otter Nursery primarily to have a mid-morning coffee but were surprised by the size of the nursery and extent of it’s products- could have (but were unable to) spend much longer there. By the way the coffee was very nice.

Just received a rose via mail order.Best price available on the internet for this particular rose. Prompt delivery of an excellent, really healthy rose. Could not be happier and I will definitely be visiting the Lymington branch and using the mail order again. Thank you Otter Nurseries.

This garden centre has one of the best cafes we have been to. From ordering to delivery of the food the staff are friendly and engaging. Food is served promptly and there is a very good selection of hot and cold food.

Average meal; not a patch on Otter Nurseries, Devon. We ate lunch here ordering a jacket potato and a tuna panini. The panini was bland with very little filling and arrived with a side salad consisting of one cherry tomato and a few green leaves. The potato filling was equally uninspired. We eat regularly at Otter Nurseries, Devon and have always experienced far higher quality than here so why would the Lymington staff/manager allow such average offerings of food? There are other restaurants and garden centres locally that provide more inspiring lunch. We will not be returning.

Garden center ok but cafe no no!

Loads of parking, toilets well signposted. Wheelchairs are available for customer use, very useful as Otter is huge. Would be useful if location of chairs was more clearly advertised, as unless you use customer wc you would not be aware that they are available. Café is great, but could be more accessible for wheelchair users as space is tight. Overall, a great day out for anyone of a certain age,or who loves their garden.

There's a huge range like most nurseries but I've got to say it's the staff that make the difference!! Jane went above and beyond to make my Christmas Tree amazing 🎄

Absolutely lovely garden centre only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 as it doesn’t allow dogs,I can fully understand no dogs in the restaurant or near any food stuff,but a well behaved dog on a lead in a garden centre shouldn’t be a problem.

The plant centre was great. The restaurant had a nice layout, spacious. The staff were nice, although wouldn't supply cutlery when the food atrived, but most of all - shame about the food. The chicken, ham and leek pie was bland, and the ham egg and chips were nothing to write home about, same about the lattes.££😑

A great place for all your garden needs but was very disappointed as online website states no dogs but I witnessed a member of staff allowing a customer to take their dog in when they asked....I had left my dog at home ......

Excellent roast beef, chicken, and nut roast! Five different veggies, nice gravy......friendly service, good value for money. Tip.....phone and reserve a roast ....gets very busy!

Lovely restaurant with easy access for wheelchairs. Had lovely lunch and coffee and bought two sultana scones to eat in our lodge. Quite large, great flavour and excellent value. They do a very good Sunday roast and suggest you book in advance.

I visited Otters restaurant today and chose roast beef. It was cold and tasteless. I mentioned it to the lady serving but they were so busy I didn't pursue the complaint. I'll not eat there again.

Started visiting restaurant regularly. Menu choice fine for a garden centre.Staff as welcoming, friendly and helpful as any I have ever met.Decent sized portions of consistently good quality.

Wow! I’ve never been to such a huge garden centre. There was everything you would ever need there. I could have spent all day there but my husband had to keep me from emptying our bank account 😂 We had a cooked full English breakfast to start the day which there was plenty and tasted very nice and was obviously a favourite on a Sunday as there were lots of people / locals arriving all the time. The staff were very friendly. It’s a shame that we have nothing where I live like this…. or maybe just as well we don’t as I’d be forever visiting.

Came here with hubby today - 1 roast beef & 1 roast chicken - £10.95 each. Very good value - nice meat & roast potatoes & selection of veg, plenty of gravy. Busy but efficient & staff seemed friendly. Good choice of menu - would come again.

Went in to have a morning coffee, and chose one of the Cheese and Bacon scones, which was absolutely delicious. These scones are excellent value for money being quite large. I have also had the cheese one, and my wife usually has the fruit scone with her latte. Having been to several of the garden centres cafe recently, where I have found the scones to have got smaller and smaller but still charge the same price, these at Otters are by far the best value.

The food is always very good here. Serve the best scrambled eggs, in my opinion & sunday roasts are very good indeed. Wide selection of food. Breakfasts & lunch & afternoon tea, scones and cakes. Been coming here for years and staff are friendly

I know garden centres in general are generally expensive but paid £9.95 for what all I could say was a child's portion of macaroni cheese.!!! Ate in 5 minutes and that's eating slowly! Will not return to eat. No comment on actual garden centre.

Visited several times due to local power problems. Good coffee, lovely cakes, plus mobile signal available!! Airy, spacious rooms.

We have recently started to use the coffee shop for coffee Mon to Friday. We have an early morning twice or three times a week and lunch on two occasions. For a coffee we spend up to 50minutes and head for the leather couch if...

As others have said, the latte coffee is awful and in a tiny glass. The food is nothing special and overpriced for what it is. The shop is interesting though and stock a good range of plants.

I have been for a coffee a couple of times and love the cafe, but they can't make a proper latte. It is weak and luke warm but you pay the same price! They don't seem to be concerned at all. The scones are nice...

Booked in for thirteen on a coach tour and had the cream tea to die for. Very friendly staff and can certainly say the cram team was certainly value for money. I have been arranging coach tours for over twenty years and several with cream...

My wife and myself met friends there for breakfast. They were unable to cook poached eggs, even though several People asked. Quite disappointed with this.

Sorry to say but myself and friends found the food overpriced and just average. We had ham, egg and chips which was about £8.95 and it was on par with what they serve in the local Sainsbury's cafe for half the price. Coffee wasn't great...

Passed Otters a few times and decided to pay a visit. Big and well equipped with a hugh indoor eating area and also outside. So hot that we eat inside. Service very good and covid safe.
