Iâve visited this pub a number of times and since itâs refurb it looks much better. However, like many hospitality venues they are struggling for staff. We have called in on 2 occasions to see a sign up at the bar saying kitchen closed due to staff shortage. That said, when you can get food itâs always good quality pub food!

I'm a real fan of The Bolney Stage, I've been visiting for over 30 years. But the fish and chips I had last night was just not good enough at any price, let alone ÂŁ17.45. The fish was undercooked, so much so that halfway through, having discovered that the thickest part of the fillet was barely warm and the batter uncooked beneath the crust, I had to send it back for a re-fry. Presentation of the dish was none too clever either, with a broad pool of rather runny mushy peas, and a wide scattering of chips. The other two diners were happier with their meals, but neither said the food was excellent. I'll go again, but I'll be expecting better next time.

Visited in a group of 7 on Saturday night at peak time of 7.30. The place was full however we had first class service from Angus who was attentive to our needs and clearly happy in his job - nothing was too much trouble for him. Multiple different choices for starters and mains but all arrived smoothly and together. My meat balls starter and the main of chianti pasta ragu were both delicious. We had a good table in a corner away from the hustle and bustle which meant that we could all chat during our birthday celebrations - Zizzi were very happy to serve the birthday cake that we took along and Angus was pretty good with his singing of Happy Birthday. 5 star and highly recommended.

We ordered a Chinese takeaway this evening, It all went in the bin. What an absolute catastrophic thrown together mess, turned up practically cold, Do not order from here, it looks awful and tastes worse. If you do decide to order from here, I strongly advise against ordering the duck pancake rolls because all thatâs in them is chopped up onion and a shred of what is supposed to be a bit of duck. The ribs didnât taste right at all , very tough and over dry and after one bite I could tell they tasted pretty odd, couldnât even get something as simple as chips correct, wet and soggy and cold in the middle. Absolutely disgraceful. Not one dish we ordered was satisfactory. The one star is for the broccoli dish that was a begrudged pass, not great but not as awful as the other dishes although it still went in the bin after tasting it as by this point I was put off. Complete Waste of money.

Just awful. Gave it a second chance. Horrible tasting chicken. From a tin? When I told the serving lady that it was horrible and I could not eat it she just asked if I wanted to take it home! The rest of the food was poor to mediocre. Very unpleasant. The chicken dish was on the bill, although it was obvious it was virtually untouched. Didnât quibble, couldnât wait to get out of there. Service slow.

We don't go so much since the restaurant offers on the app have changed. Now finding other places with better offers. The cake is definitely getting smaller. We think it's funny how they try to make the cake look bigger by putting it on smaller plates. The coffee could be better. The staff are lovely particularly in the restaurant. Toby and kiera are always happy to help. Plenty to see as this is one of the bigger garden centres. A good selection of products.

This used to be a very popular place, having not eaten here for many years dropped in for dinner recently. The place was quiet being a weeknight, a few people in and out to collect takeaways though. Service was friendly and efficient, food wasn't bad but I've had much better. It's not the cheapest either.

A really friendly local pub with welcoming staff and a dog-friendly bar. The drinks were good and the food was great. The pie of the day was delicious, and all our party enjoyed their meals including a pizza, scampi and a burger. Reasonably priced, good food and a friendly atmosphere

Donât bother ! Years ago this takeaway used to be the best in town, since the 70âs itâs changed chefs/management various times and youâd expect a little variation but this eveningâs takeaway was awfully bland, poor quality and we were given the wrong dish, despite the girl repeating our order at the counter. The Sweet & Sour Prawn Balls we ordered turned out to be tough dry Pork Balls at home, we couldnât eat them they were so dry and tough (see pic). The Special fried rice had nothing special about it. It was dry, flavourless and uninspiring with tiny chopped bits of meat, egg and peas. (See pic) The House Chow Mein used to have slices of Char Siu, beef, jumbo prawns and chicken bursting with vibrant flavours with spring onion and garlic BUT not anymore, the noodles tasted like theyâd been stored in an old plastic container as the dish had that tainted flavour. The Chicken Satay was clearly factory produced and brought in, it was stringy breast moulded into shape densely coated with the sauce. It really wasnât nice at all. I gave them 1 star because my son was able to eat the free prawn crackers, not bad for ÂŁ25.70, never again. Tasted so bland, we left 90% of it !!

Went for a coffee. Was very busy with very few staff working just two, one was tied up serving and making iced drinks and nothing else the other trying to do everything else they failed to serve many people the queue was long and many people were leaving before ordering. They lost many orders. When I eventually got served the coffee was great, but tables werenât being cleared because of lack of staff
