Really lovely pub with great food. Been several times for lunch and dinner. Good food every time. Very dog friendly. Well priced. Big car park and lovely outdoor area with shaded tables available
My partner and I visit here frequently, Mark and the team are always so welcoming even when rushed off their feet.
Great food and atmosphere, lovely pub grub.
Terrible weather so thought of treating myself to a lovely Chinese and what an amazing meal, we had ordered for delivery for chicken ball, crispy beef, sring rolls, special rice and have to mention their singapore rice noodle were delicious, will definitely returning for more delicious food and highly recommended 👍👍👍
My boyfriend and I came for dinner this evening and had lovely skewers, chicken parmigiana, with a side of chips and shredded chicken, would definitely recommend. Served by the lovely Erin and felt well looked after, would love to go again :)
I'm a real fan of The Bolney Stage, I've been visiting for over 30 years. But the fish and chips I had last night was just not good enough at any price, let alone ÂŁ17.45. The fish was undercooked, so much so that halfway through, having discovered that the thickest part of the fillet was barely warm and the batter uncooked beneath the crust, I had to send it back for a re-fry.
Presentation of the dish was none too clever either, with a broad pool of rather runny mushy peas, and a wide scattering of chips.
The other two diners were happier with their meals, but neither said the food was excellent.
I'll go again, but I'll be expecting better next time.
A pleasant simple lunch with friends. Staff were welcoming and efficient. Restaurant was clean and bright, though the music was a bit loud. Pizzas were excellent. Would go again .
After eating here a few years ago and enjoying it, I thought I would try again after new management and hearing good things.
Staff were friendly and accommodating BUT food was appalling. We actually couldn't finish it and I left feeling sick, feel ill just thinking about it. Haven't eaten such bad food before, it was shocking. Will never go back. Wish I had read the reviews on here before going!
EG Charcoal Grill is hands down my favourite takeaway spot! I’ve been coming here for a long time now and they never disappoint. The food is absolutely delicious, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. The meat is tender and well-seasoned, and the fresh salads and sauces complemented it perfectly.
What makes EG Charcoal Grill stand out is not just the food but also the friendly service. The staff are always accommodating and make sure every order is spot on.The restaurant is also clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. Whether I’m grabbing a quick dinner or ordering for the family, I know I can rely on them for great quality and generous portions.
If you’re looking for a top-notch kebab shop, I highly recommend EG Charcoal Grill. It’s my go-to, and I’ll definitely keep coming back!
On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist. She led us to a podium and asked us to wait there and a member of staff would greet us. We stood for quite some time (long enough for the receptionist to return and apologise for our wait) before we were eventually shown to our table.
The table was in fact two small occasional tables and the chairs were low with a very deep seat making it impossible to sit with the back supported. Mind you that was better than other guests who were perched on stools.
There were just six finger sandwiches between us so less than one round of sandwiches each. I looked at the menu and realised that we had not been served the egg mayo brioche roll. It took a while to gain a servers attention as they did not remain in the room. I was abruptly told I could have an egg roll but it would be £5 extra! I pointed out that it was on the menu as included and she then said “Oh you didn’t get them. I thought you wanted extra.” The rolls duly arrived. They were no bigger than the size of my thumb.
And the sausage roll was even smaller, not even bite size.
Onto the scones. These were warm and light in texture, more like bread than scones. There were two each, one plain and one which should have been fruit. It contained one sultana. We were luckier than another group of guests who had to return their scones because they weren’t cooked in the middle.
There were four mini cakes each. All quite pretty but not particularly flavoursome. I’m sure when I visited previously there was a mini dessert of some description. It was certainly better value than this offering.
When we wanted extra tea my husband had to leave the room to find someone to serve us.
We had a voucher for the afternoon tea and were not asked for the additional service charge. I certainly would not have paid this discretionary fee as the poor service didn’t warrant it.
In summary it was a pleasant tea in pleasant surroundings but not the outstanding or luxurious tea that you would expect from a five star establishment.
We don't go so much since the restaurant offers on the app have changed. Now finding other places with better offers. The cake is definitely getting smaller. We think it's funny how they try to make the cake look bigger by putting it on smaller plates. The coffee could be better. The staff are lovely particularly in the restaurant. Toby and kiera are always happy to help. Plenty to see as this is one of the bigger garden centres. A good selection of products.
This used to be a very popular place, having not eaten here for many years dropped in for dinner recently.
The place was quiet being a weeknight, a few people in and out to collect takeaways though.
Service was friendly and efficient, food wasn't bad but I've had much better. It's not the cheapest either.
A really friendly local pub with welcoming staff and a dog-friendly bar. The drinks were good and the food was great. The pie of the day was delicious, and all our party enjoyed their meals including a pizza, scampi and a burger. Reasonably priced, good food and a friendly atmosphere
TERRIBLE SERVICE. I got served by a rude spoilt brat called “Keela”. She didn’t put my order through and was constantly chatting a gossiping with her colleagues. After 10 mins I asked where my drink was. No one had made it. I told them I’d like my drink as I’d been waiting a while (they weren’t serving anyone else). Keela then decides to print the receipt and throw it in my face to prove I’d only been waiting 10 mins. I told her that was extremely rude she then says “WHATEVER”. And then stares at me up and down for 20 seconds while her colleague makes me a caffeinated drink in a mug (I asked for decaf to go). After I asked for the right drink, I went to leave the place and Keela shouts “THANK YOU” at me. I’ve never been so shocked and appalled at the customer service. This place needs to invest in better recruitment and training processes. The reviews here says it all. Disgraceful.
