Visited in a group of 7 on Saturday night at peak time of 7.30. The place was full however we had first class service from Angus who was attentive to our needs and clearly happy in his job - nothing was too much trouble for him. Multiple different choices for starters and mains but all arrived smoothly and together. My meat balls starter and the main of chianti pasta ragu were both delicious. We had a good table in a corner away from the hustle and bustle which meant that we could all chat during our birthday celebrations - Zizzi were very happy to serve the birthday cake that we took along and Angus was pretty good with his singing of Happy Birthday. 5 star and highly recommended.

Feeling cross at myself for not reading the reviews before going! Slow service from the start, starters and desserts were nice but my son’s starter came out later than the rest of ours. Then my main course was completely forgotten about by the chef!!! Comical! So I ate after everyone had finished. Pizza was disgusting, awfully dry! I couldn’t eat it! Ate 1/4 when the waitress asked if I wanted to take it home I said no thanks. Hilarious she still charged me for my pizza even with the delay and not eating much! Had I not paid by my Tesco clubcard points I think I would have said something but to be honest with you we all wanted to leave. To round the (2 hour) experience off the waitress gave us the wrong bill! Luckily my husband noticed! I would not return nor recommend, sorry it’s not a positive from me 😔

My family and I went to Zizzi Haywards Heath for lunch we all had pizza’s unfortunately the base was not crispy the toppings were very thin with a meagre about of meat and vegetables hardly any tomato base sauce, needs more work on flavours and seasoning to make it above average. The waitress seemed stressed trying her best, not enough staff I don’t understand why the Zizzi in Guildford ( where we often go) is so much better a disappointing lunch all round be won’t be back.

underwhelming - understaffed, and over worked in a busy evening service. Slow service, over loaded with constant flow of "Deliveroo's" - why odes a busy restaurant need this extra hassle - phone ringing constantly and not getting answered. Wrong order came, we queried it, but it appeared "waitress had mis-heard" we she checked our order - when bill arrived, order was correct, as we had asked for? Why therefore did waitress think we had mis-ordered? Food was nice I was happy to tip, as it's not staff fault if management can't provide enough staff, (now that's another story - a result of Brexit I imagine) - but declined when I discovered the error in the order was not mine!

Absolutely terrible! Slow service. Food was awful. I sent mine back because it was undercooked and tasted bad. The waiter couldn’t care less then tried to charge me for my uneaten meal! Save yourself your time and money and go somewhere else to eat.

Zizzi in Haywards Heath: We came in group of four, there were only four other tables and we've been waiting a while before being asked about drinks. We ordered drinks and waited for them 20 minutes! When they finally arrived they were a big disappointment. Basically ice with some juice and shot of alcohol, tasted terrible. After getting the drinks we waited a while to have our food ordered, unfortunately, waitress was so lost in the menu on the tablet/phone thingie, it took ages, she was hanging over our table for a while, we genuinely thought she's going grab a chair to join us, the other waitress did exactly the same, bending over the table to tap on her tablet, didn't look very professional. We waited 20 minutes for our starters, another half an hour for the mains and none of either of those were brought all at once, there were few minutes gaps between the dishes being served to each one of us. Starters: the garlic dough bomb or whatever it's called was so bloody sweet it was easy to mistake it for a dessert since there was barely any garlic I could taste in it, it was extremely greasy to the point that oil was dripping off the dough and bottom of my plate was covered in oil, calamari were not very calamari-ish, they were all cut in pieces so looked like gooey strings, not really crispy, not very tasty, for some reason very spicy? Mains were horrible, the chicken prosciutto salad was was (gladly!) with fresh veggies but the chicken tasted like nothing, it was dry and absolutely tasteless, disgusting! The sticky pig pizza is something I can't understand, the one half with white tasteless yogurt or God knows what was it, is a big misunderstanding, the other half with tiniest bit of meat, horrible sauce and some random veggies thrown in few places. Carbonara has never seen a cooking book with recipe for actual carbonara, it has nothing to do with Italian kitchen. Desserts: tiramisu is a complete joke and misunderstanding, not a taste of coffee, lack of mascarpone and some gold dust on the top to make up for terrible taste, unbelievable! I was asking for staff's attention multiple times but girls were clearly more interested in chit-chatting, leaning over the bar and looking at the ceiling than actually helping customers. At the end we were charged additional £27, I understand mistakes can happen but waitress wasn't very apologetic, she actually seemed annoyed that we pointed out her mistake and she added the tip herself before even asking whether we would like to leave a tip or not. Once we paid a half of the bill she said it was declined even though we clearly saw the payment has been approved a second after payment was made. At the end, as soon as she received the payments, she whispered "thank you" and ran for her life. Not a "enjoy your day", no "fvck you", just thanks that you have paid for the food you ordered. Zizzi in Eastbourne was amazing, it was the best, great and tasty food, great quality, lovely and kind staff, what the hell is that one in Haywards Heath?! Please do a favour to Italians and people respecting them and their cuisine and get rid of "Italian restaurant" from your name, you have nothing to do with Italy or Italian culture, stop scamming people. ALSO: THERE IS NO PARKING, SO FAKE ADVERTISING.

The worst experience at Zizzis Haywards Heath restaurant. Chicken wing starters were freezing cold and the meat pink in the middle. Main course also cold - when returned to the kitchen the chefs ‘put their fingers in it who said it was not cold’ Called a liar off the manager who refused to say what her name was (hardly a surprise - I wouldn’t want my employer knowing how I treated guests!) Still had to pay full price as I clearly wasn’t being honest about the cold food and would rather send things back so our party would all eat at different times!

Myself and my wife took our Granddaughter here for lunch last week and it was a terrible experience from the word go. Having been seated and handed the menus we waited ages before a waitress came to ask us what drinks we would like. Having given the drinks we wanted to her she said she would be back shortly to take the food order. She then seemed unsure when my wife immediately replied that we were ready to order the food now especially as we had spent the last 15 minutes looking at the menus whilst waiting for some service. I ordered the Hot Smoked Salmon Carbonara which was described as pasta with flakes of hot smoked salmon and prawns in a creamy sauce. My wife ordered the smoked salmon salad with avocado and my Granddaughter had the childrens meal of spaghetti bolognaise followed by a pot of fresh strawberries. Who would even think that such a simple order could possibly go wrong? After another lengthy wait my Granddaughters main course and my carbonara arrived but nothing for my wife. One assumed that the waitress could only carry two meals and would return immediately with the third meal. But no, we waited and waited and eventually I actually started my meal before the salad arrived. No apologies just put down on the table. My carbonara was dreadful. The advertised 'creamy' sauce was thick and congealed and looked as if it was made days ago and dried up and heated in the microwave. Certainly was not freshly made. The menu advertises 'King Prawns' in the plural sense. By the end of the meal I had found just one prawn and it would be debatable whether it was king size or smaller. All served in a cold bowl and the pasta itself was luke warm. My wifes salad looked far from appetising and there was no avocado to be seen anywhere. When the waitress passed by the table we asked her about the missing avocado. Her reply was simply that they must have run out and walked away. Next came my Granddaughters dessert of dish of fresh strawberries. It took over 20 minutes for these to arrive once ordered after she had finished the main course which itself had lots of spaghetti but the meat sauce was very watery and lacked much meat. When the strawberries eventually arrived it was nothing more than two strawberries with the tops cut off and sliced into quarters. The Granddaughter only ate one piece before she pointed out that most of the pieces were 'rotten' and upon inspection were not really fir for consumption. Again we drew this to the attention of a waitress who apologised and said she would inform the manager but no offer of getting a different dessert etc. Overall a dreadful meal obviously served up out of microwaved packets and no thought about quality or presentation. On top of that the small bottles of coke that we ordered came warm, massively overpriced and we were charged more than the advertised menu price but I did not discover this until I got home to check the bill against the advertised menu. So, two adult main courses both of very poor standard and not even meeting the description of what was advertised together with a childs meal and one drink each came to £49. It was only because we had a voucher to cover the cost that I paid. If there was no voucher I would have only offered half the amount as the food and service was so poor. Despite highlighting the shortcomings to staff we were never offered any apology from management, no form of compensation such as an alternative meal or substitute for missing items. Would never use this chain of restaurants again. Can get better quality food and service elsewhere for a cheaper price. I have given the review one star as its not possible to give less but would if I could.

Given the many negative reviews left on this site I presume that we must have visited on an "off night" as the two of us actually enjoyed both our visit and our meal at ZiZi's. We hadn't been to a ZiZi's for several years and based upon these negative reviews I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive when we arrived (we had a gift voucher to use hence the visit) but given the pleasant welcome we received on arriving (young lady in grey) to our helpful server (Charmaine?) via yet another helpful gentleman that sorted out issues we had with our gift voucher then overall it was a very happy experience. For the price I thought that the food was very good value for money. If I had any quibbles I would say that based upon the ZiZi website the set menu was not made available and that one or two prices shown on the website were different to what was printed on the menu given to us . Also my wife's seabass meal was missing several advertised constituents e.g. no olives, no artichokes, no 'sunblushed tomatoes' (not sure what they are), no courgette ribbons (presumably courgette peelings) and no fire-roasted peppers. Not sure if that was an oversight or just penny-pinching. Anyway, penny-pinchers will be pleased to know that no tip was added to the bill (to avoid any criticism from reviewers I did leave a well deserved 10% gratuity based upon the full price of the meal and not based upon the price of the meal after the use of my gift voucher).

We dined at Haywards Heath Zizzi's for the first time and most definitely the last. The service was non existence. there were only 3 tables of 2 people in the whole restaurant when we came in and one table were almost finished leaving us and another couple. we ordered out starters which were not too long of a wait but the main took almost 40 mins to arrive, we only ordered basic pizzas so nothing different from the basic menu. The non alcohol cocktails was just like squash and the dessert was dreadful. we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours and not a good experience. There were at least 3 members of staff that we could see but all they seemed to do was stand at the bar and chat. When we asked for the bill we were told they do not do paper bills but after we paid she produced one , overall not a pleasing experience. Overall it as appalling and will certainly not be returning

Service was fine, it is the quality of the food. The signature beef and chianti ragu sounded amazing. It was anything but. Tough, chewy pasta, watery ragu, cheap mince meat, little flavour. The waitress offered to change it but the replacement was exactly the same. Exactly. Obviously a meal just heated up from the freezer. That was also returned. I queried the quality of the ingredients, and teh waitress asuured me it was frshly made, including the pasta. To which I asked "so the pasta is made fresh on the premises before each service?" The reply, "not made on the premises". So, not fresh then. An awful experience.

July 2023, a group of us arrived for lunch and couldn't get in, the place was jam packed. I returned 2nd September with my daughter for a late lunch at 4pm, we were the only customers in the whole place. We were shown to a dirty, sticky table by an English girl with pink hair, who then vanished for ages, I had to get up and go looking for someone to take our drinks order after about 8 minutes. The now flustered looking waitress re-appeared and I explained the table was filthy and we were moving. We literally went from one sticky table to another. Unbelievable. I looked around and all the tables were dirty in some way or another. These people are so lazy they can't even be bothered to clean them properly. She was not happy with me and has a very poor and immature attitude. Seven minutes later, my glass of coke hadn't arrived. I had to go looking for it. Went to the ground floor level, tow staff behind the front desk on mobile phones, everyone else at the back having a laugh with the non-Italian chef. Went to the desk asking about my drink and told them the service was really slack. I literally had to drag someone away from their phone to bring my drink over. She apologised very nicely and explained she had no idea where our waitress was. Having a vape I expect. My daughter's pizza arrived, it was great, and hot. My truffle carbonara arrived, it was tepid and dried out. I refused it straight away. Then someone who I believe was most likely the Italian owner's daughter arrived to apologize and said it was being re-made fresh and I would not be billed for it. It arrived and it was hot but the sauce was very, very thin. I would not have it again, it was poor. Our replacement waitress was really attentive and checked a few times all was OK and brought our Tiramisu which was amazing. No tips for these staff and no return trip for me. I would not eat here again if it was all free. If I was the boss, I would be sacking a few staff here, utterly useless bunch of lazy English girls.

Unfriendly and unwelcoming from the offset. Very noisy, despite choosing what we hoped would be a quiet corner. The starters weren't anything special but somewhat edible. For my main I ordered the pork and garlic meatballS...yes, plural... I don't even think there was one single meatball in total, and it was just all broken up and sprinkled over the top of what was an absolute mountain of cheap white pasta that had been thoroughly over cooked and I have no idea where the rich roasted tomato sauce was!!! Absolute shambles. My friend ordered a chicken pasta dish she had had a few times before at the Zizzi in Brighton and this one was nowhere near similar to what she was expecting. I told the waiting staff not to charge me for my pasta as I'm very unimpressed with the lack of balance between the quantity of pasta and the topping. We came to pay and was told no receipt can be issued as it's now paperless and also cashless, so it's a blessing they decided not to charge me for the starter as I was only going to be using the legal tender of cash. The most disappointing part of it all was that I didn't even get an apology which would have prevented me having to share my experience of the HH branch. I will never return to this branch again. On the other hand, I can't praise the Brighton Zizzi enough, so I'll just stick with that branch in future.

Poor quality food looked like it had been under a heater lamp for a long time as dried out . Pizza was thin crust but where was the cheese it was hard to find. Pepperoni was dry and curled up . Table for 6 people had a tiny bowl of nibbles between us all surely more than two people they can give a few bowls . Service was not that attentive young staff who had no customer training by the way food was handed over . Totally disappointing will not go back overpriced with poor quality food and service .

It looked good for a family get-together with a varied menu catering for both adults and children. However, the menu misdescribed at least one of the main meals and the food itself was bland and tasteless. Three of us chose Casareccia Della Casa. For 2 of us it looked a particularly good choice as there was no cheese itemised in the ingredients: 'Roasted chicken breast, oven-baked with prosciutto and spinach in a creamy mushroom, pancetta & Madeira wine sauce.' However, when it arrived it had melted cheese on top - not good given the recent publicity surrounding allergens! The meals were replaced minus the cheese but were bland and tasteless and bore little resemblance to the menu pictures. Even the guest who was ok with the cheese described the meal as tasteless and just like eating plain pasta. Not impressed.

On arrival we we informed that there was no heating. Therefore coats stayed on. Service was very slow. When my pizza arrived it was so swimming in grease that I only ate two slices.It was removed from the bill. I didn't order anything else. Before we left we visited the toilet, pretty gross. On entering the premises it was cold but it did warm up after a while. The waitress forgot to tell us what foods they didn't have. The waitress appeared aloof and uncaring. We asked for certain foods for the kids which couldn't be facilitated as evidently they don't have cucumber or bread sticks.we found this hard to believe. The main meals were fine but desserts were Luke warm and the biggest press no popping candy for the kids ice-cream.and then we're told they haven't had any for 4 months. Why is it still on the menu then. This ruined our birthday girls lunch The toilet was disgusting considering this was 1 pm so not opened long. Filthy wet floors and sinks. Absolutely disgusting.tisdues overflowing out of bins. We won't hurry back Awful service ruined our meal. If you g people work for you please make sure they want the job. Greeted initially by friendly staff but it went downhill from there. We felt increasingly uncomfortable as it became very clear there were virtually no starters that were gluten free. We were handed a large folder which we had to work our way through to find anything my friend could even consider, it was tricky matching it to what was on the menu and quite a few dishes were unavailable. Be warned those with a medical condition that the gluten free meals are not going to be gluten free as there is no separate fryer!! Therefore cooked with foods containing gluten so no point really. We won’t be returning, I would not take anyone else there as I felt so bad taking someone there who was treated so badly.

Pre booked this venue for a special occasion for 7 people at 5pm and arrived at 4.45pm and was met by a particularly surly manager who , having showed us to the table, advised that we only have it for 1hr and 15mins before quickly departed before we had time to question this. We then caught the attention of another hostess and asked for clarification of this and was advised by her that that rule only applied to walk ins…we said we weren’t and we’d booked and she said then it should not apply. We then ordered cocktails and mains. Later on the same manager comes to our table and says if we wanted desserts then we would have to order them to take away as our time was up. When we explained we had been advised otherwise because we had ‘booked’ the table and were not walk ins she said that didn’t matter the table needed to be vacated by 6.15pm and that when we accepted the online booking it would have told us in the terms and conditions of this. I have since looked for this and there is no such clause in there booking app or website. She was both rude and surly and had no concern for the fact that this was a family celebration. The whole evening tainted what was a joyous I as soon and her only concern was that we went at 6.15 pm and if we wanted dessert then we would have to take them away with us??! They promote a menus that encourages you to order cocktails with nibbles, starters, mains and a dessert but they expect you to consume all this in 1hr and 15mins. Ridiculous!! You have lost a loyal customer and one that was expecting to have ordered many more drinks, cocktails and desserts that evening which would have doubled our bill. Not that I guess you care!

It was our first time out as a family to a restaurant since lockdown, we had always loved Zizzi so made a booking on line and turned up. We waited at the the stop sign as requested and stood waiting for 15 mins. During that time the two servers saw us and (so did the kitchen staff as we were looking straight at them) but they never acknowledged us and just went about there duties and left us to wait. I can appreciate they might of been busy but even an acknowledgement that they knew we were there and would be back to seat us would of been the professional route to go. After 15 mins of basically being ignored we left and took ourselves to another well known pizza chain 5 mins down the road and the service was night and day.

Not been to this branch before as moved to area just before lockdown.Having not dined here for a long time, took advantage of government £10 per person discount.Arrived about 20 mins early for reservation but table available, service was slow but all staff encountered were pleasant when it did happen.Calzone was pretty nice, salted caramel chocolate brownie was as good as it sounds - was very small for £6.05 though.Table spacing was adequate and staff here don't wear masks so you can see them smile!Nice atmosphere, there are lots of places to eat in Burgess Hill but will return here, always a good deal available with either a voucher or set menu.

The title says it all! Fantastic all around! After 4 months of not dining at zizzi Hayward’s heath I’m glad to see that the service and quality of food hasn’t changed one bit! We were a little anxious about going out for a meal with the current situation but I’m glad we did! Hand sanitiser on arrival and near the toilets and plenty available for staff to use around the building. We noticed one family who kept leaving their table and the managers were constantly asking them politely to sit down to maintain social distancing. I highly recommend dining here!

We went here for dinner, a family catch up after being apart for a long time. Hand sanitiser in lots of places but it look generally dirty, there was so much dirt and food on the floor- no enhanced cleaning here! The food was very average, calzone pizza was just dough, no meaty filling in sight. But the service was appalling, it took almost 2 and a half hours from sitting to leaving to eat some garlic bread and a pizza. That is far too long, we had all given up! It was a nice evening because we were ‘reunited’ with good company, it had nothing to do with the meal or the service.

Mid afternoon lunch, only three tables occupied. I usually come at this time. Nice decor and setting. Food of a standard, although my main differs to quite a degree each time I come and unfortunately this time the ‘cream’ sauce was so watery I didn’t eat it. Waitress took the full dish of food away without questioning the fact it hadn’t really been touched. It wasn’t awful; but it wasn’t good enough. But yet again I had to leave my table to find someone to serve me. This has happened every time I’ve been here. So not a disaster; it was sadly just OK.

We arrived at the restaurant, this is the second visit to the Italian Chain Restaurant. On arrival, there was slight confusion to the name of table booking. There was a table booked for about 15 people at 2pm but the names were muddled up.The menu based on the 3 courses for £19.99 was extremely good value. Back to the staff. Maybe the only negative side.. it was like being in an episode of Fawlty Towers with Staff members dropping olives on the floor by a nearby table, tripping over stairs and even an exploding pizza.With that in mind, I think staff decorum needs serious addressing.Otherwise, food was good, restaurant was clean and price was fair.A generous 4 stars given.

As our first visit to Zizzi I was excited to get my hands on their menu and explore a new world. That happens when you trust you have a goos experience and you do not check you have actually received your entire order. Very disappointing service to say the least and no attention to detail.A sad first experience that did not open my appetite to return!

We have not been to a Zizi for 2 years, but glad we did today. Food and service fabulous. Menu has changed a lot, and must say there were some lovely new additions as well as the original classics. The food as always was delicious. However, our waitress was a bit too thorough, particularly when advising us of how to tip. She advised that if we round up our card payments it doesn't count as a tip and that she only gets 50% if we tip on card. My friend and I both found it rather off putting and made us decide not to tip.
