A really friendly local pub with welcoming staff and a dog-friendly bar. The drinks were good and the food was great. The pie of the day was delicious, and all our party enjoyed their meals including a pizza, scampi and a burger. Reasonably priced, good food and a friendly atmosphere

Just do not go (unless your face fits). It was lovely Saturday Afternoon (29th April) everyone was outside; ventured inside, nobody at the Bar serving, or waiting to be served except me for a good 5 minutes or so. All of a sudden 3 Barmaids arrived from behind the Bar and, presumably their Boyfriends came from behind whom immediately wanted to be served; really did seem that I was invisible? Eventually someone felt like serving, just wanted the pint of Guinness, also enquired about buying food because there was a menu on Bar, was advertised outside, serving food all day? “Oh” she said, “don’t start serving food until after 7” At that time was just after 5, felt a bit peckish, finished my pint and went up to the Subway for a tasty snack. Don’t know whether or not it was my appearance (always try and look clean and smart) or, because I looked elderly/alone? ADVICE, steer clear!

Lovely little pub just outside East Grinsteads BlueBell Railway station. Me & my girlfriend popped in for lunch and a few drinks as we waited for the train to return. We played pool and enjoyed catching up. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Food was big portions and we loved the hummus. My fish finger sandwich made me feel a bit unwell and the portions for the deserts were small ( we sent one back) but all in all it’s a cracking pub! Very spacious and clean, lovely clean loos and the locals were accommodating. We would return

Great pub. Excellent variety of food and reasonably priced. Indoor layout is spacious even on busy nights. Staff are so lovely and friendly. The best atmosphere as it can be relaxed or a party environment depending on the day. Would definitely come again.

I had heard good things about this pub so when I arrived I had high expectations. first of all both my starter and main were not available { not the end of the world] so I chose something else. however when the food came after a good 35 minutes of waiting, I was very surprised at the low quality of food. the shrimp was undercooked and literally dripping with water. the pie I ordered was drowned in watery gravy and the mash was the driest I've ever had i'm convinced it was instant mash because of the chemical taste. I did get a full refund on both of these dishes. the real trouble came when we had left the pub. all 3 of us were feeling sick minutes after eating. when I got home I proceeded to spend an hour over the toilet throwing up. its been 2 hours and I'm still feeling very sick. honestly haven't had food this bad in a very long time. forgot to mention it was £62

Visited with husband (vegetarian) and another couple. Only serve burgers but no vetetarian option. When asked about this was told, there's grass outside and a Macdonalds down the road if you want vegetarian. Not the kind of answer we expected, especially if you want to keep customers. Also said no chance of there ever being a vegetarian option on the menu.

A family group of 8 went on the Santa Special on the Bluebell Railway. We had a great trip and afterwards looked for somewhere to have lunch and chill. We came upon the Railway Tavern and were made welcome by Hannah who was happy to prepare a space for our group. The service was excellent as were the drinks and food. Hannah and her colleagues ensured all our needs were met. The icing on the cake was that the condiment container had my grandfather's name on it. I told Hannah about this and she was able to find one for me to take home. All in all a wonderful gesture to end an enjoyable afternoon. If I am in East Grinstead again I will be sure to pay a visit to the Railway Tarvern.

Went for a day out on The Bluebell Railway, went for a walk into East Grinstead and fancied the look of this place. Lovely huge outdoor area in the front, very clean with covered booth which always great as thee were showers! The menu looked a little short but tasty….we were not disappointed! We had burger and chips, scampi and chips and a side order of Whitebait, the chips are the lightest tastiest chips I have ever tasted and the fish and burger were equally tasty! The staff are so nice and friendly, especially a young lady who brought us out some crayons for our little girl, she actually managed to get a few words and a smile out of our daughter who never speaks to strangers ever! The pub is lovely and clean and and so is the outdoor area. We will be back!

Highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a welcoming and relaxing visit. Myself and my wife came with the intentions of getting some food, unfortunately it wasn’t advertised that there kitchen was closed on Mondays. The staff member who greeted us was incredibly polite and accommodating. Explaining other places to eat in the local area. I would love to say a huge thank you to the young lady with brown hair (didn’t catch her name), will definitely be returning.

Had a very unpleasant time at the Railway. As soon as we sat down the waitress (who I believe was called Lauren) was very rude and blunt towards us, I even heard her swearing and making other foul remarks in regards to our table. Unacceptable hospitality! Won’t be returning.

Food excellent and the staff exceptionally helpful. Food and drink service via the App very quick and easy to navigate. Great local pub, well done to the landlords and staff who made our visit very welcoming.

Popped into the railway tavern for a drink and bite to eat before heading home. The service was fast and very polite. I had a burger, which was delicious.

The railway is a very friendly pub! Went during the day with family for food, very happy with the selection and came out looking great, I had a pizza it was delicious! Its also a fun place for evening drinks with friends particularly impressed with the selection of gins (my go to drink) staff are friendly and helpful. All round a great example of a typical British pub

I found the staff and food very good, the pub was very well run. The main thing for us is how clean and friendly a place is when we take the family out. I would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Been here a fair few times and since the new owners have taken over, they have transformed the place! food is amazing (quite rare for a pub) and the staff are all soo friendly. they go above and beyond for everyone and finally a nice place to eat and drink without a looming cloud of disappointment! Keep up the good work

I’ve been to the Railway a few times this month and have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff have been quick to adapt to the new covid rules and drinks were served on time. Large pub so social distancing not a problem and all the rules were stuck to. The staff are so friendly and the landlord and lady are so committed to ensuring customers are looked after and have a great time socialising. Nothing negative to report, check it out.

Least friendly pub I have visited in a long time. Staff seemed unhappy and were keen to make customers feel their misery!

This place doesn't know what social distancing how can you have a group of 13 gathering round one table

Came here with a few mates to have a drink. I had forgotten my identification and was asked to leave by a security guard which I accept. My friend with me provided identification but decided to leave the pub with me. My friend had half a glass left of her drink left so we decided to just sit down on the benches outside so she could finish. This is when 2 security guards came over and told us to leave the benches. I then left the pub grounds as I was the one who couldn’t provide identification. The security guards then grabbed hold of my friends top around her neck and dragged her out of her seat and took her drink. They said she was to leave the grounds despite her providing identification earlier on before seating herself outside to finish her drink she had payed for and had a right to drink. I recorded this all and I hope to bring this message to everyone’s attention as this is disgusting behaviour. Honestly wouldn’t recommend this pub. Women who read this and decide to go. Please be safe around these man.

I came here with my citizenship card, as I do not own a Driving license (for medical reasons) or a passport. Every club and pub I’ve ever been it has accepted this. I even tried to show him the official government web page. The bouncer was extremely rude when I tried to explain the type of ID It was and refused to let me use it. He was very condescending when I explained of my medical needs. He also told me that I should have a passport “because everyone has one” - we had to explain to him that passports cost money. I asked to see another member of staff which he refused. What kind of customer service is this? I am offended by his ignorance of medical disabilities and why someone may not own that type of ID.

Came here for a friends birthday last week. The visit started nicely, we were all enjoying ourselves in the outside area. Then a friend left the pub to get some food. Somewhere between leaving and coming back she had lost her ID. By the time she came back, 2 security guards had arrived and they would not let her back in (despite having seen all of us and knowing we had been there since the early afternoon) All of the staff knew we had been there too. A friend and I then began asking security why she couldn’t come back in when they knew we had all been there, they could check the cameras and she had a scan of her passport. But they would still not let her in. We then decided to speak to the landlord who was just an absolute fool (more on this below). Getting visibly distressed and upset, I no longer wanted to speak to the security or the landlord. The security then proceeded to say “I don’t like your attitude” to which I replied, “would you say that to her?” (pointing to my friend that is white, I am a young, black female and we were both acting the same). He then proceeded to raise his voice, telling me I could not say those things because he had experienced racism too. He was an Arab man, called MEJTI. I proceeded to say that this is a valid question, and that if he had experienced racism then surely he would know that telling a black woman that they have a bad attitude is very racially triggering. He then began to continue getting distressed and repeating that I had a bad attitude/he didn’t like my attitude and then proceeded to kick me out of the pub. He said “I don’t like your attitude, you need to get out, get out now”.My friend and I looked at the landlord and said please help? How can you let this happen and the landlord turned a complete blind eye. He said “I didn’t see anything, I haven’t heard anything” and just ignored the situation. Shocking that people like that still exist. I was literally escorted out of the pub it was really embarrassing and I was shocked.The funny thing is, my friend who is white, was shouting at the security and she did not get kicked out? How is this possible. Honestly I will never ever step foot in here again, what a backwards establishment.

Very clean and welcoming Staff were great ! friendly and polite Food was good We had the cheese and bacon burger and were very impressed! Presentation and quality was good and tasted awesome Great atmosphere throughout the bar which is nice to see !!

Went for a drink but wouldn't recommend if you actually want to stay safe, avoid getting Covid-19 and protect others from getting it also.The owners have done little in the way of social distancing. There's only one narrow way in/out (so no one-way system), there's no hand sanitiser upon entry (looked like there used to be) and the owners have cordoned off any tables which means all the tables are right next to each like it was pre-Covid.Furthermore, the customers didn't seem to be trying to social distance much either.

I was asked by my company to check out the railway tavern in east grinstead with a view to hiring it out for company meetings and functions, and I was there no longer than half an hour when I hear a conversation between a man (who I found out was apparently employed there to prevent trouble!) and two young girls, it seemed the girl wanted to have a cigarette, to me it looked like the girl was complying when the so call ‘man’ grabbed her and started pulling her all around the place, the shock on that girls face will stay with me for ever, compleat shock, I was amazed no one helped her, the employee was at no time under any threat (two young girls!) and had no right or need to manhandle her so roughly, I wish I was 30 years younger!, I tried to find the girl to say call the police, but the poor thing probably ran off in fear, that man should not be working in a job like that with his temper!, I will never go there again, nor will my company be going and certainly no young females from my family! Absolute disgrace!

Despite getting a parking ticket and giving it to the bar staff for a refund I got a £60 parking fine , when I told the pub staff they were not interested in helping even when I said I will never use pub again there attitude was not to care for their customers.

Went for lunch, paid for 1 hours parking in pubs own car park (cost is refunded for customers so free) a reasonable time for lunch I thought, but overstayed by several minutes due to the pubs very slow service.

Had a roast dinner here today. The pork was tender and tasty, and the roast veg caramelised and just as tasty.However I was suspicious that the meal had been cooked earlier, plated up, and just re-heated in the oven, because there was no fresh veg, the roast veg was slightly shrivelled, and the gravy very thick. I wasn't offered any specific sauces either i.e. apple sauce.It also took over half an to arrive even though it was 3pm so well past peak lunch time, and most other customers were just drinking.

Freshly cooked food which arrived piping hot. Very pleasant bar staff. Ample seating. No complaints at all. My grandson said it was the best fish and chips he had eaten!!

Received a £100 parking ticket, despite having purchased a ticket when parking at Railway Tavern East Grinstead. Signage says pub customers, which I was, can get a full refund. So I took my ticket inside, spent over £50 on food, and got my car park ticket cost back. The pub staff said the charge is simply to deter non pub customers from using the car park. I left the pub 25 mins after my ticket expired but here's the thing, the bar staff told me I did not need to extend my ticket again as I'd simply be going outside to extend it, then bringing it straight back in for a refund. So I now have a £100 parking fine, for not paying an extra £1.50, which I could have got refunded, and low and behold, the parking company operates a revenue share with the pub owners. Draw your own conclusions! The pub and food were OK but this is simply a parking scam to secure more money. Pub staff blatantly telling customers there's no need to further extend a refunded ticket, knowing they will then get some of the parking fine, is absolutely disgraceful.

Large pub about 500m from the station. I think the ales are changed often, unfortunately there were no dark ales on this visit so did not stay long. Also, it was a hot day so we opted to sit outside but were plagued by wasps. Not The Railway's fault so we will try again.

My son and I travelled on the blue bell railway and had arranged to meet My Mother and Father for Lunch at The Railway Tavern. My Father is 83 but still driving but has a disabled badge because he cant walk very far. He parked in the Pub car park where you have to buy a ticket 1.50 per hour but is redeemable in the Pub. It took ten minutes for him to understand this but handed me the parking ticket so when I bought lunch I could redeem the £1.50 which I did. A week later he was sent a parking fine of £100 because they could not find his Reg no in their system. I approached the pub to see if they retained these tickets. They never phoned me back and did not answer any of my voice messages. Although the food at this pub was good I have been left with a nasty taste in my mouth. I urge anyone parking in this car park to photograph their Ticket. However I will not be using this Pub ever again because I believe we should not treat anyone like this especially our Senior citizens.

Want to experience what an English pub is really like? This is it! Great atmosphere like an old tavern but newly done and very clean! Amazing patio for when the weather is nice. It seems they do not always serve food, however. Be mindful of the food serving hours if you are looking for that. Had a great sandwich and the bathrooms were super clean! Great spot in town and lovely servers! Highly recommend!

We visited the Railway Tavern after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and checking out the website. The menu does not have a great variety but it does cater for most tastes and the food is well cooked. The prices are not prohibitive either. It is not completely wheelchair accessible (a strong piece of wood covering up a step is not my definition of wheelchair accessible) and there is no disabled toilet. Also, it is not well signposted how to get in if you have a wheelchair. (You go down the slope available round past the main enterance and the wheelchair enterance is on the left hand side as you look at the building at the from the front.) So, if you want somewhere reasonably priced and you can do a little walking then it is perfect, but not if you are completely disabled and need a disabled toliet.

Large old pub with seating outside. Steps up to the patio garden then steps down into the pub. Very large bar area with good service. We were only in for drinks but it seemed popular for food and the atmosphere was good.

Always wary of prices near London but our party of four were very pleasantly surprised of the great value this pub offers. First class Speckled Hen and my wife was impressed by the cider. We ordered whitebait, a baguette Camembert and cheesy chips with bacon. We were all well pleased with everything. We even had a couple of visits from the local waifs which the staff dealt with very well. Great bar staff. Can’t fault the place. Even the loos were were spotless.

I was visiting a friend in East Grinstead and had the misfortune of choosing this establishment for a drink and catch up with a old friend. I saw the car park was pay and display and had to pay £1.50 which I thought was extortionate to park sadly to my cost I have found out I misread the sign it was 1.50 a hour and now becuase I went 50 minuites over I have a £100 parking ticket. This establishment us just to scam people it has spoilt a pleasant memory now. I would avoid this establishment at all costs they do not deserve trade.

Sadly there are not many pubs in east grinstead town centre a decent outdoor area, we ended up here as there was an outside table free. We ordered lunch and drinks, all was ok but nothing special

Decor is dingy, but to be fair, it's an old pub. Staff were friendly. Spontaneous lunch friends, food was good and plentiful, I would definitely go again. Wheelchair access is good

Impromptu lunch Friday 22nd Feb with my 16 year old. We ordered Gammon Ham off the bone, eggs and chips and Burger in Brioche bun etc, what we got was very thin slices of packaged ham and a burger with a bap. If you’re going to charge gourmet prices, server gourmet food. If service had bothered to check, we would have complained!! In fact wouldn’t have ordered if facts were on menu. McDonald’s next time, at least you get what you pay for!!!!!

Invited to a funeral wake, parked in pub car park, paid and displayed as shown, was told to take ticket to bar for refund if you use the pub, which I did. 4 weeks later got a parking fine of £100. Phoned the pub to try and resolve and seek assistance, they said bad luck, managed by a private company, nothing to do with them and advised me not to pay the fine! What a way to celebrate the passing of a great friend!

I popped in with my hubby about 10pm on fri 28th. We were going to stay longet but prices seemed very expensive. I had a double gin, hubby had double whisky and coke, we were charged 14.10?!!?!

Came in on a Thursday night for a quick beer - service is great, quick and friendly, decor is really interesting as well - choose from booths, tables or plenty of standing area, pool table as well.

Plentiful, reasonably priced food, clean surroundings, toilets clean and well maintained. Dog friendly throughout premises. Decent choice of music and staff pleasant. Nice enough outside area for when the weather is better. Short and easy walk from the station.

Food was terrible. Lasagna much too greasy and garlic bread was obviously supermarket bought. Too much dressing on salad. Awful.

Stopped here a couple of times and the food is great. The staff friendly and they provide excellent service. The food was well cooked and large portions for the amount you pay which is exceptional value.Will be back when next in the area. Has a great garden so will be brilliant on a sunny day.

Lovely decor and furnishings. Well laid out and not cramped. The all day breakfast was massive, and an absolute bargain at £6.99. Lovely staff too. Ten out of ten! I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area.

Local pub to the Bluebell Railway which we travelled on during half term. Thought it would be a lovely place to have lunch mid journey. It was clean but soulless and the food can only be described as average. Definitely nothing impressed and wouldn’t bother visiting again when there are others in the area. Definitely the most disappointing meal I’ve had for some time.

Don't often go out for meals but decided the wife deserved a treat, went to the Railway tavern because the beer is good.

It was the first time I was in a tavern really. It was clean and not smokey, that's a plus for me. I didn't drink alcohol so I can't comment on it. The food was very good, I was surprised. I has a very nice atmosphere. The people were friendly. I would go again.

We visited The Railway for the first time in ages as we had heard that the food there was really good value. Indeed it was. My husband and I both ordered the Sunday roast and it came with crispy roast potatoes and fresh veg. The service was excellent and served with a smile. We're definitely going to make the place a regular haunt from now on.

We came here on as a party of 3 for lunch and we enjoyed ourselves. The place is large so plenty of tables and seats, we found a table and decided what to order. The Menu is vast and had a good selection of meals, we ordered at the bar and for 1 x Scampi & Chips, 2 Ciabattas with chips & Salad, 1 x Nachos plus 2 alcoholic drinks and 1 x Tea came to just over £30 which we all thought was great value.

We went to meet friends who were visiting family in East Grinstead and decided to go out to lunch. On entering the pub I was a little dubious and this grew even more as the bar staff were a little slow. Then the food arrived and it was surprisingly good. The presentation was good and the taste even better. My husband and I had grilled calamari and chicken wings which were done to perfection. Our friends also enjoyed their meal. The desserts were tasty. The waitress who served us was friendly and helpful.

Out for the day on the Bluebell Railway and stopped at East Grinstead for lunch. Have to be honest we were heading to the Open arms but it was closed. I had a half of lovely ale and probably the best nachos I've ever eaten. My husband's ham eggs and chips were perfectly acceptable and the loos weren't spotless- always a big plus.

The food in this pub is shocking. I had ham, egg & chips. The ham was like leather and it looked old. The egg was cremated and the chips were cold. None of my party consumed all their dinner. Most of it would have gone in the bin. Unclean with sticky tables and no customer service skills!Not very impressive for my Canadian friends. No way I will be going back, not even for a drink

A very busy pub with a good atmosphere, just need to turn off the flashing light where the plants are at the front alcove, its rather annoying when your trying to have a drink in the front area

We arrived at East Grinstead on the heritage railway in search of somewhere to stop for lunch. Found this pub a short walk away from the station. Staff were very friendly and gave my son colouring book and a toy to play with while waited for our food. Food was very reasonably priced, came out quickly and was tasty. We were able to catch the next train back to Sheffield Park having enjoyed a nice lunch

Very enjoyable sitting outside with comfortable benches or chairs with parasols or not. Inside was very good too. The facilities were clean and spacious.The staff were friendly and polite but I felt overworked. It was fairly busy but not packed and one meal arrived and was nearly finished before I finally went to ask where my meal was. It arrived shortly after with a duplicate meal for my partner. We were quite comfortable chatting so it wasn't a great problem. The burger was good , but my fish was dry and a little over cooked . Not gourmet food but acceptable . I was disappointed as the menu stated mushy peas and I was served garden peas without comment , they were cold and I was looking forward to mushy peas. Picky ? Maybe. Overall I would probably return and hope for slightly better.

Always seen how lovely the Roast dinners looked so it was time to try and we were not disappointed. A Choice of 3 meats available. I dont eat meat so quite happy just to have the veg, they charged mine as a childrens meal so great value, the vegetables were cooked well, cauli cheese, fine beans, roasted peppers, parsnips in honey, swede with carrots, brocolli and carrots plus the normal roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding. Great value. We will certainly be back

Nice place to go with friends for drinks, they have a pool table and darts. Sit around the fireplace with a pint if you go solo.

Stop by for a midweek lunch after a long walk, staff polite and welcoming.Good real ales lunch was ok to good but not gourmet ( they don't say they are gourmet) but did the job we had a French burger came with blue cheese and mushrooms beef patty was very big and chunky French fries were cold by the time they come to us and reformed onion rings as well as a small salad . Also a fish finger burger with onion rings, French fries and salad, fish fingers were standard shop brought . Meal a little overpriced for the quality, real onion rings, hand cut chips and a slaw would of made it much more up market and more suitable for price point.My opinion only, place was busy and I would return

Came to tommys on a Saturday night. Was pleasantly surprised to see they had a band on. Which was really good: Went to a few pubs before hand and this was by far the busiest pub and had the best atmosphere. Great staff too! Would definitely come again.

Located in London road of East Grinstead very close to the high street, and all the shops.The reason I went there was because I was very impressed with the beautiful gardens, and the layout outside and near the entrance. It looks like a grand country pub, but in the city center.The deco inside is of a typical English pup, which makes the place very relaxing.They a large menue with very good food, and friendly staff to go with it. I only had a quick drink there, but next time I will stop for lunch for sure.

This still has the good aspects of an old fashion pub with its wooden floor and furniture. The mirror backed bar has a vast array of optics and bottles. When I visited there was the obligatory group of regulars at one end of the bar and together with the friendly staff this made a comfortable atmosphere.Although I didn't eat, the menu and food looked good. I liked the fact there was a choice of real ales. I'd be happy to pop in again next time I'm in town.

We knew a band we liked called The Naked Bass was playing last night which coincided with my husbands birthday. We went in and asked if it was possible to therefore hold his birthday bash in there. Nothing was too much trouble, They blocked off an area at the back of the pub which was perfect and put on a great buffet - so much food. Also we were given another part of the bar that we could use to get our own drinks rather than having to use the main bar, perfect. We will certainly use them again and recommend to others

Good choice of menu at reasonable prices, food is nicely presented and in our experience it was good quality food - staff were welcoming anf friendly

Went in for a bite to eat today. Normally have a Tommy burger but looking they have a new menu. Tried the chicken and chorizo very nice indeed. Grabbed a naughty pudding as well. All I can say is taking the kids with me next week.

I went for lunch today with my mother. They had a new menu and everything looked amazing. Was very impressed and will go back again.

My husband and I went to Tommy flynns last Saturday for a meal and I have to say I can't fault it , the staff were friendly and professional and really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed , the food was delicious , I will be going back regularly . I have to say Tommy flynns is in my opinion the best place in town for food/drink and a good friendly atmosphere .

Love the place, great manager and staff,great service, lovely food , good bands.Very clean and inviting. Can't fault it.

Band nights have a great atmosphere on the weekends and during the week you can enjoy relaxing music and yummy filling!! food. The inside has alot of space to dance around :-). Very nice pub

Came to this pub with friends, upon last orders we were immediately told after putting our drinks down we were potentially in risk of being 'scragged out' by the bouncers. We were then consequently threatened and intimidated constantly by both bar staff and bouncers alike until we left the premises. I have never come across such a egregiously unfriendly establishment in all my life, I will not be visiting again and i recommend that anyone visit either Bridge Bar, the Ship or Bar Kuba to avoid such infelicitous and disgusting behaviour. Frankly anywhere that can speak the English language properly and pay due diligence to its customers.

How difficult is it to get a burger right? Well the Tommy Flynn seems to struggle finding the answer to the simplest food dishes. I had the Tommy Flynn which is priced at just under £8. First the meat patty: felt more like some genetically modified substance with a very strange taste. Not sure where it was exactly but definitely not from a cow. Then the bread: chewy and probably from the day before. I probably have to give them credit for going for the crusty roll instead of the usual soft bun you get at fast food outlets, but frankly, for this to work the bread needs to be fresh from the day. Finally, the garnish: none . You would expect for the price you pay to have tomatoes maybe, gherkin,.. but no, none of that. Just plain burger with a massive dollop of ketchup, probably put there to mask the odd taste of the meat. There was some traces of salad, but frankly that might have as well come from a compost bin that you wouldn't be surprised given the way the 3 lonely leaves looked. And as for the onion ring, they ended up in the bin after I struggled to bite through the onion.As for the chips, they had probably been fried and re-fried a number of times and looked totally denuded of any potato matter.After telling the waitress about the disastrous dish, all we got back was a timid: "Oh! I'll tell the chef". Sorry, this is not on and I won't be repeating the experience any sooner.

This is a lovely pub to eat and drink in. The food is out of this world. The staff r very friendly. The night life is fantastic always have very good bands on and it's nice and spacious.

Nice decor inside. The beer garden is nice too. But the feel of the place in general just isn't good. The music was just awful. Repetitive commercial dance music. The barmaid serving us wasn't very friendly or engaging either. Had one drink and left to go to another pub. Probably won't return.

What a lovely pub ! Prices are well matched and food is homely , Staff are very friendly and nothing is to much bother for them. Was a very happy customer when leaving

Beer range is quite good, 3 cask and the usual lagers. Nice patio if a bit noisy....i have had better food thhough and at a cheaper price.

Sun was out Friday afternoon, stopped at Tommy's and sat outside with cold ciders and ordered their Tommy Flynn's Burger which comes with bacon and the usual chips and salad. My partner opted for the extra cheese. It was great. Salad it came with was fresh, the burger was thick and juicy and had a good flavour and seasoned properly. The bacon on the burger was cooked right, crispy but not overly done. I couldnt find fault with it except my partner likes butter on his burger buns (which I dont!!), and he moaned it was soggy. All in all very good value for money and I would certainly order it again.

We ate here on the spur of the moment because our favourite restaurant in East Grinstead was closed for the Easter holidays. We chose a table by the bar - our mistake. Even on a Monday, the bar was noisy and it was difficult to hear each other just across the table. I'd chosen a sirloin steak, cooked to medium, and I'm glad to say that the chef certainly got that part right. It's a pity that he left a thick, tough, inedible rind on it. There was a strong taste of cooking oil on the mushrooms, and I did try a second one to make sure it wasn't just the first one. The rest of the meal was okay, and the price was really cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. The place was clean, and that always earns stars with us, but we won't be returning anytime soon.

Lovely brunch and well prepared coffee . Very nice setup . Clean and tidy . Friendly staff .very nice that they give the kids an easter egg . A nice touch .

After visiting a little while ago, i came back with a group of friends to discuss some buisness over a drink, we quickly came to the conclusion that we were going to eat as the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, so glad we did as the menu had changed a little since last time and was keen to try one of the new additions, in my case a specialist burger from the rugby menu ( the azzuri burger ) which was awsome! The meals came out quickly even though it was quite busy and not a scrap was left by anyone! To sumerise i shall definitely return and am looking to have a corporate event here!

Very rude and argumentative waiter , shame as the place and food was very nice but I would go back. I went here with my dad and we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. All the food came at once. When we questioned this the waiter told me this was our fault as we didn't say they were starters even though they were on the starter menu. I pointed this out and was told pubs are different to restaurant I should have specified. Again I pointed out I have never had this problem before, if it's on the starter menu it comes out as a stater. Then I was told this pub is different. If that's the case why weren't we told when ordering. It put a dampener on the rest of the afternoon and there was an awkward atmosphere for the rest of the meal. The waiter continued to be sarcastic when clearing our plates.

We came in for lunch with our 2 year old and the staff were lovely the food was delicious and very reasonably priced, food came quickly which was a big plus with a 2 year old! Definitely be back soon.

Wow, glad we came across the place today. The carvery is amazing! Even our 4 year old who proclaims to not like roast dinner ate his up, followed by lovely dish of strawberry ice cream. Service was fantastic and the bar man was very complimentary of his boss who was away in Belfast. Definitely recommend and we will be going back for sure.

Glad to find this friendly Pub open for hot food just after New Year. Food & drinks good, they even supplied tea. Fire, Sports TV & Snooker also warmed us up on a cold day when many others had finshed serving lunch. Very friendly & most obliging.Thanks very much.

Recently visiting friends and paid a visit to Tommy Flynn's. Brilliant! I used to manage pubs and would have been proud to call this one mine. Great service coupled with great food. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to East Grinstead. Well done!

Came to visit on a Sunday for the roast, was greeted by the bar staff who were very helpful and friendly, enjoyed the Sunday dinner was one of the best I've eaten, the place was very clean and tidy and would recommend every time 5*
