Great food and great service my boyfriend is a vegetarian so it is sometimes very difficult to order a good takeaway but charcoal grill always deliver with a wide range of tasty vegetarian options and great quality food for the price

Love this place, best food for miles. So clean and friendly, also great that they do really good veggie stuff, felafel/halloumi wrap so tasty. All freshly cooked.

Got my food delivered really quickly and was still warm after Crawley down delivery. Food was top quality and above all kebab shops in Sussex area. Would definitely order again and recommend to others.

Shocking, food awful, service awful. Ordered on deliveroo. I generally don’t leave reviews however the order was wrong. When we called we were asked to hold for over 10mins. When they finally answered they said it was busy and they were short staffed hence the wrong food sent out. Wouldn’t use them again as plenty of other options available in East grinstead

Absolutely disgraceful kebab. Ordered a chicken shish, lamb doner and salad and chips. They were more concerned about making me pay for an extra salad than dishing up the food correctly. Had to go back for the chips as they didn’t put them in and then got home and saw the state of the chicken shish, 3 tiny pieces of chicken thrown into a soggy pitta. Do not recommend at all.

I was charged £50 but my order never arrived. EG grill said it's not their problem. No food, no refund.

Ordered and extra large Donna to feed two people turned up the size off a small kabab! Cold meat and dry wanted running under the tap!cheap quality! Wouldn’t waste your money it’s a real shame as this was the go to in the town for kabab in eg! Better food else where

used to be a decent kebab, just ordered online and im very disappointed as its not like they have good prices . meat is low quality , my kebab was missing tomatoes that i asked for , and the sauces came already mixed in and not much of them! they gave me too much chilli when i don’t like my food very spicy, and barely any garlic ! for the price, sauces should come separately

Something has clearly gone wrong here. This was a super kebab shop with very good tasty food. Now a disaster I’m sorry to say. So sad a great place has fall as badly as this. What on earth had happened to the food quality !! Bits of lamb doubled up to look like what is normally served & succlent. I won’t go on just a total disappointment

We had a delivery today at 5pm absolutely appalling, cold burger soggy asked for chips got 8 in the box with the quarter pounder with cheese non existed. My extra large chicken kebab was also cold an no salad asked for extra chilli sauce could not see it, charged a total £32 80, which included a further tip of £4.80 which I never agreed to yet still taken out of my account, absolutely disgusting disgraceful business. I will certainly not use ever again Uba you are disgraceful

Very tasty, excellent meat. I ordered lamb meat with salad. I hesitated to come in for a long time after reading the reviews, but it turned out that everything was fine. I will definitely come back for another order. I didn’t have time to take a photo, everything was eaten

Ordered the mixed kebab the meat was beautiful, the salad too. The home made baklava exceptional. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

EG CG has usually been good, however lately awfully . Ordered a lamb donner last week with chilli sauce got home stone cold..... Not a drop of sauce !! Went back this week and expressed my disappointment with last week's order. Given a small discount. Ordered this week small chicken shish with garlic sauce for the wife and my usual lamb donner with chilli sauce . Got home served up meal ! Wife's shish covered in chilli sauce . Lamb donner stone cold. Wife's meal in the bin as she hates chilli, I chewed through a thorough disgusting donner ! We always go and order in shop and wait so the order can be fresh and hot ......... Time to find a different weekly take away !!!!!

Just moved to EG. First and last time I would order from here, food was not good at all, sloppy meat sloppy packaging. Fingers crossed I don't get the s#&ts

Messed up my order. Missed items. When I raised with the store the man was incredibly rude and said they never make any mistakes and I was mistaken. I was advised by a friend not to use these people and I can see why I was given this advice. A shame because when they get the order correct the food is good. But the service is awful and I can’t order and be worrying about missing items. Also poor English leads to what may be unintended rudeness. For example I gave my surname when he asked for my name. He said your name is ‘used forename’ and accused me of lying about my name and had the audacity to tell me the name I had given wasn’t my name. No apology for mess up, accused me of not requesting the missing items. I order the same things every time I used to use them. I shall use them no more. Rude person driving down the business.

I’m very outraged by the food, the pita bread is dry in the Wrap, the kebab is very small for Large, the Wrap is very small, I don’t recommend this place The onions in the salad weren’t cut. They threw them in big chunks, it’s just awful 🤬😡

Ones the kebabs were good at this place. I made the mistake of going there tonight hoping that they had changed their ways. I had a small donner with garlic and salad. After a few mouthfuls I simple couldn’t put up with it anymore and had to bin it. The meat is inedible. It’s more filler than meat. Just plainly disgusting. I didn’t even want to give it to the dog. They use too lay their own meat in this place. It use to be fresh tasty and delicious.

Order £50 worth of food, arrives cold as delivery driver stops in petrol station to fill his car up for 10mins en route. Kebabs have no salad, just chicken and bread, chips are like cardboard. Second time the food has been this poor. Won’t be ordering again.

I have been a customer for about 1 year and until the penultimate time I have not had any problems. About 2 months ago I ordered burger and chips for dinner and the delivery was after 1h30m obviously all inedible. I didn't eat dinner and threw it all away. Today I ordered 2 kebabs, they arrived lukewarm and the taste of the cold lamb is awful. threw it all away. I won't be ordering from them again. I advise against it

It is already the second time that I feel bad. About 2 months ago I ordered a burger and fries and they arrived after 1h30m all cold, I didn't eat dinner because I threw everything away. Today I ordered 2 kebabs and they arrived luke warm, inedible. Lamb when cold is awful. I think I will not order again.

I am a regular customer at the Charcoal Grill. Through uber delivery, direct delivery from them and collect from them.. For over 6 years I have ony used them as me go to place for kebabs. Not anymore I wont be. The uber delivery driver failed to deliver my food even though she stated on Uber that she did. I phoned Charcoal Grill and was told by a very rude guy that it wasnt his problem. So that is how you treat a regular customer who has spent hundreds of pounds over the years they have used you. Well I won't be anymore and I will make sure my friends and family in East Grinstead do not use you. Disgusting customer service

Amazing kebab friendly staff very good prices.

I ordered a lamb shish kebab with them. I do not expect a very high customer service quality from a kebab shop and certainly not from this one in particular rude and unprofessional. No greetings or anything. Anyways coming back to food the kebab was undercooked and it wasn't even busy hours. Worst kebab in EG

Visiting East Grinstead and found this place . Doner & Chicken kebab was lovely, generous amount . Had the Rice too which was very nice . Very friendly service , will definitely go back here

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The order wasn’t complete and the owner decided to argue and shout his point of view across which was so unnecessary & unprofessional! I will not be ordering from here again which is a shame as I have used them a lot in the past. Highly disappointed

Very tasty lamb shish kebab.. lots of meat 🍖 and copious amounts of 🥗 🍅 🌶 . Visited at lunchtime which was very quiet and servicexwas quick and efficient.

They don't listen, ordered a couple of kebabs from here and asked for sauce, took them home and both were completely dry.

We have had Kebabs from here in the past and the have not been too bad However the 2 we had recently were salty dry and so tough we could not eat then

I have been going to EG Charcoal Grill for years now, every few months, and I have never had any problems. The owners are lovely and the people there are very hard working, they work most of the day till late at night. Food is always good and I love their cheeseburgers!

This isn't the fabulous EG Charcoal Grill anymore. It's under new management, I think the changeover was during the start of the pandemic, and the quality has dropped off a cliff. They really should be forced to change their name as they are hoodwinking people. The fabulous previous staff are at Golden Grill in Forest Row I have recently found out... In recent months I've experienced regular mistakes with deliveries and a flippant attitude and regard to customer service. I should add to this that there is a gross misuse of Uber Eats in which whey are charging significantly more for food although they aren't the deliverers, this denies the deliverer a decent tip because people are overpaying for their food. Poor food, outrageous prices (£4.90 for a very average burger anyone?) unethical practices - I would suggest you avoid.

Since new ownership food quality has been awful! This used to be one of the best takeaways in town. Last time I ate here I was throwing up within the hour and the time before I had upset guts the rest of the day. Avoid this place it’s terrible

What has happened to this kebab shop ? I ordered a meal for my daughters birthday last night , spent almost £40 and I was very disappointed, all of the food was disgusting especially a portion of rice which was hard and uncooked . I rang to complain and to be honest the response I got was not great , customer service is not their forte. The chicken in the kebabs was dry z as no cold , the chips where stone cold the whole meal went into the bin . The place is under new management but I suggest they close before they give someone food poisoning. This place used to make the best kebabs ever but now it is absolutely terrible. Please do not waste your money and go elsewhere .

Was freshly cooked and had chargrill taste ---------------- no other taste whatsoever. No flavours of Greece , Cyprus or Turkey. Very disappointing.

This place has gone massively down-hill since the guys before left. Things missed off the order and even worse, meat has tasted like its going bad the last couple of times. Such a shame.

Well this was once a good place to go for a very tasty Doner kebab and other stuff but just had my second bad and even worse than before kebab. All salty fat and very little meat content. So just spent £10 on something completely inedible. Very disappointing.

According to the sign outside they are Offering one free meal a day per NHS staff showing ID. Ordered a kebab and chips and was asked for £7.50.... when I questioned it I was told that only the chips were free... who classes chips as a meal??? Not good enough. Take your sign down and change the wording.

Fabulous kebabs and so friendly! I came from the states and had this a few years a go, its was delicious then and I came back last week and it was just as good!!! Thank you for the dessert :)

What a disappointment! This place was my favourite take away for the past 20 years until lockdown the original staff seem to have gone 🤔 and the service now is awful the food is terrible and now me and my family won't be going back!

Best kebabs, been coming here for around 30 years, always tasty and fresh.

Been going to Charcoal for over twenty years, but for the last three months there have been new staff. I know lockdown must have affected them but the new staff cannot cook properly. I always order extra large chicken kebab, but the chicken has been overcooked and dry, in addition they are very mean with the chilli sauce. I write this after having visited four times over the past three weeks, so this is not a knee jerk complaint. Please respond to our queries. Will the usual chaps who cook be returning?

This place used to be the best kebab shop for miles around. No idea who the staff are now don’t recognise any of the cooks anymore. recent orders have been dry under portioned and just disgusting. Greasy chips cooked in clearly dirty oil. Totally inedible. What a shame.

The chicken kebabs are really nice; tasty and well cooked. The Hawaiian burgers are really good, too.
