The best restaurants in Newport Central Isle of Wight South East

We went in for food but they didn't serve food on the day we went in, that's fine we'll get some drinks then go out for food, we got a drink each and they both tasted a bit flat and dirty like the lines needed cleaning

Live on Island, been to new cafe many times fully enjoyed. Sadly visited today and found person serving at till very unhelpful and sarcastic when I told her my husband was deaf. Staff today also need to smile as looked very unhappy which is a shame for such a wonderful cafe

Not much good food. On smash avacado instead of pickled onions they gave normal red onion and the eggs were not cooked properly even after giving specific instructions that we want it well cooked. The chicken of twisted club was chewy had to throw the remaining as it was not eatable. Fries weren’t tasting fresh and water drinking glasses were stinking. Overall ambience was good. Staff was good but just food not worth.

We visited for lunch and decided to order on the app, but it was at odds with what was on the physical menu and no pasta dishes showing, which is what we specifically came for, so we ended up ordering at the till instead. Unfortunately, there was only ravioli available from the pasta section so I had that which was delicious. We didn’t try any cakes as there were so many peanut ones which was disappointing as I’m severely allergic. I wasn’t a huge fan of the strawberry milkshake I had but the service was quicker than when we came last time and I do like the setting of the café.

FINGER NAIL IN DRINK Absolutely disgusting place very poor hygiene standards and management. I probably experienced a diners worst nightmare finding a finger nail in my drink which disgustingly ended up in my mouth, imagine that another persons finger nail in your mouth how vile. when I approached the barmaid (who’s finger nail it properly was) about a refund which is not asking for much considering the circumstances she refused and she said the managers have to be present which they wasn’t as it was it a Sunday. I then asked for contact details of the manager she yet again refused saying she wasn’t allowed to do this. After hearing all these awful things and her not being a single help what so ever and showing no understanding how appalling the situation was I then tried to contact the emails I could find on the website, I emailed more then one email that I found about my visit just asking for a simple refund even though I could take the matter way further and neither gave me a reply. This shows the lack of care they have for there company and more importantly there customers. This leaves me with 2 questions why and how has a finger nail got in my drink of coke. Was the barmaid cutting her nails around a area of food and drink ? Probably so. Id absolutely avoid this place in case anything like these happens to you and you get the same treatment I did. Shocking hygiene standards never mind the hospitality.

Absolutely mind-blowing. If I could give 100 stars out of 20, I would without hesitation. This isn’t just food — this is a culinary miracle, a divine creation wrapped in flatbread. I’ve eaten kebabs all around the world, from Istanbul to Berlin, but nothing comes even remotely close to this masterpiece. The meat? Juicy, perfectly seasoned, melts in your mouth. The sauces? So good they deserve their own Michelin star. The freshness of the veggies? Like they were just picked from the Garden of Eden. This isn’t just the best kebab I’ve ever had — it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Period. Whoever made this deserves a Nobel Prize in Flavor. If you’re reading this and haven’t tried it yet, stop everything. Go. Now. Your taste buds will thank you forever

The restaurant rang me because free egg fried rice is only available if you pay cash (tax dodgers clearly) I’ve ordered salt and pepper king prawns (on the menu says it’s hot but no sign of chilli’s when delivered) and everything just tastes plain and boring. Will never order again, £70 worth of order and they argue I have to pay cash to get the egg fried rice for free. Never again!!!!

Tungjatjeta të 7th is a good time for me to Newnham Road to get back 8th of this month to Newnham and so I don't think it will work on the other side but I will need a few days to Newnham Road is a bit more 😀 than I thought 😀 but it's been a long way 😀 I can we have a look at it 😀 I don't think it's worth a

The food is alway delicious and service is amazing! Hygiene has always looked/seemed professionally kept on top of. I wouldn’t go to any other chip shop!

We visited today and brought a round of drinks. The pub was around 30% full of diners, very much for locals. We asked if we could just grab a seat, but we were told to go outside and sit as all tables were booked. This was not the hospitality we should have deserved. We sat outside in the rear yard, which needed tidying up. We didn't even finish our drinks and left while the pub was still 30% full. I won't be returning.

Asked for home delivery. Ordered a house special chow mein. Asked for added chilli. Didn't get the added chillies. The chow mein noodles were all broken apart indicating they were of poor quality and/or over cooked. Barely any vegetables within the meal. I also asked for prawn ball in batter also with sweet and sour sauce. That was over cooked, making the batter taste bitter. The guy delivering didn't know how much I had to pay. Which I ended up not getting any change because I didn't have the patience to wait. That worked well for them/ or at least the delivery guy. Shame 🙄 Bought once and I leave it at that, boo!👎🏻

Sorry, but only went here because other nearby cafes were closed. I just don't like the coffee.
