Saint Pizza in Isle of Wight

FINGER NAIL IN DRINK Absolutely disgusting place very poor hygiene standards and management. I probably experienced a diners worst nightmare finding a finger nail in my drink which disgustingly ended up in my mouth, imagine that another persons finger nail in your mouth how vile. when I approached the barmaid (who’s finger nail it properly was) about a refund which is not asking for much considering the circumstances she refused and she said the managers have to be present which they wasn’t as it was it a Sunday. I then asked for contact details of the manager she yet again refused saying she wasn’t allowed to do this. After hearing all these awful things and her not being a single help what so ever and showing no understanding how appalling the situation was I then tried to contact the emails I could find on the website, I emailed more then one email that I found about my visit just asking for a simple refund even though I could take the matter way further and neither gave me a reply. This shows the lack of care they have for there company and more importantly there customers. This leaves me with 2 questions why and how has a finger nail got in my drink of coke. Was the barmaid cutting her nails around a area of food and drink ? Probably so. Id absolutely avoid this place in case anything like these happens to you and you get the same treatment I did. Shocking hygiene standards never mind the hospitality.

Tagliatelle with mushrooms was watery, tasteless, no salter pepper on table. Cook just dropped it off on table without saying a word. As well could not get vat or itemised receipt. Just card payment slip so cannot reimburse on travel expenses.

Had a lovely couple of pizzas from here this week. We chose the GF base and you would not have known it was GF. Absolutely great !

Best pizza I’ve had on the island

based on a few experiences, the place is a mixed bag. the pizzas are generally good, as are the fries, but the garlic bread isn't very good. the bread feels kinda stale, and there's not much flavour to it. i also paid 3 pounds for a coke; it didn't specify if it was a can or a bottle, but i assumed it was a bottle because of the price, but it was actually a can. that's 3x higher than the average price for a can of coke :/ disappointing

The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing! The meatballs were absolutely delicious, definitely recommend. The garlic bread was not good at all. Bread was way too dry and did not taste garlicky.

Absolutely shocking customer service skills, refused a table and said could only get takeout, nobody could be bothered to take out order and were more interested in stuffing their own face whilst walking around the restaurant

Lovely pizza really enjoyed the food, food very tasty and staff helpful and polite.

Our dining experience was a real mixed bag. The team were all very friendly and polite; the pizzas were genuinely delicious; and the service was speedy considering they were short staffed. However, despite being 2 out of just 5 people in the restaurant, both our orders were wrong. To be fair, we didn't say anything because (a) we did enjoy our food, and (b) we could tell the team were under pressure and the last thing they needed was us throwing a spanner in the works. It might also be worth clarifying that when you order an egg on your pizza here it comes scrambled, not fried. There was no cutlery or napkins on the table, and no one around to ask for some. Perhaps I'm fussy, but I definitely expected either/or. A little background music would help to mask the conversations between the kitchen, front of house staff, the Uber Eats driver, and other customers coming to collect their take-aways and make it a nicer experience for people eating in. We wouldn't have a sit down meal here again, but can recommend for take-away.

A poor example of pizza making, we had a delivery of pizzas, all 4 came doughy on the bottom and caked in flour, hope to see some improvement.

Brilliant pizza! Very tasty and you can make it as healthy as you like. We sat in and you could see the pizza being made. Very generous portions as well as very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!

Popped in for takeaway vegan pizza on a weekday. Super friendly staff and loads of options for toppings. Only £11 for sourdough base + vegan cheese + 4 veggie toppings. The base was cooked perfectly and the tomato sauce was very flavoursome, not just some bland tomato base like you get elsewhere. Really recommend this pizzeria for authentically tasting high quality pizza!

Quite frankly, the person that left a review stating that they served the best pizza outside of Italy has either never been to Italy or got this restaurant confused with somewhere else! I had toppings from my order missing, what toppings were present were scant in proportion, I ordered an egg as an extra, that in itself had been cooked to death. The base was rock solid and crisp, if fact not a lot to condone eating here & so I'd suggest going elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

After nearly giving up searching the island for a gluten free pizza for my son. We found this gem of a restaurant, food and staff were great and very well priced. Highly recommend especially for a gluten free pizza 🍕

Lovely great tasting pasta and pizza . Super nice chips for £4 though, but big portion . Food was more expensive but there was less of it compared to the sides portion size. Apart from that lovely people really kind and Great food.

This place is so nice! Me and my friend came in for some dinner and came home with leftovers! The pizza was great and they had really nice topping options but i wish they had more sides, such as onion rings or something. I also would’ve liked if they had more drinks to choose from but can never go wrong with some coke;) Reallyy regret not getting a milkshake cause they looked so nice😫Staff were so wonderful aswell. Thankyou for such a nice visit!

Fabulous food! Fresh, tasty, plentiful and good value. Try the pasta dishes - delicious. And the garlic bread is out of this world.

Tasty sourdough pizzas cooked to order. Milkshake choice was a little lacking, but the pizzas themselves were delicious, as was the whitebait we had on the side.

One of the best, if not the best, pizzas I've ever had. Quick service, great staff, and fairly cheap food.

My word that was some tasty pizza! Don’t remember the last time I had pizza that tasty! A lot of choice to make your own, even choices for vegan. Not just pizza on the menu either. Highly recommended!!!

Overpriced and a joke. Veggie fries were atrocious and burger was clearly microwaved. £100 for 6 people and nothing was good.

I'm very conflicted writing this review, giving 2*s. It could've been so much better---as high as 4*, or even 5*. The manager with whom we spoke was excellent, though, and really cared about us. Ordered burger and dirty fries, but was very low quality. For the first time in my life, I sent it back. I'd have been disappointed if I paid £5 for it in a café, never mind paying £14 in a restaurant. The burger was so low quality, almost tasteless. This was countered by more American mustard than you've seen in your life. Do not order this burger! The manager, who was excellent, didn't complain and even offered a pizza on the house. This was very nice---would probably be 4*s, maybe even 5*s, on its own. Unfortunately, my wife's pasta was missing its topic. It was taken back to be topped, but never returned. She ended up eating 1/3rd of my pizza. This was plenty for us. The pizza was good and the chips were too; salad was ok. Chips and salad were so heavily salted. If you get either, ask for very light salting! Clearly the people doing the seasoning/saucing are not culinary trained. The manager was excellent, but she had way too much to do. Her staff were really lacking---both in terms of food quality and also in terms of service. Her qualities didn't make up for the shortcomings of the rest of the establishment, unfortunately.

The price, speed and taste of the food is perfect, highly recommended if you like pizza and you are in Newport. The food provided was perfect, this is a place where you make your own pizza, not one where you would want to get a select flavour. The sides were very good as well and the service was professional. P.s. Went when it wasn't busy at all.

One of the best wood fired pizza!!! It is located in a small plaza in the middle of downtown next to a cathedral. The place is lovely and all the ingredients are of high quality.

I'm a massive pizza fan, and Saint Pizza have easily served me one of the best (if not best) pizza I've ever tasted. The fries are wonderful and retain their heat well and the staff and overall experience have been second to none. Perhaps they could do with a larger premesis, but if they keep this up, I've no doubt they'll expand. Five stars from me. Well done chaps and we will be back again for sure

Good pizza with loads of choice. Interesting that they have a basic pizza and then it's add what you want, the slaw was nice as well. Had a 40 minute wait for the food, but that's popularity, wood fired oven

Ordered Pizza, Garlic Bread Mac and Cheese and Fries all delicious ❤️ when ordering it gave a time slot, they rang us straight away to say they were so busy it would be ready later, glad we waited it was totally worth it ❤️ Thank You

Nice pizza for normal orders - my girlfriend is celiac (gluten free, but medical, not by choice) and whilst they go to all of the effort to make a gluten free pizza, when it comes to gluten free pizzas for celiacs, they won't "brush the floor of the oven to remove the semolina" rendering the whole point of gluten free null and void. Appreciate they may have to cook more than one pizza at a time, but happy to order out of busiest period or pay extra for the oven to only cook the GF pizza for 2 minutes. The oven floor doesn't need to be properly cleaned, just that excess semolina from gluten pizza be brushed to back of the fire like normal and then put in. A real shame - doing that would allow people who are genuinely celiac to enjoy a rare treat - a wood fired pizza. Recommend putting an * next to the GF available saying not suitable for celiacs

Had amazing pasta delivered hot and fresh. Really tasty and unlike all the other take aways near by. However, everytime we go on uber eats it shows their pizzas as out of stock... we really want to try! Don't know if it's a glitch or they genuinely don't every have pizzas available.
