Sooo Good!! Fast delivery, piping hot and very generous portions. I would highly recommend if you haven’t tried the food before you certainly won’t be disappointed. (Chefs special Rice, and chefs special chow mein)

i got delivery from here to cowes. the food came hot and fairly fast which i was happy about, but the quality of the food is not the best. to a certain extent i can forgive fast food being lesser quality than handmade food, because thats a given, but i struggled to eat anything i recieved from this place. everything came in tupperware which was old, and the food tasted very stale. the sweet and sour chicken was very unpleasant, and just tasted overly sweet. the chicken was a strange colour. the fried rice was quite overpriced and , again, i struggled to eat any of it due to the weird plasticy/stale taste.

Our usual Chinese was closed so we thought we would try here instead, what a mistake, outside the delivery drivers were chatting whilst holding people’s food smoking all over it, inside the carpets and decor were filthy and the staff were even filthier wearing dirty clothes covered in food stains and looking sweaty, they moaned out loud every time the phone rung and the kitchen staff were seen coughing over the food - the most disgusting takeaway I have ever seen. no surprise we didn’t eat there!

Ordered a collection online, they called when it was ready to collect. Only took half an hour on a Saturday night! All the staff were friendly. Really impressed with the selection of vegetarian options. All the food was perfect, and wasn’t massively expensive! Will absolutely be ordering again

This is hands down the worst Chinese meal we've ever had. A £70 order that was all cold. Then to find watery hoi sin sauce for our duck. Soggy salt and pepper chips. The beef, ginger and spring onion had lumps of ginger and some sort of watery gravy. Soooo bad. Will never order from here again!!

Been using regularly since moved to the island, but food and service has gone down hill and now shut whenever they want ,wont be using them again.

You can't call a chow mein "King prawn" when it's only got 4 prawns in the whole meal...incredibly disappointed...ribs are dry but edible, definitely not salt and pepper though as ordered, overall awful order and won't bother again

Terrible service, ordered online after 1hr15 mins rang to find out where it was. Told it was with the driver, 45 min later rang back they had no idea where or food was, told us they could remake it but would have to join the back of the queue and would be another hour. First and last time we use them

Collected 2 separate orders. Spent a lot of money. Food was dreadful. Chinese style chicken was just over cooked chicken in a disgusting beefy type water. The ribs were not cooked long enough and very chewy plus they came in the same beefy water. Couldn't find 1 bit of egg in the egg fried rice. The beef in the chow mein was just chewy fat 🤢 the chips were stone cold and greasy and the prawn crackers oozed cold oil when bitten into. I did call but they insisted it was all good. Save your money, don't order here. Yuk

Good well prepared and of reasonable quality, but may not be what is described. E.g Satay duck has no mention of chilli or being spicey on the menu, and did not taste very peanutty. Is more of a spicy curried sauce. It also did not have the all the ingredients in the description that was described. Real shame because the cook can clearly do a good job, but obviously rarely tastes own food and checks whether it is the what the menu describes. Safe options are egg fried rice, special fried rice, sweet and sour sauces, curried sauces. This is about my experience. Food is very well prepared. Delivery times can be varied depending on when you order, so I would avoid busy times.

Definitely the worst Chinese I have ever had, half of it was cold, no actually meat on the spare ribs, no taste to anything. The chicken balls were very soggy in the middle and the thimble of sweet and sour sauce you get didn’t go very far at all. My daughters favourite food is Chinese and she wouldn’t even eat it. Only ordered from here as my usual takeaway was closed. Very disappointed and definitely will not be ordering again.

Not impressed at all duck wasn't edible and meal just not good

DO NOT USE THEM! When ordered I was told a hours delivery, i called when it got to 1 hour 15 minutes… I was told it was on its way and the manager would call me back… Shock he didn’t, called back again and it still wasn’t cooked that was nearly 2 hours later… The man on the phone was laughing down the phone at me, to be honest if you can’t trust them with the timescale I wouldn’t trust them with food!

Had a really good take away from here, we had a few people round so had quite a large order but they deliverd quickly, the food was hot, it was all there and they sent us a free egg fryed rice and a free bag of prawn crackers.

2 friends of ours recommended this. Although our first delivery was misunderstood and made us phone them to have our orders delivered after waiting for more than an hour (because we ordered directly upon visiting the store, but since we were carrying a lot of bags, we had to ask for our orders to be delivered), I'd still give it 5 stars because of the taste and quantity of food they bring us everytime. The late order happened just one time and never happened again.

It has been an hour since we ordered online, when we called to follow up the order, the staff told us it will be an hour and a half for it to be delivered. Staff was not very helpful as well. She only told us that it could be 1.5 hours or "i don't know". Seems like she doesn't know what she's doing. Very inefficient.

If I could I wouldnt even give it one star! When I went to collect the cook used his ladel to turn on a switch and carried on cooking with it! When sitting down to eat it the satay chicken smelt really bad and made me feel sick, the sweet and sour sauce was just liquid, the curry sauce was awful and all the other dishes were too. I will never be eating here again and to be honest was the worst Chinese meal I have ever eaten 🤢🤮

Had two takeaway meals from here this year, both on Saturdays evenings. Both have taken nearly 2 hours to turn up and when they do the food is cold. Something not quite right with this place

Don't recommend the crispy lamb,had to bin the meal. Had other meals in the past which were fine.

1wok has always been good for me, with excellent value for the price. The vegetarian options are very good, with vegetarian chicken being the more chewy option, and the vegetarian duck being the softer option. I prefer the vegetarian chicken and have it often.

Good service but very unimpressed with the quality of the food... the order went well and arrived in good time unfortunately that is where the good points end.. the chicken curry was very watery and the chicken was like rubber it was also yellow in colour - somthing Ive never seen from other Chinese takeaways. The rice was bland and the chunks of meat were grissly, most of which had to be spat out and discarded. The chow mein was so dry that I had to mix it with a wetter dish to eat it and the chicken in the chow mein again was rubbery. The salt and pepper to ribs were extremely spicy another surprise as they are not usually spicy from other takeouts. Overall the family and I were very disappointed with what should have been a nice treat and over half the order ended up being thrown away - somthing that's never happened in our house with Chinese! Shall not be ordering again from No1 Wok...

I always order from here and have always rated it as the best chinese on the island. Well tonight has massively changed this and in fact I will now discourage people from ordering because of the risks it poses. I spent £17 as a treat. One of the items I got was a curry sauce. Now I dont know about you but when I get a sauce I pour it all over the food. When i got my 'Curry sauce ' i thought it looked a bit different and a bit lumpy but i didnt think much of it as it's always such good food. So after i poured it all over my food and started to eat and realised it was in fact the peanut sauce. Now this is extremely dangerous for my family as although my daughter is not extremely allergic to peanuts. I would never eat peanuts in the house or order something that has more than trace amounts. Luckily for her she is asleep but this means we simply can not eat the food as it is too much of a risk. I phoned up hoping to get a replacement order, I understand mistakes happened as I've worked in the industry. I actually got the owners son on the phone but he didnt really seem to understand what I was saying so I got passed to a driver who was lovely. I explained the situation and she was very sympathetic and understood why I wanted a new order as the last we weren't able to eat it. However the owners son would not send a new order but instead with refund the sauce and the egg fried rice... the two cheapest items. This is disgusting as we literally can not eat the food. I've already had to bleach the kitchen, changed the throws on the sofa, change our clothes and we have had to thoroughly brush teeth as everything reeks of peanuts. I am disgusted about there lack of regard to customers. As stated above I have always ordered from them and there lack of empathy or even sympathy is disgusting.i will never order again.

One word greasy... flavorless... I knew for this type of "restaurants" you cannot have high expectation but food was horrible- greasy is not the right word for it.. Was like half bottle of oil on the meal plus wierd smell comming from it... Beware of this place....

Ordered a meal for my mother’s 74th Birthday tea. An hour later it still had not arrived. When it finally arrived no prawn crackers and the food was stone cold. Had to ring twice to get the prawn crackers they took 30 mins to arrive and by then we had finished the meal. When I told the delivery driver the food was cold and it’s a bit late for the crackers as we’ve finished she wasn’t interested. Will think twice about using them again and won’t recommend anymore.

Had to wait 1.40 mins for delivery live in Newport. Was told at 40 mins would be 20 mins. Food had to be reheated as Luke warm but hungry so couldn't be bothered by then. Very disappointing .

Sooo rude!! Tried to place an order this evening, we were happy with the hour and a half wait... the girl taking our order was clearly not happy that we accepted the wait! Obiously they were busy and didnt want the extra order!! First she 'couldn't understand me' then she kept getting my post code wrong... telling me I have given her an invalid postcode! 6 times I told her my post code... she still persisted to tell me I got my own postcode wrong!!! I thought maybe it was my signal so I moved.. she said she couldn't here me, I gave up. I told her I would order else where... she seemed to have heard that ok!! But funny how she couldn't hear my address! If you want rude staff this is the place to call!!!

I’ve been ordering from Here for the last 5 or 6 years. Recently the pork chow mein has just been lumps of fat and rice. So I decided to order the Chinese chicken curry as I’ve had it a few times and it’s always been nice. It tasted like someone had poured a whole tub of salt in the sauce!!! I physically could not eat it, it’s been two hours and even after only a few mouthful I’m still so thirsty because of all the salt! Now on to find a new Chinese takeaway 😂

The Food tastes good but myself and my Partner was left quite disappointed - with our Order Last Night. The Soy Sauce was extremely runny and my Partner had ordered Spring Duck Rolls, which had the tiniest amount of Duck in, the rest was just Onion. The Chicken Balls were quite hard too, along with very little Chicken inside. Customer Service, when delivering to the Door, is quite poor too. The Lady that delivered our Food barely spoke a word and came across quite rude. Sorry but we won’t be returning our Custom.

Had nice food from here prior to last night but unfortunately that standard isn't consistent.. chicken fried rice was full of small pieces of beef and the chicken that was present was horrible.. found multiple huge chunks of Grissel from the leg joint. Lemon chicken was soggy and I seriously doubted weather it was cooked or not. Some parts was fine but most was chewy, soggy and like eating rubber. Not wasting my time complaining simply won't go back. Prices and delivery would be fine had the foods quality been worth paying for. You honestly couldn't pay me to go back, I rightfully threw my meal in the bin... Never be going back after this.

There are a lot of Chinese takeaways in the Newport area and I have tried them all. In my opinion this is the best not just the food but the service to as well as the delivery to your door service (always hot) and you don't have to wait very long.

We've ordered from here a few times and haven't had a problem until today. Ordered online and when it finally arrived, the food was cold and some of it was missing. I rang to complain and was told that we would be refunded for the food that didn't arrive, they couldn't send a replacement and their response to it being cold was: 'we are busy today'. So we had half a meal that was cold. Absolutely shocking customer service. We will never order from here again.

Set meal and a couple of extras lasts us for 2 dinners! Duck is always my favourite and nice meaty ribs.

Ordered meal at 8pm told ready 8.30 went to pick up at 8.30 absolute chaos behind counter, 10 mins later get food 5 min indoors dished up and the Singapore noodles, lemon chicken, ribs were cold infact only thing hot was the chips that they had forgot and bagged up at the end! One guy helping had dirty top and jeans on the girl banging up had her coat on!! First time back for 2 years and safe to say won't go back again.

This is the 5th time we have had a meal from No1 Wok and have not been disappointed yet. My wife and I, each, have different meals and every one has been hot and tasty. Ordering is simple (over the counter) and the service is quick, the girl at the counter even brings your order to you instead of calling out for you to collect your food. We will definitely be going here again, might even try and get through the entire menu....

Our Chinese of choice. Always fresh and tasty. We usually collect but delivery service is available, and food is always delivered quickly and arrives hot.
