The best restaurants in Alton Westbrooke East Hampshire South East

A local curry house, with amazing owners and staff. Great food, great service. Went with a group of friends for their New Years Eve celebrations and they could not of done more to make the evening a great experience. The food as always was fantastic, the service could not be faltered the staff did not stop to ensure drinks were flowing food was coming out hot. They had a singer blasting out hits of the 80’s along with a quiz and games. We always get our curries from here as they are an institution within the town and lovely people. Are there many restaurants out there who gave free dining for any families who were struggling on Christmas Day? Use this gem, it is better than the rest…….

Pretty little spot, we were made to feel very welcome. Lots of choice of cakes and beautifully freshly baked scones. Will definitely return.

What an absolutely beautiful book shop/cafe. The books held in the premises are niche and unique. There’s a lovely little corner for children with a play area. At the rear of the shop is a wonderful cafe with a wide range of drinks and cakes (gluten free and dairy alternatives available). I could have spent hours whiling away the day here. I will definitely be back.

Eaten here a few times. It’s great I love the casual dining experience. Staff are lovely food is excellent. Take your own wine . Will be eating at Bahama Bay again.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Every single part of our experience at the Thai Boutique was fantastic. We went on their last day open, and were met with very friendly, polite and accommodating staff. All 6 of us had a starter, main and dessert, and not a single detail was missed. The flavours were exquisite, delicate yet punchy at the same time and extremely well balanced. I tried a bite of everyone's food and I couldn't fault any dish. By far the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Having recently moved to Alton, I am gutted that they will not be operating any more as it certainly would have become a regular stop for us. I would love to see them open a new restaurant in the local area soon!

So this review is for my recent mail order of coffee beans - Celestial and Tiger Stripes blend. I have ordered ground in the past but we’ve now moved to grinding our own beans. Tried both these now and they are absolutely lovely. The tiger stripes in particular is gorgeous! They put commercial supermarket blends to shame and it’s a much better experience than a high st chain. The delivery was swift as well. Thank you.

I have always used Alton Gurkha for a takeaway even before it changed its name. I would have given it 5 stars & always recommend it but the past couple of times I have ordered a takeaway our peshwari naan has been burnt & had no coconut in it. I told them about it the first time & they told me this one I was ordering would be fine but got home & was burnt as well. Also I ordered a chicken tikka chilli masala & asked if it was in a sauce & the person on the phone- who was not the usual person who takes phone orders very young & didn’t seem to understand properly or speak very good English said it was & got home & it was a dry dish. We have voiced our concern but this has put us off possibly ordering in the future.

Stumbled across here by chance and so glad we did, a warm welcome and a warm restaurant on a chilly day. Staff were attentive and genuinely friendly and the food was wonderful. Definitely will return the next time we venture to Alton.

Great atmosphere for an early drink. Only problem was,early Friday evening, plus start to the weekend, NO ale on tap! Only offering lager and Guinness! Other than that quite busy and good atmosphere but sort your beer out

One of the best steak houses around Hampshire

Great food, efficient service, and quality ingredients. Try the King Prawn Rogan and marvel at the wonderful fish. Top marks for Balti Tandoori!👍

We used Deliveroo and Uber Eats over Christmas. The food from Ali Baba’s on both occasions was absolutely delicious. No-one could find a fault with either of the meals.
