Almost 40 minutes late to arrive, after we called the restaurant 3 times, and then cold when it did arrive.

Another fantastic meal at The Spicebank. We were hosted today by the owner Sadik who treated us to one of his homemade desserts which he's trialing for the menu. It was delicious. Thank you Sadik !! To those of you who are residents in and around Alton,or even if you live within driving distance, please go along and have a curry, you won't be disappointed.

I like restaurants that offer something different and this one certainly does! Our waiter was very personable and helped us to choose our meal. I had the Exotic which was very enjoyable, my friend had the Goat curry which was very different, in fact bright green! He seemed to enjoy it though.... An interesting and enjoyable evening.

First visit here and very impressed. Chicken jalfrezi had good succulent chicken, nice and spicy and with good depth of flavour. Lamb chettinad was very tasty - well spiced and great flavour. Side dishes were also very good. Staff were efficient and friendly. Would recommend it - we’ll be back.

Had a home delivery. Boyfriend ordered a lamb jalfrezi and got chicken his mum wasn't impressed with her chicken takeaway massage said it tasted sweet. Mine was ok. Also said there was a 15%discount on home delivery radius up to 3 miles, Alton to Geales crescent isn't that far, and delivery man was unhelpful. I'm hoping when I come to the restaurant in September that the food is a lot better

My wife and I met with two friends for a meal in Alton. We’d not been to the Spice Bank before and we were all very impressed. Excellent service, superb food and a meal that we all felt was great value for money. Not experienced that for a long time. I liked that the menu was not too busy like a lot of Indian restaurants have become, making choice a very lengthy decision.

Although very tasty, the curry was very oily, and the chicken was chewy. Delivery was quick.

Very quiet night due to the awful weather, so a bit lacking in atmosphere. Service was excellent, food was beautifully presented, tasted wonderful. A really excellent meal.

I've eaten in the restaurant the staff are Friendly and engaging, we were a party of 8 and we all had different dishes the verdict was the same all round , delicious food ! I ordered a takeaway a couple of weeks later same delicious food I ate in the restaurant. 10/10 from me .

There were six of us for lunch. The food and service were excellent. Really attentive, but also friendly and professional. Everyone of us enjoyed our meal choices. I had Chicken Vindaloo and mushroom rice..........it was superb. I rounded up the per person price which they kindly put on the bill to the nearest higher pound in order to leave a tip..............having come home and looked at the bill.........our tip was less than generous........that is wrong. I will rectify that on our next visit. Great food, great service, great dining experience. Highly recommended........and we eat a lot of Indian/Bangladeshi food

We visited this restaurant again today, and were very satisfied with the service and quality of food. However I was shocked that once again despite the quality received we were the only diners for a Saturday lunchtime. I cannot understand why lunch service is not supported . The quality of the meals is excellent, as the curries do not have too much sauce, unlike some curry restaurants. I can thoroughly recommend the tandoori garlic chilli chicken.

We've not used The Spice Bank before and we decided it was the best Indian food we've ever had from all the curry houses we've used in Alton in the last 30 years. Absolutely delicious and so tasty. I had tandoori chicken which was so succulent and the sag aloo was the best I've ever eaten. Indian bhajis and chicken jalfrezi equally delicious.

Excellent food cooked fresh at a moderate price. Parking outside a real find. Called in unbooked 4 handed and had a delicious dinner.

I went to this resturant with 4 of my friends this saturday for dinner. I ordered a dish with Chicken Tikka which was half cooked and looked raw. I also ordered a chicken jalfrazy and chicken patiya which was not tasty at all. The food this chief cooked was one of the worst i have eaten in a long time.

A great evening a welcoming atmosphere . they looked after us all and made the children feel special . I think I have found my new favourite curry. I can't remember the name of the dish ( one of the specialties) rich velvety flavorful sauce and the tender melt in the mouth lamb & the perfect level of spice ... looking forward to your food festival..

Food is below average - I've had better in Sainsbury's. Space is minimal - too many tables crammed in. Service - Awful - took ages to get served, not offered drinks or poppadoms before ordering. Expensive - So not worth £65 for two main meals and a drink each - con!

I already wrote a review on the main spice bank terrible food rude staff local Chinese place is way better than this Indian place not coming again and Chinese place serve some Indian dishes that are better than spice banks ! And they are ment to be Indians don’t waste your money like having a micro wave meal

Excellent food, attentive waiters and extremely clean! A great evening out with very tasty food! It was quite busy, so I would recommend booking. Despite being busy, the waiters were extremely attentive and were constantly checking we were okay and if we wanted more drinks. By far the best curry in Alton!

We both had a delicious meal which was accompanied by excellent service (from Raj) all at a reasonable price. We can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living in Alton or just visiting.

We were a party of 4. We were greeted at the door and quickly shown to our table. Waiters were very attentive. We had a lovely meal which we always do. Great staff. Even Raj who had only been there 4 days. He had a lot of wit. Which made our evening. Food was excellent my friend and I tried a fish which we had not had before it come in a bhuna sauce although I like it hot the waiter did bring me some chilli sauce which gave it some hotness. We always have a laugh with waiters thats what life is always about. Compliments to the chef too. We are already booked for good Friday we know we will be treated well. If you haven't been try this restaurant I'm sure you will love it.

My friends and I visited this restaurant again today, and we were very happy to see that the quality of service, food and ambiance were as high as our previous visit. We had a guide dog in our party, and I was very impressed that the staff were interested in talking to my blind friend about her experience. Although we booked for Saturday lunchtime, the lack of other customers was surprising especially with the quality received. Thank you to all staff who made our visit so pleasant.

Superb food and service yet again. We visited for my birthday with the children as well and the waiters were so patient with them. Excellent value for money, especially on a Wednesday with the meal deal.

First time ordering from here as I live two hours away. Visiting my 'golden year' parents who very rarely have a takeaway. They ansolutely loved it! Indian cuisine is a favourite of mine and this was superb. Ordered online, very easy to order, pay and even time collection or delivery. We chose to collect, had a very warm welcome, great service, friendly and professional. The restaurant looks lovely, crisp white table clothes, nice atmosphere (even just collecting a takeaway). Next time we'll dine in. I would highly recommend. Usually I take 'photos but it wouldn't do the food justice on a takeaway occasion 😊.

This restaurant is fantastic. The service was amazing a food incredible. Stayed in the Swan hotel right opposite. Wonderful for a little night away with a fab meal. Disappointed with our second visit ,had Tandoori mixed grill but sadly missing the Tandoori very tasteless no spices .I know the the reason for this and waiter agreed with me .They was dealing with a very big party of people and a lot of them had the Tandoori mixed grill so when it came to my order they had obviously ran out of prepared Tandoori meat so i basically got a plate of plain unseasoned meat .I will add my partners curry was fine and they did knock 10% off the bill .But they should not off tried to con me with what was obviously not a tandoori .I may give them a second chance but not certain at the moment .

The restaurant was very nice, the food and service was good and we will go again however there was one thing that was annoying, we were served by a waiter that looked like he hadn't shaved for 3 days, he told us 2/3 times how he looked after his customers and when we came to pay the bill he asked how much tip he would be getting, i think one of our party left him a pound just to make a point.

Food is too oily. Butter chicken was a bit clawing after a while. Exotic was disappointing especially because it is so costly and not much prawn or lamb- was mostly chicken.😩 naan was good, but was soggy because it took too long to arrive. For nearly £50 I am disappointed.

Enjoyed an excellent meal here with some friends. We all opted for the Buffet Menu, which was really good value, plus a few extras. Service was really attentive, but relaxed and good humoured. I couldn't fault the food at all. Portions were just right. Looking forward to my next visit👍🏻

I was recommended a fish curry which was excellent. Customer service in general was very good although they did NOT honour a 10% web promotion onto our bill explaining it had expired and should have been taken down. The atmosphere was nice and we had a lovely round table however towards the end of our evening another customer entered with their shirt undone which kind of brought down the tone. I’m not sure the entire was appropriate firstly in winter or for a sit down meal.

Fantastic authentic Indian food with a great atmosphere and attentive staff. The dishes that we has were absolutely delicious and a few of my clients were extremely impressed! I visited this place for the first time for my mates 18th birthday and I was outstanded by how good the food was and I will be definitely coming back I recommend this place 100% amazing staff and manager.

The choice of food is excellent. I can recommend The exotic and Bhuna. Cooked to a very high standard. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.The decor is light and airy. Disappointed in the size of the rice and the amount of the king prawns served it was less than the amount of fingers on one hand, not happy about that. Taste was good though.

There was 3 of us for Sunday lunch, taking advantage of the Buffet deal. This includes, one starter, one main, one side, and one rice. The menu is wonderfully diverse, and the chefs dishes are really well chosen, with dishes ranging from incredibly mild, through fragrant to very hot. The tandoori prawns were utterly perfect, the breads and rice were delicious, and the Lall Mirchi blew my mind; it was complex, beautifully balanced, and absolutely a 10/10 from me, the dahba chicken was also absolutely superb, so fragrant and moreish. My partner had keema rice, naan, and a lamb dish. He utterly destroyed it in short order! Man is currently in a food coma on the sofa. The side dishes were lush, the chickpeas and gobi aloo I can definitely recommend. All in all a fantastic decision for a Sunday pig out ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I Highly recommend spice bank definitely the best Indian restaurant in Alton! The food was to perfection and we felt very welcomed by stuff. Been here few times already for various occasions. It has a pleasant atmosphere and the manager Sadik goes out of his way to ensure we was ok.

I was there with my family last sunday. Quite possibly the most uncomfortable we have felt in a restaurant. Waiter just kept walking about... around our table, up and down. There were only two tables taken, so there was just no need. Food was just about Okay. Waiters talk with each other loudly, I'd say bad atmosphere as they push you like finish Your eating and go away from restaurant ..... as I say 'Bizarre!'

Last night I paid another visit to The Spice Bank and had another fantastic meal. Wow, it was so good! I love this place! I had Ajwain lamb chops for starter, lamb Lall Mirchi for main, with a side of Channa Massala and a Chapati. Every dish was fantastic, every mouthful a delight! The food is great value, too. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is fast. If you love Indian food, I'm confident that you're going to love this place, too!

Fantastic service. I mentioned it was my brothers birthday and the staff had given us a lovely table and put up a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner. The service was brilliant and they even surprised us with a delicious birthday cake and candles, and some extra drinks. Very good service and all of the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The food was really delicious and plenty of it! We will definitely be back soon!

Perfect food, perfect service and very friendly staff. Booked for a birthday in a large group and all of the food came out at the same time, fresh and hot (this is something I have found that a lot of restaurants in the area struggle with, but The Spice Bank managed to handle the table size). The booking even came with a complimentary cake which was also very delicious. Everyone had plenty of food, alcoholic drinks that were all generously sized portions with the cost staying very reasonable.

Overall, pretty good. But errors in the order, some mean pricing and meal offers and some bland sides meant nothing more than average, The basics were ok.

Excellent restaurant - knowledgeable staff, courteous and caring. Menu - off the scale, far from a standard curry house. Would highly recommend the Afghan lamb - carefully, slowly cooked with a delicacy of herb and spice.

My partner and me went for a banquet on Wednesday 12.7.23 The food was amazing . We were just staying for one night,so glad we went to the Spice Bank best Indian we have had in a long time .All the staff were very attentive.

Great curry, and great variation of options and very attentive service. Went as a group of 20 and had mixed starters and very kindly they quickly cooked a separate vegetarian option for one of our group. Everyone very happy with the main meals…very tasty. 🍛

We went with friends who had recommended the restaurant - and we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious and just the right amount. The staff were very attentive and friendly. It's definitely worth a trip to Alton to eat there!

We came here for a birthday dinner with a large group of family and friends and the food was amazing drinks were even better and the waiters were astounding and looked after us amazingly would definitely come again
