An amazing and magical bookshop, coffee shop, bar run by the loveliest people. Dog friendly. Amazing cake. Relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful evening events including music, poetry, author chats as well as various clubs. The jewel in our town.

Super coffee and delicious cake ( including a very tasty gluten free lemon drizzle cake all in its separate container) in a bookshop! Pleasant staff member and good value for money coffee and cake. Really glad we popped in - maybe some seats outside would be helpful like the next door cafe has to encourage people to come in. So much on offer in this bookshop like youth book clubs, games to play, second hand and new books, etc. A great find!

What a great little spot. Bookshop and coffee shop. Lovely atmosphere. Polite staff. Cosy and comfy. Browse books, enjoy a coffee and cake. Cake was amazing. Drink was lovely and a perfect place to chill. I will be back for lunch which is something they have started offering with Cheese Louise an independant cheese shop across the road. Have visited before with my 6 year old son as they have a selection of games to play while enjoying a coffee. Which he loves. Well worth a visit.

What an absolutely beautiful book shop/cafe. The books held in the premises are niche and unique. There’s a lovely little corner for children with a play area. At the rear of the shop is a wonderful cafe with a wide range of drinks and cakes (gluten free and dairy alternatives available). I could have spent hours whiling away the day here. I will definitely be back.

Such a lovely little place where you can buy a book and a coffee and just sit and enjoy both in a relaxed atmosphere. A calming little retreat, with a good selection of books and a friendly welcome.

We went to Alton to meet up with family on grim rainy Sunday afternoon in January. We were told that this shop was really nice by another local coffee retailer (Coffee Cherry Roaster’s) we walked in an instantly loved it. I found two books straight away. As we sat down to have our drinks, the owner brought over a 1982 paper back copy of one of my favourite books. Now that’s what i call great customer service. I brought it off him there and then. We brought a grand total of nine books while enjoying our drinks. I would strongly recommend this family run coffee shop to anybody. It’s just perfect. Five stars

What a wonderful, cosy book and coffee shop. We popped in for a coffee, the staff were friendly, the coffee was reasonably priced and tasted great. The atmosphere is perfect to sit back and enjoy some quiet time and catch up. We perused the selection of books and walked away with a couple which was a bonus! Love this place and will return very soon!

Delicious beers and excellent service. Highly recommend. Speaking of delicious, there was a strapping ginger lad there called Christopher. Tall and eloquent. Surprisingly intelligent. Yet quirky in a Ron Weasley kind of way. If you read this Christopher, send me a message!

We celebrated my son's 50th birthday at the restaurant. We thought the food was amazing, Evi was delightful and attentive, we left feeling we had a wonderful time and a beautiful memory to cherish. Thank you.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Every single part of our experience at the Thai Boutique was fantastic. We went on their last day open, and were met with very friendly, polite and accommodating staff. All 6 of us had a starter, main and dessert, and not a single detail was missed. The flavours were exquisite, delicate yet punchy at the same time and extremely well balanced. I tried a bite of everyone's food and I couldn't fault any dish. By far the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Having recently moved to Alton, I am gutted that they will not be operating any more as it certainly would have become a regular stop for us. I would love to see them open a new restaurant in the local area soon!

Incredible. The best quality breakfast we've had in a long time and exceptional value. We'll be returning for sure.
