Best Tap Room around, only it's own beers from the GW microbrewery

Really fab idea little tap room that sells beer made at the Gilbert White House using original and tweaked recipes from Gilbert White himself Several beers on offer and run by those that brew the beer. Was really interesting to learn about the different beers and how they are made . Only open Thursday Friday and Saturday but wholly recommend a visit

Amazing place! Historic old pub nicely refurbished. Most importantly it serves proper beer that is made over the road in the Gilbert White Museum using recipes created by Gilbert White himself! Add in that the staff couldn't be more passionate about what they do and the beer they serve and you have a place that you'll love. Great choice of beer, cider and spirits. We didn't get to try the platters of food this time, but we will be back. Dog friendly too! Only open 3 days a week currently.

There are insufficient superlatives to describe the quality of food, service, and the overall atmosphere at this remarkable restaurant. Thanks to Evi, who runs the front of house, and Nathan, the world class chef for an excellent dining experience.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Every single part of our experience at the Thai Boutique was fantastic. We went on their last day open, and were met with very friendly, polite and accommodating staff. All 6 of us had a starter, main and dessert, and not a single detail was missed. The flavours were exquisite, delicate yet punchy at the same time and extremely well balanced. I tried a bite of everyone's food and I couldn't fault any dish. By far the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Having recently moved to Alton, I am gutted that they will not be operating any more as it certainly would have become a regular stop for us. I would love to see them open a new restaurant in the local area soon!
