Curry Palace in East Hampshire

We organised a retirement lunch for one of team who was leaving, so a party of 13. Curry Palace were really helpful, they delivered our food for just after 12-noon which was amazing as they do not open till then. The food was piping hot and tasted great, there was virtually nothing left. Good value for money as well All in a win:win

Take away Saturday night. Arrived in 30 minutes and piping hot. It was so hot it was difficult to pull the bread apart. The food was so good. The Shabnam Chringri (Keralan lobster) was the tastiest ever. Chicken tikka masala was delicious. We have 4 Indian restaurants in town but Curry Palace is the best!

I’m a very regular customer to this restaurant and so they let me try one of the new dishes they are planning to put on the menu and I must say it’s definitely my new favourites, easily the best curry I have ever had! 10/10 as always.

Had a takeaway for the first time in a while. I couldn’t remember why we stopped ordering from here but unfortunately realised why tonight. The food was tasteless and the meat was fatty, rubbery and to be honest pretty much inedible. Also very small portion. The rice was really salty and pretty much cold. Only one poppadom given and this was chewy and stale. The naan bread was half burnt and again didn’t taste of much. The cost was also a little ridiculous. Delivery was £5 and we live literally down the road. Ordered delivery as we have both had a couple of drinks and didn’t fancy walking in the rain. Safe to say we won’t be ordering from her again.

The food was excellent, the staff gave excellent recommendations, I had the garlic chilli chicken which was to die for. Will definitely be returning again! Thank you!

As an Indian restaurant this is pretty average. It has a very typical menu and the specials aren't very special. Most dishes are served with a fairly generic sauce that lacks flavour although may be quite hot. The lamb was clearly precooked and fairly tough. They really aren't trying very hard in the kitchen to make this an authentic experience.

very disappointed with the food and service we received after reading other diners reviews, I didn't feel that we got value for money

Impromptu visit for a family of four. The staff were really accommodating and attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant was well presented and the table was very clean and well set out. The food was excellent quality, and was fragrant and packed real flavor. The portions sizes were good, although for those with big appetites maybe on the smaller size. My only suggestion would be a larger naan! Definately recommended all to try this place, we will certainly return.

Alton happens to be the midway point between the two of us - so a natural place to meet up. We first picked the Curry Palace off the map over a year ago, planning to go somewhere else each time. Since then, we've probably been back on average once or twice a month - not once have we had a poor meal. The food is fabulous, the staff great and the prices fair. Well worth giving this place a try if you haven't. One day we won't both be driving and will take them up on the offer of a nightcap.

Thank you again for my 4th birthday curry with friends (my 4th year of celebrating my birthday this way, not my actual 4th birthday!). There were about 20 of us and the food was as incredible as ever. Myself and a few others are vegan and the separate vegan menu is extensive... I went for my absolute favourite dish of vegan karahi with lemon and cashew rice and a chapati... as ever it was perfect. I wish I could eat it forever! It is by far the best restaurant in town... possibly Hampshire... possibly the WORLD. Great service, excellent food, attention to detail (I got a mini bottle of prosecco with a candle in it for my birthday!) and such a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you to Shahid and the brilliant team. Visited here with my wife Jan 2023. Very nice food and outstanding service, very attentive and helpful. Manager even sorted us out a taxi back to our hotel as we were struggling to get one. If you like good Indian food and are nearby, don't miss out on this place.

There is a choice of Indian restaurants in Alton and I have tried them all. This one is a cut above and we only eat here when in Alton. The food quality and service is great, with friendly staff. Try the Gurkha Revenge if you like it hot. The madras is spot on for average heat. Keep it up Curry Palace.

Decided to have a Sunday banquet £15.95 but as it was December they had the festive banquet @ £25.95 and they even offered it for 2 dine in customers. The restaurant look like a typical Indian, but don't let the fool you. The food was fresh and tasty, even though I did not manage to experience the smaller normal banquet, the Christmas one was very filling and provided many options. We even asked to have a doggy bag as could not finish it all. They also offer tribute nights, something I may go and re-visit. The restaurant manager gave us complimentary drinks after the meal. Definitely go and try the place out.

While we were down south we visited here on a Wednesday evening. Since it was a Wednesday we got the deal for starter, main and rice or naan for £15.95 which is really good value. The food was excellent, the curry I had was really tasty although one word if warning is they don't mess around with the level of spice, I did find it really hot as the meal went on even though on the menu it had one chili next to it. Overall really recommend a visit here, especially on Wednesdays or Sundays.

Firstly, this is not a 'smart' curry house, but in many ways, it's all the better for it, putting emphasis on service and quality food rather than a fancy decor. We were greeted by a very friendly staff on arrival and given a good table....
