Great food, efficient service, and quality ingredients. Try the King Prawn Rogan and marvel at the wonderful fish. Top marks for Balti Tandoori!👍

The Kheema naan was dry and no meat inside. The Chicken Madras was full of chewy bits and grisly. The Lamb was tough and chewy. The Kheema rice tastes of nothing but oinion.

This was my first time eating with the Balti Tandoori and I wasn’t disappointed. The meat was good quality, the food flavoursome, delivered ahead of predicted time and the driver was polite. If there were to be a couple of tweaks - I’d say the samosas were a tiny bit too greasy and the bhajis could have packed a little more flavour - but these pointers are minimal and don’t detract from the superb five star meal I thoroughly enjoyed this evening.

Food remains excellent. Great cuts of meat, and chefs very good indeed. However, has muffed up our recent orders, after a long wait, which is frustrating. Very popular in a modest sized kitchen, but serves its own client base, which has been loyal for many years, as well as the just eat crowd. So, reluctantly we are exploring other options.

With friends and pre-booked (the dining area is very small) we had dinner whilst they dealt with a high volume of take-aways. Our request to be quick as a train had to be caught was fully achieved and the service prompt and friendly as well as the food being very reasonably priced with an extensive menu. Our starters were almost meals in themselves with generous portions, likewise the mains with the chicken curry tikka particularly tasty. Very good value.

After a bad experience, the manager came to my house to apologise. At this point I have to say probably the best costumer service I have ever received. I was between surprised and delighted. Maybe the food was not right, but it s amazing to see how people are so devoted to their job and hobby (if I may add as i am a kitchen manager myself and I do love my job so much I even consider it a hobby) they go above and beyond to fix things. People still surprise you with their good acts. He offered me to try their food again on the house. And so I did. The food came in time, ther driver apologised again for the lateness of the last time. The food was hot and tasty. Very well taken care off (packaging, presentation) what is sometimes difficult with take aways. My kid who rarely eats anything new tryed and liked absolutely everything. As for us we ate everything. No left overs. Everything was nice, specially the murgh raani (we had to fight for the last bits). Thank you very much for your amazing costumer service and your food. Sadly we will be moving in September but I look forward to order again with you guys anytime soon before leaving Alton.

We ordered Takeaway and the food was very bland. It has always been our go to in Alton for both eat in and take out. We ordered two Nan Breads but they were not with the meal. We rang and they just kept saying that we had them. A search of the car came up with no nan breads. They were brought out to us after my husband had a really big moan. The Onion Baji's were excellent, as always but both main dishes were very bland, almost tasteless. We felt that this was the second time that we had been underwhelmed which is a shame as we have always been pleased in the past and have taken many people there to eat. Not sure now.

Service was quick and friendly and the portions generous, hot and delicious. Both starters and mains were chicken based and with non-alcoholic drinks (they do not do alcohol) the cost of some £45 including tip was reasonable. This place used to be excellent - certainly far better than the only other alternative in town - and we used to come here a lot, both to eat in and take out. However, the last 2-3 times I've ordered a take out from Balti Tandoori, I've noticed several changes:1. The front of house staff member has changed from a competent young lady to an incompetent young man who is incapable of keeping on top of the orders as they come in by phone and seems to have been given no training for the role nor customer service.2. They tell you it will be ready in 45 minutes - the first two times I waited for a further 20 minutes with others upon arrival and on the third occasion, not to be fooled again, I arrived after one hour to then wait queuing with about 10-15 others for a further 40 minutes!3. On every occasion, the manager emerges from the kitchen - flustered - asks the people in the queue what they've ordered again, then disappears for a while to prepare one order at a time, then re-emerges to repeat the process. Why aren't the orders being processed in advance or the customers given realistic timescales when they get busy?4. The quality of the meals has diminished too - the sauce doesn't taste as nice as it used to and you basically get a takeaway tin of sauce with a couple of pieces of meat in it.I won't be returning, sadly, as it would be nice to be able to order a take out curry in Alton. It means a 45-minute round trip to the Shar Manzil in Liss instead - their dishes are divine and well worth the drive given the alternatives.

I orderd a takeaway consiting of a tarka dal, and a salmon curry with boiled rice. The food was pretty good, except that the salmon curry had no salmon. Instead it was a white fish, the choice being monk fish or salmon. Well I'm not convinced it was monk fish, and I was not keen on it. This is the second time this has happened, so I am not happy. Pity really, because the food is inexpensive, and the quality decent. This is a standard British Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant, not special, but fine if you fancy a curry. We live in Alton and have used Balti Tandoori several times. The restaurant is tiny but the food is good and reasonably priced. The takeaway aspect of Balti Tandoori definitely lets it down, particularly if you're expecting a delivery rather than collecting in person. In my experience, there are too few staff, too many orders and not enough after-care for customers. Our first takeaway order was tepid. Our second takeaway order, a couple of months later, never arrived. As in, it never got delivered- but when we repeatedly rang to ask where our food was, we were told that it had been delivered! No effort was made to trace where our order had gone or to replace it, and they refused to give us a refund. We now choose to collect the food- it is tasty (particularly the murg jaiselmer) but we can't shake the feeling that ordering food from Balti Tandoori is like taking a spin on the roulette wheel. Don't expect any customer service.

This place was never supposed to be a sit down restaurant. Squeezed in to a living room sized restaurant you feel like you're eating with everyone else, like one big party. And with no extraction you're all wearing the same scent at the end of the night (chicken sizzler). And this, along with the authentic menu, distances the Balti Tandoori from your average Indian restaurant. I've eaten here a few times, and always look forward to it. The menu always has something I've not seen before, and I'm a sucker for exploring the chef's specials menu. The owner is a charming guy, who is constantly looking after everyone when he's not cooking. I won't recommend particular dishes because I imagine it's all very good. Some Indian restaurants use a base sauce which makes all dishes taste fairly similar. The choices are often red or yellow sauce. But these guys use ingredients properly and create textures with them. So I'd recommend trying everything! And don't forget to bring your own beer.

Not to me.There is a few tables in this mainly takeaway restaurant and a couple I know left for the pizza express after being ignored for 15 minutes. Brilliant takeaway curry from here - We always use this curry house as they provide excellent service and excellent food. If you have any issues they will go out of there way to solve and amend anything that might cause an issue for you. We had a curry from here on Monday (2nd may) and i can not fault the it at all! Thank you for sorting the order out especially the forgotten dish (Saved me from getting in trouble!)

I love the food from here. Gave them a good review last year, but after two bad deliveries in a row i feel i need to make the point. No matter how good the food, if you are going to deliver it late and luke warm, alongside a few broken promises of when it will arrive, you will start to put people off. Ordered at 7.15, promised for 8, chased at 8.20, promised for 8.25, delivered at 8.45. Most of it luke warm at best. Such a shame..

First time I'd ever been there and wasn't disappointed. The food was really lovely. We were given plenty of help with our choices and weren't rushed at all. It's a very small restaurant and almost felt that you were in someone's house. I really enjoyed it and will go back soon.

Delicious authentic indian food! We were there was a group of 8 and had our piping hot food served fresh. Good service and the chef was very funny too! I don't drink, but, the rest of them brought their own beer/wine as you can only purchase non-alcoholic drinks there. Thumbs up!

Had a very unfortunate experience whereby half of our order was forgotten. We collected, paid and drove back to discover this - we live just over 5 miles away so could not travel back to pick it up. Strongly recommend checking before collecting.

To those collecting a take away please check everything is there before leaving/paying. Half of our order was left out but after driving several miles there and back we were unable to collect the rest - extremely disappointing.

I have to admit that I am a regular here for takeaways. Also dine in. Bring your own booze (no corkage). No frills. No flock wallpaper. Just honest tasty curry. Best value, yes, but not just value, quality too. Phone ahead for takeaway to save the wait. My best local curry house for 25 years!

This is always our go place for a take away curry. The food is excellent, always hot and very generous servings. We tend to ring through our order first because the wait time is usually around 40 minutes. We have never 'sat in' to eat because it is always so busy and we like to eat in the quiet of our own home but if we had been out for a night in town I'm sure we would consider it. My favourite dish is Prawn Shimla, very green but very tasty and my husband nearly always has Lamb Dhansak which is his favourite, so go try it I'm sure you will love it.

I have been a customer here for several years and absolutely love the food here. I love that is always freshly made and full of flavour as well as being reasonably priced. The only reason they do not get 5 stars is that sometimes when they are very busy, the customer service slips. A couple of times my order has been completely wrong and you just wish that when they do get so busy they just stop taking orders so they can catch up. However I have witnessed them continue to pack the orders in even though it has resembled chaos. 95% of the time though the place is superb. Best curry in Alton area.

First time visit this evening and this place certainly lives up to previous reviews. Food was excellent and the service was friendly. I love a good curry and this was certainly the best I've tasted in a long while.

After living in the heart of the asian community in London for years, we always took good curry for granted. But i have to say after moving to hampshire, we have had a decade of curry denial. Everywhere we had previously tried was just not very authentic, and it all just tasted as if it had come out of a tin. BUT............. The Balti has changed that. The food is proper curry, very authentic, and consistently good, be it a delivery or not. We are very happy to once again include curry as a regular menu option.

I called from the USA to place a delivery order for my Mum as she was not feeling well. The owner, Mr. Abdul, was so kind and considerate and made a special order dish and personally delivered it to my Mum. I can not thank him enough his kindness, the excellent service and meal provided. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. The food was amazing (as per my Mum :).

A fantastic little restaurant, with service and food that cannot be faulted. The restaurant is unlicensed, so diners can 'bring a bottle' which can afford a much more cost effective experience over some restaurants. Whilst the setting is small, it is pet of the charm as it isn't based on volume of customers, and the quality of the food reflects this.

Never had the chance to eat in st this place as generally a curry is a takeaway for my lot and there is no where else I would go locally! The food is always great and generally at the time they say it will be ready. It amazes me that they manage this considering the girl at the counter had 3 phones on the go straight the same time whilst taking money and handing over the food.As I said I have never eaten in but I know s lot who have and even though it's tight on space every one has given great reports!

I have ordered from this takeaway several times over the past year or so and have never had a bad curry. Food has been good every time. If I have one negative thing to say will be that the Onion Bhajis are more often than not over cooked and quite oily in my opinion but still edible and tasty😃

It’s a few years since we’ve been to this restaurant and we had many good experiences in the past. Sadly, this visit was less than impressive. Our relatively early evening booking saw poppadoms and pickle tray delivered. One dipping pot was chipped in several places and really should be discarded in the bin. Tight servings of the pickle dishes for 6 people - perhaps review the portion sizes you serve as a plain poppadom is little more than a large crisp otherwise. Drinks arrived eventually. Main courses ordered and we sat back and chatted, chatted, chatted…waiting for the plates we used for our poppadoms to be collected from the table. A gentle hint of the customers stacking up these plates eventually caught the attention of the waiter and he came over to remove them from our table. Then we had time to chat, chat, chat, chat whilst waiting for our main course to be served. Thank goodness we didn’t order anything over complicated or starters. After an hour and a quarter we caught one of the waiters and politely asked whether our main course was due to arrive. As if by magic, we were informed we were next and the dishes arrived in a rather haphazard disorganised way, so our group got rice but no curry or their curry but no rice etc. Rice portion sizes were also very small. Several of the dishes served to our group contained chicken - it was tough. The chicken jalfrazi looked like no other chicken jalfrazi I’d ever seen served in a similar restaurant. Very little tomato found within the jalfrazi hence it appeared rather too dark brown ( I know recipes differ). It was disappointing to see that tables are no longer covered in table cloths as most appear to be, chipped crockery, long waits before being served, waiters running in the restaurant, waiters carrying 4 plates, 4 rice dishes, plates of naan bread whilst serving customers - no serving trolleys or trays used. There was lots of rushing around by staff and perhaps far too many customers in the restaurant for the staff to cope with. Yes, it was busy, but when customers are forced to wait exceptionally long for their meals to arrive, the quality of cooking and ingredients, small portion sizes of dishes you start to question whether it’s worth going there again? Sadly, our answer to that would be an overwhelmingly no. There are so many other good restaurants in the area - Whitehill and Alton where service, quality of food and portion sizes are so good why would you want to return? Which is such a shame because in previous years we’ve had good food and a good experience here. I just wonder what has happened to change this? Maybe more staff are needed or spread table booking times so your kitchen and waiting staff aren’t so overwhelmed.
