The best restaurants in Dover South East

Hotel rooms were adequate, nice roll top bath, but no hot water!! Breakfast staff were surly and rude. Basically poor, I would not recommend this hotel to a friend.

Never go in cafe again . Why fo these places discriminate against dogs . I felt hurt and upset . My dog loves visiting cafes and was so excited only to be told I could go in even though we were going to sit outside . Rude and obnoxious lady . Don't deserve one star at all

First time visit. Staff were very welcoming and restaurant is extremely clean and modern with white table clothes, white walls etc. Our starters of chicken tikka and sheep kebab were fresh and very well seasoned and cooked. Our mains and sides were equally well prepared and presented with no ghee floating on top. Excellent value including the wine list.

17 year old ‘Bouncer’ was loudly making rude comments about my wife to the bartender. Seating and furniture tired and uncomfortable.

This place really is up there as one of the nicest pubs in Deal, a perfect all-rounder. Traditional and welcoming, you can find yourself a nice cosy table or stand at the bar for a chat. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Off the beaten track, so not overcrowded; really worth a visit!

Amazing food. Super tasty and fresh. Loved it. Had a great chat with Joe about his life in India and so much more. We were pretty much the last ones to leave — and I couldn’t be happier visiting this nice and cozy place. 100% must visit the basement pub/ restaurant. PS - The cask ale is kickass too, do try.

Always order a takeaway from here, tasty and delivery always hot. Reasonably priced and order time usually right.

We come here regularly and have never had a bad experience. Today we came for an anniversary and again, top notch service / food. The staff here are friendly and always happy to help. Food was perfectly cooked and delicious, with a great selection on their menu. Would definitely recommend their Sunday roasts. The overall setting inside is cozy, especially in the cold winter months near the fire places. The pub is also dog friendly

This was our second visit to the Lantern and on a very busy Saturday night. However, our food was excellent and far excelled the expectation of a pub: Succulent short rib and a memorable venison pie, generous portions and delicious. We cannot wait to go back ...

I didn’t receive my order. My phone was dead so I didn’t have the code. The man said he doesn’t care about my refund.

Get the table with the beach view. Double salad is good. Get the grown ups churros pudding. My son's review age 6!

I visited Costa st James street 1 week back and now I’m a daily customer . The staff is really very good they listen to me how I want my drink. Very neat store, very friendly.

The food was amazing and hot and fast delivery. The way the food is done is better than all we've been to before. The salt and chilli squid was perfection. There satay sauce is next level amazing and everything else we got was on point. We've used yummys loads now and they deserve a good review.

Service was brilliant. But chips were over cooked, soggy and cold, sausage was rock solid. Otherwise service was brilliant and the gentleman I spoke to on phone was very helpful.
