The Happy Fryer Fish and Chips Kebab Takeaway in Dover

Service was brilliant. But chips were over cooked, soggy and cold, sausage was rock solid. Otherwise service was brilliant and the gentleman I spoke to on phone was very helpful.

The worst fish & chips I've ever had

Ordered at 18:55 - I Received it at 20:17 - 2 of the Meals were for Children!

Great service and food. One of favourite places in town. Today ordered just onion rings, like always delicious, juicy and super Crunchy 👌

sadly the meal was not good. The chips were 'chewy' or hard, and the fish batter was very very hard, and we could only eat a very small amount of the meal.

arrived late for which the delivery driver apologised. food was overcooked and cold

Did not get what I ordered ..quite clearly reheated chips. Worst meal I have ever had from here which is a shame as I rated higher than other constabuliers in the area.

Delivery driver was lovely and friendly. Food was delicious. Good portion size. 100% recommended to others. Would buy again.

Usually really quality good, but the meat in the wrap was so dry. Not helped by minimal sauce

Didn't have the lamb shish we ordered so got replaced with a chicken shish, however the food was exceptional. Hot and tasty. Just a shame they didn't have the lamb shish we wanted and the delivery was a bit late. Other than that, no problems. The driver even apologised for the delay.

Burger îs ok, good and not expensive but still...,put some onions /tomato etc în it. you put bred and beef and that s it...🙈 do it profesional. Ask more money but do it right!

Slow service, they seem to prioritse uber eats and just eats over customers who walk in. Waited nearly 20 minutes for a portion of chips. Castle Street you wouldn't be waiting no longer than 10 minutes.

Officially the end of happy fryer. Since they've "renovated" this place has gone dramatically downhill and I'm getting the vibe they don't event want the business. I've just had the most undercooked chips I've ever had in my life and somehow the chicken nuggets were chewy. It's a shame as we were regulars of this place ordering every other week. Unfortunately this is the end.

Would leave negative feedback if I could .ordered for lunch the mixed kebab meal with separate pitta chips onion rings and a bottle of drink plus 2 sauces. Chips and onion rings cold sauce unreal supposed to be chilli but not . Can not bottle of pop as stated kebab was also tepid and just lamb diner not mixed as stated pitta was with meat not separate plus blue plastic in kebab. Called to ask for re delivery still waiting after an hour dreadful !!

I don’t eat red meat sent me beef burger instead of chicken burger, had uncooked chips vile.

Ordered when only 10 minutes away. Food took well over and hour. Everything showed up cold and most of our items were wrong. Chips were raw and freezing cold. Payed for large wrap and cheesy chips but received a small for both. All 4 drinks arrived wrong. Payed almost £50 just hoping for some half decent food and we’re thoroughly disappointed. Also only a 2 on their hygiene rating. Would not waste your money

Ordered our food for collection at 4 when we arrived at 3:55 it was already prepared and ready for us. Food was really good would definitely order again.

Wasn't expecting much but the chicken and chips box with garlic sauce was so delicious. Better than I've had elsewhere. The staff obviously care about their service too.

Ordered a child’s fish’s and chips and a child’s fish fingers and chips about 2-3 weeks ago after waiting an hour for the food all the food arrived cold, when I rung up and informed all the food was stone cold he said he new the curry sauce was cold as the machine hadn’t been switched on and offered me a curry sauce next time, I said all of the food was cold my sons fish finger was soggy not cooked properly, chips cold and soggy and the potion of fish, I threw it all away as I didn’t want to risk getting ill from food that wasn’t cooked properly, I asked for a refund and one meal only and he said he would contact Deliveroo and get the refund for me still haven’t got it. So not very impressed with this service he wasn’t rude or nasty just not impressed with the quality of food

Placed and order that arrived and was missing items, the pie was also mouldy! Called to advise the restaurant and was greeted with verbal abuse and shouting. I was called crazy and a liar and the owner hung up on me after informing me I was not the queen or prime minister, he is not responsible and doesn’t wish to make customers happy. If I could leave a negative star rating I would.

This kebab we had tonight just smashed it out of the ball park....salad was the best weve ever had, the doner meat... outstanding....100% recommended for sure...

Stopped off here for some fish n chips really fresh n tasty with very friendly staff. Will be back for more !!

Just moved to Dover and was really impressed with happy fryer I ordered a gourmet burger and I was blown away with delicious it was 10/10!

Absolutely shockingly rude customer service. Spent over £25 for 2 kebabs and some chips. When it arrived the salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, 1 slice of cucumber and the end of a tomato. I called up to complain. I was yelled at down the phone and was told 'everything is so expensive now that we don't offer more in a salad' he then started yelling in a foreign language down the phone. When I told him I was going to leave a bad review he told me that was fine as loads of others do. I hope this place goes out of business as their kebabs are dreadful and their customer service even worse. Rude, nasty, vile place.

Will never go back to that place again the fish and chips was so oily and very expensive. No plate, knife and was only plastic forks so not suitable for dine-in. Not good at all

When I first starting eating here the food was ok but the last few times it has gone down hill. The last order from here was two Cod and chip, the Cod was awful, it tasted like it was at least three day old, the batter was soggy and looked like it had been reheated from the day before. NEVER EVER going back. Had put put one star to post a review but I wouldn't give it any if I could.

Fish and chips were disappointingly cold and when returned to the restaurant the response from the owner was even more disappointing. Certainly didn't get the anticipated apology... just got a fiver refund! Not the best way to treat your customers!

The food was disgusting the whole order was cold the burger was still pink the chips weren’t cooked and the meat was rubbery. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING FROM THERE.

An absolutely beautiful piece of fish with a very generous helping of chips.

From time to time have eaten here fir the past 20 years. My daughter used to like going there with her grandparents.

Ordered online as a treat for myself and my lads. Massive portions delivered on time and piping hot. Chips good but kebabs very poor. Salad okay, chicken poor quality and dry with no flavour. Pitta was like cardboard. Very disappointed, not cheap and couldn't eat most of our kebabs. Not recommended.

Cod was tasteless , also very watery! One of the worst bits of cod I have ever had to eat also chips was soggy and curry sauce wasn’t even cooked frozen in the middle

Freshly fried haddock and chips to order, delicious and generous portion of mixed kebab .Just what we needed on a Sunday afternoon as we were straight off the ferry!

Great food and good only misses out on 5 stars due to cash payments only.

Will necer order from here again, 2nd worst chip shop in dover, batter was all soggy, fish looked horrid as though kept for too long, chips r disgusting, battered sausage tasted rank.

Fish was a touch under done (ashame for the fish) and the chips were looking a bit pale. I guess they need to practice a bit more.

1st thing they need to do is change their oil as it's been overused and everything had a nasty taste to it because of this. Chips were hard so we couldn't eat them and the batter was soft and greasy. We've eaten from here once before and it was great. Such a shame!very disappointed ☹️

Very disappointed with food and service. Food was late and when we rang up they said the driver had already been to the house and there was no-one there. When the driver turned up with the food it was cold and not very good. Would not use again.

Took an hour from time of ordering for the food to turn up! The food was cold, and we ordered cod and chips and they gave us just cod and when I rang they said £4 something was just for cod,, online and on their menu it says no where you have to order chips separately! We ordered two cans of drinks which where flat and not fizzy! Will not be ordering from here again and will recoment people go else where!!!! When our complete order was finally here we found the cod to be extremely greasy and slimey,, and all in all not edible,, the chips are rubber like and taste horrible to even try and eat!

I ordered cod n chips from here and and a burger. Burger was nice I phone them the first time to explain that the fish wasn't cooked n they sent me a new one. The new one arrived n it was the same phone them back and they said they couldn't refund me the money back for the cod and chips as he already exchange the first one.

Friendly staff and excellent service. Delicious food to take away or eat in. Love their fish and chips but particularly love their large battered sausages - truly scrumptious.
