This place really is up there as one of the nicest pubs in Deal, a perfect all-rounder. Traditional and welcoming, you can find yourself a nice cosy table or stand at the bar for a chat. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Off the beaten track, so not overcrowded; really worth a visit!

I have to be honest and say we have walked past this pub dozens of times without going in. Like a lot of the 'older' pubs in Deal, its difficult to see inside I now know this was a mistake. Friendly staff, a lovely 'sun trap' garden, good beer and wine. Can't wait to return and try the food.

Great local pub right in the heart of Whitstable. The Sunday roast was fab with loads of veg - three types of potatoes and at least six types of veg. It's not easy to get a roast on a Sunday anymore so very many thanks to the Prince Albert for filling a gap in the market. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices.

The pub staff and wine were lovely however whilst the area outback was pleasant - we were upset to see that there was a very lonely little bird in a cage against the wall. The little bird could do with a friend :(

Went as a family of 6. Two vegetarians & one gluten free. Warm, friendly welcome. Drinks in the bar before moving into the small restaurant. Chalkboard menu with a nice selection of meals. Waitress was well informed and very professional. They were able to make a gluten free mushroom sauce for one of our party. The homemade steak & ale pie melted in the mouth. Everything ordered was eaten and enjoyed, including desserts. 3 of our group had never eaten here before but would definitely return. Well done.

Small pub in the historic Middle street in Deal. There is a Bar area (with a couple of local beers on tap) and a separate restaurant layout (food looked good). Dogs are welcome in the bar, but not in the restaurant section. Odd though, food is not served in the bar, so it’s dogs OR food, not both. So we were unable to eat here.

It was difficult to get a booking here, so clearly popular locally. No chance for Sunday lunch (which we'd had a year or two ago when on holiday in Deal before, and remembered was very good) even though I called a couple of days in advance. We managed to get a table for two on the Saturday. Not sure if it is a pub or a restaurant, as the restaurant part is maybe bigger in size than the bar. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere great for a quiet drink and chat (no loud music in the background). There is also a small courtyard garden at the back. The food was very good and there is a veggie option. I had the skate and was happy with it. The marmalade bread and butter pudding was to die for! The only negative point was that the bill is given on scraps of paper stapled together and is not clear at all what is what - in fact I thought the total was actually the table number. When that was sorted out, the bill was established as £53 (reasonable I thought, and included a bottle of house wine) and I gave the waitress £60. She then said "do you want change?". We were quite taken aback that she should assume we were going to leave £7 tip - and she was not the most helpful waitress we've ever had! I actually left her £5 but my fellow diner said because of her cheek, I should have left her the £2 coin. Despite this blip, I would go again and recommend the food.

My family and I have been coming here for years and there is nowhere in the local area that does better food, especially as it's in a cosy, traditional pub as well. The food is a perfect mix of restaurant quality but home cooked style. The menu changes every so often but is always full of good options, the mainstays such as a pie, steak or locally caught fish are always perfect. The chef also provides excellent vegetarian options, I rarely order veggie options but I've been persuaded a couple of times here! The owners, the chef and front of house, are the nicest guys and always make you feel welcome as do the other staff here. They always have good traditional seasonal ales rotating as well! Couldn't give this place a higher recommendation, it really is the best place in and around Deal.

The actual restaurant area is very nicely furnished having wooden paneling and photos from the pubs earlier years on the walls. The service is good. The food is fresh and the menu changes periodically with specials offered. The only drawback for us is that starters aren't on the menu. You can have dinner and a desert or cheese and biscuits. The food is cooked really well here and mainly caters for 'Middle England' with safe dishes like Scampi and chips, Home-made Pies , a fish dish (Usually Sea Bass), A vegetarian dish, Steak etc. The Restaurant area is set to one side of the bar so is quite intimate and private, it is usually nice and quiet - unless there is a large party in. It is sometimes hard to get in especially towards the weekend, Friday and Saturday Night and Sunday lunch is always popular. The restaurant does not do starters (A shame) but has a selection of afters like jam Roly Poly, Ice Cream, Sticky Toffee pudding and Cheese and Biscuits. A safe bet if you are taking your mum, granny or anyone who likes food well cooked but without much spice or flair and has a liking for cuisine that was served in the 1980s. Always busy so obviously still a market for food well cooked that does not push any boundaries.

The Prince Albert is in the North end of the coastal town of Deal. The interior and the ambience are typical of the older pubs, so very comfortable with very interesting pictures etc. around the walls. Very good beer in a small but friendly bar. The dining area has about 8 tables and you pre- order your meals from the blackboard while you have a drink in the bar. When your meals are ready, the waiter collects you and seats you , then your eating experience begins. We chose the mutton stew, a very old British menu option which I don't think we've had for about 40 years. The meat was so tender and the cooking gravy absolutely perfect which brought back pleasant memories.Finished with a cheese plate which included a wonderful Shropshire Blue.A great evening.

Superb pub food piping hot and fresh cooked. There are only about 20 covers and food only served for a couple of hours per day from mid week to Saturday and Sunday lunchtime. Had to book to get a table. I had a homemade fully loaded chicken pie served with a good gravy and accompanied by the chefs selection of fresh veg - which they happily adapted to personal taste. The other half had the dinner of his dreams tucking into home made steak and kidney suet pudding, well made mash and his personal choice of just peas and carrots. All rounded off by a creamy and delightful butterscotch cheesecake. The service was friendly and good. All this including a couple of drinks for £35 . We've eaten at the pub/restaurant many times and have always had a very good meal. The menu isn't vast but there are enough items to have choice. The only drawback is that they don't offer starters, only mains ans desserts plus a cheeseboard. We would prefer to have a starter and main as my husband doesn't really eat desserts although he's happy enough with the cheese platter and I'm diabetic so desserts aren't really suitable although I "cheat" sometimes. The actual setting is lovely and cosy, especially in the cooler months. Service has always been efficient and the staff are great. There's a pretty good wine list too. The beer, for the men, is also good, real ales. This venue is local and we can walk there which is a bonus as we don't have to rely on taxis after having had wine! Arrived just after 2:30 when food would ordinarily have stopped being served. We were running late and asked if they could fit us in. Initially thought probably not but would ask the kitchen. So glad that they made the effort to accommodate us as the food was really very good and the surroundings very clean and welcoming.Wife chose the smoked haddock in a cheese and leek sauce whilst me and the daughter chose the pancakes stuffed with spinach, ricotta and tomatoes with basil. The mains come with chips, mash or lyonnaise potatoes and a selection of either steamed vegetables or salad. The food was well presented and very tasty. The haddock was naturally smoked and not bright yellow. The pancakes were used to line a white oven dish and then this created a sort of vegetable pancake lasagne. Wholesome and well balanced flavours that lingered in the mouth. Servings were generous but not so big that they become a conquest as so many pubs try to do these days. Quality and just the right quantity for people with a good appetite. The desserts all looked great but we all chose the syrup sponge with custard. Piping hot and a generous serving which really was full of vanilla flavour.Including two glasses of a nice French Rosé and a Beck's Blue as I was driving the bill was a very reasonable £55.A memorable pub Sunday lunch because nothing disappointed, everything was fresh and well cooked. The menu is very good indeed and there were two vegetarian options. I'd highly recommend this pub if you are in Deal not just for food but for a well stocked bar with wide choice of wines and always two regional real ales impeccably served.

I've been visiting Deal for years and never been able to get a table within a week of my request, so I'm totally unsurprised a previous reviewer couldn't get a walk in table, they can only cater for around 16 max.The food is home made and completely cooked to order, this creates an issue, as they don't do starters you can wait 30-40 mins for you food to arrive. I'd suggest some simple prawn cocktails, pâté, etc to make some more revenue and disguise the wait. Puddings are old fashioned and delicious.

This is our favourite pub in Deal. The landlords, Michael and Colin, welcome EVERYONE, regardless of gender, creed or race, and one would travel a long way to find more hospitable, professional and friendly 'mine hosts'. The pub comprises a cosy wood-panelled bar, adjoining restaurant and small courtyard garden at the rear. There is a wonderful olde-worlde atmosphere where people gather to chat and meet up with friends - definitely no fruit machines! Michael keeps a fully stocked wine cellar and an ever-changing array of guest ales, including those from local breweries. Colin works his magic in the kitchen and serves up tasty, home-made food and his Sunday roasts are famous throughout the town. However, booking is often essential unless a cancellation occurs. A really wonderful little hostelry and it's just a shame that more pubs can't be like this one.

Wonderful place for a quiet drink, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. We have had an amazing Sunday lunch there on more than one occasion and it's so popular that we often can't get a table so you need to book well in advance. Well worth a visit.

As soon as you walk through the original old wooden doors of this pub, you feel the relaxed, mature ambiance surrounding you. Always a great selection of real ales and some lovely wines. This is definitely NOT the place for children - although they are always welcomed as is everyone! Situated at the North end of the busy town's high street, this is an oasis of calm. Colin and Mike run a very tight ship here, immaculately kept and full of nostalgia, not many tourists venture into its subtle, intimate bar and small restaurant area. So highly regarded, and such an intimate dining area- you will need to book weeks in advance to take advantage of their fabulous Sunday carvery lunch - all locally sources and freshly cooked. The atmosphere is like a gentleman's club - subtle and serene, understated friendly service. One of our all-time favourite places - but check the opening-times in advance!

I went in to the restaurant with mu family and tried to book a table. The owner looked at me, my wife and kids and said that they were completely booked for the next 2 weeks. He didn't even look at his bookings - it was that blatant. So I went home and called to book a table and was given one the following weekend, no problem. He can't hear skin tone on the phone and suddenly there was plenty of space. They are racist. If you don't approve of racist door policies please take your business elsewhere.

I've eaten at the Prince Albert twice now for Sunday lunch and both times we had a fab family meal.Food is high quality, pipping hot and devious. Service excellent.Book well in advance though to get a table as the restaurant/pub is very small.Would highly recommend to locals and visitors.

We had a wonderful Sunday Roast here. They were able to get us in without a reservation and were so nice and friendly despite being super busy. The inn oozes charm and the food was delicious. We got a beef roast and lamb roast and sticky toffee pudding (gf) for dessert. A quick stroll down to the beach for a lovely view. We feel lucky to have found this gem!

Been here twice and both times the coffee gave me the runs I’m not sure if their not storing the milk properly or what ! never had an issue at any other shop except this one and when I went back and told them about what happened they refused to take any accountability was very laid back about it and said it’s probably something else I had that morning😐despite this being the second time it’s happened?never again wouldn’t recommend

I was one of a party of 9. We were all impressed with the quality and quantity of our lunch. Great service and Hop Head beer. Will visit again. Thanks.
