Lovely pub, very busy, good ale. Visited twice, whilst on a break. Major busy as football was being shown. Had an amazing Sunday roast, one of the best I've ever had. Roast beef, as everything else was sold out, but that's to be expected as it was gone five. You can't tip by card as the don't accept tips by card, only cash. Staff were bright, fun and engaging. Nice location to eat and pet friendly shame that local traffic constantly runs passed . The food it self wasn’t bad although £10 for just an extra burger is expensive for a pub and chips were to few. The beer choice was bland only to lagers on tap the worst point was this one particular member of bar staff that we found very rude and disrespectful my opinion she’s in the wrong job, customer happiness is definitely not her skill. We won’t be going back . £68 two Adult meals 3 kids meals and drinks , reasonably priced .

Six of us pitched up for a pub lunch and we were pleased with the food, generous portion sizes and friendly service. I noted it suddenly became busy and staff appeared from I don’t know where to keep both locals and us visitors happy. I had the white bait ….delicious. Half of my huge prawn sandwich was wrapped up in a container for me to take home. Wherever I went in Deal, everyone was really lovely. Will recommend!

Fairly average pub grub and slightly overpriced for what it is - not a huge difference between lunch and dinner menus. Lunch - had some sandwiches which were on the basic side (grated cheese for a cheese ploughman’s sandwich etc). Dinner was a hot dog which was nice but basic for £14. Burgers standard. Side dishes quite good. Staff nice and friendly. This summer there was weekend entertainment in the square outside which was great.

The pub is very nice, the bar staff brilliant and friendly, but someone isnt doing a great job. On Monday we enjoyed a couple of very nice drinks outside before moving inside to the table we had reserved for dinner at 1800. We were prob 5 mins early but were seated instantly and we asked if could order our food. We were told they couldn't take orders and put them through to the kitchen until 1800. We were happy to wait five minutes, but when we went to order again we were advised there was a 45minute wait for food! No explanation was offered so we left. Most of the other tables were reserved for 1900-200hrs.

Been here many times. Great open square that overlooks the sea. It is shared with another pub/restaurant which gives two choices of menu. The kitchen works very hard to get good food out as fast as they can. Today was very busy and they still served us within 40 mins - the staff told me before they took the order, so no dramas! Had a long beer watching the world go by whilst waiting. Also gazed at all the other food choices as each table was served - they all look great. Ours was the standard seaside fare of fish and chips. Fat and juicy fish, triple cooked chunky chips and loads of oetis pois; and the King's Head burger - a great portion fries, good quality bap and very large burger (other half struggled 🤣). Good service by the team. We will return.

Food is classic English pub fayre, and despite being mega busy, it always comes out fresh and hot. We have discovered our happy place!! What a find! I had never been to Kent before. We had an beautiful week staying in this lovely establishment. The weather was glorious sun shining, warm with a lovely breeze from the sea...not windy. Deal/Kent is known to have the best weather in England that's why we drove 6 hours to get there as we needed some sun! There was not a drop of rain. Wow what an amazing place to stay. It is so pretty. The flowers that cascade over and around the buildings are beautiful and well tended to. The smell of them wafting into your room from the window boxes is devine. The view from our bedroom was breathtaking you can almost touch the sea!!! We arrived on a Sunday and infront of the buildings is a gorgeous court yard area. There was singers, a bbq it was so full of happy people enjoying the weather, location,( right next to the beach) and friendly atmosphere. At nights its all twinkling with gorgeous lights just stunning. The people are so friendly in Deal I have never been anywhere else like it! Met lots of lovely people within a few hours of arriving! The staff are amazing! Sharon, justin, james, vicky, shirley and graham (the landlord) yo name only a few! They all remembered our names which was lovely. There are plenty of staff on duty so excellent service ( never any dirty tables inside or outsude) and all of them smiling. It's has a good feeling and all the staff have a good repore with the owners Graham and Shirley and James and are respected by their customers...we heard lots of praise this week!!!They were so so welcoming nothing was too much trouble. You were honestly made to feel part of the family. Graham takes great pride in his pub and rightly so! 40 years ago when he bought it it was a mess. He has now turned it into the hub of Deal. It's like it has been contagious as the rest of the town, which had been on the decline, is now a hive of busy shops and restaurants and I get the feeling it started with inspiration from the Kings Head! People come from all over Kent for an evening out at the Kings head. If you are lucky to be there on Sundays book your outside table they are soon snapped up but you always find someone offering to share as were we The food was amazing! Great menu, homemade food and yummy. The Breakfast was delicious proper bacon and thick artisan bread/toast. The inside of the pub has kept its rustic charm which we felt added to the attraction. The price was brilliant. We honestly did not expect this quality. The room was spacious and spotless. Rustic charm in keeping with the age of the building. Beautiful new en suite shower room spotless and cleaned everyday by our maid Vicky who is lovely. She cleaned the room everyday and replaced fresh fluffy white towels each day. We always strip our beds before we leave and the pillows, quilt and matress were spotless not even a tiny mark or stain....all the staff take pride in their work that is obvious. We certainly enjoyed our holiday in Kent. Beautiful places to visit. The beaches around Broadstairs are wonderful and all within 30 mins from Deal. We didnt have enough time to visit everywhere so will be back 😊 Thank you Graham and team for a wonderful stay x We will be returning that's for sure and will be bringing friends with us next time. It's worth the 6 hour journey ! 🌴☺️🌸🌸🌸🌸 Angela and Pete xx

Decent cozy pub with good food (curry, fish'n'chips). As many pubs in the area have kitchens closed on Mondays, this was our saving grace. The fact that among the many pictures on the wall there is a broadly grinning Nigel Farage visiting there, who I consider to be one of the greatest and most disastrous idiots in recent British history, is a small downer.

We discovered this little gem in Deal to celebrate our anniversary. The outside of the pub is beautiful with colourful flowers and it’s really inviting. We were greeted by a lovely young guy who helped us to check in and even offered to take our bags for us as we would be staying in room 7 at the top of the hotel. We had a lovely spacious room with en suite. It has a spectacular view of the pier. I’ve only given it a 4 (please bear in mind we loved our room these are just tips to make the room a 5). One of the lamps in our room wasn’t working, which we reported to one of the staff at the bar, but what would be so helpful would be a couple of USB sockets in the room. We forgot our chargers so weren’t able to charge our phones (obviously our fault entirely) but maybe something to think about for future guests. The breakfast was lovely, fresh and hot. All of the staff were amazing, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to somewhere where everyone was simply kind, friendly and helpful, they are a credit to you. Thank you for making our stay a really enjoyable one. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll definitely recommend you to anyone who asks.

Saturday lunch time on a bank holiday weekend so we were pleased to find somewhere to eat. Fish and chips, with fresh peas, was acceptable despite the overcooked chips. Service was a little chaotic with very young staff needing some management and organisation. It took a while for the table to be cleared of the previous occupants’ dishes and to get noticed at the bar. Our food arrived before the table was fully cleared, so full marks for speed of food delivery. Be warned that it has TV screens for sport, fine for those who like that, hell for everyone else! Fortunately they were silenced while we were there. Great location close to the sea and worth a visit at the right time.

Great pub with excellent pubfood, very nice staff, great location and cosy interior. Every two or three years we visit Deal from the Netherlands for a long weekend with friends and the King's Head is always one of our favorite pubs to visit. Especially if you like to watch a game of football or rugby, combined with a nice pint and some excellent food on the table. The only thing we're hoping for during our next trip is a wider variety of cask ales. Been here quite a few times for a drink but not to eat and seen the wonderful food coming out - so we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. It was busy with the Rugby on tv but the staff coped admirably (Ireland lost!) In fact the staff are ALWAYS friendly and helpful. So the food - we shared a humus with flat bread and buttered chicken - great portions and amazing taste (one of these starters would have been enough to share). For mains I had a incredibly tasty chilli con carne (probably the best I’ve ever had - and am getting old!) - my wife had fish pie - which she said was outstanding (loads of vegetables also). Bottle of Prosecco - all reasonably priced!

The display of flowers outside is magnificent but unfortunately the inside did not measure up! The food was mediocre, it was edible but nothing special. While we were there another business owner approached the bar to ask if their water was back on yet? Apparently he was not going to open his own eating establishment as he had no water supply, it was not to be resumed for another hour or so. The toilets were backed up as they could not be flushed and I am not sure how the staff washed their hands whilst preparing the food or after themselves using the lavatories. Needless to say we did not finish our meals.

Not many places open to eat in Deal on Sunday Evening, so had a hunt around and found this pub on the Coast Rd with good reviews . Popped in late afternoon to book a table, and it was very busy with mainly men drinking lager and watching Brighton vs Man U, so it really is more of a pub with food rather than the other way around. Anyway when we arrived later, a table for two had been reserved, and there was a mix of people just drinking and some eating. Menu was quite varied and I had beef bourguignon, with mash and broccoli. It was not quite as flavoursome/red winey as a true French version, but was still very good with plenty of very tender beef. My companion had Fish Pie, and quite a substantial offering and also very tasty. Both dishes seemed to be home made, and not the usual reheated stuff brought in from a mass caterer ( portions much bigger for a start). Good pint of Masterbrew as well , what not to like ! Only one slightly annoying point was that although the match had finished, all three screens in a relatively small pub were left on with some obscure golf tournament. So I had to listen all the time to some American commentator from the TV just behind me. Looking around I could see that nobody at all in the pub was watching it, so would have been better to just switch it off.

Especially during lockdown because of a large out door area with great social distancing and good menu

We spent one evening at the King’s Head. The location is perfect: right on Deal’s sleepy but expansive beach front and sharing a lovely front garden with it’s sister pub the Port Arms. The exterior is adorned with attractive hanging baskets and charming old pub...

Well I arrived at the Kings Head with a lot of vacant and obviously untrained staff walking around. After a hand wave I got the attention for some service and almost a £5 pint after a 20 minutes wait, would of been longer otherwise…. Then...

Superb overnight stay in the Kings Head. Met by very helpful staff, as we checked in early. Shown up to our very pretty, spotlessly clean room (No.5), complete with sash windows, with flower boxes, overlooking the sea. Couldnt fault it. Cant wait to return!

The starters are a little under whelming , very little fresh food you get the impression quite a bit comes out of a freezer. The mains were much the same. Pie, steak, chicken, fish pie the usual pub food menu. I had the pie it...

A great location for a beer in the sunshine. Speedy table service. A very popular pub due its proximity to the seafront. Didn’t eat just stayed for beers.

I was one of a party of 9. We were all impressed with the quality and quantity of our lunch. Great service and Hop Head beer. Will visit again. Thanks.

Delicious coffee and vegan sausage roll and such a lovely and friendly manager, Mercy, who is obviously very passionate about what she does. Highly recommended!

A fabulous overnight stop in our campervan. We had a very warm welcome from Dylan who looked after us very well. The bar & restaurant was very busy however Dylan’s professionalism as a server made his job appear easy! Our food was served in a timely manner, piping hot and so delicious! The pastry on the vegetable tart was so tasty with added herbs. The gammon steak burger with an egg was very moreish. Now to the sticky toffee pudding with piping hot custard, a decent size portion, thank goodness we shared! Believe me when I say this is a lovely pub with scrumptious food, & fabulous service from Dylan

Horrible food. Tinned vegetables and poor quality meat. Hard overcooked roast potatoes. Horrible desert. Best eat at home or definitely somewhere else. Lots of flies everywhere on the ceiling also.

I had the lamb rump which was tough as old boots not given a steak knife had too ask for 1 even then couldn’t really eat the meat it was such poor quality and fatty. The gravy watery the bubble and squeak burnt and cold carrots and “buttered “ cabbage cold boiled cabbage avoid so so disappointing the whole meal was and definitely overpriced
