If one day you plan to visit the cliffs of Dover in England "very recommendable" I am sure that after the long walk that is required, you will get hungry... You ask to be taken here and it is a comfortable place to eat, the food is very delicious as is the beer. The service was a little slow but you're on vacation, what does it matter? The place is themed doc with the area you visit. I would return without any problem.

Walking into the southeast of England, there is always a lot of old and old feeling coming to you; Like a mess, things with a long timeline suddenly appear in front of you; Trying to figure out the context, I don’t know where to start; Just enjoy it for a short while Don’t try so hard to piece together the whole thing before you watch it… Gorse, red and white roses… knights and soldiers Sea, land and air marine civilization industrial traces Maybe just for a meal of fish and chips at the beach, you inadvertently entered an interesting time collecting kaleidoscope; An unexpected gain, an unexpected surprise?

Was very disappointed with our meal told the waitress that our burger bun didn’t taste right and she said it was fresh that day which was utter rubbish as our son is a chef and he said it must of been going off. We will never be going back there again ☹️ If you want a decent meal go to the chance inn in Guston it is blinding 😊

The food is horrendous. Definitely a microwave technician in the kitchen not a chef! The spaghetti bolognese was like it was out of a can. The young staff were very nice but the place is obviously poorly managed; bad food and grubby. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Loved this place, I had the fish and chips and it was by far the best fish and chips I've had!!! The décor is very quaint and the staff are super friendly. The price of the food and drinks are very good compared to portion size and quality of the meal. I will definitely visit here again!!!

Absolutely surprised, expected something mediocre nothing special, but found that the quality of food was to say the least fantastic. Fish and chips the best I've ever had.

Had the veggie lasagna, was not the best but it was good food! Loved the atmosphere and very kind staff. If you sit outside in the garden beware of the gulls

This was a great place with a great atmosphere near the water. The service was outstanding—especially helpful was Sharla, who was very patient with patrons trying to decide what to drink and eat. The food was superb.

Asked to sit outside at 7:45pm on a Saturday night, was told they’re ’fully booked’ despite ONE person sitting outside. Complete lie by people that clearly couldn’t be bothered to do their job. Not the first time this place has been a let down, won’t be returning (went for nachos previously and was given 3x pots of salsa as they’d run out of everything else - and didn’t even say anything). Save your money and go elsewhere.

Lovely meal tonight at Cullins Yard. We are local anyway & have used Cullins many times over the years but under new ownership I can still firmly recommend. I am gluten intolerant & the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable particularlythe supervisor/manager. Good choice on the menu for gluten free. Really nice wine & the kids menu was great value for money!

Great restaurant and bar. We visited at lunchtime with our new puppy, hoping to get him used to restaurant/pub visits. Staff all very friendly and welcomed us and our puppy. We had a coffee and sat outside to enjoy thr view and give the dog some green space. Would recommend to anyone with or without a dog. Great service good prices snd an amazing location.

What a fabulous lunch. I went with a couple of friends, the food was fantastic, I had the chicken salad which was really fresh & tasty. One of my friends had a burger, can’t remember which one, but he raved about it. The service was friendly, without being intrusive. The location is great for a lazy lunch

Lack of Communication. Poor Management. Quality of food has declined over the years. Won't be dining/drinking here ever again. When a complaint was raised about no food service being available, and other customers were served without a booking less than an hour after our arrival, this was the manager's response: I understand you were told we could only do food for our bookings today, which I recognise is frustrating. I know there were 3 members of staff at the bar who could have served you but it was nothing to do with staff availability out the front. One of our 6 burner gas ovens has broken and has a 2 month delivery time so our kitchen has literally half of its cooking ability removed. We simply have to stop taking food orders until there clear the back log. I hope this goes someway to explain why it looks like nothing was being done but in reality we are doing our best. Richard So you think it's acceptable for none of your staff members to disclose this information to a regular paying customer whilst we sit there watching other people served food after being told you could not. At the end of the day you don't want to take responsibility for what is a poorly ran business and your lack of customer service. As per my response, we will not be dining with you again. In future, maybe let customers know you are struggling, or have a member of staff keep customers posted as to when you decide you can start providing food again. A simple 20 second conversation from a member of your staff could have avoided all of this. A sign on entry point to the restaurant ect. It's clear to me that you're completely opposed to any criticism so any attempt to improve and/or complain about your services is futile.

The customer service is exemplary. The food was excellent and great value for money. The atmosphere and location are amazing and very unique. It is also dog friendly. We will definitely be back.

Super rest6. Great food, nice views, amazing decor, they just need to train the waitress' to be a little bit more professional. They are very flexible and allow you to change the sides for your meal without a problem. We went twice in one week.

We booked a last minute table of 11 for fathers day as our plans changed. They were very helpful and managed to fit us in! 15 mins before our booked time, our family members travelling from essex broke down. We arrived at the restaurant just half of the booking worried we wouldnt be able to get them there in time and fed within the window we had. All the staff made me and my kids feel at ease whilst i waited and were so kind in reassuring that we can still have the table and theyll do what they can do accomodate us. Food as always was spot on and delicious and all staff were lovely. Thank you for giving us a great meal on fathers day even with all the troubles we had! X

Always have a lovely time here so was very happy to be going today for lunch but sadly was very disappointed with it. The sharing nachos was rock hard due to this was uneaten when we mentioned this to the male staff member we just got “I’m sorry about that” no mention to remake them or refund them waste of £7.50, the kids meals was nice and good for the price as well as the scampi, the mussels was just okay but the side salad was very limp this could have been due to the dressing but still wasn’t enjoyable at all. Service was good by the young girls at the bar but the food service was not, the servicer didn’t check once if our food was okay or clear the used glass off the table for over 40 minutes, not what you would expect when it wasn’t as busy as other times I’ve been and service has been better.

Overall, it was alright for a quick lunch. The open sandwich was slightly dry, and the beer seemed warmer than desired. The staff, however, were friendly.

It's perfect to have some fish and chips before climbing whitecliff. If the sun is nice, be sure to sit in the yard, listen to the sound of seagulls, and eat the freshest fried cod in the sun. After eating, you can walk along the sea all the way to the white cliff and it will be so sour!

One of my favourite pubs in Dover. Good quality food, good drinks selection, even tapped German beer. A bit upmarket, but it's worth it.

Nice pub, with a good range of options, at reasonable prices. Service for us was fast, and the food came out quickly as well. Both the sausages and the moules were good, and the banoffee pie was enormous and great. Overall a good choice.

Amazing place. It probably is a place where where i want back and back. Really authentic atmosphere. I cannot to say - need to see it. It's like museum. A lot of history there. Owner takes over 20 years to collect all the things. Wood is absolutely perfect. I ate a fish what is best fish what I ate in UK in 15years. And lucky me, first time I tried mussels in UK, absolutely recommended.

We dined in last night. It's a nice place with lots of courious decorations and good service. Food was good overall. However, we ordered one cod & chips for two and at least a couple of cod bites hit me with a distinct ammonia taste, which means that the fish wasn't that fresh. It's a shame, because the batter was good and the chips were nice and crispy.

It’s so good to get to these traditional English pubs as a visitor to these parts. So much character. Food like most pubs is ok, service was good and surroundings are so traditional English pub. What through me was the selection of good beers including German ones.

The pub is warm and welcoming. I had a leg of lamb on mashed potatoes with red wine that was really good. I highly recommend it!

Do yourself a favor, order the lamb shank. The meat melts off the bone (didn’t need the steak knife). The sauce ties in well with the lamb and smashed potatoes. Pair it with a nice glass of red and your taste buds will be fully satisfied. Service and ambiance also 5 stars. Cullins Yard is a must try.

This was a lovely spot not too far from the city centre to escape the snow and have lunch. Lots of tasty beers on tap (inc alcohols free options), prices were okay and the portions were perfect. The food was incredibly tasty - I can’t recommend the cod enough and the lasagne was better than my mum makes (don’t tell her). The interior is also warm, large and inviting. More than anything, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, making this place feel even more like a real escape from the city. I would highly recommend for lunch in Dover!

Being gluten free it's sometimes awkward to eat out. First time I've been to cullins in years & ate a lovely 3 courses without issue! Will be back!

Fantastic food (wife had mussels, I had fish & chips, both really tasty). Their own beer (pigs ear) is really nice too. Reason for 4 stars? Understaffed. Can't fault the friendliness of most staff & their efficiency, but they were clearly rushed off their feet. Ultimate test, would I come back? Definitely. 4 stars but I'd still recommend to anyone

White horse doesn't serve food at 3 pm so we came here and glad we did. Happy hour cocktails and great deal on pies (steak preferred over chicken). With a dessert, 2 pies & 4 drinks came to £50. Huge portions. Great music selection played at just the right volume. Highly recommended

What an amazing find . Staff were super friendly and so helpful. The whole place is crammed full of interesting memorabilia - literally so much to look at , we were there for a few hours and kept noticing so many things on the walls , ceiling etc ! The food was absolutely delicious - large portions and well cooked and presented. We had various starters, mains and desserts all of which were mouthwatering. Staff were very attentive all through the evening, the cocktails were well priced and delicious. highly recommend a visit , thank you for a great evening

This was our first visit to Cullins Yard where we had lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lot to choose from the menus. There were Sunday Roasts, a Special menu and the regular menu which included various Vegan options. We were a bit disappointed with some items which we ordered. The chicken burger was hard to chew and the chips were luke warm. The deserts were perfect. The rooms are decorated with memorabilia but the bar area is rather dark and overwhelming with the decorations. We may try other menu options if we are in the area again.

We came here for my birthday, midweek lunch meal. My partner & son very much enjoyed their meals. I enjoyed mine too, it’s just I wish the chips were a little hotter and the beef patty was a little dry. Although I did not mention this I still enjoyed my meal and it wasn’t enough to complain on my behalf. We have been here a fair few times and always enjoyed our visits. Atmosphere was great & staff friendly & welcoming as always.

2022 update: We've been going here for years now. It's still my favourite restaurant in Dover. Doesn't have the biggest choice on the menu, but what you do get is always generous and delicious. If you haven't been to Cullin's before, you're in for a treat with the decor! Oh, and don't forget to try a pint of "Pig's Ear". It's brewed in the micro-brewery next door, by the owner of Cullin's, Jim! 2023: Update. The food is still great, the Vegan bean chilli has got even better! The caramel cheesecake tastes like Gypsy Tart, phenomenal. The owner, Jim has retired and they no longer do Pig's Ear, shame! Went info a steak on Monday with family and it was no where near as good as it was the previous week. The salad was heavy and wet (loads of it). The bread wasn't the usual heavenly product. I hope that with Richard taking over, standards don't start to slip. I've always considered Cullin's as one of the best restaurants in Dover. Let's hope it stays that way!

Went down for a birthday meal with friends arrived to be informed there was a private party we were the only people ordering food the disco stopped the art of conversation couldn't get to the bar and the language was fruity to say thee least we had our meal and left we have never left this early before very disappointed if informed before would have cancelled. This is the first time I would say we might look for somewhere else to go for our meal.we have been going to cullins for over 15years very disappointed

Lovely place to eat/drink by the harbour, very good view of the cliffs. I had a chicken, bacon and cheese panini which was tasty, I just prefer my bacon a bit more crispy. Staff were friendly.

Lovely staff, had 45mins to spare before our ferry , popped into here , they knocked up our food super quick so we could get on our way. Will defo be stopping here again when passing through Dover.

Cool little spot that opens late. Right by the port so you can grab a quick bite before heading out or when you come back. Slightly disappointed, the only in-house beer was out. Otherwise good selection of draft beer and full bar.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with family. A perfect place to eat and relax food is great and so is the service.

Brilliant service. They were busy but the Maitre 'd spotted us immediately and seated us. Food service was prompt, almost as though we were expected. I usually don't leave bad reviews because I have worked in the food industry and people have off days. Unfortunately there is no way anyone could have an off day as bad as this place. The food was ok. The place has a nice vibe to it but the service, the service was terrible!!! At one point we had to walk to the bar to order a beer because we were tired of waiting! Then we sat for an hour to get a dessert menu or any acknowledgment from our waitress. She walked by us 10+ times and never once checked on us. We eventually got up and went to the bar to cash out after waiting 75+ mins. The manager never acknowledged us or talked to us even though he passed many times. Just save you sanity and never go to Cullins Yard!

As always, an excellent dining experience. We booked in advance, which was just as well as the restaurant was full. Good menu, reasonably priced. My friends both had moules, which they proclaimed to be the best they'd had for a long time. The portion of scampi I had was very generous. Good attentive staff and all in all a most enjoyable evening.

Cullin's Yard was great. It was a lovely setting, the staff was great, and the food was wonderful. Highly recommended. It was a little hike from our hotel but very much worth it. We stayed at The Premier Hotel down the street and tried to eat at the Table Table restaurant that is attached to the hotel. They made is sit and wait for 45 minutes, then forgot us, then led us into a nearly empty dining room and we noticed that all of their daily specials had expired. It was so upsetting that we got up and left. Going to Cullin's was our best move of the day.

This has been a long-standing favourite. Quirkily eclectic decor, often wonderful staff. Moules were unavailable this time, but Lamb Shank and fish and chips were both competent. The vibe is cheery, if a bit “take it or leave it”. We spoke with the owner and offered praise for Amelia, who had realised a colleague had failed to take our order. She had worked really hard to ensure that the lengthy delay was smoothed. His response was a facetious “is she related?” …. and, in answer to my question, a push back: “no, we’re not understaffed …. there are too many customers who haven’t booked”. Curious attitude.

A very nice restaurant and very pleasant waiting staff, service was excellent, 1 more on the floor and it would be 5 star. The Lamb shank was excellent, to the point that my other half was still talking about it the next day. Totally worth a shot,I would recommend booking, looked very busy for a Monday night

Potential but failed to deliver much worth remembering - maybe was just the wrong day. Several staff appeared inexperienced and any usual smooth running of the place was not apparent. Food was much colder than it should have been by time cutlery and all food arrived. Repeated polite offers to help out were turned down!

Been here before a couple of times a few years ago and it was great! Free bread and olives as an appetizer....not any more (since COVID apparently.) We were always happy with our meals and the prices were up there, but not massively expensive. After my most recent visit I'd never go back! 2 breaded brie BITES not wedges to start, with a wilted side salad.....£7???!! Joking right?? The mushroom gratin was delicious but came out with cranberry sauce on the plate....why?? Not a single bit of french bread to mop up that delicious, creamy garlic sauce! Then the mains.....lamb shank was actually very nice, although not worth £20 with a bit of mashed potato and a floret of broccoli! The cod and chips...where do I start?? £18 for large....I expected a whale to come out, but it was a regular size like from a chip shop. The fish had an off smell and was slightly slimey...when I tasted it, the fish itself did not taste of fish! It had a peculiar taste, salty or similar to when you've used too much vinegar while cooking a poached egg...strange! The chips however were delicious!! The wilted side salad wasn't welcome but there was a good wedge of lemon! I did not eat the fish as I was worried something was off...I did not get charged. The waitresses were lovely and understanding! I provided constructive criticism, I did not kick off or cause a scene in the slightest....I just let them know that I wasn't happy and I explained why. I also said how lovely some of the food was. I understand rates have gone up and produce is more expensive to buy in....but those prices are crazy! If you're going to charge that, atleast give a bigger portion....maybe 3 brie bites instead of 2? No cod and chips is ever worth £18...the small was £11 and to charge an extra £7 for something that's not large is actually unfair! Such a shame about this place because it used to be so good! We were excited about going there but it was a bit of a flop! Thanks to the waiting staff for their understanding. Gutted really 😏
