The best restaurants in Great Missenden Chiltern South East

Cafe Toria was a welcome respite after a rather lengthy visit to the nearby Surgery. Limited choice but food is carefully prepared.

Lovely warm welcoming tap room with a good range of beers, an easy going atmosphere with lots of nice low level chat. Beers had a couple of lagers, mostly pales, and a stout and a sour.

Question “Does the baguette come with a salad garnish or crisps”? Answer “Yes”. Unsure why we paid extra for the salad that we were told was a garnish. Makes sense why the other baguette was just that, a baguette. Not even made to look pretty, just a roll 🤷🏻‍♀️ We didn’t have any cake 😊 But thanks for your reply 😂👏🏻

Absolutely amazing! Best pizza we’ve had in a long time. Popped in on the off chance of a table, and the lovely waitress went out of her way to accommodate us. Absolute bargain for the quality ingredients. We will definitely be back!

Beautifully cooked fish and super crispy chips, all freshly cooked, will definitely be revisiting. The menu looks good, plenty of choice.

We went to the restaurant spontaneously, the restaurant was quiet but bother us. The food was fabulous, so much that we took the rest home. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend and they do 20% off early bird deal between 5.30pm - 7.00pm in the week which is good.

Amazing food very nice staff five stars

There were 18 of us, we had booked beforehand. Food was served lukewarm, which meant cold chips all over. Serviettes were only handed out by request (something mumbled about sustainability?). We accepted the cold food, because we were hungry after our walk and warming up would have taken a long time. I would not recommend this pub for food, as they clearly have no idea how to cater for larger groups. Just a beer is fine (even de coffee was horrible according to one of the guests at my table..). All in all a very disappointing experience for all the money we paid.

Really cute pub, great culture and vibes and very welcoming of any and all. Live jazz on Sunday’s. Child free for those that don’t like that. The letdown was lack of gluten free options - both substitutes (eg GF buns or pizza bases) but also a seeming general lack of willingness of owners to invest and take time to set up a simple system for being accessible for those who can’t safely consume it. Cross contamination is always a risk and something people accept but it’s 2025 - an easy issue to solve and would turn a good pub into a great, accessible venue.

I love this Pub, it's wonderful for this lovely pub in a beautiful setting returning to former glory. So why the 3 stars only you ask? The pub sits on the route of one of my wife's, mine and our 2 dogs favourite walks. It's about 3/4 way round and a pint or 3 of Marlow brewery for me and some Fizz for the Mrs is very timely. Unfortunately 2- 3 times recently we have left without ordering and headed off and walked to the Moon in Cholesbury. The service at the C&R while polite is so poorly managed. Each time there has been so many people queuing for a drink in both bars but only 1 person serving both. I have to admit I don't like queuing very much, but as we had already waited 15 mins Saturday and didn't seem any closer we moved on. Someone else did breifly get behind the bar but washed glasses only. Such a shame!! Great Pub but I like to have a beer more than watching others enjoying one. The Moon was very busy Sunday afternoon but they had staff serving behind the bar - What a thought!!!

Very friendly and professional service. Nice menu with lovely gluten free cake! Suggest popping in even if you’re not visiting the museum.
