After seeing a recent Facebook notification that the Mangal was able to do gluten free fish and chips (as well as kebabs) the wife and I decided to give it a try as there’s a real struggle for decent fish and chips locally which are available as gluten free. We normally have to wait till we’re down the coast which is a shame. This is my first experience of the mangal and can safely say it won’t be my last, the staff were friendly and helpful explaining everyone to us, restaurant was exceptionally clean and from the look of the uncooked food in the fridge very well prepared and separated. Everything is made fresh for you when ordering gluten free and it tasted absolutely fantastic! The only downside is that I’m going to have to go on lots more runs to accommodate the extra visits the mangal is going to be receiving! Highly recommended

Lovely warm welcoming tap room with a good range of beers, an easy going atmosphere with lots of nice low level chat. Beers had a couple of lagers, mostly pales, and a stout and a sour.

the food is brilliant but but the workers are very rude and unprofessional we ordered 4 pizzas and they only gave us two but when we corrected her she refused and gaslighted us that we were in the wrong. we also encounted two of the workers when we smiled they directly looked at us with dirty looks on their face and whispered as a customer who has human rights I don’t accept rude behaviour of the workers as we are paying for there rude we were a group of girls just smiling wanting some pizzas.i wish I could name these specific two workers as the others are lovely and welcoming and these two girls don’t deserve to working in such a lovely place .

The cafe in the museum is not much cop, so when you’re done head up the high street to Matilda’s bistro. The waitress was charming and efficient. The food came fast. It was well cooked and good value. The choice is huge. We had two little ones who enjoyed chicken nuggets. Grown ups were spoiled for choice and had varied meals from Eggs Benedict through salmon and scampi to an extraordinary waffle (chosen by my American visitor) consisting of bacon, grapes and sliced banana covered in maple syrup. There are multiple Mediterranean meals too. Something for everyone. The place was packed so we were glad to have booked. Nothing at all to complain about. Highly recommended for families.

We regularly eat ‘Indian’ foods and we were all impressed with the range of dishes. The pickle tray with the popadoms was very generous. We particularly enjoyed the chicken biryani vegetable sauce and the butternut squash beef, but all of the food was delicious. Overall it was excellent value for money, we shall certainly visit again!

It's OK, the Nags. I have small children but I'm very comfortable with the idea that there should be at least one pub in Walthamstow that doesn't become a crèche on Sunday afternoons. But the landlady is a bit charmless about it all. The beer selection is a bit lacking, the pub is getting a bit shabby and run down. It feels like it could do with some new ideas.

Just enjoyed a delicious meal with St George’s day theme. Quality food served in the cosy dining room. Asparagus and sardine starters were beautifully cooked and very generous. Lamb shanks huge and beautifully cooked. Sadly no space for the desserts. Friendly young staff who looked after us well. This is also a regular stopover for walks as coffee and cakes are highly recommended.
