We were staying locally and just called in on the off chance needing to find somewhere to eat. It was banquet night. Brilliant service and food and unbelievable value, You made our night!

Every friendly staff nothing was two much trouble and has to be one of the nicest curry l have had in a long time, also thought it was good value too and would come on a regular basis if we lived closer.

Delivery was over an hour and bad communication.. however food was 10/10 and really nice. The restaurant made up for the wait with a bottle of wine and extra food, which was kind. Thank you!

The food was very very late over 1 hour and they kept telling me it will be 10 minutes over and over again however the food was really nice and the manager even came out with a bottle of red wine to apologise for it

Best Indian restaurant around food is always good

Never disappointed, easily the best Indian for miles .

First ever visit on a very quiet Sunday night. So can't really comment on ambience. That said, the owner and his son (commercial pilot,just helping out for the evening) were very nice,polite and good to chat with. A short wait led to starters of excellent fresh crispy onion bhaji and a fresh paneer dish. A wonderful Bangladeshi chicken curry and veggie dhansak followed, alongside fluffy naan and perfect boiled rice. Happy to come again and happy to recommend

We visited on a saturday night. Excellent curries including distinctive bangladeshi specialities. Everything was obviously freshly made and very tasty. Recommended.

Seen details in local press, so had to give it a try! Glad I did. Definitely wasn't disappointed. Staff attentive, food great and reasonably priced.

Really enjoyed my first visit to New Akash restaurant on Great Missenden high street. Extensive menu covering a wide range of chicken and lamb dishes. The chicken balti was the best I have tasted and spiced perfectly for me. I am so glad I chose the special fried rice as it was really tasty. And I just had to try the Ferrero Roche chocolate dessert. My son enjoyed his chicken curry too but my husband thought his lamb was a little tough. We all enjoyed our starters and poppadoms. The atmosphere was great and the staff too.

Took advantage of their excellent Tuesday set price buffet evening. First time visitors and we weren’t disappointed. Service was excellent and the choice on the menu was good with many options to meet the requirements of all guests. All 3 in my party had the starter, a main course, a side and either rice or naan as part of the offer and I think it’s true that we all struggled to clear our plates, so value for money was excellent. We are definitely going to go again and would thoroughly recommend the New Akash.

This was the worst Indian meal ever. I was with 4 friends and my onion bhaji starter was soggy and had a powdery taste. I ordered tandoori chicken with a vegetable curry. There were 2 pieces of chicken on a bed of sizzling onions. The chicken resembled 2 sparrows side by side and lacked any taste or substance. The so-called vegetable curry had the appearance and taste of mixed frozen vegetables in a plain gravy. Absolutely no curry taste at all. We all had very disappointing and poor quality meals at some expense (just shy of £190) The only good bit was the Cobra beer. We should have complained after the starters and cancelled the main meals. Never again. By the way I rarely give such bad reviews but this one deserves it.

This is a very cosy restaurant with a varied menu and exceptionally friendly staff. I ordered the Ayer fish bhuna and while I only rarely order fish (and fish curries more rarely still), I can honestly say it was one of the best dishes I’ve tried in a while. I’ll have to come back for another!

Generally very nice as usual apart from the naan bread which smelt and tasted of coal fire smoke, as if it were cooked over anthracite!

It was in time but the lead time was pretty long for a standard Wednesday. Food was excellent.

Really liked the food, will definitely order again. Also grateful for the driver who delivered our order as I know the house can be tricky to find.

Rude owner, when I said one of the dish had less salt & wasn’t spicy even though we explicitly request for it. He bought a plate of green chillies. Food was bad overall, I would avoid. Can’t take a honest feedback and he should listen more than talk. Also he said he can’t cater from business stand point to our Indian tongues, for someone who has been outside of India for 7 years.

Excellent food but delivered an hour late.

Food average . The restaurant is scruffy round the edges . Food trolley needs a good scrub and refurb along with the trays . This restaurants food is ok but the restaurant needs an overhaul . It’s a shame as could be great . Staff not particularly welcoming rushing you through your meal . Needs more thought

Probably the worst matar paneer I have ever had, too creamy, was just peas in cheesy sauce that tasted of nothing.

Closest curry house but takes the longest to deliver. Food is bland. On the plus, it's not overly salty Also, plain chicken vindaloo instead of the tikka chicken vindaloo I ordered. Called to ask about my delivery when the app said it's been delivered, but told that the driver left ages ago. Must have taken a scenic route. At least I've tried it now.

Missing items- annoying to not get the poppadum's we paid for. The lamb madras was the strangest I've had- a bbq flavour tang with smoky taste almost like liquid smoke had been added. Tiny scraps of lamb also. Delivery instructions with the order not read, so had to stand in the road.

Clean, friendly welcome. Food was OK- no real complaint but have had better more locally in all honesty.

We've had 2 takeaways and 2 banquets from this great restaurant. As mentioned in a previous review, the great value Tuesday banquet lets you order from the main menu, not just a small selection from it so you can be adventurous, choosing something out of your comfort zone. The food is consistently delicious, the staff are lovely and attentive and friendly, without constantly hovering and interrupting your conversation (which I hate!). They also have a really well stocked bar with Campari and Sherry!!! We love you, New Akash, we'll be back!!!

Great delivery last night - they delivered locally sooner than stated and were patient when trying to find our house. Good price for amount of food ordered and we particularly enjoyed the Kind Prawn Nicoli!

We came here around 3 years ago for the banquet night and thought the food was really good. We don’t live too local but came back to the village and booked to come again before watching some live music at The George and I’m pleased to say the food is even better than I remembered! I can highly recommend the Murchi, it doesn’t have to be beef I asked for king prawns. Great service and so friendly!

Food was very bland and tasteless, sag panneer and mushroom bahji were like slop, very dissapointing

Waited 45 mins (when food was due to be delivered in 15 mins!) to call and tell me they don’t normally deliver to my area, emphatically said it was too far and did I want to cancel, I said no because it was quite late to order another meal, then had to wait almost an hour for the delivery. When it came the main meal wasn’t even in there and the rest of the food was very bland, special rice? Adding an egg and peas doesn’t make it special. Portion sizes not great. Wouldn’t order again even if they DID deliver (and 2.6 miles?!! Not exactly far!).

We’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in the local area & I think this might just be our new favourite. We got a takeaway from here once & enjoyed it but this was the first time we’d eaten in. Everything we ate was delicious, the portions were generous & the staff were attentive & friendly. We will definitely be going back again soon!

Very fresh and well spiced Indian meal for two ordered and enjoyed. Tuesday night a Banquet offer is available so we introduced ourselves to New Akash by ordering from it. The full menu is available unlike some restaurants so great value. Recommend the sizzling spring lamb dish I had, subtly spiced and tender as. Sag Aloo not overcooked, Naan soft and fresh from the tandoor.. just opening from lockdown distance created , masked staff, everything clean and cared for. We will be back.

The takeaway service is excellent, had a lovely chat with the friendly waiters as they brought my order out. They were kind enough to include a free beer with the order which went down a treat with my meal. The food is cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. We were expected, the meal was well packaged and and still hot and freshly cooked when we got home. The restaurant was rearranged so that there were plenty of seats socially distanced.

Possibly the worst takeaway curry I have ever had. The passanda was tasteless and the lamb tough. In another dish the onions were crunchy and they added no flavour. Really disappointed.

It really pains me to write this review and I just hope it’s taken as feedback rather than criticism. The staff in this village curry house are lovely however the food really is below average. No matter what curry you order they all taste the same. The chicken tikka masala was watery, and tasteless. The chicken itself was dry. The Popadoms were over cooked and a strange dark colour. Unfortunately this wasn’t a one off, it’s been the same every-time we have tried it. I know they can do better and the food lacks passion. It’s a great shame. I hope they can pick their standards up because they are losing out to other curry places nearby. Please work on getting your flavours into the food, this would make it 10times better!

The butter chicken was very bland..... not like any butter chicken I have tasted before. There was no flavour. I would not order this dish again.

Love going to the New Akash, simply because the food and service is great. You may be lucky and meet the kind owner Foysol, if not then don't worry as all his staff are always very cheerful and friendly. The food is always fresh and full of wonderful flavours, so much so that I'd be happy to eat here any day of the week.

So nice to finely have a delicious meal thru a delivery service. We’ve had horrible experiences during lockdown and had almost given up on ordering a takeaway. Food from New Akash was hot, fresh, and delicious. Will definitely order again.

Lovely cosy atmosphere, all staff friendly and helpful and adhering to all current safety standards. (Masks, visors, gloves ect) Was shocked it wasn't busier on a Saturday night as the food is excellent. Food tastes fresh and portion sizes are good value for money. We also always order take aways from this restaurant.

6 of us dined here tonight 25 /07/20. Had a really lovely meal, staff were very attentive. Food was great and large portions, even had to bring some home ! Very good selection of dishes. Thank you
