We came for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. We will definitely be back. Great food and service, and a beautiful location

Lovely location - staff friendly but I would say the food could have been better - the Yorkshire puddings were dry and tasteless - hardly any gravy - I prefer a little jug to pour myself - the green beans had not seen any hot water - I don’t like them overcooked but they were almost raw - one half carrot - red cabbage lovely - to say that you are allowed a time for your meal we had to wait longer than I would like for the food - therefore on the whole I thought it too expensive for what it was.

I love this pub! So rare to find a lovely, friendly pub serving reasonably priced, high-quality food with so many great options for those of us who care about our health. Even the kids menu is excellent with everything made from scratch. A huge thank you to all the team at the Nag’s Head!

Amazing experience at this pub! The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was lovely, especially sitting in the tipi with the log fire—it added such a cosy touch. The roast was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back!

It was our second visit. Our first visit the food was ok but expensive, lamb was tasteless and the wine we wanted with dinner came after we finished eating. We decided to try again tonight and again felt the food was overpriced for what it was and felt the service was terrible. We were left unattended for long periods having to try and catch staff rather than being asked, our dessert order was wrong, our waiter spent half an hour serving friends without checking on us..it's a nice place to go for a drink but we won't come for a meal again.

We sat in the garden under the wisteria for shade. We all enjoyed our roast lunches which were reasonably priced and were pleased to have table service outside.

We went for a Sunday lunch. Menu said lamb leg, ended up with a tastless lamb shoulder. Beans were well under cooked. My wife's meal was beef and was good although again the beans were very under. Service is great with very friendly staff. A bit more knowledge about the Nespresso pods available would be good. Overall it has been 5 yeara since we were there last and probablt another 5 till we go again

Visited here for the first time with my family today. Lovely location and had heard good reviews. Upon entering immediately greeted and shown to our pre -booked table. I’ll start with the food - we all had a roast, 2 beef, 1 lamb and 1 vegan. I have to say it was delicious. All of us really enjoyed the meal. Although for the price I would suggest perhaps a little more meat, the beef dishes definitely had a fair bit more than the lamb! Lovely crispy roast potatoes, delicious veg and very tender meat. The service was great from a few of the wait staff - the two gentleman who first served our table and a young lady who very kindly got us some more gravy (twice!) However the waitress who brought the meals to our table was very abrupt and all the plates went down on the table with a thud! No pleasantries and very much felt like we were putting her out. When we asked for the vegan gravy we were told there wasn’t any. It was only when we questioned it that we were brought some. Perhaps this waitress was having a bad day, but it did put a bit of a damper on a family meal, and this is not cheap pub grub. There’s one thing being busy and apologising for wait times etc, but rudeness at the table does not make you want to return. Shame really as so many positives.

Really enjoyed our food and the setting in the marquee but several serving staff thought it was ok to ignore us. Doesn’t make you feel welcome or valued. Probably won’t come again, there are plenty of other places to eat, Andrew

My friend and I had lunch at the Nags Head yesterday and are returning customers. We found a lovely table beneath the wisteria area in the spacious garden. As it was so hot we eschewed the main courses and decided to share some of the small plates. We ordered the tomato salad, the croquettes and the bruschetta. The single piece of bruschetta was fine; but the salad was in a ramekin sized bowl and there were only 3 croquettes ( which were tasty nonetheless.) Still hungry, we decided to order the cheeseboard, but that consisted of just one piece of bread ( halved ) and only 3 cheeses; plus pickle and some grapes (?). So we left still hungry and kind of wishing we'd had the fish and chips! The young lad who delivered the food was great but was busy serving behind the bar as well. We received no attention from the waitresses and no offers to bring us more drinks.

Husband and i went there yesterday to celebrate my birthday and oh my.... Ambience was lovely, cozy and relaxed, service was excellent however our foods specially mine was mediocre. I had grilled beef burger with chorizo and it was very very very dry, i was expecting that'll be a juicy burger, like when you give it a big bite the juiceness will just dripping on the plate , unfortunately that didnt happen, however my husband enjoyed his catch of day, which we were puzzled as the waitress said, its trout fish but it came out salmon , good thing it's wild salmon😊. That was delish 🤗We, also ordered a bottle of Malbec red wine from Argentina which helps to complimenting our foods. All in all, Impeccable service ,but food weren't so good. Oh, forgot to mention our soup of the day, it was carrots with grilled peppers. Its just okay.

Food generally good, main courses not as good as starters and desserts but ok. The chef still won't offer apple sauce with the pork - really don't understand why not! Service very mixed, mostly helpful and friendly but staff were often talking yo each other and not looking at the tables to see if anyone needed attention. There didn't seem to be much management going on! However, it's a nice place to go with a very pleasant atmosphere.

Love the Nags Head been a couple of times but recently surprised our children (6 between us) that we had got married the day before . Everyone at the Nags Head helped in creating the surprise and it was perfect. The food is fantastic, all staff are welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to make our special occasion extra special. Can’t recommend highly enough. Did I say the food is excellent 😋😂

We had an excellent lunch here. Carefully thought out menu kept Mum, Dad and 14 year old daughter happy. Enjoyed mussels; venison pie and burger. Just a shame we couldn't manage a dessert. And staff friendly and attentive.
