Popped in for a quick pint after a good day out with a couple of friends, garden right next to a stream, water wildlife greenery pint and friends. What could be better.

The pub is spacious and has a lovely outdoor just by the river. It also has a children's outdoor play area making it ideal for family or as wonderful pitstop on a chess valley walk

Friendly old style pub situated on the edge of Chesham by the water complete with pool table and dart board. Note this pub doesn't serve food at the moment.

One of the best landlady's in town. Friendly regulars and you can bring your own food or order takeaway to be delivery in as the kitchen is closed. Great pub.

Great local pub serving bar snacks and nice doombar beer. No food served but actively request customers bring their own, or get fish and chips from Hings up the road. Play area for children and on the bank of the chess so very relaxing watching ducks etc go past. Recently added covered area in the garden with lights. Good for outdoor gatherings as it's sheltered from the wind.

Excellent, old fashioned pub, great service, nice clean largers and ales, you know instantly they clean the pipes out regularly, great play area for the kid's, out door seating, backes on to the river with duckes etc, all good, highly recommend.

We started the Chess Valley Walk in Chesham with a break at The Pheasant to quench our thirst. ;-) The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The pub doesn't serve any food but you can bring your own snacks or even get something delivered to the pub. Also at certain times there is a food truck in the parking lot. The pub has a sweet little garden where you can sit and watch the Chess river and its wildlife.

Beautiful leafy little garden backing onto the river Chess, with nice interesting kids play area. Decent range of drinks and we were welcome to bring or order-in our own food.

New to the area so popped in to have a quick drink and introduce ourselves as would be our future local pub. Had a warm welcome and landlady welcomed us to the area. Garden is great for kids which is very rare these days and also enough space for adults who don't have or don't bring children to not feel overwhelmed by children making noise etc. Locals were very friendly. Love that you are welcomed to bring your own food also. Great little find!

Edit: So glad you have CCTV, feel free to review it and see the two (yep, 2 in a car park for 15 at least) other cars in the car park when we parked and the speed (sub 30s) in which you made it outside to berate me for parking in 'your carpark'. How very dare I! No we won't be moving there, in a large part due to the horrible welcome we got, so you don't need to worry about our future custom. Or that of many more non-locals if the other reviews on here are anything to go by. Horrible aggressive attitude. Glad but surprised you read these reviews: but it's your business that will suffer if you don't take them on board. If you don't like policing the car park why not do as many other pubs do and put a paystation in there, with refund token for pub customers. Or chill out when it's empty. Or perhaps you prefer to stand by the door waiting to scare off young families. People can judge for themselves whether 'good' is a suitable paraphrase for 'ok fine'. I can't comment on the garden sadly, since we didn't get past the carpark, but I'm sure it's a lovely and quiet place to sit by the river. Quieter and quieter as the years go by. Original review: Horrible, aggressive landlady. We stopped here yesterday with our one-year old, while looking at houses nearby. Got her out of the car and just went to check where the house we were looking at next door was before having a drink and some food by the river. Anyway, we get out of the car and literally 15 seconds later, landlady comes steaming out of the pub. " Hello, Can I help you?" "Um, no I don't think so" "Can I HELP you" (getting redder) "Er" "You're in my car park" "Well, yes... we are ... never mind, we were just off" "Good" Thankfully had the presence of mind not to stay. Be aware: strangers are not welcome here! Shame because it looks to have a nice garden, but if you get leered at by staff before you've even gone in it's not worth it! Horrible.
