Lovely traditional pub serving a good selection of cask ales. Very friendly staff, especially Helen, who served us up a fantastic Sunday roast. As it's my local now, I can comfortably recommend this particular pub to anyone who happens to be in the area and to try out the food as it's the best I've tried in and around Canterbury. Edit...12/07/22. Closed permanently. Oh shit!
Amazing authentic Thai food! Good flavours and portions. Very tasty Thai ice milk tea, I can easily binge 2 glasses! It's Thai tea done right, best Thai restaurant in Kent! Highly recommended Pad Kee Mao - very spicy, perfect for spicy lovers!
The Pig went above and beyond to make my 30th birthday here so special. Our room was upgraded, champagne and homemade cookies left in our room and most of all the staff were so lovely and friendly, each of them remembering our names and always wising me a happy birthday. We were totally blown away by our stay and loved every second. We can’t wait to book again and would love to stay longer as it’s such a beautiful setting. Thank you the PIG Hotel Bridge and your wonderful staff 💕
We found Posillipo on TikTok and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend if you are in Canterbury for dinner. We had our 5 month old with us and they were very accommodating. There’s enough space for a pram if you have one. Great all round! Xx
We all had such a lovely visit to the WILD GOOSE today.
The food was tasty and our servers attentive.
It was a busy Saturday but still delivered our food timely.
It was busy in the shed and quite atmospheric.
My first visit but will most certainly be back.
Thank you!
Excellent evening at this Indian Restaurant. Mo was so professional, efficient and attentive. The food was outstanding, my start salmon tikka was so plentiful and tasty and also my boiled rice was so light and fluffy. You get good sized portions we had to take some home with us. I like the idea of bringing your own drink that really works to. Overall would definitely recommend.
Booked in advance, as advised, for 2 vegan cream tea's. Turned up and were seated. Our tea arrived and 15 minutes later, when our tea was cold, our cream teas were served.
Firstly the tower contraption they are delivered on is downright ridiculous, it's so tall it's face height so everyone is sitting with this thing right in front of them.
One of our party is allergic to strawberries, so asked if they had an alternative, they said after checking that all their other jam contains gelatin? It wasn't a huge deal so I dashed to Marks and Spencers food hall and bought some (none of their jam contained gelatin)
The scones are huge, more like rock cakes, and as soon as I cut into mine it disintegrated into crumbs and small pieces. The first vegan scone was horrible, hard and dense and was out aside . The second was heavy, claggy and undercooked. The third and fourth were edible.
I've had a similar experience there before, as have many of the reviewers on Trip Advisor, clearly this establishment has zero respect for customers as the continue to turn out the same inconsistent, crumbly, huge scones...
Mine came with butter, jam and cream.
The vegan cream teas that were ordered in advance came with jam and vegan 'butter', or marge and no cream.
Yes you read that correctly, a pre-ordered vegan cream tea served without any cream.
At ÂŁ15.95 it's not the cheapest cream tea, and the worst I have encountered since I last visited 10 years, I was hoping they would have improved. Vegan cream tea was charged at the same price despite it lacking any cream.
The manager was fairly unimpressed when I complained, but he gave us a 50% discount which was a gesture, however it didn't make up for my family members who had been looking forward to their vegan cream teas since the day before when we'd ordered them.
If you're more impressed by quantity than quality then go ahead, otherwise give it a wide berth especially if you're vegan.
A beautifully cooked well presented meal. Thoroughly enjoyable meal completely enhanced by the attentive polite service provided by our waiter “Alfie”.
A really good relaxed experienced just right for Sunday lunch.
Incredible service, we were given great recommendations from our server Vats as we didn’t know what shisha’s to order, he was very friendly and charismatic, would definitely come here again.
The Riverside, Kingsmead Rd, Kent CT1 1BN, United Kingdom, England
Fantastic food and fantastic staff. A little expensive but it's worth the price. For two people expect to pay around ÂŁ100. We went for the meat platter for two and it was more than enough food. Great quality ingredients and very well cooked. Lots of BBQ'd meats so if you're not into that this may not be the place for you.
The wings were amazing! We always get extra.
The staff are very attentive and always at hand.
No student discount offered.
We loved everything, but don't want dogs in restaurants. We would definitely come back otherwise. The food was really good, and the service.
Why do so many places do this?
