Great food and very attentive, polite service. We really did enjoy our meal. They have no alcohol licence (which we didn't realise) but you can BYOB and they'll charge you corkage. Atmosphere fairly standard perhaps. Decor ok. They could improve the atmosphere with lighting. The same song was playing on a loop, which became quite funny once we'd spotted it.

My daughter and I ate here last night. I haven’t been for years and it’s was hands down one of the best Indians I have had in a long time. Excellent tender fall apart in your mouth lamb and chicken was gorgeous too. Husband just had our leftovers and was equally impressed. Brilliant service too. Thank you

Our favourite Indian in the area. Excellent flavours, and each dish is different. We find that dishes can vary in style depending which cook is on duty, but they are always delicious. (Although if you like mild sweet curry, this menu may not be your style). Also very popular as a takeaway, so sometimes service can be slightly delayed. BYO alcohol - we always buy Cobra next door and they open it for you and provide glasses - they do sell 0% Cobra and soft drinks. We particularly love the Railway Beef and the Green Chili Chicken. We eat here at least once a month or get take out.

We went for a midweek dinner and it was an excellent experience. This is a traditional curry house with all the expected dishes plus some specials of their own. The food we had was delicious (king prawn puri, Rajasthan beef, chicken balti, saag paneer, pilau rice, Kashmiri rise). Portions are generous. Service was great too - friendly and professional. Prices are very good value. The best curry house we've found in Herne Bay.

We got there at 8, food came at 10 and was awful.

Worst dinner experience I have had in Herne Bay. We went in at 8 and food came at 10. Plates were dirty and the food was awful, never seen so much not eaten. My chicken rated like it had been in the freezer for months and then microwaved. Will never go back! Gutted I had to pay for this awful food!

Take away always delicious! Meat is good quality and tender, food has amazing flavour and cooked with real ingredients herbs and spices! Not just the generic sloppy sauce you get from other takeaway in the area

Four of us had a lovely meal. Very fresh, delicately spiced delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant has soft drinks so you can bring your own wine which they open for you. We had lamb bhuna and lamb Balti with lovely mushroom rice and coconut nan.

I've been before, the food was very good Visited last night with the same group of friends. The food was terrible. Has the chef changed. I had the lamb chops ,which I'd had before, but this time, they were tough and covered in gloop. They were tough and grisly, the sauce covering it all up. And EXPENSIVE. £15. The chopped onions etc which are served with the poppadoms were old and wilted, definitely not fresh. Side dishes VERY small, dry and tasteless. Rice looked like it had been cooked days ago. £83.95 which included £2.50 each corkage was a complete joke. Oh and the toilets could do with a deep clean. Staff very friendly, but why wouldn't they be at those prices. Will not be going again. Shocking.

Came for a 60th birthday. A group of us. And it has been the best experience in all the Indian restaurants in herne bay. Would highly recommend.

Waited a long time for takeaway, told a time then waited for collection for 20 minutes in restaurant to be told delay was big order they needed to get out. My first time trying this restaurant on a recommendation and food was okay. Not worth the wait and specific requests ignored, its not hard to not put cold onion slices ontop of your warm food. Will give another try and sit in and hopefully change opinion but had alot better in the area.

We ate here just before Christmas and we were the only diners eating in. We thought this would mean that we obtained excellent waiter service, but alas this wasn't the case. The waiter so busy taking telephone orders, that these took priority, or so it seemed, the service when we were attended to was excellent. The food was not spicy at all and my dish rather tasteless, my family enjoyed their meal. I was later advised that Bengali food favours the addition of more turmeric and less spice which may account for feelings on the food. I would say that we got an overwhelming feeling of cleanliness and it's an odd thing to say but the food was clean. This place is not licensed to sell alcohol which suited us as we are non drinkers. You can bring your own and they charge corkage. this might well be why it was empty in the week before Christmas.

Just returned from a lovely evening at this restaurant. First time here and I must say the food was absolutely delicious - by far the best I have had in this area. Very reasonably priced and lovely service too. We will definitely return.

I've had takeaway on two occassion. Best indian in Herne Bay in my opinion. Their onion bhajis are a must.

Ordered takeaway, which arrived promptly. However the fish curry we ordered was supposed to be fish and aubergine, we got fish with potato and sprouts. This wasn't very tasty and the pappadoms had an unusual taste. I was very disappointed, having read the reviews on TripAdvisor. I will definitely not be ordering from this restaurant again.

We have eaten both inside this lovely restaurant and had a delivery delivered to us a few days ago. All of the food was delicious, we had the korma, jalfrezi, bindi Baji onion bajis, and a vegetable curry. All were very tasty. We will definitely be in/order again soon!!

Been to this venue a few times before the redecoration, really like what’s been done intentionally. 4th may 23 Visited with six friends, great food and friendly service made for an enjoyable evening. Only one down side….. No hand wash in the gents toilet 🚽 I like you can bring your own drinks.

This is probably the best Indian I’ve had. Great choices of food - lots of vegetarian options. Kids meals which is brilliant for fussy eaters! Delivered fresh and hot - no complaints.

Wow, first time we've ordered from here(takeaway) The food arrived hot, the food was a flavour sensation, we had tikka salmon starter and chilli prawn starter, both very flavoursome. As someone who dreams about Indian food, I am yet to visit my new favourite Indian restaurant in the world. My wife and I got a takeaway delivered from here tonight, for the first time and we were both absolutely blown away. The green chilli chicken was incredible and the Murgh Xacuti depth of flavour, was something else. Atul Kutcher should be very worried. Wow.. Thank you. 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

My meal ended up being naan and pappadums. Lamb Tikka masala was like coconut soup. Really runny and full of coconut which is not usual for this dish and I don't like. Other people's dishes were good. Maybe they mixed up the sauces? Hungry and disappointed 😞

My partner and I visited on Friday evening. We were so glad we did. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had a take out from here last month and that was also great - even Mr T said so and he’s fussy about take away food. Well worth a visit x

You should definitely try this little gem. Could not fault service, food or cleanliness. We ordered a prawn and another fish based curry, a chicken and a lamb korai and the were all very very good. We went a little mad with sides and have taken home two lunches for tomorrow😊 you can take your own alcohol and a small corkage is charged or there are plenty of soft drinks available and zero alcohol beers. Good varied menu including octopus which we didn’t try. Looking forward to seeing Rahman and his sons again soon. Update. Hefty price increase. Food was still good but bill was 20% more than last visit.

Smart clean and warm new Indian restaurant in Herne Bay. Friendly and efficient service, delicious food, great attention to detail. Really enjoyed our Indian. Heads up though, currently does not have a licence, so charge a corkage. Wish them well!

This is a fantastic find in Sea Street. Plenty of nearby parking, fresh modern decor and the friendliest welcome. There's a great selection of popular dishes plus fish and several plant based options. The staff very helpful, the food delicious and not at all greasy. We will definitely be returning. A great addition to the Bay.

Had a takeaway from rahmans golden oven tonight and it was delicious! The member of staff that I dealt with upon collection was polite, welcoming, friendly and very apologetic for the short wait for our food. We even got a courtesy call soon after we had finished our meals to check that everything was ok with our food. THE best curry that we've had in ages! Thank you so much from 5 full bellied happy people 🥰

I ordered through just eat. Naan incredibly sweet. Loaded with sugar. Madras gravy is the worst I've ever had. Horrible consistency. Runny too. I asked for my bhindi to be spicy. It was very mild. I ordered 2 of them as well. I wrote on just eat to make it spicy AND called to make sure it would be. Mushroom rice is passable. Overall really really bad meal. There's as much sugar in the naan breads as there is in a can of cola I bet. It's also typical Bangladeshi. There's not a single authentic Indian restaurant that I know of in Kent. India is vast, from Punjabi dishes to Gujarati dishes. Almost every 'Indian' restaurant in the UK is Bangladeshi. Grease laden, sugar loaded junk.

Great food that doesn't taste generic like most other places, very nicely done

Food arrived nearly an hour late , missing items , what did arrive was either cold or Luke warm .. poppadums were crushed to the point of being crumbs … called 3 times to chase order to be told it was on the way !!!! Called to advise them I wanted it collecting as would not be consuming what they delivered, to be told to hold whilst he found the drivers number for me to call them direct to arrange !!!!!Ended up bagging food up and leaving on the doorstep for them to collect - will never use again

Ordered an Indian and in vegetable curry i found a massive wood chip in it after nephew had choked on it not happy seeking legal assistance. Becareful when ordering from here. What are you on about I phoned you over 2hours ago you took my number and said manger will ring me . You told me you was there drinking tea I will also inform the foods standard agency as well as the council

The meals we had were very tasty and the varied menu gave us plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. We took our own drinks as they do not serve alcohol, £2.50 corkage charge per person. Thoroughly recommended, we will definitely be returning.

After frequenting this establishment on numerous occasions. And never being disappointed with their amazing food and service. We decided to hold our daughters 16th birthday there for our family and friends. We booked the table in advance, paid the required deposit. And we pre ordered the food as requested as it was a large booking of 23 people. Well what can I say. The service was appalling, when all they had to do was bring the food out. Everyone got their starters eventually. And they were to be fair ok. Then it was time for the mains. What an absolute joke. They started by bringing the sauce dishes out. Nothing on the table to keep the food warm. We were kept waiting for ages for our rice sides and bread by that time our mains were cold when I complained I was told that they would reheat my dish. In which I replied no I would like a fresh one. Which resulted in the waiter rolling his eyes at me. Very professional. Unbeknown to me some of my party didn’t receive any food and others had mains and no rice. Everyone’s bread was rock hard. By this time I was very irate and upset. They had let other diners in who hadn’t even booked and they were treated with priority with beautifully cooked piping hot food. Where as we were left to get on with it. The evening ended up with 4 of our party actually eating their food and the rest of us had nothing. And to top it off had the cheek to charge those that did eat. It was lucky for them that they had our deposit otherwise they wouldn’t have got a penny. Absolutely appalling behaviour appalling attitude disgusting customer service skills and above all else they ruined my daughters birthday.

We thought all hope was lost after the Shad closed, we tried others and ended up almost giving up looking for something as good. Thank goodness we tried Rahman’s Golden Oven, it was lovely! The best curry in Herne Bay! Thank you so much, it was delicious!

I really can’t see why this place is rated so much on other sites. None of what we had was good. Onion bhajis were like they’d been cooked all day and basically greasy lumps of powder. The chicken vindaloo had the heat you’d like to expect, but absolutely no flavour. The rest of it was no better - a bit like, but worse than a basic supermarket curry. I’ve been eating Indian/Bengali food for over 40 years and this was among the worst I’ve ever had. I put mine in the bin and made some toast.

Really good restaurant and their takeaway is first class . We had a meal with family to celebrate our anniversary The restaurant is quite small and it was full . There is no bar but you can buy soft drinks . You are allowed to take your own bottles of wine which was great . The food was amazing, lots of choice,and the service was excellent, very friendly staff.. I would highly recommend a visit or certainly a takeaway.

Service slow but totally worth the wait and friendly staff. Excellent saag aloo and an unusual tarka daal - very very good. Crispy based naan. Octopus and scallop starters were good (the latter v small portion) - might try the mains next time. Would definitely go back. It’s a BYO - tescos down the road do an excellent rose Prosecco (£2.50 corkage charge per person).

Visited for a quick Friday night curry but turned out to be not what expected. The Chef has clearly changed as the food was not up to scratch. My wife's Lamb chops were inedible so we sent them back and chose a replacement. My chili chicken was bland and the keema rice unfortunately had little keema to show. When we went to pay the tried to charge for the chops as the waiter said they looked OK to him!! Thankfully they waivered the cost and we left, never to return I'm afraid.

Found a gem of an Indian restaurant 🍲 So glad that I originally couldn't get to visit The Shad Indian eatery down the road as it was closed and had to look elsewhere for something to eat. Had a wonderful meal, food was delicious 😋compliments to the chef 👏 Staff were really friendly and attentive I will definitely be coming back again the future !!

Taken my family out this week Wednesday for our first family dinner out this year and have to say was very satisfied, haven't had authentic tasting indian food in a restaurant for a long while. Staff were really friendly and made us feel really welcome and did not have to wait long for our food. From our appetisers to the main course could not find a fault everything was delicious. This restaurant is a hidden gem 💎 Will definitely be back here again very soon
