Kashmir Tandoori in Canterbury

I came here to break my fast alone during Ramadan. As a fairly new Muslim revert sometimes it can feel lonely, but the staff here bought me out a date and water to break my fast with which was lovely and made me feel really welcome. The food and service was 10/10 and I will definitely be visiting again. Thank you! ☺️

30 min wait for two dishes whilst all tables empty. Small portions, expensive. Heavy tomato tikka masala. Biryani was good. Never told about surcharge or 15%discount available online.

Walked in and was sat straight away. The staff were welcoming and friendly, but the food was the standout star - amazing!

The coconut rice I ordered was really mushy did not enjoy that at all. the curry though was really lovely. The delivery driver was very friendly and found my flat no problem but sometimes there is trouble finding it so I was impressed.

Absolutely terrible experience ,head waiter very rude from start to finish ,another couple walked out when there saw his attitude.younger waiter was very apologetic about this. Food was ok at best and house wine was without doubt watered down ,Won’t be visiting again

I took my daughter to dinner here, it was very busy, so busy that we didn't feel particularly welcome, no conversation or rapport with anyone serving, nobody said thank you or even noticed when we left. Seemed a bit chaotic to be honest. To be fair, the food was nice but I prefer to eat where people actually notice you and you are made to feel welcome, so we wont be returning.

A chicken tikka rice that was just lukewarm overly salty rice with chicken tikka pieces that looked and tasted like they came out of an Iceland supermarket ready to eat packet. A kashmiri curry that tasted like cold banana soup with pieces of just about to go out of date low quality chicken, no one else in the house could stomach it either. Got thrown away and was charged £17 and waited over an hour for the privelige, utterly vile.

I didn't find it extraordinary. Otherwise the rest is fine. It's cold in the restaurant I think, the waiter is quite impatient. Basic food I've had better as an Indian restaurant. Affordable prices.

Went last night, was the worst food I’ve ever eaten and waiter is so rude . Tasteless the popadom has more flavour than the curry. Biggest waste of money!

This restaurant has wonderful hospitality run by Rahul whose family has owned this restaurant since 1965. Sivinya his right hand man manages the day to day running and the staff are as busy as bees but will always help you. The menu is expansive and if you want something hot try chicken naga which is a rich and spicy dish which accompanied with a rice is superb. the prawn masala is another beautiful dish and as a side dish try a matter paneer. this place has many regulars and we certainly recommend it.

First class food as always . We are always blown away by such 1st class service and food . Never ever falters and we will continue to dine here as it never fails to deliver . It’s a shame other restaurants don’t take a leaf out of their book . Writers are so polite and respectful. Something hard to find these days .

We didn't like the food, little taste and one of the coconut milk dishes was downright sweet. The portions are also very small. Sorry but it wasn't great

I visited Kashmir tandoori with my friends. The service was attentive and the ambiance was cozy. The flavors were rich and authentic. The protions were generous, and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, not sure why one was wearing white ear bud headphones. Food was good, reasonable size portions and priced. Restaurant was a little tired with menus, bench seating, fixtures and fittings seen better days. I'd go again and would recommend.

The staff's exceptional service made a favorable impression. I placed an order for shish kebab, butter chicken, and tandoori chicken. Their sauces were quite flavorful, and the food was delicious. The quantity was sufficient. I highly recommend it.

Although the food arrived on time it was cold, the whole meal was tasteless and bland, no authentic flavours. The sauce they call vindaloo was like a gravy you have with a roast. The chicken was Rubbery and the popadoms were missing too,. This was my first time ordering from here through a recommendation and it will be my last time ordering from here. Very disappointed especially for the high prices they charge now a days.

The food is really tasty and fresh. Bariani is amazing. The menu is varied and wonderful. The food is delicious and clean, and the staff were respectful and wonderful. I ate biryani and it was very delicious, and in a spicy dish there were pieces of chicken with very wonderful peppers. The restaurant manager is a very respectable person and he lived in Saudi Arabia for nearly 20 years. In general, anyone who comes or studies in Canterbury must eat in this restaurant.

I went with my class we ate at the underground spot of the restaurant it was a great vibe. The restaurant was making me feel as if I was in the middle of india it had great decoration. Although the food wasn’t for my tastebuds I still enjoyed it because it was well made.The service was great,they were all very nice overall I enjoyed it

The Kashmir is always good. First time I've been for ages and it was as nice as always. My dansak was delicious. Somewhere I will always go back to!

Ordered at 9.30 and didn’t get our food until 10.52. The food was so sickly and full of red food colouring everything tasted the same. Even the onion bajis were bright red. My tikka masala tasted nothing like how it should. Couldn’t actually finish my food. Would never order from there again.

Ordered delivery takeaway whilst we were on the Park and Ride at New Dover Road Canterbury in our motorhome. Fabulous service and great food. Definitely order again next time. Thankyou.

En riktigt bra restaurangupplevelse. En fin och trevlig lokal. Vi blev väldigt väl mottagna och serverades papadam och dricka jättesnabbt. Vi beställde två Lamb Butter Masala och en Chicken Balti samt Palau-ris och Nan-bröd. En stor "värmeplatta" sattes mitt på bordet sedan placerades skålarna med maten på den varma plattan. Tallrikarna vi fick var uppvärmda. Vi var alla väldigt nöjda med maten. Allt var riktigt gott och välsmakande. Servicen var jättebra och prisnivån rimlig. Vi kan varmt rekommendera Kashmir Tandoori.

Despite my husband having great memories of this place during his uni days nearly 30 years ago it wasn’t very good sadly. We got caught on bank holiday Sunday needing food at 9pm and everything was closed or closing. Biryiani greasy and tasteless and you couldn’t make out any veg in the veg curry. Not cheap either….

Food delivery late by about 15 mins, in total waiting time was 1,5hrs. Food quality was alright, the set meal is definitely worth it! One mistake in order- insteas of veggie samosas they put meat. Otherwise, the rest were fairly tasty.

I’m still waiting for my food and keep getting told it is on his way they can stick it where the Sun don’t shine as far as I concerned doesn’t take two hours to do a delivery. Terrible Customer Service tried to ring a few times and they just literally end the call

This restaurant is very nearer to cathedral.Yesterday we went to this restaurant, we had paratha with tandoori butter chicken, veg fried rice, chicken briyani,chicken tikka, all are very tasty. Rest rooms also well maintained.

Awesome food, tasty and delicious. The mango chutney and beetroot chutney are my favourites here. Tandoori was first class. The hospitality they give amazing. 🤩

I’ve had good food from here previously but this order was very poor. Bland bhuna, dry rice and onion bhajies, and the Dahl was a small amount of lentils in a very oily sauce . Very disappointing

Food is ok, but I constantly tell them I'm allergic to cucumber and so often my food comes delivered in a container with cucumber in the garnish. Wasted so much money over the years and it's a shame because otherwise it's an ok restaurant.

I don’t tend to leave many reviews. I know that people generally try hard to do a decent job and make a living. So, this is the experience I had. I ordered at 19:20 through Uber eats. The Uber eats app showed delivery at 20:00 to 20:20. At 20:50 I requested an update on delivery through the app and again at 21:10; the response was limited to a statement that the provider would update the expected delivery time. That did not happen. I rang (for a second time) at 21:15 and after a long wait for an answer gave up. We had a sausage roll each. At 21:30 the meal arrived. The driver was polite and apologised for the delay. The meal was hot. The onion bhaji had fallen apart. The chicken starter was ok, adequate. The garlic nan bread was ok if raw garlic taste suits (I cook, I know how things taste.) the lamb buna and chicken madras were rather short of meat which I can live with but the sauces were watery with the distinct taste of uncooked chilli powder/curry powder (I cook, I have made that mistake and learned from it.) I hate food waste. The garlic naan, half eaten, went in the bin with the curry sauces. The dog had the slightly soft popadoms that had been provided free of charge (thank you for that, Kashmiri Tandoori but it can’t cover up for the rest of the experience.) The delivery driver was polite. Everything else was shoddy or worse. Believe the negative reviews. Somebody else should have a shot at running a take away in Edwinstowe.

What a charming place. The food had a unique flavor that we really enjoyed. The place was spotless, and the owner is wonderful. The staff were super friendly too.

This place is just incredible. We're big fans. It's consistently fantastic every time we visit. Hard to find anything better anywhere else. Top-notch all the way.

I was very excited to try this restaurant, and with me and my girlfriend sharing our birthday om the same day we got a table of 8 with some friends and bookee in for 7pm. The menu offers everything you expect of an indian restaurant and it certainly didn't disappoint. We ordered poppadoms, which we did have to pay extra for (some places charge, some don't). I opted for the Kashmiri Chicken curry , which is cooked with banana. It was a very tasty dish, but i would say the naga i ordered for delivery later on in the month was better. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and is very central to the high street, about a 5-minute walk. The service was ok, although after we ordered at times it was a struggle to get their attention for additional drink requests. This also proved to be the case most when trying to pay the bill, which took over 4 seperate attempts and over 30 minutes. The restaurant was fairly busy, but not enough to merit slow service. Overall I would certainly go back for another experience, but i have had better Indian cuisines elsewhere. Would recommend.

Don't just don't missing items and food was late and cold

This is my local treat when I have been travelling with work, or on a weekend with family and friends, Kashmir Tandoori is the best you can find in Kent. Meat Biryani, Tandoori Butter Chicken, Lamb Jalfrezi, Meat Samosa, Onion Bhaji, Garlic Naan are firm favourites! Rahul and co are incredible hosts and you will always have an authentic experience when indulging in their meals. Highly recommended

We ordered a take away of two dishes, plus rice, and one poppadum . Cost £30!!! On arrival to collect, I had to wait about 8 minutes before anyone came to serve me. The meal then came out and the food was Luke warm, with a crushed poppadum. On getting home, we had to reheat the dishes. One was king prawn, and you had to search for the prawns with a magnifying glass, there were so few, swimming in a tasteless sauce. No vegetables. The second chicken dish consisted of just a few chunks of chicken thigh meat, which were in a bright red sauce, with no taste and had definitely not been marinated at all. Just a horrid meal, and I wish we’d had baked beans on toast, and not wasted the money. Don’t bother ordering from here.
