I like this place. Bit pricey but good grog. You can hire a prison sell for the evening too.

Relocation great view and very reasonable prices.

Unfortunately, me and my partner never got to experience it. We had booked a holiday on canterbury for our anniversary. A few weeks before we booked a table here and was very clear that my partner has a nut allergy on the booking.When we arrived they said they had seen the nut allergy and was unable serve us. (This is absolutely fine, as they couldn't guarantee and no one wanted to take the risk). The fact that they knew this info weeks before and hadent told us, we was so disappointed.

Very loud, innovative ordering system, quick service

Food was pub- like and the service was what you'd expect in a pud. All good.

It was amazing! The staff member we were with, Elliot (sorry if I spelt it wrong) was super friendly, helpful, funny and made the escape room even more fun and tense. We got drinks after, the service came quickly and they tasted great. 100/100 would recommend to anyone in Canterbury and was one of the highlights of our trip 🔑💯

The Rad has appeared again in Canterbury with a new burger menu. Juicy burger and lots of sides. Great location next to the Escape room. Lovely atmosphere looking out to the main road. Friendly staff

Organised my friend's hen do here, partaking in their cocktail masterclass and karaoke hire. It was an absolute blast. Mike instructed us across 2 hours how to make french martini and blinis, which was very fun and hilarious at times. He truly adds his own flare to the experience. After this, we then had the room to ourselves, all of us loving the selection of music to sing badly to for another few hours. Mike attended to us throughout quickly, bringing our drink orders etc. Made for a brilliant hen do!

Felt nit was much better with the tablet service and being taken to a table. Had a pleasant few drinks.

Great place. Old police station and prison - go see its fab. Plus an escape experience on tap.

We came to a bar with a friend. The bar staff served us perfectly. However, there was a bar manager (the so-called pineapple) with a friend who has a problem with his right leg who is drunk. He wasn't drunk, he just has a problem with his right leg. A lot of discrimination. He simply limps on his right leg for personal reasons. Discrimination all over.

Weekend getaway in Canterbury! Came across this pub/bar and sat down for a drink. Staff were friendly and very polite. Lovely art inside and near a historic building close by a museum.

The portions are good. You could visit the museum for free after dining here

Found by accident but so glad we did. The food was fabulous and the kids meals were free (my 8 year old especially enjoyed the Mac and cheese!). Portions were really good. I love the quirkiness and the free entry to the Westgate museum. Staff member that served us was really nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

One of my favourite places in Canterbury.... The Zombie cocktail is amazing, and the food is really good too. The old prison vibe is oddly welcoming and intriguing. Also, the service was impeccable

I didn't eat there so can't comment on that. But the place looks very nice. Next to the river, you can sit outside or inside. They have these refurbished holding cells in the back where you could sit with a group at a table.. a bit too claustrophobic for my taste but certainly unique.

Had a great time which was made better by Ed. Ed was the best waiter we’ve been served by in a long time, very funny and entertaining bloke.

I ordered three-starter combo deal and was pleasantly surprised. The portions were great, tasted amazing, and the price was very reasonable. The theme/style of the restaurant is also rustic, but cute.

We came here for the brothers 30th birthday, escape rooms a little food and some cocktails. Unfortunately we had some friends drop out due to personal circumstances, yet I'm really impressed with how the staff helped alter the bookings to meet our needs with short notice. Praise to Luke Webb (I believe it was) that made our first experience here one that will ensure our return. I went to a hen party 🥳🎉 great place for that, we went upstairs. Brilliant night. I didn't eat but some of the others had food that looked really good.

Great food and location to escape most tourists and have a beer on the patio by the river.

Escape room was excellent and well managed by Elliot. Drinks afterwards took ages, despite the place being empty and be careful there was a service charge of 10% added which was not mentioned. A fruit juice costs more than a pint of beer 100 yards away 🤦‍♂️. It's a lovely place but expect to pay.

What a place! What lovely people and an excellent escape room! A must do in Canterbury and some of the best service we had all weekend 👏🏼

Very unique place to visit. Atmosphere was brilliant and staff were very friendly. Food was OK but weren't overly impressed.

Went to an escape room here that was amazing, a really fun time for everyone involved and we then popped into The Poind afterwards and the service needs a special shout out. Every single person that interacted with us was kind, attentive and seemed to genuinely care of we were having a good time. The food was immense as well, we had the salmon (which was lush!) and the pulled pork (which was a good balance between sweet and bbq-goodness). Great non-alcoholic drink options too!

This was the best Sunday lunch (and I’ve eaten quite a few decades worth) I’ve had in my life. Everything on the plate absolutely slapped, with extra veg and potatoes for the table too. Almost forgot about the cauliflower cheese side that was gorgeously caramelised wasn’t a watery bland mess like you get in a lot of places. Add in friendly service and a quirky converted police station cell as a private dining room and we left very happy. Looking for Sunday lunch in Canterbury? Book yourself in for an afternoon in the drunk tank!

The escape room is off it head highly recommend. My man Hayden is a legend. Can’t wait to be back

Went in there for cocktails and you couldn't even taste the alcohol in very disappointed and very expensive

We went for the Christmas tapas and ordered a festive sharing board plus a side of the parsnips and carrots. Everything tasted so good, especially the beef filled Yorkshire puddings. I don't know if you can see in the photo but the pibs were slightly anemic for my liking and I would have liked them a bit crisper, also the carrots and parsnips were a bit hard. But apart from that, flavour on point and can't beat the service, they were straight to your table when you press the button! Would come back again to try their normal menu!

NOT dog / customer friendly. I came here yesterday evening for catchup drinks with friends. I was here with my dog louie and friends last year, this year they say they are not / have never been dog friendly. About 6 staff on and everyone then ignored me

Had our work's Xmas do here. About 13 of us. We had our own room and waitress. No problems, no waiting, very good service. Excellent starter of ham, egg and chips! Turkey roast dinner lovely.

Was quite disappointed with the venue, especially as the work Xmas party was being held in one of the rooms. Very pricey drinks, the food was OK, but not worth the cost of it, and the room we used was so cold that some guests had to don coats throughout the evening.

From the moment I walked in I was treated like Royalty! The Service was quick! The food was incredible, well presented and just the right portion size! The 3 Course Meal was such a bargain and tasted soooo good! I will definitely be coming back for more!

I was a Sunday roast virgin and I had a terrible experience for my first time of having it. I ordered for beef and the texture was like beef crust with super salty and burned flavours. No words can describe how disappointed I was.

We did the crime and punishment lab escape room and Bob was absolutely brilliant, very knowledgeable on the building and made the whole experience really exciting / fun - will be back !! :)

Great service, charming guys at this handy pre-theatre bistro-pub in the old police station, pound and - group dining even here! - the scrubbed and upped police cells. Lovely blasted brick details and creative glass ceiling use of old police photo. With so many corners out of waiter view, they can be 'summonsed' by push-button. A pleasant, slightly loud diner.

Sunday roast was amazing Delicious Beef, veg and side sauces Really looked after my son 100% recommended and would come back ( Every time we return the food is always spot on )

Another place gone cash free, which caused a major problem when they didn't give us any alcohol in a dink that was supposed to have it. I just asked for a replacement drink, but No that would not work as it would mess up their stock, refund then have to buy another drink, ridiculous system that takes forever to get served and the atmosphere was like a morgue. I know this used to be an old prison, I didn't expect to feel like I was in one.

Fun place for party treat, food was good ..maybe like a few more top of the range choices but otherwise very enjoyable

Went there in the afternoon for tapas. Staff were great, really helpful. We used our free entrance to the museum and got a free meal for our child. The food was fantastic!

Lovely venue, food always delicious, expensive but worth it. Be careful of the service charge when ordering through the app and not a human, can rack up the bills pretty fast

Sat outside for 30 mins after seeing a person serving who told me to sit down and he would come take our order. Then 3 people were serving and none of them had eyes big enough to see that I needed serving. Even though 1 employee saw and told me what to do. Terrible service.

Wow, such a great place to visit. We sat in a cell all on our own and ordered drinks. The staff were nice and friendly.

Normally I would not eat at a touristy spot, but this was recommended and it suited our day and I’m very glad I did! Really impressed by the food! And drink selection is good. Lots of gf/df/vg/af choices. We had kids fish and chips (free with a meal during the day) and very good with a nice house tartare sauce, the beef burger, chicken burger (unreal), and Cajun chicken salad. The pardon peppers were perfect (after we added a bit more of their flaked salt). And nice olives. Would totally recommend and get why some friends said we should eat here. Clean, nice decor. Very nice thank you!

Open till 2am and the staff are very polite. Please note its table service and they don't take cash its card only.

I really enjoyed my delicious lunch here. Flavours were tantalisingly different from what was on offer at other lunchtime venues. Top that with warm and welcoming professional wait staff made for a very pleasant dining experience. Can highly recommend! Well done, keep doing what you do so well!

Never really felt comfortable there. The tapas are a rip-off. I won't go there again.

Wonderful experience with a new tapas menu which was a delight. Enjoyed our host’s friendly, helpful attitude and also the added bonus of the museum tour included with lunch.

Writing this review after two separate incidents with the same security guard. English, dark hair and beard - extremely rude and speaks to people like they’re beneath him. First occasion was last year when a group of 6 of us (couples) went out and the men were not allowed in for bogus reasons. Thought we’d give it another go recently and our friends were told to be respectful of others because they were DANCING in a bar - god forbid. Won’t be returning after these two incidents because of that one security guard. Rest of the staff pleasant but he is just awful.

Went for a "Quick" drink. Decided to order from qr code as the server disappeared and ordered very expensive drinks, a was service charge was added and drinks still took 20 mins or so to come. Was a shame as previously had a delicious roast and great service

Nice Burger and a free ticket for the West Gate Tower View Point 👉 15 GBP for a burger, little bit more expensive than in Germany.

Unique place , worth a visit, extremely friendly

This unique restaurant is an excellent lunch spot with a fab view. Our meal was a fun experience, and both chicken and beef burgers were delicious. We especially loved the novelty of the service buttons (but won't spoil the surprise for anyone). Would highly recommend, and you get free entry to the museum with your receipt too.

It's like it has returned to being a prison. Escorted in, assigned a table which you can't move from and not allowed to even go to the bar. Pointless place.

Amazing views of Canterbury, escape room (with a brilliant and enthusiastic gamemaster who clearly took great enjoyment and pleasure in his job) and then an amazing meal in Cell 4. Was particularly impressed with our attentive and friendly waiter. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but there's a picture of us so maybe he'll remember us.

One of the best Sunday lunches I’ve had. Kids eat free with a paying adult too, so great value for money. Great service and great food. Will definitely be coming back.

We had a very enjoyable food experience. The staff and crew are very friendly. The place has an interesting history.

Amazing concept and I was immediately impressed with the building and decor. Although we had to queue briefly to be seated the front of house staff were very nice and professional. Couple of things that made the experience not so great. I ordered a rare fillet steak which comes with chips and a side salad. My brother ordered a medium rare fillet steak. My brother in law ordered a chicken burger. Our food arrived promptly however my steak was done as a medium and my brothers looked rare. My brother had his coated int he smoked butter and I ordered a peppercorn sauce so it’s not as if we could swap and besides he orders a medium rare. My brother decided to eat his anyway but I decided to ask the staff to send mine back. The waitress took it and then came back to say that it was in fact rare. I’ve eaten many steaks in many restaurants it wasn’t rare. I sent it back and said I wanted another with a different member of staff. By the time my new steak arrived I’d pretty much eaten my chips and side salad (which was probably the best part of the meal because it was so tasty) and so had the rest of the table. Except my brother in law found a hair in his fries. We didn’t say anything as at this point we just wanted to get out of there. The music also was way too loud for a restaurant. We love our music but it’s sometimes nice to have your food And a conversation without having to shout. We asked for the bill but we just got the waiter with a card payment machine so we didn’t get an itemised bill but he told us that they had taken the discretionary tip off the bill. Gee thanks. This place could be amazing just a few tweeks and definitely some guidance for the chef especially when it comes to food hygiene and waiting staff that do not question a customer when they are not happy.

Was very nice and friendly. With 10%discount visiting the tower. Or seems had meal here can visit the towner for free. Had many Cocktails choice all classic and tried Long Island iced tea was so lovely.

Visited here twice during our visit to Canterbury, absolutely beautiful seating area by the river and a stunning building. Inside can feel a bit less exciting but still a lovely place to stop after an exhausting day of sight seeing. Had a lovely set of drinks and chips on our second occasion.

Quite possibly the best service we have had on our trip to the uK. Warm, welcoming, accommodating of our kids. Worth a visit!

We went for a works do and rented the Karakoe room and purchased a couple of drinks packages. Honestly the best value for money in a fantastic setting. The staff are just brilliant and the food is gorgeous and good value. Absolutely 💯 recommended and we will definitely be going back 🥰
