Always amazing food with a great atmosphere. Plenty of parking, outside seating and all dog friendly. Fair price for the quality of food you're getting. 100% recommend this place. Burgers, pizzas, pies and roasts in particular are all great!

Ordered some beers only for the barman to use his fingers to wipe the excess head off the beers, which was really off putting, not sure we asked for fingers in our drinks! Anyway, food was tasty. Atmosphere was friendly.

expensive £22 for a roast. meat was tough, basic veg... pre order our food choices because there was 11 of us, still had to wait ages, people who arrived before me were getting their food first. had to go to the bar to get the drinks as we was waiting too long. Booked in for 2 course (main and pudding) in the end we cancelled the puddings due to the service. I told the staff my views at the time and also wrote an email which i did not even get a reply for. Dont waste your money. £22 for a basic roast. Dont bother, id much a roast at sainsburys for £6.00.

A very nice and quiet pub with comfortable seating, a beer garden and a bookable lounge. The staff is attentive and friendly. The menu is well sorted. We had the chicken burger and the black robin burger, both excellent. Also the cherry crumble with custard as dessert. However, the range of local beers advertised on the website was rather poor. Therefore “only” 4.75 stars.

We held a wake at the Black Robin, and the experience was so good from the very first meeting to discuss dates. Every member of staff was so kind and attentive, they accommodated all of our requests and the food was wonderful (and there was lots of it!) I can't thank all of the staff team enough for being so lovely at this very tricky time. I would fully recommend The Black Robin to anyone looking for a venue for a wake.

Lovely evening meal at The Black Robin. Great menu with specials board. Food was all top quality and we'll presented. Young staff were excellent and are a credit to this place. Arrived at pub and ordered a BLT bacon sandwich. £9.50. When the sandwich arrived it came with a side salad. The bacon was well cooked streaky with a little lettuce and bits of tomato. The problem was the thick cut white bread was stale and one slice was dried out. I dont like to complain in front of my friend but discretely told the waitress. I had eaten most of the sandwich as was quite hungry and the waitress said she would deduct something off the price after seeing the staler piece of bread. She in fact allowed 95p off the bill..very dissapointed with it.

Lovely! Funeral Wake. Book for 1pm tea and coffee there but no food there - why - they were preparing it. By 1.15 when everone had got their drinks HOT sticky chicken drumsticks, warm scotch eggs, warm sausage rolls and bouncy fresh sanwiches. Light scones, jam and cream. Nothing had been sitting under cling film for houres. Perfect!

I keep meaning to take a few photos of the good before I do this review but I keep eating it to fast and forget each time. Such a great pub with plenty of space inside so you don’t feel cramped or sat on peoples laps. Food is right up there and I would say is one of the best pubs for food in the south east of Kent that I have been to. I have had the same both times being the prawn starter, the prawns are nearly the size of a lobster 😂 and taste so fresh. Black robin burger is what I have had for mains and it is very good comes with chips that are super fresh and crunchy. Desert I had the brownie Sunday and it was like eating drugs, just needed more. Great pub would highly recommend, staff are very attentive and happy so sort any issues.

Having discovered The Black Robin on one of our trips to Kent, we have made it our business to try and visit on most visits to the area for Sunday Lunch. It is usually very good, but this time was a real disappointment. Fortunately, my wife had the 'Special' Burger of the Day and that was really nice. However, both Roasts, the Pork and Beef, were most disappointing because: a) The quality of the meat wasn't good b) The Roast Potatoes were like Bullets c) The Cauliflower Cheese didn't have any Cauliflower, it was all undercooked (worse than Al Dente) and the Cheese sauce was congealed. d) The other vegetables were mediocre The only good thing about the 'Sunday Lunch' was the Pudding Either way, it certainly wasn't worth anywhere near £ 28-00 for two courses, it wasn't even worth £ 18-00. The Black Robin needs to get its act together.

Had a wonderful meal here, lots of flavour and plenty of it - good hearty pub food in a beautiful setting, highly recommended. Just one gripe - had the steak which was cooked perfectly, however when the waitress asked if we wanted any sauce for the steak as she bought them to the table, we replied “peppercorn please” she replied with.. you need to ask for sauces when you order not when at the table, we can’t accommodate unfortunately…… if this is the case, would it be possible to either put that on the menu or ask when the steak is ordered? But again, a very nice place overall, will return.

I went here with my dad for a Sunday Roast, cocktail was lovely and dad enjoyed his red wine. The Roast dinner was really nice except my beef was tough and had to leave most of the beef, roast potatoes tasted old, my dads pork was not crackling. The rest was delicious. We had desert, sadly my custard was very cold with the Rhubarb and custard. We left full and gave a tip. We would love to come back but just some feedback to make things better.

We booked the Black Robin for my dad's wake as it was the nearest venue to Barham Crematorium that would cater for such an event. It's a lovely country pub and we were given a separate area for our guests. We had around 35 guests and the maximum permitted is 45. The food was delicious and all homemade - warm scotch eggs, warm sausage rolls, mini quiches, chilli chicken drumsticks, plenty of sandwiches and scones with proper clotted cream and jam. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy, the staff were friendly and helpful and it was a great success (as far as these things go). Many thanks to the staff who looked after us so well.

We recently held a wake here following a family funeral at Barham crematorium and I can only say that there's nothing about it I would change. We were given the garden room at the back of the pub which is a lovely warm inviting space, teas & coffees were already put out to welcome us & drinks could be ordered at the bar to be put on the funeral tab. A beautiful buffet soon appeared with an excellent variety that catered equally well for our vegan guests as it did for meat eaters. The staff were very discreet & we really didn't need to ask them for anything as it was all so well anticipated. They brought in an extra table when needed & kept the tea & coffee pot topped up. I would highly recommend the Black Robin for an event like this, many thanks to the kind staff working that day:)

Rather underwhelmed by the food we had for dinner. My fish pie served in a very hot soup plate was very few bits of fish, two prawns and some green peas floating in a liquid puree full of fat surrounded by bubbling oil (I did not dare to ask what kind of oil it was but suspect it was margarine, as it gave me heartburn butter or cream never cause). My partner had a very disappointing salmon with some crust on it but tasteless. Overall, totally unprofessional cooking for a pub. Will not be back.

The Meat was tough, the Roast Potatoes were possibly cooked a lot earlier & warmed through & the Gravy was extremely weak! As regular Sunday Lunch diners using Pubs across Kent & Sussex these Meals were really poor, other Pubs are offering better & cheaper! We did get £7.20 reduced from our Bill but won't go back or recommend!

Nice for a beer, but the food wasn’t great at all … the pizza in particular was probably the worst “restaurant“ pizza I ever had, with (what tasted like) a shop bought crust, totally devoid of any seasoning, and a somewhat stale aftertaste. Have a drink and save your appetite for somewhere else!
