The best restaurants in River Arun South East

Jim used to run the cafe in Middleton-on-Sea which is sorely missed, so we decided to see how he was getting on at no.72. - Very well with Sarah still there, and a nice lady called Caroline who was on trial for the day. I hope she stays because she wasn't nervous at all d served the perfect large mug of tea. Our lunches were perfect too. I chatted with other customers who were really friendly. Called in for breakfast and we both opted for the set No. 2 which was tasty and perfectly cooked. Special mention for the coffee which was the best that I have had for a while. Service was good too. I don't usually bother to leave a review for a cafe but felt that I had to this time as it was so good.

With a long wait for food at the Harvester we came across here for lunch instead. Although it took a while for the food to come out the kitchen, my mate’s little boy was happy to amuse himself in the soft play area. When the food turned up we definitely preferred the chicken burger to the hamburger.

People seemed nice and it was good we could take our dog in. I ordered fillet of fish on its own as I have a gastric bypass but the fish and batter was so soggy, I was worried it had been warmed in the microwave so only had one mouthful as I was afraid I was going to be ill. The hot chocolate were nice but not enough for us to come back, sorry

Food arrived quicker than expect and portions sizes were pretty good, however... The food itself was fairly poor. The Chow Mein was very very oily and also somewhat burnt. The rest of the food was 'fine' but it's certainly one of the worst Chinese takeaways I have had in my life. The inclusion of fortune cookies was a nice touch.

Very busy and clearly short of staff, had to wait an hour for mains. But food was great and staff friendly. The place is looking a little tired and in need of some TLC overall we were happy. Additional , so sorry to see this sight has suffered an terrible fire and is totally destroyed. Hope you get to rebuild soon.

There are some staff with pride in their job and who offer great service with a smile. Unfortunately, more often than not, one is greeted with rubbish on dirty paving and a grubby entrance carpet with grubby furniture ( crumbs &dirt collected along back of seats), unwiped tables and dust and crumbs on floor! The toilets are a constant issue...and I understand people coming off the street doesn't help...but one toilet of 2 is often out of order. I suggest get the code (which ironically is still reflected on receipts?) back working and ask those who 'drop in' to kindly drop some change into the donation box or ask for a pound! Train all staff to finish artisan coffees- that is after all Costas 'speciality'...artisan coffee? I do though praise Makaila for consistent, well presented coffee and good service.

First time of using this business. I’d read good reviews and decided to try this place and was not disappointed. I had a small mixed doner snd kofte kebab my partner just had an ordinary doner. Honestly it was succulent and lovely.really well chargrilled and so much food, one small kebab could easily have fed two of us. Very reasonably priced especially for the amount and quality. If this business can turn out food of this quality at this price then why can’t everyone!? Will definitely be using this place again and again

Better than previous time , usually very nice but last occasion was poor thankfully this time it was nice again

Really salty. Rude service. Fish batter is too crusty. This is meant to be large. I paid £15+ for all this. Not cooked fresh to order. Go next door! Avoid

If you want to score a bag to sniff this is your place, if you want to listen to shit mix dj music this is your place. Wana fight definitely your place to go . Steer clear I'd say it's a dive.

It was a little cold and my baguette didn’t have much chicken in but it was still nice

Really friendly helpful staff and lovely food. Beautiful view across the beach and I will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend. As a biker from Fleet, this is a lovely ride and the chef is a biker too.

I would leave a lower review. Bit couldn’t. Did r receive my full order and was told the driver must of eaten it. Only asked for fill order. Then was told come down and sort it. Eg. Asking for trouble. Not what I expected. Just wanted the full order full filling. Will never use again
