Rice Bowl in Arun

Arrived 30 minutes late, my lemon chicken had a dead fly and a hair in it. When I brought it up with the restaurant they decided to accuse me of adding it deliberately, rather than accepting they may have missed it.

Really? The most disgusting Chinese I have ever had! The rice was dry, the curry glue and tasteless, the soup just like vomits, I treated my kids to the end of summer party and they wouldn't believe hoe bad it was!

Had a takeaway this evening. Arrived in approx 15 minutes and you could tell it was rushed. Two bites and I binned mine. ****ing Awful. Absolute dogs dinner 👌🏼

What a lovely meal from here this evening. The SnS chicken balls were the best i have ever had(not greasy like so many) My wife loved her veg chow mein and the house special fried rice(with no prawns or veg) was awesome.

Ordered through just eat.but the driver never showed up. Went down to get another meal and they were very kind and apologetic even though it wasn't their fault. Great food 👌🏻

Remember watching the 2010 World cup in here whilst waiting for my meal once. Was a good game and great atmosphere watching Uruguay vs Ghana with a stranger. Ended up getting really sick from the food however so wouldn’t recommend ordering anything.

I’m appalled at my food tonight. Three slices of mushroom do not a curry make. I would understand if it was truffle. Pathetic!!!!

We used to live around the area and used to go all the time but we moved up north to chapel st Leonards in Lincolnshire but we came down for a holiday so we made sure that we got our favourite beef curry and egg fried rice, it was as delicious as before, the same people ran the Chinese. Thanks Rice Bowl.

It's cheap .... but ..... chicken satay was a few scraps of chicken in amongst an entire bowl of vegetables.... not really what I wanted or expected

I normally have a favourite place that I order through but I figured I would try somewhere different for once…. Which was a bad mistake. I ordered a pretty boring meal consisting of egg fried rice, sweet & sour chicken balls and chips so I figured it couldn’t really go wrong…. The rice was slightly off colour and had a rubbery consistency to it. The chicken balls were so hard to cut through and when I did manage to cut through the ‘chicken’ was horrible, it was a dirty dark colour that had a slight smell to it. The meal came to just over £13… the only thing I ate was a handful of chips in the end, the bin ate better than I did. I took a risk trying somewhere new and it didn’t work out, atleast I know never to order from here again.

Absolutely disgusting! Soggy duck and everything tasted of salt! Ask for a refund and was refused food completely unedible Avoid this place!!!

Have been a regular customer here for well over 30 years. I have never had a poor meal, b for 1 is my go to but all of the menu is very good

Ordered a meal for delivery for the first time , I used to live near the rice bowl and had never had a bad experience, I wanted to support this particular take away but found myself with a substandard meal , chicken balls were as hard as iron as if they’d been fried to death, it was all just warm , not a great experience, especially as I’d expected so much more , the Bin eat well tonight. I never ever write a bad review but I’m absolutely furious.

I cannot wait until you are able to reopen on the 12th May for our Chinese food fix! We have been getting takeaways from here for over 30(!) years and NO-ONE does a Kung Po Chilli Chicken as good as you do, here or in Hong Kong. The new dishes have been superb also. Hope you are all well and looking forward to placing an order very soon.

We ordered Beef in satay sauce, king prawns in ginger & spring onions, prawn toast, chicken chow mein.

I lived a couple of doors down from this family run takeaway restaurant for many many years. This is still always my go to place for takeaway Chinese even after moving further away. everything is freshly prepared and cooked to order, the family are friendly and more than willing to adapt the menu to your requirements or tastes. By far the best Chinese for miles around.

Really good food and service.

Food is freshly cooked and finally has a 5 star hygiene rating. However most dishes have a gloopy and pretty uninspiring

Come here every week, ive tried all the chinese take outs in LA & this is my favourite. Great service, great value, good portions.

Inedible, I couldn't eat it. I asked for sweet and sour pork; got giant balls of batter with pork fat inside and a pot of sweet sauce; no veg. The kung po chicken was more like sweet and sour with the amount of sugar except, disgusting. The chow mein was passable but I couldn't eat a lot as the rest of it made feel sick. I should have just eaten the stale bread I have at home and saved £13.80

Have been a customer of The Rice Bowl for as many years as I care to mention. I have never in all that time been disappointed, always more than satisfied. As such would never consider going anywhere else, thank you. Menu C is a real winner, especially when substituting prawn to mushroom.

Im usually a Sun Wah girl, my partner lives near rice bowl so on route home one evening we went here, he has converted me! It was gorgeous and a lot better than I was expecting, Kung Po prawns are a must, and i really like how its decent beef - a lot of places you go to a Chinese i usually avoid beef as it can be smiley and processed - this is good beef and good quality. Only down side is they dont deliver!!

Tastes like and looked like it had been cooked a week ago and pinged in the microwave. Was fridge cold in places! £18 in the bin! Utter jank... FIRST AND LAST TIME!!!

Working in the area and stopped here whilst passing the place looks like it could do with a makeover from the outside but very friendly service and the food was delicious I only had a special curry and fried rice but it was the best I've had in a long time.

This is my childhood home takeaway, and even after many years away, it's run by the same family and still the same, good quality food.

We moved and it was our local Chinese when the food turn up good sized protions but lacking in flavour it was like the sauces had been water down or something sake to say i will not be going back there

Not brilliant. First meal here was good. Curried beef and king prawn (too hot for wife) and prawn toast. Prawn toast excellent. Portions good size. Expensive compared to Worthing. Second meal was D for 2 (special). Nothing special about it at all. The dishes looked and tasted all the same and lacked fresh vegetables, i.e. Red and green peppers to give the dishes colour and some texture. Ribs were ok but just okay. We will not use again.

Pedimos un langostino de salsa de pimienta verde y negra de granos con arroz y pollo al curry de huevo frito y patatas fritas. La segunda comida estaba bien, pero el primero decepcionante, el arroz al huevo frito estaba demasiado hecha y marrón, los pimientos verdes crudas y la salsa negra de granos no muy tomate, más como lo había sido plopped desde una bañera en la comida. Si lo que quieres es barato y rápido, pero personalmente no le vaya a otro sitio ahora

Quick like Chinese food, really nice takeaway please. Easy to order and collect. Friendly people. Food can be a bit salty but has lots of flavour and worth a try.
