Famous City in Arun

Sadly we won’t be using again. Don’t know if the chef was different or they had an off night, but the curry was cold, powdery and not particularly tasty or pleasant, my salt n pepper king prawns were anything but, and the batter resembled polystyrene in texture with the prawns overcooked into chicken type texture. The chips were soggy but at least the chow mein was tolerable. For nearly £30 for 2 people the restaurant needs to seriously up its game. We have ordered from there before a few times and not had such issues so this is a genuine post on an experience which was way below par

The Salt and Pepper squid was like eating cardboard, very disappointing and inedible.

A different kitchen made this food. Very different & poor quality

Have ordered before and wasn’t particularly impressed, but figured how bad could it be… well you can get better tasting food from a microwave meal, and crispy noodles = not cooked. The dog however is enjoying all the leftover meat, which was a generous portion

Was lovely just a shame I called to ask for bbq sauce and still didn’t get it on delivery. Mistakes happen I guess. But food was good

Very greasy, will not be using again

We have ordered food for 5 years our meal tonight arrived 30 minutes late, the chips were hard and cold, the rice was nearly cold and hard the chicken balls we warm worst meal by far

food was excellent, great taste and very fresh. it was delivered early which seems usual for Famous City, I'm not bothered in the least by that. I'd always recommend them, I've been using them for years!

Duck was so dry and pancakes were hard. Prawn balls had a really weird/horrible taste. Meat rolls tasted off. Usually food is good but not tonight.

this meal was completely tasteless we threw most of it away which is a shame because we have been ordering from this restaurant for a long time.

I order from here regularly, however, on this occasion I was disappointed with the crispy chilli beef. There appeared to be hardly any beef in the crispy batter most of it was just batter. Not great!

Great curry, great value and service, travel out of my way to get my food from Famous City rather than my local as Famous City the best in the area.

Took a risk tonight and went off piste - got the set menu B and some Dim Sum. And as always - it delivered. Well done Famous City. Great value set meal and all good. The curry was ideal. Dim Sum didn’t travel well, though didn’t expect it too, but was really good in size, flavour and quality. Another new winner. Yet ANOTHER winning experience at Famous City. It’s been a long and tough weekend, but you bought that happiness back into the last stretch and made it a good one. Merry Christmas.

I’m a regular customer here and usually it’s really good, especially their Cantonese Chicken which is my favourite thing to eat however tonight was pretty awful and the chicken was inedible with a strange taste. Delivery was also late which I wouldn’t really mind if the food was ok but it wasn’t. Chips have been pretty bad quality for a while now, also.

Food was around 45 mins late and was all cold when arrived. Rice tasted disgusting and ended up in the bin. Duck overly fatty where it has gone cold. Spring rolls went rubbery. Overall was very disappointing for the money paid.

Ordered at 19:11, Arrived at 20:47. They delayed the arrival time the second the order was confirmed but what difference does that make? If I knew it would be that long, I wouldn’t have ordered. Not good enough.

Order placed at 6.45ish to be delivered at 8, called restaurant at 8.10 to check and food arrived at 8.30.

Never usually have a problem with the food here but tonight it wasn’t great won ton soup was pretty bland no real flavour in the broth, noodles where oily in the chow mien , also 4 dishes, soup, chicken balls and 2 bottles of coke nearly £50 then you got the 2.50 delivery fee and the 50p for paying by card bit expensive now for a Chinese and you spend £5.60 on 2 bottles of coke and they are the 1.25L bottles that’s a bit wrong and cheeky really

Used to use this chinese religiously, and maybe had one bad order in the past. However recently it seems to have gone down hill slightly, the prices have gone up, and you have so many sub charges for delivery, card charge and for a bag ETC it makes it super expensive! Anyway; tonight’s food was okay, but barely lukewarm in temperature which was a shame

Oh Lordy. It’s too good. I think imma bit addicted and averaging one a week at present. Not sure when I last had an Indian as all I’m doing is ordering from Famous City as it’s so good. The food was great as always, but I didn't get a notification that it was on its way until way after it had been delivered!

Great meal as normal, the only thing that lets it down every time I order are the chips, they where very dry and luke warm like they had been in the microwave.

Amazing. I am forever in your debt for providing the most delicious oriental foods I could dream of. I went off piste and tried a new dish not on my normal rotation tonight and was blown away. It’ll be added to the regular list. Always great. Always on time, hot, good value and most of all great quality. Thank you again.

£37.50 on 5 dishes which had barely any taste and arrived not only late but cold. Tried to call the restaurant several times but the phone must have been off the hook. Delivery driver however was very friendly but that’s all!

Wrong sauce, curry delivered insted of barbecue, meal was very hot despite requesting mild.

Food was alright but we preordered and our food was an hour late. I chased and was told it would be here by a certain time, it wasn't. Had to call the restaurant again to chase, and it still took 15/20 mins after that. Food was nice but not nice enough for the hassle and chasing it took. The restaurant refused to accept any fault or offer any compensation. Very disappointed. Wasn't a small order either. Won't be ordering again.

My Egg Foo Yung was dry the chips were discusting and I beleive had been cooked twice they were like cardboard and the plate covered in fat how they can charge nearly £10 ?is a joke

Tried something different tonight and really enjoyed the special fried rice and veggie curry. Will definitely use again.

Very good as normal, apart from chips that half the bag was hard. Still the best in Littlehampton.

Food was nice enough though we ordered 10 sweet and sour chicken balls and got what I can only describe as a thimble of sauce with this and i mean like maybe 50ml!!, extremely stingy on sauce was only enough for maybe 1 chicken ball. Luckily I had some other sauce in the freezer from a less stingy establishment.

Think Steve, Emma and R went somewhere else. Mine was delivered timely, exactly as I ordered and hot. I’ll kick myself for not getting chow mein with rice noodles and opting for the Singapore rice instead, but that’s not Fortune Citys fault, that’s mine. I’m not one to blame a restaurant for my poor choices. Overall another winner, a life lesson learnt, and thank you to all involved for an enjoyable meal and I’ll 100% be back for more. Best in the area. Lovely stuff.

This is not chinese food. No seasoning at all total waste of money esp when we were tired and hungry.

Good delivery time. Greasy food, will not order from them again, Indian from the little Magna next time.

Ordered at 6pm for delivery at 8.30pm the food arrived at 9.15pm I appreciate Friday is a busy day but given you had 2 hours notice to prepare the food it’s extremely poor service won’t be ordering from you again.

Rice was cold, crispy beef was chewy. Sweet and sour chicken balls came with barely any sauce so the whole meal was dry, definitely would not visit again.

Third order with Famous City and we're dead chuffed that they're so consistently excellent. Phoned in the second order as it had extras and they're lovely people, too! We've found our go-to Chinese food place and we're very happy.
