Nothing fancy about the food, a nicely decorated restaurant attached to their bar, so noise from there will be heard during your dining. We went for the set menu C feeding two people. The duck and pancakes were decent, everything else tasted like oven cooked/reheated food. You may as well get a takeaway elsewhere, paying more here for low quality. Could definitely cook better Chinese at home. The people here are actual crooks i ordered a small wine (£7) when the bill came i was charge (£9), fair enough I did wonder why the glass of wine was so large when they gave it to me. The bill was £61 on the receipt, checking my bank balance the following day, they sneaked £67 from me, no wonder she moved so quickly away from us after tapping my card! Damn, avoid this place at all costs. Zero stars if I could!

After a time we went back to the dragon.not much change in that time. Starters good food and fast. That's when it all went wrong. Being a diabetic I need to eat at regular times. They cleared the table. Had the orders. Then after 20 minutes some hot plates.another 20-40 mins mains turned up. Food good and waitresses rushed around but too long for the food. Unfortunately there are many more places too eat. I won't be going back. Shame that it's gone down hill.

Went for a dinner with the mother in law, initial round of drinks took 20 mins to get to the table. Then another 30 minutes later and our starters came out. Then it took around 1 1/2 hours for only half our mains to come out. Then when we voiced this to them after stating that there had been about 20 takeaway orders come out before we received our meals they said that we were no longer welcome. It would have been quicker for us to drive to the shops but the food, cook the food and then drive back. They then wanted 10% service charge and we told them where to stick it.

Everyone at the restaurant tonight shared the absolute nightmare that was the service. I'm truly disgusted, watching takeaway orders be out in large amounts every 5 minutes after waiting an hour for ours to be served. Paid £275 for food we didn't even want in the end. Refused to pay the service fee and got told I'm no longer allowed back in after today. Not like they'll have to worry about holding me back.

Got a lovely takeaway from here, very clean food. By this I mean that the noodles amd rice were not cooked in old fat, therefore clean. Very tasty

Really lovely, fresh, light, tasty, chinese food. Definitely best Chinese food. Love chicken green pepper, chilli black been sauce, full of flavour, lovely sauce. Light egg fried rice. Dragon special noodles, yummy, lots of it. Always given a lovely warm welcome. They really appreciate their customers. Have eaten in, its oooh sooo Gorgeous! Especially honey chicken snd satay starters. Eating in again soon, but must still have my regular takeaways !!! Good Chinese food is important to me and my family and friends, our favourite cuisine. It was my birthday eat out , we don't have takeaway as a lifestyle choice , I usually cook every day but a birthday eat out is a great excuse not to!!! Phoned our order in around 5.30pm. I am vegetarian and there was plenty of vegetarian choices. The telephone answer was very very busy with lots of shouting going on...I nearly hung up,thinking that they were obviously too busy to speak to telephone customers.... but I eventually gave my order, and was told that our food would b ready to pick up in 20 minutes!!!!!! I got in the car and went to pick up our very local Chinese takeaway food, the first Chinese food we have ordered for over two years because of the very bad food we had ordered from a very local Chinese takeaway ( East Street Littlehampton ) over two years ago on our wedding anniversary, we put it all in the bin it was so awful.😞 The food was ready when I got there, I couldn't believe they could be so quick, all packaged up , ready to go. I got home within a couple of minutes, the plates were pre warmed so we tucked in. Everything was hot, delicious and plenty of it. We finished it off tonight as our dinner, absolutely no waste and no complaints!!!!! We couldn't believe it tasted just as good as last night!! Will definitely b ordering from the Dragon takeaway menu again. Well done Dragon , we will be back!! X X

I came here to ask what there opening times were so we can have a meal , but the woman on the front desk was really rude and sarcastic towards me . I wouldn’t eat here .

Had crispy chilli beef, was very crispy and good chilli, but where was the beef??? Hollow crunch. Very dissapinted.

Really gone downhill. Not been here for a few years. What was annoying is when I looked up the phone number to book the table their eat all you want menu was advertised at £20.95 per head when we got there it £26.95 per head therefore something hadn't been updated. Also we felt really rushed as they were more interested in clearing the tables than looking after us as we were the last table there due to not being that busy. They came to take our order for our mains and we hadn't even had all our starters, she looked at us like we were mad but it was pretty obvious which dishes were missing. The other thing that has gone downhill, the toilets were filthy, the floors and carpet were sticky and generally not a pleasant experience. Will not go back

An excellent lunchtime meal, beautiful cooked and great service, very good value for money.

Walked there. First visit. Very friendly. Good Chinese tea and very good Singapore noodles. Somewhat less rough and ready inside than it looks from the outside.

Having read all the negative reviews I was rather concerned at what the food and staff would be like. Have to say we were a table of 3 and staff and food were excellent. Staff were so pleasant and helpful couldn’t have been any better. So glad we ignored the reviews. I think unfortunately people are quick to write bad reviews that the positive ones get lost . Can only say what it was like when we visited and everything was great.

We used to visit this restaurant a lot when we had a holiday flat in Littlehampton. It was fabulous and we went a lot. Not been since before lockdown but we thought we would go for our wedding anniversary. Wish we hadn't. The restaurant now has absolutely no atmosphere (I remember it had building work during lockdown), it is just one big open room with no separation or space between tables. Everything you say can be listened to by the next table (although fortunately there were few people in - I realised why when the food came). There is also a sort of sports bar within the building now that doesn't look welcoming and a different sort of clientele within. The food was not anything like as good as a local takeaway - the tasteless dried-up first course came within 3 minutes of ordering - and there was less than a small takeaway portion on cold plates. As soon as we had finished, the plates were whisked away and the main course arrived a minute later - very tasteless and poor. We were in and out within an hour - quite shell shocked really. The waitress came for payment as soon as she had taken the main course plates, I paid with a card but she refused to give me a card receipt that I asked for. She told me I didn't need one and it would be on my card statement. I didn't realise they added a 10% service charge on the bill - there was only 2 of us - and will never visit this place again. It's appalling and treats customers like idiots. It wasn't busy at all and I can see why.

My partner and I went for a dinner today We waited around 30min to be served, and the food wasn't nice. We had ribs, very dry. Duck was pure fat, chicken balls and chicken skewers were okay. Even tho we didn't have the mains we paid £80,including 2 drinks. Used to be our favourite place to eat but don't think we will come back

I've eaten in Restaurant, it's superb. However, every week I have a takeaway from Dragon. Food is Gorgeous 😋❤️ always light, full of flavour, authentic and beautifully cooked. Chicken,green pepper and black bean sauce yummy! Dragon chow mein. S/S balls. Satay chicken appetiser is mouthwatering. Staff are friendly and always give me a lovely greeting. Best Chinese food. Excellent value.

Got a takeaway from here as just moved to the area. Cannot comment on atmosphere due to takeaway ordered and collected. Ordered 8 items, 8 items received piping hot and delicious. Highly recommended, will use again. Honey chicken is also recommended. (No free prawn crackers like most Chinese takeaways but the food was plenty)

When you order the 2nd round of all you can eat they make the 2nd lot lot smaller and they charge far to much for a 2 year old that didn't really eat anything?

We always get our takeaways here and have a drink at the bar while we're waiting. Always good.

Very efficient service. We had a set menu. it was more than enough and would ask them to leave something off next time. Having a table for two reserved means we always sit in the same small area. Would be nice to have a variety.

We had a delicious lunch today,we tried lots of different dishes all of them hot and flavorsome. Made to feel welcome as always from Kelly and June and good service from other staff members. It was quite busy today ( mother's day ) which added to a upbeat atmosphere. Well done Dragon 🐉 thanks for a lovely lunch.

If one person orders all you can eat, nobody can order anything else, absolutely ridiculous! Basically being told I will steal other peoples food before anyones eaten anything! Shocking!

One of the best Chinese takeaway

Went here with friends and some of our party wanted the all you can eat which I had looked online before going and saw it was £22.95 on a Saturday when we arrived it was £26.90 plus 10% service charge on total bill . So , I wasn’t happy with that as it means drinks would be extra too then we went to order and we’re told everyone has to have all you can eat so my friend and I said we are small eaters and only want a main and to share a starter but we were told that’s not possible and if we didn’t like it don’t order anything. So we had no choice but to pay £26.90 each but after ordering I thought about it and wished we had both said we won’t order because then they’d have lost out and we still could have eaten some of what everyone else ordered. We ordered our drinks at the bar and brought through wine as I refused to pay anymore extra. I had a very expensive plate of food in a very noisy restaurant

Wouldn't recommend (especially in the winter!). Freezing cold and unfriendly staff. Wasn't a welcoming environment at all. Food was OK but you are made to feel like you are taking advantage of their 'All you can eat'.. told that anything not eaten you will have to pay for (even though you've already paid a high price for the menu anyway!) Definitely not a Chinese restaurant that we will retun to ☹️

If we have Chinese food, it's always from the Dragon. On this occasion, it was a takeaway and as usual was spot on! They don't deliver but it's easy enough to pick up.

Went To the Dragon for lunch , 3 of us . I don’t know how they are still allowed to stay open . It was god awful , the starters were just all deep fried thick chunks of tasteless cheap dried up meat . Prawn toast had curdled white sauce running out of it . Again deep fried squishing with cheap oil . The same with the satay chicken , looked like thick peanut butter with a few old peanuts thrown on top of again chunky tough pastey looking meat. The peking duck again came out already shredded and dried up , tasteless.the pancakes were crispy not soft . I honestly don’t know how they were not embarrassed to bring the food out in this state . Then when the food we hadn’t eaten got removed from the table the bill came . We just paid it because we wanted to get out and not come back . The guy waiter hadn’t even given me the receipt and he said we are closed now you have to go . It was 1400 . Absolutely unbelievable . Poor Rustington never again .

Such lovely Chinese food. So tasty, full of flavour and beautifully made. Makes you still think of it next day. NYEve had a feast of takeaway. Satay chicken skewers were in creamy sauce, loveliest I've ever had. All of it was sumptuous. Been many times, last night was the Best!!! Foods great, service is great, we made loads of questions and people were always helpful. Coming with children is not a problem and would also say that not booking is not an issue. Always taught it couldn't be that good because there are never much people in but this is one of the best Chinese places I have been in my life.

The food was excellent although not the cheapest. The service was efficient. Parking is limited. The restaurant is nothing special to look at but worth going to for the food.

Looks a little like a dive but a great place for food, all-out can eat is order to eat not buffet style and is freshly cooked and tasted great. Parking leaves alot to be desired as the small car park only has space for around 10 cars.

The food is great, fresh cooked to your table. Tasty and quite a substantial men's for an all you can eat. Good value for money at £26 if you can eat a bit 😉. The stars this time though as we got there at 21:00 and was told they close at 22:00 and we thought no problem with that until we hear a chap telling another table it was last orders at 21:30 which was irritating to say the least!

Their website invites you on a voyage of discovery..all we discovered was the worst quality Chinese food....at premium prices.. This place should be cheap and cheerful...instead its expensive and awful....I felt completely mugged off!!

We've read some bad reviews and decided to come here again and see what's what. We're local and have been going to the Dragon for years. The food was excellent and the service was friendly, kind and they were joking and very nice. We'll certainly return.

1st time that we have visited for about 3yrs not as good as it used to be

The service was fantastic from a gentleman that worked there. Our daughter was abit upset and he went out his way to help make her happy and made the evening fantastic.

We arrived at lunchtime today and were the only customers in this large restaurant. As we were feeling sad after the news that HM The Queen died yesterday (we both saw her Coronation on a tiny TV back in 1953) we didn't mind it being quiet - and the food was excellent! "All you can eat" which you order from the menu and it was delicious and only £16.50 per person plus 10% service charge. It is dearer in the evening as expected but even more choices! It is definitely on our list of places to visit again - so thank you and we hope more people will try this restaurant which is a great find.

We went for the option eat as much as you like but we were very disappointed with the food. The chicken satay on skewers were very chewy. The duck was over cooked and we wasn't asked if we wanted either half a duck or a quarter, we were just given the quarter which we would have preferred the half a duck. We then was rushed at the end and one of the waiters just stood over me whilst I was finishing off, we found that very uncomfortable and very rude. A rip off for what we eat.

Absolutely fantastic all you can eat last night! Really friendly staff and excellent portion sizes. I highly recommend the spring rolls.

Nice restaurant with an all-you-can-eat buffet option if you desire. The food was cooked well, and flavours were on point. Portion sizes are reasonable, with little fear of ordering too much if you go for the buffet option. Only downside is the cost per person, however prices do vary depending on what day you visit. It's definitely not somewhere to visit regularly. Our buffet for 9 people totalled over £350 with a drink or two.

Love the food always served good and hot and always served quickly. The all you can eat is great value for money and there staff are always on hand to assist you and good beer looking forward to going back there

I'm disgusted that you are putting chicken in the prawn on toast. Do you not realise that people don't eat meat. You could be sued for a vast amount of money for doing this. Hope you get closed down for this.

You cannot beat the quality of the food of this restaurant in the area, The curry sauce is made by the owner and is perfect, plus you know what is in the sauce unlike many other chinese take always which can be lumpy and rubbish…....

Visited on a Saturday evening with two elderly neighbours. As one of them sat down on a chair it was so rough it sliced into his finger and bled really badly. The waitress brought him the tiniest plaster, laughed and said 'Please don't die'!!!! This chair should have been taken away and replaced immediately, and my neighbour should have been treated with concern and respect, but sadly not. The food was lovely, but the response from the staff at this incident was totally unacceptable

Went to resturant with my wife and two friends for my birthday (79) and sat a table by the window. When I sat down I pulled my heavy chair in towards the table and as the chair was faulty it trapped my finger and tore the skin resulting loss of skin and blood. I told the waitress who produced a tiny plaster and other members of staff thought it was funny to which I was amazed and some 2 1/2 weeks on it still sore, perhaps I should have sued them. So when you go just take plasters with you and be very careful

Beware! On holiday from Australia to see family, and was recommended here. Overall I feel like we have been robbed. Portions were tiny, and was obviously not made in the kitchen only deep fried. The spring rolls were the exact same from Iceland where you get 100 for £1! The wontons were the same but not a single piece of filling, just tied knots of pastry. The prawn toast was chicken! When we told the waitress she said ‘other people say the same and what can she do’ we ordered more and said we want prawn. Chicken came out again. When we thought they were having a joke we told the waitress again that it’s chicken and we arnt stupid. The waitress then admitted that they mix chicken in with the prawn because prawns are so expensive! Firstly if their chicken is cheaper than the prawns, then what standard of chicken are they using! And secondly they can’t just add meat to things without it being advertised, what if a customer is vegetarian!! The service was disgusting and the manager raised her voice at us when we said we won’t be paying over £100 for 3 people as we stopped eating this awful food after finding out about their food practices. They only agreed to take off service charge. Beware, and we will also be contacting trading standards. If I could give zero stars I would.

A bit tight with prawn crackers asked 3 times for more but didn't get any

We went to The Dragon Chinese last weekend, and wow the food was fantastic!! We had The Dragon platter and chicken satay on skewers to start with. Then the crispy duck in pancakes. Then a selection of main dishes. I can honestly say I could eat there everyday as it was so tasty and plenty of it. They were very busy that night and yet the staff were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was a problem. Yes there is a note on the table requesting that you only order what you are going to eat, and this is understandable with the way of the world at the moment. This way it reduces the food wastage. We left extremely satisfied from the food, staff, service and the price you pay. We will definitely be coming back time and time again, and will be bringing our friends. Thank you Dragon for a great night!!

Been going here for many years and it is consistently good. Staff are very attentive and you can even have beer in the bar and watch the football! Good quality chinese all round.

We were on holiday in Littlehampton and a bit dubious about eating here having seen some of the conflicting reviews, but we're glad we came. Food was freshly cooked, hot and delicious. The waiter was friendly and we weren't hurried. Overall we had no complaints...

I used to live close to the Dragon and thought it was a 4 out of 5 Chinese restaurant. I was very disappointed on my first visit for 3-4 years. We wanted to book around 6:30 and we’re told the earliest table was at 8....

Was a bit worried after reading some reviews on here when a friend suggested for his birthday, but it ended up being alright. The food was honestly just above average, other than the hot and sour soup, which was the best I've had and the prawn toast was chunky. We decided to go all you can eat which was reasonable, the portion sizes were quite small but you could reorder as needed. The duck was the biggest let down didn't seem very fresh and it was quite dry - had clearly been reheated. Everything else was just meh, it did the job but didn't strike me as anything special. Overall a decent experience but nothing too memorable, hard to tell if I'll be back. The service was average and probably not worth the service charge.

Food, service and interior rated 4 star. External appearance is 2 star. So don't judge just by that appearance; the food was delicious. Plus points: there is car parking in front and behind, there's plenty of space inside and there is wheelchair access. It's near the sea.
