People seemed nice and it was good we could take our dog in. I ordered fillet of fish on its own as I have a gastric bypass but the fish and batter was so soggy, I was worried it had been warmed in the microwave so only had one mouthful as I was afraid I was going to be ill. The hot chocolate were nice but not enough for us to come back, sorry

We came across this little treasure today by complete accident. The local pubs where closed, and passing by my partner noticed they sold larger. We had a table in the every so shabby arcade outside. However, this was all forgotten by the friendly service we received. He could not be more helpful. We explained his very limited but tasty sounding menu, wanting a sharing dish we had the Shrimps (very big) with fries and garlic bread for dipping into the dish. It was all so fresh and a real pleasure to eat. I'm not from the area, but will visit again next time I'm in town.

We had a great time eating the chicken at caralho, it was prefectly seasoned and the fries were lovely. We will be back! Friendly staff, great prices, lovely Xmas eve meal

Visited again with friends as we have been before and love the food. Yes it's not a flash restaurant, so dont expect it. The cafe is ideal if you love fresh prawns, clams, pork and other dishes of the day. Paulo prides himself on fresh portugese food. The portions are huge, food is freshly cooked. My friends even go now with their friends, one having her 40th birthday dinner. The service is very good. The complimentary croquettes are divine to enjoy before the meal. The wine is delicious, in fact he leaves the bottle on the table and you pay for what you drink. Side dishes are good, great portion sizes. Desserts are lovely. Price overall is superb value. Try putting the name of this place 'Caralho' into Google translate and it'll tell you everything about this restaurant. We found it dirty, overpriced and the owner is obnoxiously rude.

Lovely welcome from Paulo. First visit here, asked about wines and food, good selection. Was given bottle of red, enjoyed a glass, perfectly served, room temperature. Ordered tiger shrimp with special sauce. Whilst waiting we were served fish croquettes, lovely flavour. The tiger shrimp were served with French fries and garlic bread which was very tasty. The tiger prawns were so fresh and delicious. We just wanted to eat them forever. Having left 4 prawns, as just couldn't eat any more we received coconut ice cream. This was very refreshing. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals in a long time! We will definetly return again and again. Even for a take away of tiger shrimp and will try the clams and pork! A lovely cafe restaurant, don't expect much with the actual place or where it is, don't let it put you off. You're in for a treat. It speaks volumes when the other diners were portugese.
