Firebird Restaurant in Arun

Firebird is a lovely place for both good food and friendly staff . We weren’t rushed and had a great chat with the owner. Food was cooked to order and very tasty. Also plenty of it .

We were wandering around Littlehampton debating where to eat and found this restaurant on the High Street. Wide choice of dishes at great value. The waiter was really friendly and the food very good and tasty, without breaking the bank.

Reading great reviews, along we went for a nice evening meal. The restaurant is smart(ish) but gloomy and we were almost the only people dining there. Beginning with Mojitos, everything was wrong with them. The ice (uncrushed) tasted like the freezer, there wasn’t enough mint, only one very thin wedge of lime and the liquid was literally 50% sugar syrup. It’s clear they have absolutely no idea how to make a cocktail and we weren’t off to a good start. Placing our order we chose Firebird chilli Burritos which is one of the mainstay dishes offered by the establishment. Nearly 40 minutes later they arrived cold, furthermore the chef doesn’t seem to understand what a burrito is and had instead apparently constructed sandwich wraps full of cold beans and spinach with a few plain corn chips and a thimble of sauce. The apologetic waiter explained that the kitchen were ‘probably busy’ and gestured across to the empty restaurant. Seeing the confusion on our faces, he offered us a free drink. We declined and explained that we were hungry and intended to leave and eat elsewhere, but he insisted that we stay and await a freshly cooked burrito with absolutely no charge. Agreeing to this offer was a mistake, after yet another half an hour sat waiting for our food, the waiter returned to our table just when we thought our replacement meal was ready and unbelievably asked if we would like him to re-cook the burritos as we had previously agreed. Needless to say we walked out in favour of the nearby Wetherspoons because everywhere else was closed. Firebird is obviously resting on its laurels, is a joke and left us extremely disappointed with both the food and communication. I do not recommend. 1 star is generous.

We had another great meal at The Firebird on Monday evening. We had different choices for starters abd mains and each one was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. It was a very cold night and they put the overhead heating on for us, few other people being in there at the time. 2 visits now and the food has been consistently of a very high quality and reasonable price. The photos were an afterthought. They look messy as we'd already started eating!

Visited as a group of four. It was all ok and the food was good. Halloumi burger excellent as was the chicken burrito. Two of us had the sea bass which was a tad too crispy and a bit overpriced for the size - but tasty and well presented. All desserts were good - churros and cheesecake. The atmosphere let the place down. It was cold temperature wise and there are some odd glaring lights. We had asked for the vegan menu (which is v good) and it didn’t arrive. Had to ask again. Disappointed that they had run out of zero alcohol beer. We did not appreciate the floor being swept around us and felt rushed to leave - was 30 mins prior to closing.

Fantastic food. I will recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat. Reasonably priced GREAT food I wish them every success.

Booked a table for the wife and I to try Firebird for Friday 15th December. We had a couple of tapas for starters - nachos and hummus and pitta, followed by mains of Legend Burger (panko crumb chicken breast) with sweet chilli sauce and Dolma (think massive chicken kiev with a Turkish twist!) Food was awesome. Missus had a lovely cocktail and I had a mocktail. Baklava for dessert too which was a real "ratatouille" moment. Lovely place with a warm welcome from the young lady who took our order. Will definitely return with friends.

Amazing meal, very helpful staff, happy to cater to each individual needs, lovely atmosphere and great value for money, made my partners birthday speacial, thank you, will definitely go again!

The resturant provided a lovely relaxed evening for our party of ten. All the food was delicious and well presented. Prices were reasonable . The service was attentive without being intrusive. Would be happy to eat there again.

My first ever visit this week! My friend and I decided to try Firebird after hearing so many good things and my goodness, it was amazing! The food is DIVINE! And the service was EXCELLENT!!! This is so unlike other food on offer in the area - lovely relaxed Mediterranean/mexican style cuisine - my fave! I ordered 3 of the tapas plates for £12 and there was more food than I could eat! Excellent value. Everything was cooked beautifully and tasted homemade - excellent quality ingredients - and it was presented really nicely. Food arrived fairly quickly but we didn’t feel rushed in any way - lots of time to catch up and chat! The decor is great, everything was clean and it had a really lovely ambience. 10/10!!! Will definitely return - can’t wait!!! Already craving the chicken tacos again! And I highly recommend everyone tries this little gem out!

Fire bird has amazing food and has great customer service it is located in the centre of Little Hampton I strongly recommend going to this place for a meal.

Not going to lie, we went with 4 friends it was very busy with only 1 waiter and a young lady that was obviously training, I felt sorry for our lovely waiter as he was trying to serve all of the restaurant really on his own. Our drinks order was wrong but rectified quickly. We ordered humus with bread only 1 small pita arrived so I had to go and ask where the rest was. When it arrived it was delicious. When the food arrived it looked lovely but my order was wrong as I think the young lady had got it wrong, the lovely young man said don't worry and rectified it by this time I asked them to box it to take it away. Now from my review you might ask why I gave 5 stars. The reason is its fantastic to support a local business in a town that does not have a lot going for it. Our waiter worked so hard and perhaps should have another experienced waiter/waitress to support him as there were 3 chefs and 1 gentleman tending bar. The food was lovely and at a great price and the restaurant felt warm and welcoming. In a country where it is hard to get staff and our high street is depleting I would defiantly go back to support this restaurant. I am vegetarian and they did have a vegetarian menu/vegan (please can we have a plant burger on the menu instead of a halloumi burger) My friend fell off her chair and cut her finger, our waiter was fantastic helping her.

Ate here for the first time tonight, food was amazing, one of the best meals out we’ve had. We had a mixture of tapas and mains and each one was delicious. Staff were really friendly too. Will definitely be back

A great addition to Littlehampton High Street. The food was lovely. The staff very friendly. A nice atmosphere with candles lit. Reasonable priced. We shared 3 starters which were all very nice, especially the hummus with bread followed by mains, both tasty. Give it a try.

Excellent meal - the burger was the best I have ever had - no fat or gristle! The staff were lovely, too.
