I brought my family all the way from Brighton today to check this place out. The food was amazing and the staff is very kind and hospitable. Do not settle for the typical English food, you MUST try the Hungarian/Romanian dishes and their pálinka !

Food is incredible. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Service was extremely friendly and cosy atmosphere.

First time visiting and was blown away by the service and food. Delicious food. Hardest part was trying to figure out what to eat. Everything we tried, tasted amazing and the best part is the gluten free options and the team is knowledgeable. So pleased to have discovered Menu. Highly recommend it, especially if you after amazing gluten free food.

My friend and I went here for Sunday lunch today. Fantastic! The BEST roast we have had. Clean, friendly, fantastic decor/atmosphere and prices were fair. What a place 👏 Littlehampton needed somewhere nice like this, to get a decent roast (or alternative). 100% returning customers! (I think booking is advisable, I booked via email but was told by phone or email is fine).

Littlehampton is very lucky to have this restaurant; the food is both delicious and wholesome and healthy and fresh and the people are friendly and dedicated. They do a great range of steak, seafoods and casserole type foods. If you need to have a ‘gluten free go-to’ that you can trust then these people will look after you. Either they have a great awareness of gluten free alternatives or their recipes naturally don’t require flour, either way, their is no compromise on flavour. I can’t rate highly enough. Thank you for another lovely meal!

These guys have flown me back to my home country (emotionally)! The traditional Transylvanian food are just perfect, but those who fancy more of a British cuisine, you can also find Fish n Chips etc. on the menu. I really wanted to go for one of their starters and they straight away offered me that they can prepare it as a main! The vibe is very chill and, again, the romanian and hungarian feeling is really there. Staff is super nice, I really recommend for those who woke up with a bit of homesick and also for those who would like to visit Transylvania without travelling there! :D

Just found this today whilst walking past. Lovely people and great atmosphere. Food was lovely. Beautifully presented and very tasty.Nice to see such a variety and definitely catering for all tastes. I had chicken curry, very tasty and husband had bouillabaisse which he said was great. All served in rustic bowls and dishes, very attractive. Definitely will go again.

A warm welcome with lovely staff, the food is generous portions and delicious. A bonus that they have plenty of gluten free options on the menu and are well informed so coeliacs can eat here with confidence. My partner had the seafood pasta and was amazed at the variety and freshness of the seafood. I had the pork shank which was huge and has to be my new favourite, can’t wait to go back!

The ingredients were fresh and nicely presented. For starter we had "Hungarian Hortobagyi pancake" and White bait, for maincourse Mussels in creamy white wine sauce and slow cooked pork shank. Complementing the delicious food we had Hungarian Palinka shot made from plum, we were advised to drink it just before start eating,that is how they do it in Hungary. Also we had Hungarian soft drink and dry white wine. There is an extensive selection of Europian drinks on the menu. Wheter you prefer a glass of Hungarian wine, beer, palinka or soft drink you can find it. The restaurant atmosphere was warm and inviting, with cozy, quirky lighting that created a relaxing atmosphere. I must mention the friendly and attentive service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I can't wait to return and explore more of their tempting menu offerings.

We had a great meal hear yesterday and are very impressed with the food and the service we had. I have several allergies and still had a lovely meal cooked for me. The gluten free bread was the best I have ever tasted and the batter on my fish was very light and crispy, and the fish itself was amazing and also very large portions. I definitely reccommend The Menu to everyone who suffers from allergies as the chef will adapt dishes on the menu to suit your problem. You will be greeted with a lovely big smile, and a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable pre Christmas meal with friends and know that they will, like ourselves be back again. My partner and I came in late Sunday afternoon - first time visit. I had the roast chicken and my partner had the steak. Perfect food, really well presented - love the cauliflower cheese as a side dish. The steak was excellent and cooked really well. Empty plates all round.. will definitely be back 👍

What a fantastic place. The staff are brilliant always on hand. The food is beautifully prepared and full of flavour. A great mix of traditional and interesting dishes. Price point is below what I would expect for this level of service and quality of food. Great for kids with a healthy menu. Definitely the best food experience I have had on the south coast in a long time.

This was such a nice surprise! Food is delicious and service is excellent! Perfect place to go (especially) if you’re Romanian/Hungarian and miss the food back home! We can’t wait to come back!

Although it feels like the fish factory revitalised it's still a lovely meal, diverse menu, you're sure to find something for all tastes :-) both had mussels, could have been seasoned a liiiiittle more for my taste but that's just personal preference. The whitebait was delicious fresh and crispy. The wine very good. The staff were very attentive, warm and friendly. Will be back :)

Fantastic food and great value for our first eating experience at this new restaurant in Littlehampton. Just off the main High Street (parking at the back of this restaurant is free but after 6pm ) but in-expensive parking during the day and there is a taxi rank right outside the front for the evening, should you need to leave the car until 8am the next morning ! We all had sharing starters of Camembert with Homemade pickles (could be more pickles) and Whitebait with Piri Piri sauce, all perfectly sized starters. I had the Sea Bream cooked in butter which completely filled the plate , (which I have never seen or had before) each mouthful was a delight with nothing else apart from a small side salad . My friend had the same which was equally impressive with garlic and skinny french fries which to be honest , were not necessary! My husband had Beef Wellington which looked and smelled devine with broccoli , carrots and triple cooked hand cut chunky chip without being over faced . He didn't even share which proves how good it was and my friends husband had the Pasta with Chorizo and Chicken which he couldn't finish which was also unusual, for him. We didn't have pudding as we were so content. Please do not think that the portions were over - sized or too big , they were not at all. The passion and the friendliness of this restaurant is overwhelming and they deserve to do extremely well. We have booked again for Sunday Lunch and can't wait to return ,a lot before they get too busy which will happen ! Even though I am a very difficult customer, with so many intolerances, they accommodated them all with ease . Congratulations to a fabulous team, great food ,service, cleanliness and your lovely smiles and laughter. I have taken a lot of time to review this restaurant and I hope everyone that visits this restaurant , will enjoy their experience as much as we have. All the very best .

Our first visit since new owners & weren't disappointed. Well cooked meals.... calamari,pasta of the day & pork shank. Couldn't eat all the pork so they gave me a carton to take it home.

Don’t often leave reviews but had to as this restaurant is fantastic, the food is excellent the service is outstanding perfect portion size and fair pricing ! What more can you ask for, could not find fault and that is a rare thing these days, get yourselves down there you will not be disappointed, we can not wait to go again 10 out of 10

We were looking forward to a family party on a September Sunday. Unfortunately due to a variety of factors we were unable to attend our original location. I phoned THE MENU in Littlehampton and they were able to accommodate a party of 20 in 2 hours time. The restaurant was very welcoming and the food was excellent, we had a variety of starters, mains and deserts and all were first class. There were other tables taken yet we were all served within a reasonable time and with a smile. The prices were good considering the high quality of the food and wines. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant for any occasion. So thank you THE MENU Littlehampton for rescuing our family party in such a great way.

Pleasant environment, you feel very cozy in this restaurant. The service was very pleasant and friendly and the food exceeded my expectations. Excellent traditional Hungarian food and very nice homemade bread. We are 100% going to go back and try the rest of the menu because it is worth it.

The Menu certainly earned 5 stars. They accommodated a family party of 20 at very short notice yesterday, a Sunday lunchtime. The food was excellent, thanks to chef and team, service was brilliant, thanks to Steve and Suzie. The whole family were delighted to have found this excellent restaurant especially at such short notice. We couldn't have done any better. Thank you and we'll be back.

I rung this restaurant on a Sunday morning because our family party venue wasn’t available because of Covid. I needed a table fir 20 people which I thought would be impossible to find at such short notice. But the proprietor immediately said he could accommodate us. We had a wonderful family get together the food and service was great, we all left very happy.Amazing service under pressure.

It was our first time at the Menu. I had the fish of the day which was perfect served with crispy chips and well cooked vegetables. My husband had the Hungarian chicken stew, the chicken was moist and the sauce delicious. We would heartedly recommend The Menu

A group of nine enjoyed a super meal at The Menu in September. The table allowed us all to talk to each other easily. The wines were well priced and we enjoyed both the red and white that we chose. The starters were excellent. The food was served hot and well presented. The portions were generous but did not over-face us. Mains were equally good. The beef wellington, bouillabaisse and confit of duck were all excellent and the team catered well for the person in our party who requires gluten-free meals. A really enjoyable experience.

What can I say it was amazing really great flavours loads of choice had the seafood pasta and it was gorgeous huge portions I'll be back xx

Always a great meal and a friendly welcome. Comprehensive European menu with weekly specials for mains and dessert.

Three of us ate here last night and really enjoyed the experience. A first visit since the current operators took over from The Fish Factory. Great to find somewhere open on a Sunday evening with a full and varied menu. A spacious interior so that, although busy we could hear ourselves speak. Friendly, efficient service and excellent food. Between us we had Whitebait, Calamari and Bruschetta starters, Sirloin steak, Bouillabaisse and a Hungarian pancake dish ( sorry forgot the name of this) for mains. All arrived at the table at the same time and properly hot. To drink we had a Hungarian sparkling wine as the Prosecco had run out. An excellent substitute. And Bull's Blood and Rioja red wine by the glass. A really good experience all round.

The Whitebait were good. The main meal a little dissapointing. A nice piece of Hass covered in half cooked onions, floating in butter, and I'm not sure the veg wasn't frozen-the chips were. Sorry won't be back.

Large restaurant serving varied menu including Eastern European dishes mixed in with the more mainstream and Burgers . Wines mainly from Romania and beer mostly from Czechia and Hungary. The mussels starter with homemade bread was gorgeous as was pudding in the form of Suzy's cottage cheese and cherry roulade. We recommend and plan to revisit

An excellent meal in very good surroundings. A refreshing change from what has become the usual menu.

First visit and it definitely won't be the last. We decided to try Hungarian dishes and they didn't disappoint. We tried the sharing meat platter for mains. Wow what a feast and a wonderful array of meats and flavours. We couldn't fault anything from the welcome as we entered, attention throughout the meal with dishes explained as delivered to our farewell. We will definitely visit again.

Went with family for the main meat platter and it was superb! This is one of our favourite [European] dishes and it was most enjoyable. We will definitely return and Littlehampton needs a quality restaurant such as The Menu. Thought the total food cost for four at £100 was a tad pricey as the platter is £25 per head.

Fabulous first visit. I had the Pork Shank (Schweinhaxe in Bavaria), and my lovely wife had the curry. Both were excellent. My pork was soft as it fell off the bone. Beautiful. The huge bowl of Chicken Curry was superb too. Not too spicy, but had a Dhansak flavour with Chick Peas. Very nice. It isn't the cheapest place around, but the food was very good. Will be back.

The food was lovely great portion sizes reasonable prices. Atmosphere was good. We had the fish of the day skate and bass, the whitebait and garlic and chilli prawns to Start. Service was really good, friendly staff. I would recommend it.

Such an amazing experience coming here! The Hungarian food was spot on and tasted just like it was from Hungary! The Suzy’s special dessert was the best! The staff were so friendly and helpful (especially Suzy!) and gave me such a lovely birthday experience. Would definitely recommend and would 100% come back again!!!

Five of us went for Sunday lunch. Four had roast dinner one had the trout. All our meals were so tasty you couldn't fault it. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend and we will be going there again.
