The Lobster Pot in Arun

£11 for 2 cans of lager. Staff not friendley. Apart from ,young girl waitress had smile on her face. Feel awkward, old lady with glasses who seems to be boss, made us to feel uncortable, making it obvious that we are not locals and not welcome. My wife and I are in mid 60s not yobs. Not now ordering as can't wait to leave. Just seen some guests eating, asked if there was salt and pepper, was told that they had to get it themselves and directed where it was, unbelievable. Do not touch this place with a barge pole unless your a local. Not lol.

Great place , had the best lunch with one of my best friends . Lunch and drinks lovely , service could be improved. Atmosphere perfect sitting in the sunshine .

Really busy day ( half term ) so had to wait for a table ( no more than 10 mins ). Service was excellent, as was the food and an amazing selection of ice creams for a treat.

Very disappointing. Says they are dog friendly, but this really isn’t the case. Another dog on a very longline lead snarled at our puppy, and because we took him into our lap to protect him, we were not welcome to order as we would not place him on the floor near irresponsible dog owners. God forbid it was a small child. Apparently growling and poorly secured dogs are very acceptable as they refused to serve us and left the other patrons to it. Please think carefully before coming with your dog, their dog policy is not managed appropriately.

The first time I’ve had to write a negative a review. After having been to this establishment a number of times with no concerns, today I was horrified. Whilst we are aware that this is a dog friendly environment, allowing another customer to have a clearly aggressive dog on a full flex lead, snarling at our puppy is not acceptable. However, to then tell me and my partner that if we wanted to hold our dog we would have to leave our table and find somewhere else is ridiculous when the other option would be for him to be in reach of the other animal. (Note there were no other free tables or we would have moved). The rationale was around food hygiene, however our dog was securely on my lap away from any tables. For us to have to leave due to being unable to safely have our dog on the floor is highly disappointing.

Two aspects to consider with my rating: 1. The weather was beautiful so we could sit outside and enjoy the sea breeze and view 2. We visited before half term and therefore no queues for us The service was good and prompt. We both had the seafood risotto which was nice (particularly as it had fennel in it) and the salt and pepper calamari: which was REALLY good! Definitely would come back to the lobster pot.

What a waste of a great location. Dogs welcome but definitely not dog friendly! Average food. Don’t be fooled by the lobster, it’s a lobster seafood mix put back into the lobster shell! Fish and chips ok, fish very dry. Staff aren’t polite either.

Food was okay, nice setting on the beach front but everyone was met with such hostility by one of the staff members. She was so unbelievably rude to everyone, bellowing orders at customers for various reasons (such as standing in the wrong place in a *huge* queue to order) then as we went to leave she barged her way past and loudly tutted and huffed. The table next to us couldn't believe it, neither could any of us and you could see the whole resturant was getting annoyed by her rudeness. Many people had passed comment and actually started laughing at how blatant her rudeness was. Awlful when you consider how much money we all spent. Maybe the staff member in question could learn some manners as it has certainly deterred a lot of people from returning.

What a great find and superb location 👍 Staff were super attentive all the time but not intrusive, fish and chips were spot on and the outside area in the sun afforded great sea views and people watching ops Definitely going again!

The Lobster Pot is a lovely restaurant by the sea, serving wonderfully tasty and creative dishes & drinks. Great atmosphere, and friendly for children and dogs.

Food was great, the service was good too. The view is amazing next to the ocean and we were recommended by a local friend. Mixed age range but mostly mature people so got the odd stare being the only Asian there when I went.

Fab little place. Crab sandwich was delicious!

Last minute for an early evening snack. Went just for a portion of chips but ended up getting crispy squid, a salad, some chips and garlic bread. It was lovely. The staff are great. Highly recommend the lobster pot.

Been 3 times and food has been great on each occasion. The mackeral was great but this was trumped by the amazing fish stew.

Great food, the majority of the staff are wonderful, mainly the younger group. Being snapped at and shouting daft rules and talking negatively about other customers was a put off, even if it is going to be one of those days. Shame really as they have a great setup.

We always have lovely meals here for a very good price. The outside seating has a beautiful ocean view along with spacious tables. You order at the bar yourself and they bring the food to your table, even on the busiest days they are still reasonably quick, i love this place, would recommend.

Stopped for the most delicious meal, the only thing better was the view. Wish it was on my doorstep this place.

Food was fantastic. It was a sunny day so sat outside and stared at the sea, perfect! Difficult to rate the service as you queue up to make your food order but it came promptly. Only improvement I would make it to make the system for seating and ordering a but clearer. I stood by a sign that said wait here to be seated for 5 minutes while others just grabbed tables outside and got in the queue to order!

Perfect place for brunch but be warned, it's incredibly popular and gets very busy, a good sign. I had the homemade fish finger sandwich served with salad and crisps, it was delicious, freshly cooked fish. Friend had the halloumi finger sandwich, again served with salad and crisps, also delicious and other friend had the huge full English which looked, and I'm assured, was exceptionally tasty. Lots of seating inside and out, clean, tidy and efficient staff.

I usually enjoy my food here but Saturday (Sat 12) had Seafood salad - nearly £20.00, consisted of a pile of lettuce with prawns on top. And a small tomato cut in half. Disappointed.

We have always loved the Lobster Pot have been regular customers for many years. Have always loved the Crab sandwiches, so disappointed this week as now mainly salad hardly any crab & £14.99 ?? Wouldn't mind paying the price but please give value for money could hardly taste the Crab.

A lovely place on the beach classic seaside café

Very friendly service and a lovely location - great spot for a quick lunch or tea stop. Food is freshly prepared and a good variety of, although it would be nice to see a few more vegetarian and vegan options.

We stopped here for a quiet breakfast, and boy, did it not disappoint. Service was attentive and friendly. I had wanted the all-day brunch but just missed it as sold out. However, the chorizo with avocado and egg on lightly toasted sour do was amazing. While I felt it was on the pricier side, the food was definitely worth it. I can't wait to back when next in Bognor. Thank you for starting my day off so well.

Food and service has gone downhill rapidly. Overpriced and overrated. Used to enjoy our visit , better places in Bognor.

Just had lunch here (mackerel, mussels and burger ) and it was delicious. Our daughter has a couple of allergies (soya, celery and cows milk ) and they were very helpful with finding out what things were suitable

Simply First Class The food, wine and ambience are outstanding. The location is awesome being right on the Prom.

Excellent. Busy but still very quick to recieve food after order was taken. High quality of food at reasonable prices. One of my favourite seaside eateries. I'm not even local but know of this place from a previous visit whilst on holliday at Butlins. Drove from Oxfordshire on my day off and was well worth it,nice day too🌞

Early morning walk followed by the best granola bowl & coffee

Amazing food unfortunately some staff were abrasive and impatient, a bit on the pricey side.

My 9 year old son gave 5 stars for the best chicken nuggets he has ever eaten.

We ordered 2 coffees and sat outside. I have 2 small chihuahuas who were both curled up on my lap asleep with my arms around them to keep them warm whilst we chatted and drank our coffee. 20/30 minutes later a very rude women (looked like owner or manager) came purposefully outside where no other tables were occupied as it was a February cold day and marched over to us. I at first thought she was just there to take the tray and cups in but she just demanded 'doggies on the ground!'. She didn't even say hello or excuse me whatever.....At first we did not quite know what she meant as the dogs were not even on the outside plastic seats but so small both curled up on me so it didn't quite register what was going on. Obviously with the blank looks on our faces as not quite understanding the situation she abruptly said again 'dogs on the floor it's our policy' and actually pointed down to the gravel as if demanding I stop holding my dogs. She then without saying another word stormed off back inside where also all tables were empty and spoke to another member of staff about us and pointed to us out of the window. My friend and I just sat in shock and couldn't quite fathom the reason for this outburst as it was a cold day, we were outside, my dogs were not touching any equipment only me and are so small they were both warm curled up quietly asleep. They weren't even near a table or chair as I was leaning back in my chair as we chatted. We then just got up and left. Very rude and totally unnecessary and unreasonable behaviour from this member of staff....we will not be returning!

We were just here on Monday during half term so I’m sure it’s busier than usual. The staff are super nice, the food was a good portion and tasty. The view is amazing. There’s options to seat inside and outside. The menu has a lot of options from breakfast/ brunch to small plates and mains. They have a kids menu too and well behaved dogs are most welcome.

Dogs are NOT allowed in the cafe after 4pm I was told by a rather fierce member of staff. It would be helpful if a notice was put up telling people this !

It's more than a local cafe. Varied menu with daily specials. Book for an evening meal. Outside terrace which gets busy in season but there's room inside or in the tent. Yummy.

Very rude staff, and expensive for what they serve. Only positive located on seafront. Don't waste a visit go into main town couple of places much better.

Staff are rude. All are very abrupt and one is particularly "gestapo" mannered. Not a good example to set to the younger members of staff. £4.95 for a glass of tap coca cola!! Ridiculous!!

Stopped off here for 3 coffees after our long walk from Elmer-on -sea today We’ve been here numerous times before for good food & drinks but today’s coffees were very disappointing very bland taste & watered down!

Putting to one side the poor ordering system which results in your warm drinks being stone cold by the time the food arrives, the overall experience due to fine weather was good. If one was to dine inside then the area is cramped and very noisy. The food was of reasonable quality and quite well presented and brought to one’s table by friendly staff. Portion size is reasonable, but any further shrinkage given the price charged would be unwise. The USP of this eatery is the location.

Love the lobster pot, If you fancy a stroll along a quiet part of the promenade or like to walk your dog along that part of the beach.This is a great place to stop and have a Drink and a quick bite (I'm partial to the sausage baps) and it's dog friendly which is always a bonus.

We only had a cup of tea and piece of cake which was very good, so rating is made on recommendations of friends who recently visited and had a fantastic experience.

I use The Lobster Pot regularly. The food is good and most of the staff are friendly, polite and lovely. Unfortunately, one woman who has been rude before was so rude today, I don’t think I’ll be going back. Hopefully, at some point, the management will take notice of the multiple similar comments and do something about it.

A superb cafe in an unrivalled location, right beside the beach in Felpham, Bognor Regis. Seating on the beach or inside.

This venue used to be my favourite cafe by the sea, this visit however I found the prices more expensive. I was service a really small pot of tea for two, when poured there was not enough to fill the 2 cups so I took the pot up to the counter to ask for more water. I was served by an extremely abrupt older lady who told me they couldn't fill the kettle I would have to have a jug of hot water. I explained there was not enough water in the small teapot for two which was just ignored. and a jug of hot water handed over. Considering we spent over £40 on one main and a cup of tea each, it would have been nice to have better customer service!

Very nice restaurant been there twice already in summer and winter time. Food is good and has a reasonable price. Lots of seating space in and outside. Great view from outside seating.

Sea side cafe open all year with guests prepared to sit out at tables by the sea all year long, even though there is heated covered seating outdoors (but not sea view) and indoors. Which speaks to its popularity with locals attracted by its high quality food at fair prices. Really busy in summer but still busy in winter unless it’s really wet and blowy. As an area resident I go all year, and am happy to do so.

Visited this location many times in the past and food is very good. However, having placed my order and carrying a mug of coffee the tables were all occupied. One of the staff kindly directed me to the covered area outside which was fine to await breakfast. Four people were already sitting there so I drew out the chair which was already there and sat at the end. A member of staff then came over and said quite abruptly I could not sit there as “it is a fire exit”. I sId, well if that is so show me the fire exit. After scratching around, nobody could so I said you have two choices (1) a full refund or (2) I stay put. They chose the latter. Total lack of staff training. For my part, I have now chosen not to spend a further penny in that establishment as there is plenty of choice in the same location with clearly marked fire exits. The owners here need to get a life and dump all this health and safety dribble.

Lovely place right by sea in bignor regis. Would highly recommend.

Eaten &/or grabbed a coffee here several times on visits from London to catch up with family over the years. . Doesn’t matter what the season - it’s ideal for all. Right on the beach. Such a great buzzy happy atmosphere with a local welcoming feel. Food is good & varied & if you got room they have sweet treats to match ! Will continue to frequent this local gem for many years to come. Highly recommend to all. All are welcome. Dogs & all.

Most staff are lovely, but 1 older member of staff (maybe manager?) was very rude, really let the team all down, we did not feel welcome at all, Zero customer service. Won’t be back. Such a shame as food and location are lovely but its all ruined when you get such poor customer service.

Good food but some of it very pricey (eggs, avocado and salmon on toast £17.95! 😲). Limited seating inside but other than that, REALLY good oat cappuccino, great atmosphere and lovely setting. Plus a super-friendly, helpful waitress!

Food was delicious , lovely location right by the sea and very close to our hotel. It was very busy unfortunately I found it noisy.

Called in whilst out walking for coffee and cake. Really nice outside seating area, dog friendly establishment. Staff were friendly and quick service. Lovely location for a relaxing drink and watching the world go by 😀

A friend introduced this cafe to me and have been back ever week since!! The best place to go for coffee and breakfast! yet to try the lunch/dinner but everything that comes out looks amazing. The loveliest staff who are always happy and smiley! lovely atmosphere around the cafe. Definitely becoming my regular spot!

Our go too place We live local and often visit We avoid going if we see a very unpleasant member of staff Older lady long hair in ponytail . She rude unwelcoming and we’re at a loss of why she’s still there. Everyone knows she bully’s .

the seafood box was amazing, bit odd no lobster at lobster pot but you can really tell how all the seafood was fresh so maybe lobster wasnt in season yet, guess i'll have to go again

We were walking from Elmer to Bognor & walked straight past this place, thinking it was another coffee shop. We stopped for a beer in Bognor & read up about where to eat & this place came up, so we walked back & it was a busy Sat lunchtime, but despite every table inside being taken, we sat outside & before my husband even got back from the bar, they had offered me a table. The food was plentiful and delicious & the staff lovely & friendly.

Took my daughter here for lunch. The fish and chips was the freshest I have had in a long time, nice side salad and home made sauce. My daughter had the lobster tails and prawn sandwich. Service was the right pace, staff friendly and a nice choice of seating, inside, open under cover or outside. I’d definitely be back again.

We popped in without a reservation for an evening meal with our dog. The service was great and the waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The Lobster Pot had been recommended to us and I had eaten there a few years ago. We had the seafood box -which sounded great, but was a bit disappointing - when it arrived it was extremely greasy and didn't look that great. We both love seafood and have had those kind of combinations in other places - Had I realised the contents were all deep fried I would have made another selection. My husband ate most of his, but the bottom of the little box was totally covered in oil. Unfortunately I couldn't eat mine - which was a shame - as just a little longer to let the oil drain or the selection tipped onto kitchen paper to remove the excess grease would have made all the difference. By contrast the ice cream was amazing! Delicious, generous portions and with a fabulous mango sorbet. If we come again we'll make a different menu choice, and as I said the service and front of house staff were great.

Nice location lovely food very nice service

We made our first evening visit to The Lobster Pot last night. We had booked a table for 8, and our daughter’s boyfriend decided to join us, even though all of the tables we booked, they managed to seat us all together. Food was amazing as usual. I must give out a special mention to Sam, busy as she was, ahead of made sure we were comfortable and looked after

Had some dinner with my girlfriend, i had a crab sandwich which was absolutely delicious and filling, they are generous with the amount of meat i got to say, my girlfriend had the fish n chips and we left extremely satisfied and filled, proper food coma after that
