Great old style cafe/bakery foods good and at a decent price also got some tasty treats to bring home with us very yummy .Definitely recommend we always come here when in Hastings.
Gemma was a fantastic lady provided great customer service very helpful and friendly she was amazing
She went out of her way to get a specific drink and she came with the right drink and gives us a great service
Food takes ages (45 mins at least) unprofessional staff, small food portions and extortionate prices. The food is also very low quality, not worth the price of time
I visited Esquire in Buckingham today, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst coffee experiences I’ve had in a while. My other half had visited earlier in the week and had a positive experience with the gentleman working there, who provided excellent service, including a bowl of water for him and our dog (a much-appreciated gesture, especially as they advertise themselves as dog-friendly). However, today’s visit was the complete opposite.
The service was abysmal. The two girls working clearly had no idea what they were doing. It took 20 minutes to serve two cups of coffee, which cost £8.40 – far too expensive for what was decidedly average coffee. Several customers were visibly unhappy, and I watched them get multiple orders wrong. Their excuse of "there’s only two of us, and we’re busy" didn’t hold water – it wasn’t busy by any reasonable standard. It was painfully obvious they were unorganised and untrained.
The general atmosphere was poor, with a palpable sense of frustration as customers waited far too long. When my other half asked for water, one of the staff, who was on her phone, simply pointed to a bowl without a word – not exactly the welcoming, customer-focused service you’d expect from a local café.
I won’t be returning, which is a shame because I believe in supporting local businesses. However, I can’t justify paying a premium for a mediocre product and enduring unprofessional, unwelcoming service. Esquire needs to seriously address these issues if they hope to retain customers.
Voilà un de ces pubs anglais typiques où l'on retrouve une nourriture simple mais traditionnelle et une ambiance agréable typique de ce genre d'endroit.
Cafe was busy & nearly all the tables were occupied but service was quick despite it being busy, we had a hot sausage roll, crisps followed by a caramel blondie & iced coffee.
Not the cheapest cafe but understand why they have to price items like this.
I would like to see more cooked meals like spaghetti bolognaise, Sunday roasts, fish & chips & maybe curry dishes but still the menu is good enough.
Sorry, ordered the simplest of dishes, Chicken Curry, Egg Fried Rice and a Spring Roll. This is has been our takeaway for many years and is usually pretty good. Covid had an impact, the visible through a window takeaway section had to close and now food is cooked by the sister sit down restaurant next door. The Chicken Curry was awful, the sauce was almost cement like, way to much thickener it was the same shape as the plastic container when tipped out. The Spring Roll tasted weird, almost stale like.
Unfortunately we won’t be going there again as it’s spoilt what would have been a nice evening, TV, Curry and a bottle of wine.
