Worst Chinese meal I've ever had

Poor service they missed out items on our order and when i called them to sort it out they refused. Will not be going here again absolutley ruined our dinner

Fast delivery hot food great sized portions Wasn’t to keen on the green peppers but overall food was good :)

Had a just eat delivery of cod and chips. Best I have had for a long time and glad we have found Mr Lau! We will be returning.

Delicious fish with lovely crispy batter. Great traditional chip shop chips. 5/5 Can't comment on the Chinese. Curry sauce can be hit and miss (sometimes lacks flavour).

Really good fish and chips from Mr Lau’s. I would definitely recommend eating from here - one of the best chip shops in the Camberley area. A nice large, good quality piece of cod cooked just right to order and a good size portion of perfectly cooked chips being nice and crisp on the outside with fluffy potato inside. My only slight criticism is that some parts of the batter were a little soggy but most of it was crisp and it wasn’t too thick. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £10.30 (cash only).

Mr Lau I’m terribly sorry, but that was the worst Chinese I have ever had in my life.

Ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup and got chicken chow mein in water was awful.

I ordered the fried rice and steamed vegetables. There was no broccoli or red peppers in them. The fried rice was very quite bland and greasy. Besides only taking cash, I would not go here again.

A kid trying to pick up orders in a school uniform?!? :) As you enter you are insecure ... Thank goodness they only accept cash and so I didn't buy anything. Read reviews first.

The most tasteless chinese I’ve ever eaten. Sweet and sour in a weird grey sauce. Chicken curry just tasted of nothingness. Maybe they ran out of MSG? No spice in the singapore noodles. Bland. Will not be using again!

Absolutely terrible customer service. Ordered at 18:30 and told it would arrive by 19:30. After chasing it up, it moved to 20:00, then 20:20, then 20:40. Finally arrived at 20:50. They have a child manning the phone as well so it's very difficult to complain! Stop accepting orders if you can't keep up.

Just not really managing. Pity as they try but an 12 (?) Year old boy probably ought not be doing the till and orders. Bit of a lottery as to what you get.

Sweet & sour sauce was very bland and tasteless. Looked like dirty water. No flavour at all. Sweet & sour chicken balls were tough and chewy and had a fish taste to them. All most like they were cooked last week, warmed up yesterday and cooked again today Again tasteless. Quite a lot of Bruised chips too. I think food Quality and control Need to up there game. This is twice I’ve had a bad experience from them. I think the owner should taste each dish that is offered on there menu.

Still waiting for delivery, so far has been hour and half still nothing.

Last night we had a small gathering and had 16 fish and chips delivered have to say it was amazing every single person said how great it was. Thank you so much delivered on time and was still steaming hot

I have always liked the food here but was very disappointed when I ordered a couple of weeks ago. The food was greasy and the sweet and sour sauce was like water. I felt like phoning for a refund.

Never can complain. Food always arrives early and piping hot. If an item is forgotten its brought straight away. We have almost weekly and always friendly service and can never complain about the food. Thank you so much xxx

So much nostalgia with this chippy! Been eating here since I was a kid and whenever I'm back home in Heatherside, I just have to visit my favourite fish and chips shop. Great staff, great food, great time!!!!

Great food and plenty of it A spur of the moment idea to have a treat really paid off. Very quick service and nice friendly staff. Reasonably priced and very large portions. It was all very tasty will be back for more. Worth mentioning its cash only but theres 2 cashpoints arround the corner.

Meaty fish and all freshly prepared but recently service has been poor. 2nd time they got my simple order wrong. I even had to drive back from home as they forgot one of my fish and didn't offer to replace my chips which were now cold.

Great service and lovely piece of haddock and generous portion of chips. Highly recommended.

I wish I’d read reviews. It took 30 mins wait for this rubbish. One of the worst Chinese going. Clearly the best on Heatherside as it’s only one in the area. Worth a drive to Frimley,Camberley or college Town. I’ve had chips from here which are ok as chips go. Fish is greasy. I thought I’d try their Chinese takeaway. Big mistake. So bland. No seasoning no contents. My favourite is Hot n sour soup this was the worst, tasted like corn flour and the contents of meat were fatty and chewy. No shrimp or anything else. Gets worse. House special chow mien. Very bland. Very little meat what was there is very dry,chewy and rubbery 1 large king prawn (tasteless over cooked and hard) no beansptauts or flavour at all. Grilled pork dumplings. Ok. Didn’t taste grilled as greesy, more like deep fried. Filling stodgy like very cheap sausage meat. Tasteless. No seasoning The nicest part was the sweet chilli dip. Probably out of a bottle so hard to mess this up. Total spent £12.20. Price says it all really. Pay for what you get. Never again. Avoid.

NOTE: THEY ONLY TAKE CASH! A Chippy and Chinese in one. Honestly very good. It's the sort of cheap and easy place that is perfect for a chuck out on a Friday night. I got a portion of fish and chips with a battered sausage for £7. Not bad for this day an age in my eyes, and the rest of the menu seemed fairly priced as well. They on my take cash, but there is a cash point outside the Sainsbury's just round the corner. Considering it's a fair distance from the coast, the fish was good, and the chips were lovely. Would recommend. Mr Lau is clearly doing something right.

Was looking for a quick meal for myself and my two children. After finding the selection in the Sainsbury locl rather uninspiring I though I would give Mr Lau's a chance, despite the bad reviews. What a mistake. I ordered haddock and chips for my children to share between them and the box meal thing which was sweet and sour chicken and beef with vegetables and special fried rice. I can quite honestly say, it was possibly the worst chinese, and fish and chips I have ever tasted. The batter on the chicken and the fish (clearly the same type of batter used for each) was thick, uncooked under the very outer layer and absolutely dripping in foul oil. The fish was pretty small for the price,it looked big, but only because there was soo much claggy thick batter. The chips were soggy and limp. The sweet and sour sauce for the chicken was vile. The cheapest nastiest stuff they could buy I imagine. Pure MSG with sugar and vinegar and some colouring and maybe a few spices for luck. It was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I'd ever tasted. The beef, was like beef in bisto gravy with some chinese spices. I only ate some because I was so hungry and I didnt was to waste my money entirely. In summary, this was a terrible meal. I don;t really understand how the chinese people who run it can honestly think that muck was even vaguely chinese. I can't imagine they eat this themselves so why serve it out!! Gross. Never again.

Whole meal was cold and chicken was dry and plain, barely any sauce as well as chicken

Took 2 1/2 hours to get there as they delivered to wrong house somehow, order was missing food and the rest was cold/overdone, would recommend Hot Wok instead, much better food quality and time of delivery

We have ordered a couple of times online. The food is generally warm and acceptable....but the last time we ordered, they took my payment but declined the order (we only found out an hour later!!) So I called the restaurant to ask why it was cancelled, they informed me they couldn't process my payment. I asked why they didn't call me to let me know and they got very rude and abrupt! We have just had notification from the bank they they have taken 3 payments for the exact same amount of our order!! Too much hassle for fast food! I won't be going there again!

The best ever fish and chips I've had and I'm a regular consumer haha absolutely amazing fresh chips!!!
