Fantastic food and service every time I go here, have been using Sakura for 4 years and is hands down, one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The lady on the front always knows what I’m ordering and ensures it’s made perfect for me every time 20/10 rating from us
This Fish & Chip shop is under new management. We have been several times now and it is always perfect.
The chips are amazing. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The portions are large too, so could share a large chips between two people but they are so good you may not want to!!!!
The Fish is perfect every time. Again large size fish portions. The batter is just so light and crispy and melt in your mouth. The fish is beautifully cooked and its all served piping hot.
Absolutely recommend the fish & chips. They offer kebabs and burgers as well but haven't tried these yet so can't comment on them.
Good selection of food and drinks, with a garden and children's play area. They show SKY/BT sports, and have friendly helpful staff. Quiz nights, meat raffles and weekend entertainment.
This place has got to be the worst Chinese takeaway on the island. The food is awful. They use LUNCHEON MEAT! in some of the dishes and cheap ingredients to bulk the dishes out. This place replaced 'The great wall' which was amazing. There is nothing Yummy about this place.
Absolutely awful atmosphere, staff were extremely unpleasant, food was cold and had no flavour, wine was like water, will not be going back and we are locals, such a shame as such a lovely old pub.
Sunny lunchtime so we sat in the garden. Hanging baskets had dried up remains of flowers in them, similarly the pots which have been planted but not watered so everything has died. Everywhere, inside and out looks sad.
We live local so this place is great for us now. A good few years ago it was bad.
Now however under new management, its been transformed. the food the service & the Welcome were all to the highest standard. we we certainly be using the "Killy " a lot more. 5 star & great valuve.
Would like to thank all of the staff.
We got there earlier on the 12 April we stayed in our camper van in their carpark, booked a table for evening meal with a few drinks which was very nice, compliments to the chefs,we also booked a table for breakfast at 9am on Sunday this also did not disappoint, ill be honest I have a few full English but this was the tastiest breakfast ive had.
Thank you Jolly Sailor.
We'll definitely be returning.
Paul and Annie.
AVOID!!!
Went some years ago and it was fantastic but to say it’s gone downhill
Is an understatement! We went this evening for valentines dinner and it was crap! It’s being run by kids who are more interested in chatting with mates than serving paying customers. A few of our issues:
Food was bland and underwhelming. For starter I had “Gambas pil pil” a lovely dish that I am familiar with. Except instead of gorgeous succulent prawns cooked in olive oil with garlic and chilli - I was served prawns with chunks of chorizo in a tomato passata sauce. No mention of the chorizo on the menu btw so good job I’m not pescatarian! Hubs had the hummus which was tasteless, but luckily we were both starving so we continued. Mains were just as disappointing. Over cooked steak and strange garlic butter accompaniment. For dessert, as I’d ordered off the v-day menu I had a desert included which was a few tiny strawberries with chocolate drizzled across the top - described on the menu as chocolate dipped strawberries with jersey cream… no cream in sight.
In addition, at 7.30 on a Friday evening they had ‘miraculously’ ran out of wine glasses so my Merlot was served in a champagne flute. Where all the wine glasses had miraculously gone is a total mystery considering the place was over half empty!
We waited over 30 mins for our mains to be cleared and then had to ask to see the desert menu… there appeared to be 4 deserts to chose from but the bread and butter pudding was listed twice, and we were told they’d ran out… leaving very little choice.
The main guy who greeted us and served us a little was always in a hurry to get away, and when we left the pub after paying a shocking £110, he was sprawled out on the floor on his phone and barely even looked up… no goodbye, thank you for coming.
Oh and to top it all off, the ladies loos reek of stale fags.
Safe to say we won’t be returning and if you’re reading this I advise you avoid the place too!
An exceptional dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The service was attentive yet relaxed, and the atmosphere was elegant without being stuffy. A true gem for food lovers seeking fine dining. Highly recommended
