Favourite pub ever. Roy and the staff are amazing so friendly and helpful. Recommend to everyone great for family evenings and night out with friends.

Brilliant service excellent staff

There was confusion with the order at first as the tables had been moved around and the waitress did not know where to deliver the food, but we didn’t wait too long and it was nice when it arrived. Build your own burger for £5 on a Wednesday was excellent value.

Thankyou to everyone who made a family birthday one to remember. From the relaxed venue with tasty food, to the fun party atmosphere for all ages, courtesy of Aaron who went out of his way to be accommodating and professional even hosting the party girls favourite past time-kareoke. Thankyou it was a night to remember and I would recommend both the pub and the DJ.

A relaxed location to spend time with family members. MJ and Jack were friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was more than fine and being served to our table was very nice. It is a place we all feel comfortable spending time together.

We visited for my birthday meal. We were a large party of 16. The service and friendliness was spot on. The food came out piping hot and we did not wait too long considering the size of our party. The staff were all very nice. Thank you guys We will be back.

Good selection of food and drinks, with a garden and children's play area. They show SKY/BT sports, and have friendly helpful staff. Quiz nights, meat raffles and weekend entertainment.

Absolutely useless company. I have tried to buy 2 glasses. NO result.

Not the best green king pub around. Toilets were a disgrace. The whole place could do with a refurb.

Staff are really friendly and service is excellent. My only gripe is the state of the tables and menus. They are so sticky!!! I don’t know what cleaning product is used but it leaves everything feeling disgusting.

Green Posts is near to us here in Portsmouth. It is a typical Greene King public house. Plenty of seating in garden area. Also plenty in the pub itself. Good choices of food and beers. However on this occasion the beer had run out! Not the first time this has happened. Although this has not been the first time of beer running out.!!We will be probably using pub again as its local to us.

Asked for Mac and cheese without lettuce as it had something on it I did not like and no garlic bread as I don't like that either expecting a substitute but no got a a bowl of bland Mac and cheese and when I asked if I could get chips was told only what's on the menu

Pub is nice and well maintained - with the exception of the male toilets (but kind of understandable, and there may have been a leaky pipe there) - lovely garden area. I only went there for a couple of drinks on a sunny afternoon, and have been going to this pub since I was very young. However - it's nice to sit in a garden and escape the usual racket - and they blast out the most irritating anodyne pop music there. For me - too much - I get some people can ignore grating music not of their choice - but I went there for a (relatively) quiet pint. If you're going there for a quiet drink you're not likely to get it.

Bar man wud not serve me as he was not clocked in even though he was behind the bar then heard bar team on about skimming the tills not a great experience.

WHERE do I begin. After many LATE night phone calls to this pub of constant ringing. I have resorted to this. My family used to run many pubs so not written lightly. The pub garden has their speakers on in the evening its now 10.45 on a Sunday evening and they're are people screaming into a mircophone which is echoed over the garden to the flats. All day people have been using horns also & kids screaming constantly. This should be checked and turned off for then evening past 9pm - no one is in the pub garden either. This building has families young children elderly etc. To make it worse some people work nights and on bank holidays and frequent weekends in the summer have garden parties with music booming to an excessive level. I am having a device installed from the council to record these weekends as its deemed excessive noise. In normal circumstances their are often children out in the park past 9pm and on occasion we have had drunk men shouting up at the windows at the flats. Its intimidating and not right. The pub needs to be more considerate of its location and times of noisiness maybe get stricter with the no ball games sign they have as these frequently hit windows and cars in the car park. Not to mention the annoying repetitive noise a ball makes hitting a wall constantly. They will have someones house insurance or car insurance after them soon. We are hopefully moving soon due to the disturbances, the next people in here will unfortunately have the same issues. Absolutely sick of this & have stopped using the pub due to not caring.

It’s my Birthday so decided to do a not so great pub tour of Portsmouth - and this one was the best of the five visited so far - the last ones chav per sqr foot was 9.4 - the green post scored a comfortable 3.8 - only grievance was a guy in the toilet calling me an ugly racist - however we could get a table - that was nice and the staff were super fast to serve. 9.875 out of 10

Went to the posts for lunch last week, had a brilliant time and the service was excellent! Ryan looked after us and made sure we had an amazing time with you guys, will definitely be making this our local. The staff in this pub really go above and beyond, they are a credit to Greene king!

I used to drink in here over 20 years ago, and I was shocked at what has happened to this place. It used to be a lovely pub and would feel safe taking your kids to, but not now. This pub has been run into the ground and massively neglected. It was a busy night but the pub was filthy with rubbish everywhere, ripped furniture, broken signs, toilets were disgusting, and the pub had run out of toilet paper, so we were given napkins! Bar was dripping in stale alcohol as was floor both sides of the bar. Bar was poorly stocked and ran out of vodka at approx 8pm on Saturday night, the garden looked like there had been a week long festival in it with rubbish and cups everywhere. I feel sorry for the barstaff as they did the best they could in these circumstances. However you could tell they were stressed due to their facial expressions. And what is most disturbing is the fact that a few extremely intoxicated people were still being served despite the fact they could not walk. I witnessed one throwing up outside the pub, another fell into a parked car, and the other staggered out the pub and fell straight through the advertising board and hit her head on the wall. In my opinion, this pub needs to be closed down for a refit and a shake up of management.

Went on a Friday evening,normally just pop in on a sat afternoon with grandkids. Wow what a difference! Average age was 16 and totally wasted . Saw multiple people shoving stuff up their noses and toilets were a hive of activity. Told bar staff and doorman but got shrugged off . Sorry won’t be going back .

Really welcoming pub. Made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Great value for money and the pub is kept clean and tidy.

Had a lovely meal and my son had a fab hour playing in the well equipped play area in the garden. Staff and owners really friendly 👍

Had a very poor lunch on a Sunday. We're sure it was all microwaved rather than fresh. One staff member working well, another one too busy with their phone. This was 6 years ago. I would imagine that you have new management now and that things have improved. The ice crystals in the food were not what we expected but the attitude of the barmaid was what really upset us.

This is great pub and a perfect local, the staff really welcome the whole community, the landlord has turned it it to a family friendly pub and has turned around the pub’s reputation. Always seems busy with a great atmosphere. Can’t wait for the big summer Ever this year, well done everyone to Staff Also everyone the meals are two meals for 11.49 And Sunday meals are great value Was there last night and everts seems to lo love the free juke box Fridays Great night everyone. Had a lovely evening out celebrating one of the girls birthday. Food was lovely & hot & tasty. A great evening laughing in a relaxed atmosphere.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the new year. They could not have done a better job. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff and other party-goers were so friendly and welcoming that it made the night really special. I didn't want the evening to end! 12 of us had Christmas dinner and it was very good. The food was lovely and hot and the staff were very efficient and friendly we would definitely be eating here again.

Booked a table but the place was so busy, the member of staff had to hunt around for one. The menu that we'd hoped for wasn't available, just one of those things. However the bar man was very apologetic and polite but we didn't get our food. Have been at a less busy time and it's been fine. Just unfortunate this time.

Came for a Christmas drink with friends, I live up north now so we were really looking forward to catching up with friends back home. My bank card fell out of my pocket while I was at the bar unbeknownst to me, and about 20 mins later a group of girls used my card to buy drinks with it. Thanks god for Notifications! The delightful girl who'd stolen from us admitted it when questioned and claimed it was a 'joke'....I approached the landlord who agreed it was fraud, but when I pointed out the individual who had done it, he changed his tune and said "well times are hard for everyone, prices have gone up so you cant really blame her can you?" EXACTLY, prices have gone up which is why we could have done without a round of drinks being illegally taken from our account. Very badly handled and left a nasty taste in our mouth. As a licensee myself I can tell you that girl wouldn't have been in my establishment much longer!!

Well what a change in the pub since June 2022; the landlord Roy has done wonders since taking over as management, Introducing new events, raising monies for good charities; music, quiz evenings and the return of the meat raffle. What i have noticed is that the staff are much happier and work as a team; they are always helpful and work extremely hard during peak times. I had invited some of my family from Pagham to join us Christmas eve; we had a fun, joyous evening dancing the night way. Roy circulated with customers and the evening was a success; Roy is calm and professional to deal with incidents that do accur when unfortunately some people have too much to drink. Christmas day we popped in before going to our family gathering, the landlord and staff were happy to serve with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for them. We looked around, they had decorated all the tables ready for the Christmas meals booked for the day. Christmas music and a great atmosphere. Great to see this pub brought back to its formal happy and friendly self. Thank you for your service and hard work everyone.

Visited on Xmas eve, pub was busy, staff working hard and efficiently. Many locals in there enjoying there pre Xmas drink, landlord was working hard, liaising with customers etc.

Really lovely manager in there and a great team of servers. We went in Xmas eve for drinks and ended up having food to. Good grub and the pub had a nice atmosphere.

We have been coming to the Green Posts for a while now and over Christmas we had breakfast with Santa with our 6 year old and friends and also celebrated our Christmas Eve here. The food is fantastic and the staff are amazing. Roy, MJ and the team always go above and beyond to make the customers happy. Would 100% recommend a visit and we will certainly be returning! Been here several times , Christmas Eve and today. Both times great atamiohere and service. Come to this club for 8 years and it’s Best landlord and bar staff since I’ve been coming here. Long may in continue.

Haven't eaten here yet so can't comment on food but absolutely awesome pub. The staff and landlord so friendly and welcoming we always have such an amazing time whenever we go. Usually only pop in for one but end up staying for the duration. Would highly recommend

Had a really great experience on Wednesday, thanks to Pam another colleague and Ryan. Had a table booked for myself and my auntie but didn't realise that we needed pre book mini Christmas fayre. However, nothing wasxtoo much trouble for these guys. Food was delicious and piping hot !! (Big tick) Only a little thought, need to put a lock on ladies toilet door. Many thanks for making our day special Big Well Done !!

Went for a family Christmas meal with 32 of us, on a Friday night.Was very friendly and welcoming. Quick and efficient service nothing too much trouble. Food was good especially as with so many at once. Deffo come again.

Todays Christmas lunch was very disappointing. 16 of us had the set festive menus and majority of us weren’t happy. Veg hard and cold meat tough couldn’t cut even using a steak knife. Service wasn’t very good either had to wait for gravy and custard till food was cold. Only good thing was the company

We had our leaving party here and were able to hire out a section of the pub. This was great as loads of space and DJ was already there on the night!

We went to have a quiet drink after a long day at work , music was SO loud! Before the family groups stayed at the other restaurant end of pub, now there are kids everywhere. I have kids! But I don't want them in my face when I go for a Friday night glass of wine after work frankly. Then not being able to hear what my friends saying.....

I didn't have any food. Sometimes you have to wait a long time to be served as not enough staff serving. Needs a refurbishment looking very tired.

Food was great all staff so friendly coulsnt be more helpfulwent for a family dinner night and was lovely definitely recommend 😊

We came in a few weeks ago for a couple drinks, cracking entertainment and great vibes. Everyone behind the bar was having a good time nice to see in a pub. Drinks were nice and cheap and the food was awesome, they were very packed but service didn't slow down amazing job. Definitely be coming back 👍

Went to the summer party this weekend - really well organised staff brilliant as always and drinks and food top notch. Nothing too much even when rammed and the entertainment is first class - kids kept more than amused and there’s a real buzz about...

Wow! Came in for the women’s footie final and decided to get some Champagne as commiserations. The staff went above and beyond and got us strawberries to go with it, didn’t need to! Great service and customer care. 5stars!!!

Gathered the family for drinks and a bite to eat. Lovely, lively afternoon with friendly customers and staff, decent food delivered promptly and plentiful! Even the kids party taking place in the garden didn’t intrude too much due to the sheer size of the place....
