i can’t thank the staff enough today, especially Michelle and Charlie for their amazing understanding and help with my asd daughter’s struggles and needs.

We checked out £8 chicken Tuesday. Great value for money. Thank you to Ruby for the awesome customer service 👍🏼

Nice friendly staff and modern decor. Quick service and well sticked salad bar

Lovely meal, good service too. As we went on a Sunday we were treated to David and his balloons. My husband received a copy of himself made from balloons and my daughter a wand. Food is reasonably priced and despite the high turn over due to it being Fathers Day, the staff were polite and our food was prompt.

Niamh was very helpful and went above and beyond. Good food 🍗

Was served by Niamh when we went for a work night out, very funny and happy made us all feel comfortable and relaxed, quick service, food was amazing and the drinks were even better 🍸💯

Had a great visit to Harvester this evening. The food was fantastic as always but the service topped the evening. We were greeted with a warm welcome, the service was prompt and Kay, our waitress, was super friendly and attentive. Have visited here for many years and will return for many more as it’s a lovely restaurant with great views that overlook the water and friendly staff.

Went there for breakfast this morning as meeting some friends who were involved in the car meet. Sat outside as we had dogs with us but service was just as good, friendly staff and great food. Will definitely be going back.

We were a walk in booking for 7 this morning for breakfast. There was no problem fitting us in and arranging for us all to sit together. Breakfast was great quality and something for everyone on the menu. Our server Natasha, was really friendly and accommodating with our requests. Re fill teas and coffee was great value and we also got a 25% discount for downloading the app. Great value for feeding 7 of us. The sausages were particularly tasty and good quality. Location at port solent is lovely and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

Food was lovely, the wait time for food was good. But the thing that made our visit worthwhile was our waitress zoe, she was so friendly and nothing was too much hard work she went above and beyond for us and all surrounding tables even at a busy time. She’s a great assets to your team.

The food server was lovely and patient with us (we were a group of 8 with 1 elderly and 2 children). Everyone was nice, the food was good. Cant really complain. We arrived earlier then our booked time and the staff catered for us nicely.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. Only thing is portion size of childs meal is tiny and needs to be adjusted as 2 chicken gojouns is not enough for a 12 year old. Also kids eat for £1 watch out as the kids desserts arnt included have to buy separate and dosnt say this on the terms and conditions.

Niamh took great care of us, was very knowledgeable of catering allergens as my friend is gluten and dairy free. He had a great sense of humor and obviously takes pride their job. Food was piping hot and tasty, did not have to wait long despite being rush hour. Good portion size and the restaurant was very clean. The salad was well stocked and fresh. All in all a great experience will be back, is much improved from previous experiences.

A loyalty card scheme might be useful. As a family some had recently visited elsewhere. Great staff service, nice clean surroundings and good food. Whoever cut the onions needs a sharper knife, a bowl of red onions might be good as well.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and have always found the food lovely and good service. A big bonus with Harvester in general is that they give you a bowl for the all-you-can-eat salad bar while waiting for food. With 3 impatient children, telling them they can have all the salad they like to keep them occupied is great!

Visited harvester tonight with family, so disappointed, my partner had the gammon and chips. The gammon was so small you had to move the fried egg on top to find it! Mine and my daughters 8oz rump steaks where so dry and over done, could taste nothing but a strong charcoal taste, accompanied by a handful of Shrivelled up peas and the smallest onion rings, tomato and a single mushroom I’ve ever seen. The only thing really edible was the chips. It all just tasted really odd. We had a 9 year old with us who ordered the pizza and chips and it was so hard we couldn’t even slice it for him. A £63 bill and All we got offered was a refund on the kids meal. Actually disgusting, won’t be returning.

Cannot fault our Server - absolutely lovely. Over priced considering other places I have eaten. The only decent plate was the mixed grill!

We had a family evening out. Myself, daughter and my sister. We had starters and mains as I always find the puddings too expensive for what they are, in any restaurant. Starter portion sizes were adequate, food was served quickly, was hot and very tasty. Salad bar was well stocked, was clean and our main meals arrived in good time. Our server was attentive, kept an eye on our drinks, asked how or food was and cleared our table quickly when finished. She even.made some time to chat about our evening afterwards , she was really friendly.

Still sitting here at the table as I write this. Went for the 3 course set Easter menu. My wife was happy with hers, but mine was absolutely awful. Breaded mushrooms starter overcooked and full of grease. Main course bbq chicken stack totally overcooked and like shoe leather and chips that looked boiled rather than deep fried. When I complained very politely I was offered a free pudding which was already part of the 3 course meal. Finally got to see a manager after asking several times. Perhaps Harvester need to do some further staff training as they were totally unable to satisfy my complaint. Was then given a polite #### off of a reduced bill. We both weren't offered or given the opportunity to have a pudding. I'm now leaving the place feeling so let down and disappointed. This is an update on my previous reviews which were always good.

Really gone downhill service was ok but management rude and young staff as well food was empty by salad bar rolls are like bricks won’t be going back in a hurry.

We didn't eat but Ruby came over to take our order. She was very friendly & looked after my friend who wanted an extra special hot chocolate which she went out of her way to deliver

I won a mother's day meal for up to 4 people. I was able to add an extra child and just pay for childa meal and drinks. We were greeted and the serving lady was expecting us, we had a lovely big table. She was extremely attentive throughout and we were all impressed with the food quality and taste.

The gammon egg and chips was dry and chewy to little bits off gammon

We have in the past visited the Harvester on the Eastern Road, but after a bad experience last time, I looked at reviews for The Mermaid. They were really good so decided to give it a go! It was very busy. 4pm on a Sunday. However, although the service was a little slow at first, this dramatically improved. The food was lovely, with the exception of the rump steak which should have been ‘medium’ but was very well done. This made it very dry. The food was piping hot which is very important to me. 2 desserts were ordered, 1 adult and 1 child. The child dessert was served in a white ceramic bowl whilst the adult dessert was served in a lovely glass dish. The child was upset so a glass dish was requested, which was very quickly provided. Thanks for our server. Only issue was that the table was in the beautiful sunshine for the entire visit, which made it very warm. It would have been nice if there were blinds. We will definitely return. With the 25% discount off the food bill, it was very reasonable.

This has got it all, great food and drink at good prices really nice atmosphere and if you have a motorhome you can stay the night in secure carpark..

Very nice restaurant with great views. Only had a drink as was a quick pit stop but food did look very nice, maybe next time I will order food.

Our initial table wasn't ready in time so the front of house staff gave us a wonderful table upstairs overlooking the marina. They made Mothers Day very special and the staff were warm and welcoming.

Our waitress seemed new and nervous but very nice (despite my impatient husband who possibly threw her off kilter by asking for the drinks her thought were ready to be brought to us but weren't - sorry about that!) Food was great, service was a little slow as things got busier and tables could have been cleared down quicker - but again busy Saturday night, so understandable. All in all, it's what you expect from a harvester on a Saturday. They were great at accommodating for the member of the family in a wheelchair although I would ask that wheelchair users not being sat by the drinks machine because it means people leant on the handles of the wheelchair as they walked past/waited for the drinks machine/bumped into the wheelchair which was not a great experience for that family member, though I can see how that is something that might not even have been thought of. It's not until you're actually in or with someone in the wheelchair that you see this. Many thanks 😊

Staff - great!! Very attentive, chatty & hard working. Food - good for the cost, apart from the chicken was dry & tasteless. Only had the main course.

Fun night out, waiter was very helpful. Food was great as per normal. Staff in general could not have been more helpful..

Ordered rocky horror and got a fudge cake in a Rocky horror bowl with ice cream and cream. As soon as it came out au showed my husband and said it looked like a chocolate cake, Had 2 mouthfuls when I knew it was 100% a slice of fudge cake. I politely asked if it could be removed from the bill as it was wrong and we didn’t have the time to wait for another one to be made with the children starting to get itchy feet. The waitress Kay and team supervisor Caitlin argued at me in front of my children telling me I was wrong. I have never been humiliated and made to feel so little in any restaraunt. Clearly they need customer service training. The supervisor even slammed the pdq machine on the table walked off and said “I’ll leave the card machine there for you to pay your own bill!!” I was then left holding the pdq machine stood by the till and ignored by both the waitress and supervisor for 15mins. Absolutely disgusting. Id like to add I was not asking for a free meal, I was just asking for the rocky horror to be taken off the bill as it was WRONG! The way I was made to feel and was treated anyone else would’ve walked out in anger, instead I was stood there waiting patiently with a card reader in my hand! It comes to something when as we walked out my 5yr old daughter asked why the 2 ladies in the restaraunt were being mean to mummy and daddy! She then started to cry!!- Thanks for that!!! Chris however, was absolutely fantastic- joking with the children, saying “Tadaa!” To tables with kids, asking children if they could catch their meals- absolutely amazing service. Maybe Kay & Caitlin need to watch the way Chris serves customers and have some training from him. Well done Chris!

Ruby our waitress was slightly bizarre but very funny! She had a great sense of humour and made a busy night there funny. Food was lovely. The bbq chicken stack was the great classic that it was and my friends burger was also lovely even though it was busy.

So my wife has a very rare allergy, and the respect and care that the manager and staff went to to make sure it wasn't an issue was as amazing as the food it self! Absolutely would go back again!

I was looking forward to a full English breakfast but was very disappointed, when it turned up the bacon was cold the eggs were hard . When I complained the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and had a no are attitude, that's the problem with having young staff they just don't care. Had the same breakfast at the Whitley restaurant it was lovely the food was hot and the staff were lovely. Will not use port Solent again.

The staff were really helpful and polite. The buffet was excellent. The upstairs venue lent itself to a 70th birthday where most of the people hadn't seen each other for years.

Excellent Harvester. Great food and friendly helpful staff. Bit of a trek from the car park and on 2 floors with an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Lovely views over the marina and all the posh yachts.

Not been for a while and a lot has changed. No more build your own breakfast 😪. Also said 2 slices of toast with each cooked breakfast, it was 1 slice cut in half. Prob wont visit again for a while

I took my elderly mother here for lunch. Which is fine. Buy we were seated in the bar area, and were made to feel out of sight out of mind. Despite being busy, there were still empty tables in the main restaurant we could have been offered. We won't be back in a hurry 🤨

Let’s be honest, fabulous food and super staff? Now that’s a recipe for success as Port Solent Harvester has it all. The salad bar is always stocked, the food is always on time and the staff are always available to lend a friendly hand. We’ve been visiting for years now and NEVER ran into an issue. Whether you have dietary requirements or accessibility difficulties, there is no job too difficult. Despite all members being on perfect form, some honourable mentions go to Kay and Niamh which always manage to excel beyond helpful and welcoming.

I was looking forward to my breakfast and I was disappointed, the food was cold . I complained and the waitress didn't seem to care, she just picked the plate up and took it away. After waiting for 30 minutes the plate came back and it was a waste of time the food was still cold and when I mentioned it to the waitress all she said was it's been sitting around . I think it's disgraceful service is a shame really because the harvester at Whitley is 100% better I couldn't complain at all they were great a.nd the food was hot and cooked perfectly.

Very warm welcome on a cold evening. Allowed to bring our small dog. Delicious dinner and excellent service in lovely surroundings .

A nice enough place to come, can get very popular in the warmer months so I always book, just in case. If you're eating outside try using the app, you can order food and drinks and also pay with it - saves time and any potential wait at the end of your meal. Staff are friendly and helpful, I always find the salad bar well stocked and it has enough of a range to make sure my fussy lot have plenty to choose from. That's the same with the menu, a lot of range and the burgers and chicken are usually excellent. Pasta can sometimes be a bit hit and miss, and someone might have a word with the management about the paucity of chips, but in general it's all good, tasty food. As it's Port Solent there is plenty of parking etc.

Service good. Disappointed that it didn’t have the chicken we wanted. No overly busy for being short of food, especially as we were early on in the dinner service.
