Real pub. Hidden down by Ashlet creek, you wouldn't happen on it by accident. Good food, good beer, friendly and warm. Dog was welcomed too.

Slow bar staff but not expensive and great live music venue and nice sea views

Headed down to the Jolly last night with a few family members and had a really enjoyable experience. We had the pleasure of being served by Jamie who was very helpful throughout the evening. The food and drinks were very nice, who doesn't love a TCC.

Love this place .....proper locals pub, fantastic for a walk in the woods by the sea and a well deserved pint on way back

I cannot speak highly enough of the Jolly Sailor, excellent staff, excellent beers and excellent food.

Beautiful location with a mill and small pier next to it, the food is good, the staff is friendly and courteous and offers good service

La comida era muy buena y la joven que nos sirvió fue muy servicial. Mi marido es un comedor muy quisquilloso y ella se aseguró de que su pedido estaba listo. Ambos estábamos muy contentos con nuestra comida y también probamos su cerveza pálida. Con todo, una velada muy agradable

15 QUID for this was an actual travesty And to top if off you have to go and collect the food yourself I think the management needs to have a proper sit down and re think on what they are offering people because this is an actual joke The girl behind the bar also played with her septum piercing the whole time she was serving customers 🤢 🤢 🤢 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FOOD AT THIS PREMISES

We came for the Soap Box racing. A great event for all ages. A Pub with surely one of the most beautiful locations in the county. A real hidden gem 💎.

Lovely meal. Very friendly staff. My husband spilt his beer and they wiped it up with a smile and a joke and brought him another one. Certainly be back. Lovely setting by the sea

Food not that good.Disappointing

What a fantastic location! Been coming here for over 12 years and seen it change a bit Unfortunately the beer is terrible but the food is good I believe (only ordered chips). When I say the beer is terrible I am referring to the bland national offerings and not the actual quality of product. Nothing local with good flavour, for example. Service was poor and mainly kids running the bar. Ordered a simple 2 portion of chips and one was reafy in 5 mins but they had no memory of the 2nd. 15 mins later I got them somehow! Such a shame. This was on Sunday about 2pm. However, the food and drink prices look to be unusually low for this part of the world 🙂 Give it a go for the location and potentially good food. Bring your own beer though and don't expect local products 😆

Gorgeous location nestled next to the water. A Friendly dog received atmosphere with outside seating. Would recommend.

Solid grub at a pub by the solent. Kids, adults and olders enjoyed the view, brew and grub. Entertainment via crab catching too!

Allegedly the hunt of smugglers, this remote pub, at the end of a country lane, looks out towards Southampton Water. The old photos show it has been extended out the front, probably due to it's popularity. The disused water mill and tidal mill pond are still in the background. Some nice beers and a good pub menu. Friendly staff

We fell on this pub this afternoon after googling where to eat. We had an amazing meal with great service and a lovely atmosphere We will definitely be back with the whole gang.

Hidden gem with great food and friendly staff

Good honest no nonsense pub in a great spot by the water. Great food at reasonable prices and friendly helpful staff.

I called & booked a table for 3. A few days later I called again to alter the time of booking, for the loverly lady this wasn't an issue, arrived, seated and served with a smile. Loverly staff and great food! Will return again for a walk aswell when the weather permits.

Awesome motorhome stopover. Haddock and Chips was perfect at only £15. Tempted to stay another night. Excellent location and awesome staff.

A lovely pub in a beautiful setting, good cho of food and our fish goujon sandwich and chips was amazing. I would heartily recommend this pub.

It's not a big menu but the portions are big, the quality is good and prices are fair. Some good music events here too.

4 adults enjoyed our lunch. Food good. Service great. Lovely ambience with blazing fire to keep us warm. We'll be back., 😀

Lovely pub that allows pub stopovers in a van. We didn't stay in this occasion though. Fab location. Staff friendly. Food was great. We played some d school pub games whilst there as well. Hope to come back and stay over for the night.

Very disappointing food and service - probably fine if you’re after a bowl of chips and a beer but don’t go for the Sunday roast. Shame because it’s a nice pub in a good location.

Had a great meal here . Menu was varied. Food was cooked fresh & well presented.Steak cooked on a stone was delicious. A lovely log fire was lit & warmed both sides of the pub.Staff were very polite & friendly. Will definitely be back.

What an amazing pub this is. Nothing to complain about in any way whatsoever. The staff are great and very efficient and friendly, the food was good and the prices were bang on point. We were a large group of 14 people and we provided the food order ahead of time. All the food came out as ordered and was delicious. Great spot and even allow people to stay over if need be (some of us were in our campervans). If you want good ‘clean’ food then you can’t go wrong - the pork shank was HUGE and a lot of us had the lamb shank which was very well cooked and tasty. Brilliant evening all round. I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic gem of a pub, comfy, warm, subtle lighting, Roaring hot fire too! Had artichoke soup for starter, made by a 14 year old chef ..was the best soup I've tasted. Had steak on a lava stone for main and my partner had the lamb shank..both were absolutely outstanding and the welcome we received from the locals and staff was so good. Proper English pub. Highly recommend!

This is a great little pub with a view of the old harbour. The food is standard pub fayre. They offer a decent range of drinks.

Tucked down a narrow road at the southern end of Fawley the Jolly Sailor has been a local favourite for many years. Often has live music and you can sit outside. Best when the tide is in a bit as at low tide Ashlett Creek is a bit muddy to look at , but beware of Spring tides as the car park and quay get flooded. You can walk from her to Calshot.

Lovely local pub. We only had cheesy chips and a drink but they were lush. Friendly service and live music.

We visited here due to the water shortage at home, making cooking and washing up tricky. From arrival we were made very welcome. The menu had a great choice on it and at reasonable prices. The sausage and mash was really nice and ideal for a cold day. My husband enjoyed his chilli. The chocolate bread and butter pudding was amazing and loads of custard too. The pub had a really nice feel to it and we will definitely come back soon.

Very friendly 170 year old pub in a quiet, quaint, secluded, sweet, charming, pretty creek! People very friendly here, I've been coming to this area throughout life yet never come across this hidden gem before ! They told me they've got a history "back to blackout" candlelit evening 🌆 on Sunday 26 November '23 so I might return for that!

Fab little find. Great range of alcohol and freshly made food that tasted delicious, set next to a small port with lots of lovely walks around.

It's one of those pubs where you feel like a tourist with the locals watching you. A bit confusing on entering as to where the dining tables might be. OK when you get your bearings and we would go again for the superb and reasonably priced meals and good service.

After walking from Ashlett Creek to Calshot and back, our walking group went into the Jolly Sailor for a meal. I had the full English breakfast, it was delicious . The service was excellent, made to feel very welcome, great atmosphere.

Enjoyed a Sunday roast lunch. Very good. Friendly atmosphere and excellent Doombar on draught. Lovely walk to get there from Calshott. Interesting place with tide mill and harbour.

Disappointing food, sent lamb shank back twice as tough as old boots!! Was offered an alternative, but my husband had finished his meal by then, so I had given up! Clearly not homecooked food, at best it is 3663 or similar.

Superb pub nicely situated with a friendly local atmosphere, really good honest food keenly priced, thoroughly recommend the roasts with extra gravy given as standard. Lots of great events too such as their own Oktoberfest. Definately worth a visit if you are anywhere near the area

So pleased to know that the chef will be back tomorrow after her well needed holiday so all will be well at the helm.

Lovely water front pub, stopped there on my way back from the Calshot castle. The roast dinner was okay, the chicken was dry, and I did yind some pink inside. The roast potatoes some were still hard in the middle. Although the veg were cooked to perfection! The staff looked rushed of their feet.But overall, it was a lovely pub. I would return there again,just not for lunch.

Fish and chips a 2 pints nearly £40 . More batter than fish , as spoonfull of peas and 11 chips . Wow won't be going there again £20 a person !!!!!

Really expensive, very cold, no atmosphere.bit of a dive.

Handmade burger was quite small, roll it was served in was at least twice as big and not toasted. Very little cheese and very small portion of chips. Despite the previous good reviews yesterday was not great and would not rush back. Also loads of flies inside and our table was very sticky, the waiter struggled to collect the menus as they were stuck down. Won’t be rushing back, it’s a shame the business doesn’t take more pride

Decided to take friends out for lunch this Sunday at the jolly sailor, on arrival the bar staff were so friendly and attentive, food was fresh hot and appetising, haddock and chips were perfect, my cheese and ham salad was a great choice, plenty on my plate👍, this combined with an amazing setting you’ll be hard pressed to find a more perfect watering hole 😊, will be back again 🙌 and would highly recommend, well done the jolly sailor team . We visited this little traditional sailor's pub whilst on our travels. Lovely, welcoming staff made us feel welcome and we enjoyed some tasty veggie burgers which came in huge portions. We stayed overnight in our camper on the pubs carpark- easy enough parking. Would definitely come back :-)
