Bryant Road Fish Bar in Medway

This Fish & Chip shop is under new management. We have been several times now and it is always perfect. The chips are amazing. Crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The portions are large too, so could share a large chips between two people but they are so good you may not want to!!!! The Fish is perfect every time. Again large size fish portions. The batter is just so light and crispy and melt in your mouth. The fish is beautifully cooked and its all served piping hot. Absolutely recommend the fish & chips. They offer kebabs and burgers as well but haven't tried these yet so can't comment on them.

What a change. This is now run by new people. The best chips i have had from a chip shop for years. Like homemade but with chip shop taste. Not an ounce of fat, crispy just perfect.. batter on the other products we brought was light and beautifully crisp. So I intend to go again this evening, last trip was only 4 days ago.. The chip portions are rather large too, we shared a small portion between two of us.

I have now used this fish and chip shop many times. And the standard just gets better every visit. The size of a large cod will not fit on a large plate which is fresh and not greasy. A medium cod and a large cod with a small chips and a curry source, costs £19.90 the quality is so good l recommend anyone to give it a try.

The veggie kebab contained one small mushroom, a quarter of a tomato and the rest was large chunks of peppers and onions which breaches the description in the menu. It also contained the crispy scrapings from the grill that would normally be binned. So not worth anywhere near the cost of £7.50. Had it before and it rarely contains the advertised tomatoes. Large chips ordered but only given medium. Shame really as we live locally, but won’t be returning.

Under new management and I have to say I am impressed. Chips, wraps, kebab and halloumi burger all tested and its very tasty, nice and fresh. The chips weren't oily and wrap, kebab and burger were yum. They actually sell the best curry sauce in comparison to other chip shops, not too not far behind the quality of curry sauce at Chinese restaurant. Also, I forgot to add the chippy is clean and well maintained. Thank you for the good food.

This fish and chip shop is now under new management. The premises looks the same but the food has very much improved with a new menu. I highly recommend that you give it a try. I have used it twice since it reopened and both times the food is great. Try it.

Fish was lovely. Chips were soggy with hardly and salt and vinegar. Sausages were pale with hard lumps in.

Chips and battered sausage tasted as if they had been cooked hours ago. Perhaps I caught them on an off day. Staff pleasant enough

Excellent meal even though a little late

Very disappointed, chips were a strange colour, dark brown soggy and greasy. Food cold

Food was barely warm the grease coming off the chips were dark brown and had been put in polystyrene containers so we’re all stuck together and soggy, tried them but couldn’t eat them as they tasted strange. Batter on the fish was thick and doughy again left a strange aftertaste so couldn’t eat it. Incredibly disappointing. Have had from here before and it was lovely, but this has put me off ordering from here again. Order very late food barely warm and tasted awful, 3 hungry and disappointed people. Sorry

Still not received food even though they are are less than 10 mins away from my address. When calling they said the driver had already left about half an hour ago. Poor delivery time. Icy roads 😂

After 2 hours and also 40 mins after it said it was on its way And it's not that far away from were I live in the first place it turned up they said they pressed the wrong button. I just grabbed it cos by then it was the middle of the England match. It was completely cold. Gutted cos I've lived stuff from here b4 no problem. Never again.

Just eat said 35 mins delivery, turned up 1hr 50 after order!

Fish wasn’t crispy and chips were soggy.

Ordered and paid for large cod but disappointingly the fish portions were small to medium max. Otherwise the food was good and delivered promptly.

Chips had a puddle of grease that went through the boxes other then that the rest was good and portion size was good

All the food was amazing. We had Cod, Scampi and Onion rings. All beautifully freshly made and very quick.

It was greasy and didn’t get all of our order

Curry sauce is normally nice but this time was runny and looked watered down. It’s not supposed to drip of your chips! The rest of my order was ok and only the bad curry sauce spoiled my order.

Although the food was delivered within 5he timeframe provided, it was cold and before we could eat our meal, it had to be re-heated in the microwave. Spoiled the experience.

Came late. Chilli sauce different & full of oil. Kebab so weird. Really enjoyed this place but never, ever again. Threw it away. Real shame

Chips were so greasy and soggy and was mainly small bits of potato. Fish was also very greasy and over cooked.

Chips were cold and as if they were the last bits at the end, bits of lime in the box fish was ok can never tell which is haddock which is cod

Chips were cold. Fish and scampi ok. Heated fish and chips through in oven. Nice fish ,good size for medium. Web site stated up to 50 minutes for delivery,but on order 1hr to 1hr 20 minutes. Not that “live” for updates.

Ordered 2 medium cod and got a medium and other must of been a pensioner portion because it was half the size and tiny. Sausage seemed recooked so threw it away. Chips ok but not brilliant. Think it may of changed hands as it’s been twice bad service. Wont be ordering again from here .

I wish I had discovered this fish and chip shop before lockdown!! Fabulous service, food is great with good portions and fairly priced. Loved it, best fish and chips since I moved here. Wish they did curry sauce though!

The fish was nice but most of the batter stuck to the paper, so most of the batter went in the bin. The kebab meat was nice but there was far too much sauce that the meat was swimming in it and there was hardly any salad. The chips were nice but the portion was small, I ordered a large portion but got less chips than I get with a small portion from other restaurants! I will not be using them again as there are better ones out there!

Ordered fish and chips through Just Eat for the second time and have not been disappointed. Food arrived hot and 15 minutes early. Food quality is excellent. Highly recommended

Fish was powdery not crispy very cold we have had food from heat quite few times and this was the worst we have had very disappointed

It took nearly 2 hours from ordering for the food to arrive. This was the worst fish and chips we've had ever! The food was cold, the fish portions were tiny, the batter was soggy. The quality last time we ordered from Bryant Road was cold on arrival, but we gave them the benefit of doubt, hoping it was a one off - but this time the quality was even worse. We've used Bryant Road Fish Bar on a number of occasions, but they seem to have lost their touch and in future we'll take our business elsewhere. What a shame!

Stated 30 - 50 minutes for delivery on their listing but after ordering that went up to 70 minutes but it actually took 95 minutes before it arrived - quite cold and with no apology.

first time I've ever written a review: the amount of grease on the chips would give any one a heart attack..the chips were brown 😳 .chips were soggy and slimy. never again..my kids didn't even eat the food..they were that disgusted..

The food was very good - all well cooked.

The chips was under cooked, the nuggets where burnt, the drink has a hole in it so had leaked into one of the chip containers.

Lovely food and get this ..so cute ... no peas so they refunded me in a little bag .... very honest.... thanks guys

The kids meal was smaller than usual, it was also swashed under other food! The small chips carton was open so half of the chips was in the bag!

Very disappointing tonight, usually great food but not today. The food was very late and cold and there was no salad

I really really want to like this chip shop because I live near it but having given it chance after chance I have to admit defeat and just go a bit further to Mcolls up the road. The staff are rude In person and even ruder on the phone and the food is never that great. Fish is oily and chicken is dry. The battered sausage is ok...but then so are the frozen ones you can get from the supermarket! I stuck with them because I heard they were doing free school meals for local kids and I wanted to support them but there are no signs in the window or shop and I can only imagine the staffs reactions if anyone dared ask about it. Phone orders are met with “I’m too busy to look” if you ask for anything a bit different like the Southern fried potatoes or “they’ll be over an hour” because they can’t be bothered to put them on. I’m ashamed to say I get fish and chips for the family at least once a week so I’d consider myself a good customer but they treat everyone rudely like it’s an inconvenience. Avoid and go anywhere else

Chips swimming in grease. Won’t be ordering again, son now has chest pains because they was so greasy. I could pour the grease out the containers 🤮 .

My food was really nice. It was a shame it came late and wasnt as hot as i wanted. Although the food was nice I took a bite out of my chicken burger and i NEVER spit food out... This burger made me spit it right back out. Wont be ordering a burger from here ever again. Everything else was fine.

The food tasted great and was lovely and hot.

We ordered fish & chips and a kebab with chillie sauce. The fish was nice but the chips were a bit soggy. The kebab had hardly no salad and the chillie sauce was substituted with garlic sauce - so basically I ended up with a dry kebab as I do not like garlic sauce. To top it off the items were delivered 45 minutes late! I will NOT be using The Bryant Fish Bar again - Poor service and not great food

I ordered at 6:30pm on a Friday, given a delivery time of approx 7:40pm, at 8pm I phoned and was told food hadn't left but would be leaving in couple of minutes and would take 10 minutes to arrive. Food arrived at about 8:15pm. The delivery person apologised for the delay. The food was hot and tasted lovely.
