A lovely room in beautiful surroundings, we called in for coffee and ended up having lunch, what we had was very nice but the service wasn’t good, it seemed a little disorganised no serviettes were brought to the table and no cutlery it’s hard to decide whether it’s self service or waitress service, the girl behind the bar seemed stressed and not overly friendly, could be teething problems but customer service definitely needs working on

Food The lattes, which are normally served in those fancy glass cups, came in builders’ mugs this time—really disappointing. They’d even run out of vanilla syrup, so that was a letdown. My mates ordered breakfasts, and while they were okay, they were just your bog-standard fry-ups. As for my panini, it wasn’t toasted, barely warm, and falling apart. It was doughy and sloppy because it hadn’t been toasted properly. I only managed to eat half before feeling sick. Honestly, it was shocking. I even asked for a simple cheese toastie, and they refused to make it! Meals we saw coming past us didn’t look much better, which put one of my friends off eating anything at all. Service When we got there, there were no tables free, and they don’t have any sort of plan for it. I asked them to reserve a table for four, but they refused because it was “same-day.” So, we had to awkwardly stand around, watching people eat, waiting for someone to leave. Felt like hawks circling prey—so uncomfortable for us and for everyone eating! When a table finally became free, a group of elderly people came in and the staff told them they could have it. What could we do? So, we had to wait even longer. Why don’t they just get those pager systems to avoid this chaos? It didn’t get any better once we were seated. We had to clear the table ourselves because it was covered in dirty pots, and they didn’t even wipe it down. There were loads of tables piled up with pots everywhere. The staff looked completely unorganized, slamming food and drinks down without even asking who they belonged to. Atmosphere The staff didn’t smile or talk—they just seemed miserable and uninterested. The whole place felt chaotic and a bit grubby with all the dirty tables. I used to really like coming here, but after this experience, I won’t be back. Final Thoughts I wanted something simple, like a cheese toastie, and they couldn’t even do that for me. The photos say it all—basic, sloppy food and zero care. Such a letdown, especially when it used to be a decent café. They need to sort themselves out because I’m definitely not recommending it to anyone.

We were the next table! After waiting for 3/4 hrs went to counter. No apology, said they were busy - think they had a booking for afternoon tea for 8 people turn up they weren't expecting - we weren't told about. (3adults, 2 children) We weren't offered our drinks we'd paid for so got the 2 children drinks after asking and told it would be 10 mins. 20 mins later went back to the counter. Spoke to assistant who said the order was ready then she spoke to a member of staff and referred to me "that, here". When my meal came - caesar salad, it was mixed salad leaves, red onion, mixed peppers and dressing - it was a disaster, so hungry ate it! Never left any star rating any where before but I was furious we had paid to be treated this way.

I’m so disappointed to be writing this review. We have ordered from them almost weekly for years. Tonight is the very last time we will order! Ordered at 7:15, website said delivery would be 8:15. At 8:45 it still hadn’t arrived so I rang them. I was told it was already on its way. No apology for it being late. They are ten minutes from me. At 9:15 it still hadn’t arrived so rang them again. Again completely unapologetic. I said I wanted a partial refund, at least delivery charge and they point blank refused and said a two hour wait is fine! No, a two hour wait is ridiculous!

Have ordered from here for the last few years with no problem at all, but have just had an order delivered and it was awful. Where do I start, I ordered chicken curry with fried rice and a portion of salt and pepper chips. I recieved just chips not salt and pepper, they were hard and tasteless, they had been made a while before and kept until needed.the chicken was tasteless and the rice was hard and lumpy. After 3 years without any problems I can honestly say this was the worst meal I have had from any Chinese, sorry to say I will never order from number 1 again.

Best part of £50 spent on breakfast - drinks took a while to come, but they were cold by the time our food came. Orders were wrong and one of the sausage sandwiches was sent back due to the sausages being barely cooked. Yes, they had a sign saying to bare with them as they'd just reopened, but the prices are expensive for what it is and I doubt we'll be going again anytime soon.

Was my first time in England and really wanted a coffee I don’t usually drink another drinks because I have lactose intolerance in S. Korea don’t usually have free lactose milk so that is why thinking in that I ordered Americano with extra 2shots (5 total) but I couldn’t even taste the coffee was just like water with dark color so I add extra 2 shots and finally it tasted as coffee 😂 and the cookie super dry… as barista this is an insult 😤😂

The food you can get at the bar is very poor quality and full of oil. The nachos are made with some weird liquid plastic cheese. The lasagna feels like it has been microwaved to the nth degree ... it is better to get in the car and go the distance to get a decent meal rather than eat here.
