Lovely friendly place lovely fresh ingredients, toasted sandwich was well filled, would have liked it a little more toasted so that the cheese melted. However it was delicious and all the salad, coleslaw etc was lovely. Very happy non intrusive service.

Four of us went in, one went to the counter to order food, one person already there, three others soon joined, all four stood there for 15 minutes, all totally ignored. After the fifteen minutes my party and I left to go elsewhere. I would never again visit this place and I would implore others to do likewise.

We opted for a luxury afternoon tea - which we were told is the standard plus soup and a coffee renoir. The soup was carrot water, so tasteless. The coffee renoir was in fact half a coffee renoir each. The scones were very good, and you got a generous enough slice of Victoria sponge too which was ok. The sandwiches were nice but nothing extraordinary (certainly not luxury) - cheese and pickle, (nice) ham, tuna and egg mayo. We booked 4 plus a toddler, that hadn't been communicated to the surly teen serving us who made it sound very inconvenient that they had to move a chair to our table (in an empty cafe). At £20.95 you'd expect more than one drink too. Their socials are lacking in detail and I suppose we wrongly assumed we would get good value for money. The setting is the only nice part, a lovely little fish pond - buy the fish food from the counter and feed the huge fish and friendly ducks. Don't go on a Sunday expecting the shops to be open in Charnock Farm, it was like a ghost town. The children's afternoon tea was pretty bland too - crisps, sandwichesx2, the carrot water soup, a scone, muffin and cake. Not special at all.

The service was absolutely shocking. We went for breakfast & was told we were too late which is fine. But was then told food would take sometime as they had an afternoon tea party in & we should go next door very rude. If they cant cope with more than a couple of orders no point being in business sandwiches are not rocket science to make & do not take very long. How many cafes do not have the waiting staff using trays 4 drinks all brought out separately. Whilst we were there at least 10 people told to go next door there attitude is not very nice at all. I would not recommend.

It was ok with friendly and obliging staff. Average for both food quality and value for money. Pleasant outlook onto water and associated wildlife.

Took my step-mum here for her birthday and it was amazing. The food was plentiful and really tasty, so well presented. We had wraps, finger sandwiches with various fillings, potato wedges, tortilla chips, chocolate cake, cream cake and scones with jam and cream and tea and coffee. Absolutely brilliant. The staff were lovely and very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend it.

It was okay. Outside there was a lot of litter and inside looked nice . Service was okay but we ordered a small toast and beans for my 2 year old nephew and it was served absolutely scorching hot and couldn’t be eaten for a while. I didn’t get an option of what crisps I wanted with my panini and for three people it came out at £35.. it was nice but wouldn’t visit again

We were told to inform the cafe if we wanted afternoon tea within 48 hours of our visit so I called on Tuesday to confirm that we would like afternoon tea on the Saturday but when we got there the staff said they hadn't been informed so it would take a while to make them up. When we did get the food eventually it was quite nice, especially the scone, and it was good value for money.

Booked an afternoon tea here for a birthday celebration having read previous good reviews and was not disappointed at all. Opted for the de luxe tea, varied selection of sandwich fillings, cup of soup, sausage roll , large scone with butter, jam and clotted cream and finally selection of full size not miniature cakes. Also included in the price was tea or coffee , the quality on offer was excellent and at what I regarded as a very reasonable price. I would add that the rural setting was quiet and ideal for those wishing to get away from a noisier environment and where you can sit and enjoy conversations without distractions- apart from the food of course.

My first visit. My Mum has been before. We had the luxury afternoon tea. It consisted of: Savouries: Sweet potato, butternut squash and leek soup. Egg mayonnaise, Roast chicken, Tuna and mayonnaise and ham sandwiches, crisps and a sausage roll. Sweets: Large coffee renoir (From "All you knead" in Chorley). Caramel shortcake a slice of chocolate cake and lemon cake as well as a scone, jam and cream. There is also a good choice of hot drinks. At £15 per person it was excellent value. We couldn't manage to finish it all and had to bring some home! The premises are rustic in decor and are wheelchair accessible, outside seating is also available. A great spot overlooking the pond and a great place to bring children. Booking is required for afternoon tea, however walk-ins are welcome. I would definitely come again.

Had lunch here. Only a small little coffee house, with little lake right next to it, with ducks, fish. There's also donkeys, ponies, chickens there. Popular with young families at weekend. Simple menu, but portions very generous. My tuna cheese melt was really delightful. Had a coffee renoir too it was much bigger than my hand and it was about £3.50, that's not bad, is it? Location is great and if you fancy a drink instead, there was a pub next to it too.

The Afternoon Tea was recommended to me. I live in America so for Mother’s Day I ordered 2 gift cards for each mother. On the website it asks for a shipping address when ordering and says you’ll be emailed when shipped. After a week and they hadn’t arrived, I emailed them no reply. I then asked my mother to go in and ask them. Apparently they don’t ship you have to go in person. Why have a shipping address?

Had afternoon tea here for the second time. Food was presented lovely. However I feel 4 huge cakes are really to much for one person! Would rather have less cake and maybe more savory as we only had 4 triangle sandwiches each. But a lovely experience. We were provided with a snack box to take out cakes home 🏡

We went for tea with Santa on Saturday. What an amazing experience!!!!!!! The staff were so attentive and the food.....well.....what can I say? The 1st cake stand came out ( we thought oh no, how can we make this go round 5 of us) sandwiches, cakes, gingerbread man. It was put in front of the 2 year old so she dived in. Then a larger one arrived and placed between the 4 year old and the 10 year old. We thought...perfect..just enough for the 4 of us remaining. NO.....an even larger one arrived for the 2 adults!!!!!!!! Gosh....had to take most of it home. The children got hot chocolate with marshmallows and even served the 2 year old separate so not too hot!!!!!

Had my baby shower here.. The afternoon tea was lovely! Unfortunately the table set out wasn't the best as half of my guests had their backs to each other. Also, we were informed when we arrived that due to Covid restrictions the door would have to be left open, it was snowing outside and I spent the whole afternoon shivering, all my guests had to sit with their coats on! I thought they should of informed me of that and I could of dressed appropriately or just opened a window. I was under the impression from the description of the "luxury baby shower" that it would be quite interactive with games but there was only 1 fill out game and baby bingo at the end. Overall I left feeling a bit disappointed and freezing! I would definitely recommend the afternoon tea, just make sure you wrap up!

The general state of the place was dirty, floors were covered in food deposits. I was served my coffee, and some of it was splashed into my saucer on delivery; for this there was no apology, or not even change of saucer, my wife had to clean it with serviettes. The place, in general, looked tired.

Unclean cafe area. Tables left uncleared, coffee cups strewn all over the place. Behind the counter looked unclean and generally unloved. Coffee was bitter and undrinkable. Will not visit here again. (We had already payed once I had seen the unsanitary conditions behind the till, otherwise I would have walked out before buying anything) a waste of £5. Will not visit here again.

So last time we were here we were very disappointed (see the write up below) . We thought we would give it one more go.m and we are so glad we did . The staff were extremely friendly. The service was spot on and the food was great . We will be back So we have changed it from a 2 star to 5 as we can’t fault it . Many thanks ( below is our original 2 start review ) review Absolutely gutted . We love going wonderland usually but today was a massive let down . Firstly we had to help ourselves to menus and find a seat , the Diet Coke tasted like cheap rola cola, The lad serving us gave us the opinion we were an inconvenience rather than a customer. The soup had very little flavour and the starters were brought to the table at the same time as the soup. So it was cold by the time you finished your soup. And soup dishes weren’t cleared away The duck was a chewy texture and when the mains came the egg fried rice was egg boiled rice definitely not fried and the sauces with the mains were all watery and not the usual consistency. I am hoping this is a blip and not going to be the norm. We missed May being there as she always made us feel welcome On the plus side the waiter who started as we were going was very friendly and polite
