Ordered a lamb curry gt a vegetable one paid nearly 20pounds it was disgusting one of the worst places av ever come across they didn't even offer to giv anything else definitely will never come here again

Agree with the other 2 most recent reviews, this place has been my families go to Indian restaurant for years, back when the food was delicious honestly the best Indian food we had ever had now since covid has happened they seem to have been on a slow decline since re opening but now I think they're at their all time low. It's very sad but unfortunately it's too much of a gamble now to spend money here never knowing what quality you're going to get. My most recent order has been the final one we were just too disappointed with it. I understand that covid has affected lots of businesses and maybe its part of the reason but I hope they can get back to where they used to be and hopefully we can all enjoy the food once again.

Top notch food tonight, love the chilli paneer and also the dhal. Expected food to be delayed because of the football / being busy but arrived within the time slot I was told. Very happy 👍

Flavourful food! The chilli paneer had just the right amount of heat. Everyone was very pleased with all the dishes.

This place has no consistency in quality of food. Sometimes really nice, others absolutely terrible. Tonight’s was terrible. Ordered a madras that tasted like it was the base curry and they’d forget to add in the spices that make it a madras, and the garlic naan was so soggy dripping in garlic oil it was breaking apart in a mushy mess. Most of the order went in the bin. This place years ago was the best in Leyland but over the last 18 months it’s been bad far more than good.

Avoid this place at all costs. Food was awful. Hairs in the curry. Rice had mould on it. Rang up and was just given abuse, reporting to trading standards and food hygiene

Very good service but lacking in terms of amount of chicken in the portions. Also far to much onions compared to the rest of the dish. It was all very nice in terms of food quality and taste but shame the over excessive onions and lack of chicken lowered the overall score.

Lovely food from Dil Raj last night (31/12/23) for New Year's Eve. We collected. It was all in there, nothing missing. It was nice and hot. Chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka bhuna, chicken tikka madras, mushroom rice, garlic naan, garlic keema naan, poppadoms and chutney trays. Everything tasted delicious. It was a fantastic meal. We would order from them again. I had the madras which was nice and spicy but manageable. Thank you, Dil Raj! Well done and we will be coming back for more!

Definitely the best Indian food I've had in the Leyland area, I've tried a few, but when it comes to consistency, the DilRaj never lets you down. I wouldn't even consider using any other. More spice, less price!

Ordered a mixed tikka, paid the higher price for a mixed tikka, unfortunately got chicken tikka. Apart from that, rest of the food was good.

Unfortunately forgot the Pilau Rice, but came back to deliver it, however would of expected a complimentary onion baaji or something to apologise

Two naans missing and no sauce came with the main . Very dissatisfied. Would not use them again.

Been to this place for years and last two weeks the food was very poor (disgusting). Rang to make my notions known and was welcomed with the phone being put down on me. Avoid!

Recently passing through the area and decided to give this takeaway a try. Ordered directly through their page with a 20 minutes wait time. Immediately received an email confirming the order. Chose the vegetarian banquet for 2, which consisted of onion, chutney , yoghurt starters, 2 x poppadoms, Naan bread, onion bhaji's and vegetable samosa's. Main courses are Vegetable Korma, Mushroom Bhuna , Aloo Gobi potatoes. All come with 1 x large portion of boiled rice. As promised & 20 minutes later, the order was ready. The takeaway is clean with friendly staff. So much food it lasted us for 2 evening meals...not bad for a total of £20! Each curry was perfectly cooked, could not fault them. Very tasty and fresh. The 2nd night we added our own rice and poppadoms to make a more than adequate meal. Will certainly use this place again and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to give the Dil Raj a try. They certainly provide great customer satisfaction and very tasty food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! THANK YOU TO THE DIL RAJ STAFF & CHEFS!

food was horrible with lots of garlic in biriyani. it is not authentic. starters were burnt with too much of salt in seek kabab.will never order again from this restaurant. please do not try new things on customers

This came recommended to us. We went for the starter sharer although that was a little underwhelming but the main food was lovely and would definitely order again but just mains or a different starter next time.

Always get a vindaloo from Dilrah and normally a nice curry from here but tonight I ordered a chicken vindaloo and it tasted like the heat for the curry came out of a bottle of Mad Dog 365 pepper sauce. The strength of pepper taste was overwhelmingly powerful. No taste apart from intense spice heat & pepper. Went in the bin.

Very average. Ordered the chutney tray which was not in the order. Found the food bland. Will not be ordering from here again

Burnt keema literally black went in the bin with lamb madras that tasted like a bottle of lemon was poured in usually are meals ate lovely was disappointed

Koma was bland, garlic Nan bread was full of grease. plan B was like you’ve just got it out of a ready made meal from Aldi out of the £25 only thing that was good from it was your plastic Tupperware won’t be ordering from you again

Not had a curry for a while so really looking forward to this, as last time about 12 months ago really good. Unfortunately we were so disappointed the curry was really oily with lots of veg and not much chicken, also was described as hot but it was mild. What a shame ☹️

We order from them almost weekly. We ordered at 7:15 pm, the website said time of deliver 8:15. At 8:45 I rang them and they said and it was on its way. They are only 10 minutes from us. It’s now 9:15 and it’s still not here! Two hours after we ordered it. Rang them again and they said it would be here any minute. They were completely unapologetic. I couldn’t believe how rude they were. We asked them for a partial refund and he point blank refused and said two hours is fine. Two hours wait is ridiculous. Last time we ever order from them! They lost brilliant customers tonight.

Food was on time, but tikka masala was missing from the order. Rang but got no answer so had to go out to collect. Bombay Potato’s were mixed with cauliflower which wasn’t what I ordered. Friday night so they were busy so you can allow a mistake.

Ordered for delivery, after around 45 minutes i rang to see how long my order was going to be. to be told it had been made and was waiting for the delivery driver. 5 minutes later i got a phone call to say they can’t deliver my food because it’s too busy? but my food had already been made? Then got told i have to wait another hour or get my money back which will take 10 working days? Waited an hour for food that had been already made an hour prior. The food comes and they’ve missed a meal from the order.

About a week or so ago, I had an accident which meant my car had to be scrapped. As a result, I have been stuck at home, unable to easily travel to my favourite restaurants and had to get delivery. My goto for Indian food was The Elephant, but unfortunately, they do not do delivery. So I had to find an alternative for my craving for curry. So I went on Just Eat and I chose the Dil Raj, with it being on the same block as Mai Wok, a Chinese takeaway I used to work at. Had a few deliveries from there and my experience is overall very positive. So, when my delivery driver arrived, he was very patient and nice when I was slow to open the door since I cannot hear my door when people knock very well. When I have Indian, I always start with a Poppadom, and these Poppadoms are very crispy and rich. As soon as you take a bite, it slowly melts in your mouth. And for main, on my first night, I had a Madras. Very thick sauce, which I absolutely loved. Madras is a staple curry I personally opt for, and a good bit spicier than my previous curries from The Elephant. On my second night, I had a Jalfrezi, a more hotter choice. This one, I am mildly disappointed by, which is the main reason for me dropping the 5th star. It was hot, don't get me wrong, hotter than any other Jalfrezi I have had, but my issue is that if you let it rest for even 10 minutes, it starts to leak out oil akin to a spill. Yeaaah, probably not gonna have that one again for a while, especially since it is also kinda bland for a Jalfrezi, which is usually decently flavoured. It's not normally the most flavoursome of curries, but even then, it doesn't reach my expected mark. However I do appreciate the banana pepper. Lastly, on night three, I had a Vindaloo. This, quite literally, blew me away. I haven't had a curry this hot in a very long time. If you try a curry at the Dil Raj, do not go for the Vindaloo if you are weak to chillies, this one is very damn hot and not for the feint-hearted. However, I much prefer the way it is done at Dil Raj over The Elephant because they opt for putting smaller tomatoes in rather than one big tomato chunk, and I personally find that a lot better because they add a really soft but pleasant texture while my mouth is seared. In addition, I had some other miscellaneous items, including some Onion Bhajis, which taste nice, but again, a bit too much oil. And some Chicken Spring Rolls, which are also very nice but I am not so keen on the bed of raw onion. And I had some Pepsi to wash it all down. Overall, a very good alternative to what is my favourite Indian restaurant given my change in circumstances and almost definitely worth the price. Will be returning more in the future. (New Edit: Marking up to 5 stars. Their consistency has been on point since this review was first posted, so The Dilraj deserve a full rating!)
